MirabelArode: It seems the people with foresightedness in the south are not the yorubas as we have been erroneously made to believe.
When they voted the fulani leader of all herdsmen in West Africa and he won, they threw parties, denounced the word 'Southerners'. They even called themselves westerners and told the SESS to go to hell. They mocked the SESS and claimed they made the best decision even though they were warned that it will turn out bitter.
Is the victory dance now shortlived? Were they right to have voted a Bigot who have never hidden the fact that his loyalty lies to his fulani ethnic stock alone. Will yorubas vote for another fulani in future?
Please lets discuss. No insults please. Insults will get you Banned! If insulting you will get me banned I don't mind but I have to tell you you are a very Big fool for this rubbish post . I think it's you who deserve to be banned for this ethnic post that aims to malign an ethnic group . You all should get over your loss of the election . In 2011 it was the south west deciding to vote Jonathan that eventually gave him victory apart from the facts that it was mostly yorubas that fought for his being made the VP. Your hatred for Buhari is because you have skeletons in your cupboard RUBBISH |

Why is the EFCC telling us that they recovered money from someone when they know that the next question will be how much?
Like I said, I have counted 7 trillion, if you have petitioned the EFCC, then give us the correct figure Post a link to a press statement from EFCC stating they have recovered money and the amount was not stated. Not statements from unnamed source/ staff who wished not to be named because he was not authorised to speak/ usually relable source/insider. Like I said earlier at the appropriate time the list of people who have returned money and the amount will be made public and until then stop believing beer parlour gossips |

dunkem21: You now see why Fayose will continue to be our role model? ..
They recovered money, we don't know how much and where it is warehoused. My records conflict with yours as I have counted over 7 trillion with EFCC It's because you keep counting amounts allegedly recovered from suspects according to an unnamed EFCC operative . Why not petition EFCC according to the public information act and get your correct figure. Though the government has repetedly told you that the amount recovered so far will be made public soon you still chose to believe unsubstatiated figures. You have laws you can leverage on to know whatever you want to know but decide to rely on beer parlour gists only for you to later blame APC and this government. Ganiyat72:
If igbos should reject PDP because they were not given the presidential ticket, but rather made to be the vice president?. What then is igbos still doing in a divisive party like apc? Which considers ndigbo in apc as inconsequential, hence the tag 5% . Or the hatred and total rejection of igbos tribe by buhari, who never deem them human enough to warrant any ministerial or notable post in his cabinet.
Where then lies the senses of these morally depraved igbo political jobbers in apc?. Isn't there a saying that a half a loaf of bread is better than non?
Under pdp igbos has attained every political post in the land, except presidency, which in due time will come, if this forced marriage still remain in one piece. Apc is not for the igbos and igbos are not for apc, the earlier igbos understand this the better for them. And you got 50 likes for typing this false assumptions . When in the last 16 years was an ibo man a vice president for you to now claim ibos attained every post except presidency during pdp rule. So you mean for consistently giving over 90% votes to pdp throughout 16 years No iboman is fit enough to be president or vice president .I bet you by the time apc rule for 8 years an iboman will be either president or vice president . And you come here to rubbish great ibo man just because they did not belong to pdp ,you don't see Onu, enelama, kachikwu as ministers because of your blind hatred . The PDP you want to kill yourself for is more a Hausa party than an ibo party. One of the reasons Gej lost was because he was giving more posts and previledges to the ibos at the expense of the hausas that are majority in the party. Without the north there is no pdp and the party hierachy knows this. |

Politics › Re: What Was Jonathan's/pdp Economic Policy by Rolings: 8:20am On Apr 16, 2016 |
theshadyexpress: The OP's intentions for opening this thread are not far-fetched,its just another cheap attempt by the APC zombies to keep smearing Jonathan/PDP with the hope that they'll be able to distract Nigerians from the visible failure of the APC led govt and also buy sufficient time for the govt using public sentiments and raising of pity parties. readers will notice that he tagged only staunch members of the zombie crew so as they can have a feast on this.
though im not fooled by the true scheming of the OP as regards the true intentions for opening this thread I'll go ahead to give a comprehensive breakdown of the economic policy of the Jonathan/PDP administration
ECONOMIC POLICY
1. De-emphasizing government ownership of business and encouraging full private ownership of means of production: people familiar with the GEJ government will always remember the quote "Government has no business in doing business"
2. Revolutionizing the Agric sector: the agric sector was transformed from been a social enterprise to been a fully commercial enterprise, the target for this sector was for Nigeria to be able to add an extra 20 million metric tonnes of food to its reserve
3. Full Privatisation of the power sector to encourage investments in power by the private sector: to this end there was a full privatisation of the genco's and disco's and a management contract for the TCN. those single policy saw the drastic reduction in the budget for the power ministry as the bulk of funding was to come from the private sector in form of investments
4. Complete divestment from all existing govt businesses: there were renewed efforts to resuscitate the ailing ajaokuta steel company and the government saw to the sale of the comatose Nitel/Mtel govt owned telecom companies.
5. Revitalisation of Railways and Airports to ease transportation for a smooth flow of economic activities: the already comatose railways were gradually brought back to life and new railway contracts were entered into with counter-part funding coming from Chinese state construction company CCECC and the govt also embarked on the construction of river ports on routes along the already dredged river niger while also seeking for privatise the already commissioned dry port in anambra state
6. Encouraging Businesses to expand so as to employ more people and also encouraging SME's to flourish with intiatives such as the SME fund and YOUWIN
i can go on and on but lemme stop here for now, Jonathan's economic direction was well spelt out in the transformation document at the inception of his administration and this provided a direction to investors on how to key into the agenda of government.
the results:
Nigeria became the No1 investment destination in africa with annual FDI of $10bn
Nigeria became the largest economy in africa
Nigeria had the fastest growing economy in the world second only to China
its obvious the Buhari team have no clue about governance, their trial and error methods keeps back-firing, For crying out loud Jonathan has left government for you for almost a year now yet you are yet to sit down and run your government, stop acting as opposition to your own govt and get serious
God bless GEJ Though you made points but your opening paragraph protrays you as someone with an axe to grind in other words you sound like a sore loser . Let me ask if you had 16 years and was not able to do all you listed then would you have been proud of your party? The point is APC can not be compared with PDP just yet they need to prove themselves and that can't be done in just 1 year for Goodness sake that's why they have at least 4 years. I don't know where you are or how old you were in 1999 but I can tell you there was great sufferings during the first few years of PDP reign greater than we are feeling now but most Nigerians still kept faith up till now . |

Pls , I sincerely want to debate anyone about the last 16 years of leadership in Nigeria, especially comparable to what we are seeing right now.
Fact no.1. Before you say that something was bad, corrupt, wasteful, there first has to exist a standard by which there can be a fair comparison.
Therefore, before YOU or anyone can boldly state that the last 16 years of leadership in Nigeria was bad, horrible, wasteful, corrupt, etc, there must have existed prior to that, a golden era by which we can compare and contrast the last 16 years of PDP reign in Nigeria.
So, sir, Can you kindly look at Nigeria's historical map, and point out the golden era of Nigeria's political and economic life that GEJ and co came and messed up ?
Thanks in advance. I will reply you only when provide answer to my poser which is that you should avail us of the income that has accrued to the federal government in the last 16 years and compare with projects initiated and executed |

Were everyone to start taking revenge than no iboman will be alive again because we all will be killing ibos in revenge for every armed robbery we suffer or for everytime fake drugs kill our people. Your analysis will not be complete until you tell us how much was realized by the government within this period and how much was spent on all you have highlighted. I assure you if you do that you will realize that all the achievements you listed will be only about 5% of what would have been achieved if the pdp curbed waste and corruption . So I'm essence Buhari is right to have called it 16 years of waste. Isn't it ironic that with all these FDI, growth rate and policies unemployment is still this high, poverty is still this high, corruption and waste is still this high, electricity is still not available and the most painful of all petrol I still not available. So having failed to address all these what then was achieved in 16 years |
Politics › Re: Using Jonathan And Pdp's Failings To Justify Buhari/APC's Ineptitude Must Stop. by Rolings: 1:03pm On Apr 13, 2016 |
OLADD: According to Cambridge English Dictionary, Change simply means doing something differently. In our contemporary day-to-day English, change connotes complete departure from an established position, norm, tradition, principle, attitude, behaviour, mentality etc. It also means moving from one particular state or position to another.
In the light of above definitions, admirers of the ruling (governing) party, most especially ardent supporters of President Buhari must come to term with the imperatives of realigning their mindsets to the Change Agenda of the APC government. Statements such as "did we complain when Jonathan did the same or similar thing in the past?" must be expunged from the thinking horizon and consciousness of those who truly wants Nigeria to move forward. If the main reason for rejecting PDP/Jonathan in the 2015 elections was to allow another party/president to chart a new course for our dear nation, Buhari and APC misdeeds or missteps must be laid entirely on their table instead of using Jonathan or PDP's similar aberrations as escape route.
If APC indeed promised a prudent and more purposeful governance, frugality and precinct must be seen to be their watchwords. Accusing PDP of running a wasteful and corrupt government while maintaining the status quo or even doing worst things is condemnable and hypocritical. Blaming Jonathan for deploying soldiers for elections and doing exactly the same in Rivers sounds incongruent. Accusing PDP of running a divisive adminstration but keeping mute in the face of Fulani escapades turns logics on its head. Spending millions of Naira on globe throttling while maintaining almost 10 Presidential fleet, a misnomer for which PDP was almost roasted by Lai Mohammed, Tinubu, Oyegun, Ameachi and Buhari, is nothing but festival of hypocrisy. Impoverishing the masses through oppressive policies as against ameliorating an already precarious situation does not depict positive change. The APC government must carve its own niche rather than recycling PDP's rejected ways.
Conclusively, justifying recklessness and mistakes of this adminstration on the premise of "Jonathan/PDP did the same thing" must end.
Cc:
lalasticlala, myndy44 If the present administration can continue some of the projects started by Jonathan there is nothing wrong in blaming the Jonathan government where needed. Among the projects this administration is continuing are the 2nd niger bridge, Lagos ibadan express, various airport modernization and the now contoversial Lagos calabar rail project which along with the Kano Lagos rail project is one of the deals the president went to China for. Identifying the cause of a problem is half of the solution to the problem . |

Any smart man watching President Buhari's travel log can easily observe that Buhari is doing what is typical of any military commander.
The man is simply undertaking a Global "familiarisation tour"; that's all. A fancy way students of International relations and diplomacy for "Yipeee!! Look at me!! I am the new guy in charge, abeg give me your BBM pin and whatsapp number so that we can chat on common interests later!!"
Unfortunately, that tour has no significant benefit for the Nigerian economy but is suited towards shoring up foreign support for the new political structure on ground. A support that Jonathan lost the day he sign a bill against gay rights, luckily for foreign powers, APC provided the right theme/points to withdraw that support - human rights abuse by the military and corruption - which is why Buhari has no issues calling Nigerians criminal abroad and insists that he will wipe out corruption and strengthen the military.
Is there anything wrong with President buhari travelling? No!! But at least, let us have trips that are strategically aimed at bettering the lot of Nigerians - short and medium term.
Considering our current economic position, new stance on corruption and security challenges, one would have expected that China would have been the first place he would have gone to, followed by south korea, india and russia then wait a while for US to come and greet him; they don't come, then look for an international forum to meet Obama and hold bilateral talks on the side there but not once has he even looked at these strategic countries. He is only just considering going to china now because he needs a loan to finance projects: see dull strategy.
He being in a nuclear summit in the US - with his government flashing pictures of him shaking Obama as progress report - at a time when Nigerians at home are buying fuel at #300 per litre is not leadership.
And since we are talking about heroes, 3 massacres undertaken by Fulani herdsmen over the last 2months have taken place. What did they profer as the solution to this problem?? Import grass from Brazil to create grazing areas so that fulani and their cows are not stressed from moving around nor fight indigent villagers anymore. No talks of identifying or bringing the perpertrators of these violent crimes to justice - why talk of that, when they don't want to make the new government look incompetent or bias to towards the presidents kinsmen!!
A government whose party never appreciated the efforts Jonathan made when the Nation came under the threat of Ebola - that had no clear cure at the time - but is struggling to contain common lassa fever that has clear testing and treatment regimen: with lives wasting away with the Health Minister's poor handling of the matter.
Well! Na God hand we dey, by His grace and mercy, we will get there!! Lots of economic growth was recorded under the last regime, such that investors was gladly pouring in their dollar into the economy. Even the stock market experienced exponential growth.
