Airforce1:You are the first to tell me the bolded. I see references to the Jacobs as model couples. This is an eye opener for me indeed. Liz Benson nko? She's been transformed, so I heard. |
Airforce1:Really? Those are some of the people I call 'responsible' in Nollywood now. hwy would you say that? |
I do not agree with Amaechi that these people joined the industry because of lack of job. Such cases may exist, but you need the talent to even breakthrough there. I would rather he had said "Some of them just managed to study courses outside their calling, they are all supposed to study Theater Arts..". I don't know why he should also be naming a married woman in that his dirty talk. |
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, according to a few Nollywood practitioners at the 2014 edition of the Best Of Nollywood (BON) awards, came close to turning the event into a show of shame on the strength of his revelations and comments about Nollywood actresses and practitioners in general. At the event, which was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, the governor hurled what many considered an insult to the face of Nollywood practitioners. According to a source, during his speech; shortly after he handed veteran actress Liz Benson a Lifetime Achievement Award, Governor Rotimi said that people in Nollywood are products of circumstances/necessity. He added that the only reason they are in Nollywood is because they couldn't find other jobs; explaining that if they had, they wouldn't be actors. Rotimi noted that majority of Nigerian actors studied sciences, Law, Medicine and so on but because they couldn't find jobs, they embraced Nollywood. Present when he said this were Nollywood veterans including Liz Benson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Shola Sobowale, Desmond Elliot, Moses Inwang, Dickson Iroegbu, Bob-manuel Udokwu, Patience Ozokwor, Elvis Chuks, AY, Iyabo Ojo, Emem Isong and many others. Governor Rotimi; either deliberately or carelessly, created immediate controversies around two veteran actresses when he told the crowd that he gives Joke Silva and Kate Henshaw bags of money whenever they come to Rivers state. The governor also claimed he personally encouraged Kate Henshaw to go into politics. To cap his controversial speech, Governor Amaechi made it clear that he went into politics for money. At the moment, Nollywood practitioners remain livid about the statements of the governor and have tasked the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to look into the matter and ensure such never repeats itself. http://www.africaeagle.com/2014/10/nigeria-gov-rotimi-amaechi-spills.html PS: Hmn! @ the bolded. |
kennygee:What's that? |
Good job. Keep it up. |
NaLaugh:That was why I posted this bro. Western Union started it with first bankbankbank. ruffhandu: |
Youngzedd:Hmn, that bad? |
ecrestglobal:It happens like that. Other bank would start signing up. These, to me, is just take off structures. |
Fxwarrior:Hmn, why would you say that? I used to start that way when I was a kid and if I happened to find myself in a stream in my village. |
Youngzedd:Would you still if they are the only bank that offers the service you need? |
Tenim47:Not really |
Some things happen sometimes that make me scoff in disgust. For ages, it seemed such was impossible. But Western Union broke the jinx in August when they partnered with First Bank (http://businessdayonline.com/2014/08/western-union-first-bank-launch-outbound-service-in-nigeria/), Moneygram woke up, Just two months later. Something also tells me WU woke up because Paypal had made its entrance into Nigeria, exploiting the hole in outbound transfers. Paypal had activated only outbound transfers because they knew such offer did not exist. I think they however did not activate the inbound transfers because they didn't see much opportunities therein compared to the outbound, as at then at least. There one-way transfer service for Nigerians did not, however, go down well with some Nigerians. But it baffled me how CBN, in their bid to control the flow of foreigne currency, placed a restriction on the payment of inbound transfer customers with foreign currency. In my opinion, it made the foreign currency scarcer, widening the difference between the official and the black market prices further. Some people have made billions through round-tripping due to this, at the expense of helpless Nigerians. Perhaps it's everywhere, but I am sure of Nigeria: people would be held ransome with clams that there is no alternative until someone actually proves them wrong. Remember when people paid huge money and invested time and connection, just to secure a NITEL land line, even without success sometimes? Remember when we paid N50 per minute for calls? It was not possible to have a per second billing, according to them then. Remember when some companies said it wasn't possible to bill customers less than N10 per sms? NCC forced all down to N4 per sms. Remember when they made some advanced analyses and concluded that it was not possible to bill customers less that N12 per minute of voice call? I am waiting for a company that would make and entrance into the Nigerian internet data market and prove to them that with N3,000 or less, one can have unlimited access to the internet, with an amazing speed and least disruptions. I know that day will come, and very soon. Nigeria is moving to greater heights. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10204945244419035&id=1478692709&ref=bookmark |
UBA, MONEYGRAM LAUNCH ‘NAIJA SENDS’ NEW OUTBOUND MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE IN NIGERIA (October 14, 2014) This service opens a new vista of opportunity for Nigerians to easily trade with other Africans and also trade with other parts of the world. It also offers a great platform to send money to loved ones abroad October 14, 2014 – Africa’s global bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc and global money transfer giant, MoneyGram have launched Naija Sends the first outbound money transfers in Nigeria. Just after the launch Group Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Phillips Oduoza, made the first transaction within minutes, thus becoming the first person to transact business using the new MoneyGram outbound money transfer service from Nigeria. The service allows Nigerians to send Naira and receive local currencies in over 200 countries around the world by simply working into any UBA branch in Nigeria or in the 18 other African countries where UBA has operations outside Nigeria or through any other MoneyGram Agent Bank. The launch event which took place at UBA’s head office in Marina, Lagos, was hosted by Oduoza, who did a live demonstration of how the service works by sending money from Nigeria to Ghana. He sent Naira, which was received in real time in Ghanaian Cedis by the CEO of UBA Ghana. The transaction was monitored both in Ghana and Nigeria via video link. Speaking during the event, the GMD said the new UBA and MoneyGram outbound money transfer service will boost trade and business between African countries as many Nigerians who do business across Africa, no longer have to move around with cash since they can easily transfer money to their business partners in other African countries or in China, Europe and America to pay for goods and services. He described the new money transfer service which has been tagged Naija Sends as yet another testimony to the innovative, customer-centric disposition of both UBA and MoneyGram. “This service opens a new vista of opportunity for Nigerians to easily trade with other Africans and also trade with other parts of the world. It also offers a great platform to send money to loved ones abroad. As Africa’s global bank, we are proud to partner with MoneyGram to make this service available. It opens a whole new world of opportunities for our customers” Oduoza said. On her part, Regional Manager, Anglohone West Africa, MoneyGram, Mrs. Kemi Okusanya, said the launch of Naija Sends has further deepened the brand’s reach and service in Nigeria. “Over the last two decades MoneyGram has facilitated over 15 million transactions in Nigeria, enabling safe, convenient and reliable transfer of funds from the Nigeria Diaspora to their loved ones. As Africa’s largest economy, with over 10 million migrants, we are glad we are now able to also offer Nigerians the opportunity to send money abroad to their loved ones and for business transactions” Mrs. Okusanya said. “MoneyGram with over 300,000 locations in over 200 countries, partnering with UBA with over 700 business offices in 19 African countries and offices in New York, London and Paris, offers the best choice for Nigerian’s sending money abroad to loved ones” she added. http://starconnectmedia.com/2014/10/14/uba-moneygram-launch-naija-sends-new-outbound-money-transfer-service-in-nigeria/ ACCESS BANK PARTNERS MONEYGRAM ON OUTBOUND MONEY TRANSFER (15th October, 2014) Access Bank, in partnership with MoneyGram has launched the outbound money transfer service in Nigeria. The newly launched MoneyGram outbound money transfer service, labelled: “Naija Sends”, allows Nigerians to send their naira abroad through any Access Bank branch and platform in Nigeria, while the funds are received in the currency of the receiving country. Speaking at the event, Head; Personal Banking, Access Banking, Mr. Victor Etuokwu said: “What we promise our customers is speed, service and security. This means that we would offer them this service in a manner that is expeditious, quick, with minimal, but legal documentation; the service would be prompt and done in an environment that is secured. In other words, there would be no errors and there would not be fraud.” According to Etuokwu, the limit on outbound money transfer was raised to $5,000 per transactions, up from $2,000, because there had been some discussions around that. He noted that it was necessary so that those at the bottom of the pyramid who do trans-border transactions would see it as an enabler for their business. “If you put the limit so low, you will cut off some micro entrepreneurs. So, it is a welcome development that the regulator is sensitive to some ideas that would grow the economy,” he explained. Also speaking at the event, Head, Franchise Group, Access Bank, Ola Isola urged Nigerians to use the platform to relate with their loved ones and business partners across the world. “So, be it payment for a child in school, medical payment, business purchases across the world, this is a safe and secured platform. This is a platform that the people within the bottom of the pyramid are conversant with,” he said. Commenting on the launch, MoneyGram Regional Manager for Anglophone West Africa, Mrs. Kemi Okusanya said, the launch of “Naija Sends” has further deepened the brands reach and service in Nigeria. She noted that over the last two decades, MoneyGram has facilitated more than 15million transactions in Nigeria, enabling safe, convenient and reliable transfer of funds from the Nigerians in Diaspora to their loved ones. “As Africa’s largest economy, with over 10million migrants, we are glad we are able to offer this service in Nigeria today,” she said. With this service, Nigerians can now send money to countries like UK and USA from Nigeria. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/access-bank-partners-moneygram-on-outbound-money-transfer/191280/ |

McJANNY, You are a wonderful writer and I encourage you to keep it up. Don't let anything be a discouragement to your following this attempt to the end. However, I would like to point out some things I think you should address, unless if it is a modern writing style am not aware of yet. You should start a new conversation on a new line, and one person's speech should be bordered with only one set of inverted commas, unless if there is a word from the author in-between. McJANNY:I opine the above should be written as: "You know you can always talk to me. Just spill it..you don't have to select words". She bent to reassure her and folded Kamsi's hands slightly into hers. "I'm really sorry i have to bother you with stuff like this all the time. But right now I'm at crossroads...i don't know.." Her voice trailed off and she began to sob lightly. The moment Esomo heard 'stuff like this', she got a hint of what the problem was likely to be. "I know what the problem is. You need urgent cash, isn't it? I got out there everyday, i meet with all kinds of men, i try to play my cards well...you think i do it because i love it? I honestly don't know what you take me for... Because all you do is attend lectures, eat my food, sleep, and then preach to me..." McJANNY:Also, the above should be written as: "Because what would happen eh?? respect yourself and just be nice oh, afterall, a little break from the norm wouldn't hurt. Would it?" I hope my inputs are not out of place. Keep up the good work and be rest assured people like me are right behind you. |
Atk01:Interesting. |
Which area of your body do you start scrubbing with sponge when bathing? For me, I start somewhere in-between my legs, under. it's like a reflex and I've noticed it quite a while now. From there, I go through my belly and then chest, then reach out to my armpits. I know the last places I attend to is my legs, followed by my back. My back is the very last place as I hold both ends of the sponge and wipe through. Now, I reasoned, is there any advantage in starting anywhere? Possibly yes. Assuming something happens in the middle of the bath and you have to end it abruptly. that makes it ok to start from the most important places to be washed. This is just my experience and opinion anyway. Please feel free to add your. |
To the ladies: consumption of soursop helps against cancer. Eat as much as you can, besides it's sweet. |
sonOfLucifer:sorry jare, corrected |
This is simply unbelievable It is either Johnson is impotent, or doesn't just want any public show. But anyhow, since both are in harmony, goodluck to them. Marriage is all about agreement and mumuism. Johnson seems to prefer this to adoption, since it is the wife's offspring. He may also prefer a black kid. |
The Pennsylvania couple that carried out a heartbreaking bucket list for an unborn baby with a terminal condition announced the birth of the boy today, and his death a few hours later. "Today at 6:15 a.m., after meeting his entire family and being baptized into the Catholic faith, baby Shane died peacefully in his Mother's arms," Jenna and Dan Haley of Philadelphia wrote in a Facebook message. "We are so grateful for the time that we were blessed to hold and hug our son." Shane was diagnosed with anencephaly, a brain defect in which a baby is born without parts of its brain and skull and isn't expected to survive. Almost all babies die shortly after birth, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The couple told ABC News in an earlier interview they learned of the condition in April and decided they wanted to make the most of Shane's life by creating a bucket list they would tackle while Jenna Haley was pregnant. "He's still our little boy and even though he's been given such a short life expectancy because of anencephaly, we wanted to make sure that we gave him a lifetime worth of adventures and love while he's with us," Dan Haley said last month. The parents created a Facebook page "Prayers for Shane" to chronicle their adventures, from visiting a pumpkin patch to a Phillies game. They also went to beaches, zoos, the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial in New York City. Shane, whose due date was Oct. 12, came a few days early today. He was born at 2:25 a.m., according to the Facebook page, and died a few hours later. The couple hoped their journey, while bittersweet, will inspire others. "One thing we would want people to take away is that each human life is so valuable and that it's important to live each day to its fullest potential," Dan Haley said last month. https://gma.yahoo.com/couple-welcomes-terminal-bucket-list-baby-then-says-145603200--abc-news-topstories.html To me, this is love. Imagine knowing of this about six months ago. Just in good faith. modified How do you know/think Nigerians react/will react to such happenings? I know a lot of people will say "God forbid!"

candy:Good job. If you may, please modify it. |
tescoleps:Gud morning dearie. Me think it is as u have stated too, unless if Sweet has a can of worm she wants to open from there. |
2legit2qwt:It is no joke. The people who cancelled their trips were mentioned/quoted. The truth, there is Ebola in those countries and anyone going there has to take precautions. |
candy:Hello Candy/Sweet, Commendations! Is the bolded a typo? Keep it up, you are not doing badly at all. |
I agree with you OP. My condolences to Larawise, don't know her anyway. I believe presence of form, without even discussing the source of grief, does it. That is what I do sometimes, just spend quality time with the person. I remember when I was a kid and we went to condole some bereaved people in the village, I tagged behind my elder sister. After pleasantries, it was time to say sorry. In want of what to say to embellish my "sorry", I said: "please sorry". When we left, she asked me why I should add "please", if I was the person who killed the dead man. Lol! I pinched myself and watched my tongue thereafter, I was around 8 or so. People should learn to console, as well as to congratulate people. The right words at the right time will sooth a grieving or merrying soul. On a lighter mood: My friend's brother once went visiting a relative who put to bed. They knew they had to visit, but what to say there, they knew not. After moping at the woman for what seemed a long time, they said "sorry for what happened". The woman was surprised but burst into laughter when she realised nothing else other than her child delivery happened. She knew the boys lacked experience. |
It's not written? |
hydeka:That's what they were. No be so? |
udemzyudex:I understand you perfectly bro. The fact that you have just taught me that Forex is gambling, and the bolded, means your knowledge of it is not a waste. |
udemzyudex:Now that you know and teaching people it's a gamble, you are already making use of it. Unless you define "making use of" to mean making millions, no knowledge is a waste to me. |
