The reason why Messi's goals can't be remembered is because he has scored them a lot. You don't need to watch a replay of Messi's goals all over again because in two weeks time he will do it again.

Even if Messi doesn't have the World Cup records of the other greats, the other greats don't have his record in World Football.

Barcelona was winning before Messi came along, and will certainly win when he leaves, compare that with Maradona who went to Napoli when they were a struggling team and got them to win the league, then go to the world cup and lift the trophy with argentina who was not at its best.
