It appears we had in the rostrum today the best set of brains since the creation of the interview session. No intent to undermine our previous guests but I must admit that today's response has been one of the most precise, penetrative and hard-hitting.

It was a delight being part of the show and I must thank our guests for their admirable display of critical assessment and their deep knowledge of issues referred in the questions.

And all thanks to my colleagues and panel of interviewers and everyone who participated in today's show. Cheers.

Yes! They can. The road may be tough but they can definitely make it. Honestly there's so much amazing things that could come out of nigeria.

Stick with your roots. It sounds really amazing here. But honestly it's not all its hyped up to be. Always remember where you came from. No matter where you go there will be someone who will ask you where are you from in an attempt to bring you down. And the only way to combat them it to be proud of your native land. When you can confidently with pride say I am from whatever state in nigeria.
Now that's a good sense of patriotism. One of my finesse moment is when asked where am I from and which I do experience almost on a daily basis. I leave no stone unturned when projecting Nigeria's image to anyone who cares to listen. We must raise the Nigerian 'flag' up. grin

Isn't it ironic that the same men who continually chant the stereotypical, chauvinistic mantra of all women being oppurtunistic leeches and wealth-grabbers and claim they want independent ladies turn around to spite the relatively few women who have made financial fortunes for themselves? Isn't that like wanting to eat one's cake and have it back?

[/color]
Very apt. One would think the Nigerian man who always laments on ladies parasitism would embrace an independent successful woman. But the reverse is the case. Quite ironic.

What are your take on gender equality. Do you think a man and woman should have equal footing in running the affairs of the home and why?

There are enormous pressure for young adults to get married, with women affected the most and men too. What's your take on the seemingly compulsory marriage mentality in our society and should it be seen as a mandatory exercise or just a choice?

What are your take on distance relationship. Some are of the opinion that's an exercise in futility but others think it's worth it. How do you react to this?

Just yesterday there was a thread where a single lady was thinking of getting herself a car but her family were dismissing the idea on the grounds that it's capable of scaring potential suitors away from her. Do you think it's true and how do we rid our society from this retrogressive backward idealism?

NB: some of the questions might have been addressed already, do skip anyone necessary.

To the topic. Girls who do such, have low self esteem. Why do you have to drop some of your personal stuff to mark territory? A guy that would cheat will still cheat even if you leave your pussaay behind. You don't kill yourself because you want to pass a message across to other chick.

The poster should look before she leaps sha. Some people might tell you they would allow you practice your religion just to make you succumb but start forcing their belief on you when married.

A lot of people are intolerant when it comes to religion and in an excessively religious country like Nigeria friends and associates might making caricature of him for allowing his wife practice a different faith which would mount pressure on him to change your belief.

I don't usually like to dabble into religion, particularly Islam as its not my fort. But I think it's wrong to assume Islam represent death.

There are over 1.6billion Muslims in the world and if they're what you said world war would be a child's play compared to the catastroph that would have befallen the world.

True. Na to take the thing put for one corner. Ladies who does such are clever by half, a casanova will always clean his tracks. Some of them put it in a precise position so much that when it's removed they would know it was tampered with which ignites suspicion.

So the most effective method is to take a pic of it so that you can place it exactly same way it was when she left it.

The unfortunate irony is that if a lady slaps a man in Britain the police doesn't consider it an offence, it's not even discussed. They'd just 'counsel' her and that's it. But if a man does same jail term and/or fines awaits him. Imagine that nonsense. undecided

People don't know they're making mockery and exposing their God as unjust and unfair when they thank him for things that ordinarily has nothing to do with him.

One get involve in a car accident where many died and thanked God for saving them without bearing a thought for those who perish and ignorantly implying that God is partial for letting others die while saving them. But they are all his children and he loves them equally. What a joke.

Okay so we should thank him for keeping us alive even when many died this year. Very thoughtful of you.

But I have two question; God kept us alive but allowed others die same year, right? Does it mean he's partial and preferential about his children? Why allow others die and others live when he loves all his children equally?

Lastly, since the bible suggest that when one dies they go to heaven, though depending on their life deeds, and we're made to believe that heaven is a paradise with abundant of goodies. Why then should one be happy of being alive in a world full of 'evil' and 'hardship' when they should have died and go enjoy heavenly paradise full of 'tranquility'?

I agree . Low socioeconomic status seems to be underlying factor. Nobody will dare try to take advantage of you when they know your parents are neither poor nor ignorant.
Hardly would any self-sufficient parents gives off their wards to another. Everyone is aware that it's near impossible for most people to treat another's kids as theirs and would never agree to give their kids to someone else.

The people who maltreat others kids are cognizant of the fact if these kids parents were financially stable they won't have part ways with them in the first place, hence the freewill to maltreat them.

I can see you have a deranged mind. kindly go over those verses. there are events that were happening before the exact verses quoted. if any sane man should go over them will not have to waste his time on this trash thread.
Your antithesis is flawed and groundless. These verses are in your holy book and the book is the bond and convenant that serves as a guideline to your faith, thus every word contain therein is solemnised. The time of occurrence is negligible.

how would you the OP justify those quoted Bible verses after all you read them all ??I sense you just have myopic mind reading the Bible. you don't actually read to add to your spiritual growth but rather to counter and by this act you will be stroke hardly because you want to tempt God.
Typical religious wingnut conforming to type. Once you question the inconsistency, hate and cruelty propagated by God and his teachings they resort to threats and blackmail.

The OP raised interesting scriptural passages which needs critical debate and clarification (if any) but rather than brainstorm on the topical points raised you resort to pettiness and vague threats. What a dunce you are.
Family › Re: What Are The PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS To Ending Child Abuse In Nigeria? by ronald4lif(m):
Hmmm, thoughtful of you.

The first and foremost first step is for low income earners and the very poor in the society to stop breeding and having kids they can't afford.

People must learn to take responsibility for their actions and stop believing that God gave them kids and he would provide for them. God never gave anyone kids, you engaged in coítal relations which resulted in pregnancy. Neither is he going to provide for them but you yourself is responsible for their upbringing.

A closer look at most children who are victims of child abuse one would realise that they are children from poor background. Their parents find it strenous to carter for their needs and even to feed them then had to lessen the burden by giving them over to these families.

Had they not giving birth to these kids they won't pass through the turmoil of having to work extremely hard just to survive even as they get beaten at any slightest provocation by their guardian.

Don't give birth if you don't have the financial resource to carter for them. The only solution is to sensitise poor families on family planning and the need not to breed like kids are running out of fashion.

The believe that one should inquire from a pastor and other fraudulent so called men of God before getting married is the most laughable, fatuous and preposterous thing for any sound mind to do.

For a sound mind with active neurons to undermine and debilitate their own sense of discernment while subverting their autonomous right to freewill thereby soiliciting for opinion from one duplicitous man who calls himself man of God means their foolishness is irredeemable.

I don't know about you but anyone who can bypass their own judgment to solicit for opinion in such issues from another, be it whoever, is exactly the kind of person I wouldn't want for a second in my life.

Such characters are the ones who would want to consult dubious so called men of God in every confidential issues when you get married. Can you cope? Keep your distance from that lady and her mum before they infect your unborn kids with their family ingrained imbecility.

.... It is widely believed especially in our part of the world that we marry the in-laws along with the spouse. So, they feel they should have a say.....instead of advising, counseling and dashing out a handful of their best wishes they influence. God help us
I understand but for as long as the men/women involve allow them to have their way they will continue to interfere. Had they rejected any unsolicited interference no one can influence them. I think more men/women are increasingly becoming autonomous when it comes to making decisions on who to settle down with and with time this external influence will lose their grip control on relationship/marriage matters.

Anyway, he who fetch woods must be ready to accomodate ants, only those who permits or solicit for opinion usually get dosage of it.
