The fact remains that those girls are out there! Infact, when I shared my exeprience with two of my friends, they laughed and asked to go to Shoprite{an ultra-modern shopping mall at Lekki Lagos} and see what those ladies had turned themselves to. The new scam in town might be coporate lady beggers, at shopping malls, cinemas and even bustops! I am still warning real gentlemen to steer clear from them! |

Yesterday was the 3rd time I was approached by a well dressed lady at Silverbird cinemas @ VI Lagos, pleading for pop-corn. It seems to me that these ladies carefully select their targets, a well dressed man who is alone. Their claims are that they run out of money or waiting for a relative or a friend! I think it is wrong for a lady to stop so low and beg for pop corns.2 weeks ago, I gave the first one money for pop corn out of ignorance. She move to level two by asking for my phone numbers! Real gentlemen, BEWARE! |

blissieng: We sit and we type and we stare at our screens. We all have to wonder, what this possibly means. With our mouse we roam, through rooms in a maze Looking for something or someone as we sit in a daze
We chat with each other, we share all our woes, Small groups we do form and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody to type out our name, We want recognition and offer the same. We give kisses and hugs and sometimes we flirt, In rooms we chat deeply and reveal why we hurt.
We do form some friendships - but why - we don?t know, Though some of them flounder some flourish and grow. Why is it on screen, we can be so bold, Telling our secrets that have never been told? Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind With those we can't see, as though we were blind? The answer is simple, it's as clear as a bell. We all have our problems and need someone to tell.
We can't tell "real" people, but tell someone we must So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust. Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains; They are friends without faces and with odd little names~. Screen bonding that is true results in great and real sweet frienship, Because surrounded by real folks our world is like a sinking Titanic ship |

aslan333: Relationships. With God, with family, with friends. In the end that’s all that really matters. We come with nothing but we leave with a lifetime of memories. So I put pen to paper in self examination. How many lives have I touched? How many people have I inspired? How many people will attend my funeral? How many will genuinely miss me? In life’s journey I have picked up jewels as well as pebbles. I am passionately loved and deeply despised, still struggling in the battlefield of my mind. Am I called bitter and resentful or happy and enthusiastic? Is life one big party or a pilgrimage. If love is mainly an emotion then how can I love my enemies? No, it’s an act of will, a determination to do the right thing in spite of your emotions. Yet love comes in different shades, my love for my parents differs from my love for my siblings still yet, my love for God. Does God still wrestle with man? Answer, he still wrestles with me in a match I pray to lose.
What epitaph will be written of me? How will the world of spirits welcome me? Will I elevate to the world above or will my sins make me sink to the world below. So many questions, so few answers. A friend of mine is a revolutionary; he has big dreams of changing the world. I face a tougher task, changing myself. I sit at my desk surrounded by the great dead. Writers who have gone on before me. C.s Lewis makes me think, P.G Wodehouse makes me laugh, George Herbert’s words are really deep and Robert Frost is truly rich. J.R.R Tolkien takes me on an adventure and Jean Plaidly brings me home. Writers too many to mention, words too deep to forget. I am Aslan333, a writer, a poet, a friend. A father, a son, a husband, a brother, a child. As I sit at my desk meditating on this drama called life I am reminded that it’s all about relationships, with God, with family, with friends because in the end that’s all that really matters. Nice inspiration my brother! But please, stop worrying about those that will attend your funeral. It adds no true real value to a life that has expired! Think of those you will positively affect their lives! Include your enemies as those that matters and try to have peace with them 1 Like |
