Politics › Govt Made Us Suffer, Collected Millions Of Naira Before Releasing Dead Bodies by ruffhandu(op): 11:22pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Nigerian Government Made Us Suffer, Collected Millions Of Naira Before Releasing Dead Bodies Of My Brother, Wife, Children Crushed By Container To Family,’ Woman Laments A Nigerian woman, Okoli Ijeoma Jacob, has lamented how the Lagos State government allegedly made them suffer before they could get the remains of her relations who were crushed to death by a container in the Ojuelegba area of the state earlier this year.
According to her, the family paid millions of Naira before the bodies of their loved ones were released to them. Jacob said her brother, wife and children died when a container-laden truck fell on a commercial bus at Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos on January 29, 2023.
No fewer than nine persons were crushed to death on that fateful day when a 20ft laden container fell on a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of the state.
It was gathered that the commercial bus was picking up passengers at the bus stop along the Ojuelegba Bridge when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.
Jacob, who said she is a relative of one of the deceased, Pastor Emeka Okoli, said the cleric died alongside his wife and two children. She lamented that the death of her brother made her see the reality of Nigeria and how “wicked” its leaders are as the Lagos State government subjected them to acute suffering and made them spend millions of Naira before releasing the dead bodies to them for burial.
On Facebook, she wrote, “My brother’s death and his family opened my eyes to see the wickedness of this country and our leaders. We suffered in the hands of Lagos state governments just to carry their corpse. We spend millions before their corpse were released.
“I prayed bitterly with a broken heart that all of them will suffer the same fate, I mean all and no exception. God will punish them all for the trauma they caused my family, the suffering.
“They cut the life of my brother and his family short and still stressed the life out of us including our pocket. We know the length we went, including the lawyers involved before they even look at us. I only pity the citizens fighting for this wicked politicians, they love no one. Nigeria is not a place to live, it is death zone looking for who to kill.
“I never know I will someday post this kind of heartbreaking pictures on my wall. Emeka Nwannem and his family are gone forever. Their generation wiped off the surface of this earth because of a use….less government, Nigeria happened to us
“My brother and his family would have been alive enjoying their lives today if they were in another country, but Nigeria cut their lives short. A prayer warrior and his family is gone
“An evangelist and his family are no more. Our pastor and Gods own servant gone with his family. It was a festival of weeping that I can’t control myself but keep asking God why? I have never felt this terrible and pained all through my life. I miss you Bro. Farewell.”
Earlier, Chukwudi Iwuchukwu, who described himself as Jacob’s friend, posted, “When the news broke two months ago that again, a container fell off the Ojulegba Bridge, crushing many innocent Nigerians to death, the number of deaths reported were just statistics as many Nigerians shrugged off the news and moved on with their lives.
“But these needless deaths are not statistics; a man, his wife, and kids were wiped out that day and crushed to death by the unfortunate container.
“The late Emeka Okoli was a committed family man and a prayer warrior who was with his family inside his car when the container crushed them to death in Ojuegelgba Bridge.
“A generation was wiped out in one swoop! just like that. Another needless death caused by the dysfunction called Nigeria. One prayer I pray every morning before I leave my house is this: may Nigeria not happen to me today.
“A valid prayer because the fears are real. What the people of Lagos owe the memories of Emeka, his wife, and his innocent kids crushed to death in the most painful way is to vote right this Saturday.
“The late Emeka, his wife, and the kids were committed to Mother Earth this afternoon at their native site in Anambra State, to the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the relatives left behind to mourn them.
“It is well with Lagos. To my sister and friend Okoli Ijeoma Jacob whose brother and family were the victims in question, please cheer up and accept my condolences.
“May their souls rest in peace, Amen.” https://naijanewshouse.com/dead-bodies-2/ |

However Alex Otti can not win the election. There is no Ukwa LA Ngwa with him. Governor and deputy from one place. No, he has failed before arrival. Oh, I see. Where is he from? And where is his deputy from? You never can tell, anything can happen. The reign of PDP is over, and I wish not Orji Uzor's brother to happen to Abians. APC, SDP Kick Against Poll Result Transmission, Seek Leave To Appeal Judgment The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lagos State have applied for leave to appeal the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should electronically transmit the results of Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.
Justice P. O. Lifu had given the order mandating INEC to electronically or digitally transmit results, following the suit brought before the court by Labour Party (LP) and its governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. Although SDP, being an interested Party, had approached the court to void the March 8,2023 judgment, the court refused, thereby warranting the application for leave to appeal. Also, the APC has applied for a leave to appeal the judgment by Justice Lifu as an interested party.
However, the cloud of uncertainty over the INEC method of result transmission has not fizzled out as another Federal High Court sitting in Abuja gave an order to the effect that the electoral agency is at liberty to adopt any method suitable to its operations.
In the suit between the appellants- SDP (and its three chieftains; Olufemi Olaniyi, Christopher Janet and Olatunji Ganiyu) and LP( Rhodes-Vivour and 18 others) pending before the Court of Appeal, the appellants sought four reliefs:
-An order setting aside the decision of the Federal HighCourt, Lagos, contained in the ruling of Justice Lifu delivered on March 8,3023, in Suit No: FHC/L/CS/470/ 2023;
-An order allowing the appeal against the decision of the Federal High Court, Lagos, contained in the ruling of Justice Lifu. https://naijanewshouse.com/result-transmission/ |
Politics › LEAKED MEMO: Enugu Gov Threatens Political Appointees On Non-payment Of Salary by ruffhandu(op): 1:36pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
LEAKED MEMO: Win Your Polling Units Or Forfeit Your Salaries, Allowances – Nigerian Gov Threatens Political Appointees, Others Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has directed political appointees to ensure that candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party win in their polling units in Saturday’s election or forfeit their salaries and allowances.
This directive comes as the battle for the soul of the Enugu State treasury and who controls the Lion Building Government House intensifies after the party suffered a crushing defeat in the February 25, 2023, presidential and National Assembly elections in the state. Governor Ugwuanyi was not spared in the humiliating defeat as he also lost his bid to represent Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
The governor lost to Labour Party candidate, Chief Okey Ezea.
Despite being the ruling party in the state, the PDP only won two political seats, one senatorial seat and one House of Representatives seat, while the Labour Party took the rest.
Like a wounded lion, the government announced the suspension of salaries and allowances of workers and political appointees till after the elections, threatening that payments would be subject to delivering their polling units for PDP.
In a memo on Friday, “Cessation of salaries and other allowances” addressed to all local government political appointees, dated February 28, 2023 with Ref: OSLG/EC/PA/002, which was signed by Donatus C. Ugwu for the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti local government, the staff were asked to forget their salaries and allowances should they fail to ensure PDP’s victory in their polling units. The memo reads: “Government of Enugu State of Nigeria, Office of the secretary Igbo-Etiti local government area.
“Be informed that salaries and allowances of all Political appointees of the local government council have been put on hold until after the elections.
“All concerned (political appointees) are to deliver on their political mandates in their various polling units, etc. to the PDP in the elections with evidence thereafter after which the restrictions on salaries and other allowances will be lifted, if need be.”
The letter was copied to the HPM, Treasurer and Payroll Officer.
SaharaReporters reliably gathered that the cessation of salaries and allowances was effected in the 17 local government areas and Ugwuanyi’s appointees at the state level as a way to push them to do everything to ensure PDP’s victory in Saturday’s elections. https://naijanewshouse.com/polling-units/ |

Rassco: The meeting of some Nigerian billionaire businessmen, notably, Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, and Femi Otedola with Bola Tinubu, an illegitimate president-elect, is as insensitive as it is provocative. That is impunity gone too far. As if the show of shame lacks in folly, Mr. Elumelu—the poster vainglory of the Nigeria’s shady banking system—had the affrontery to share a video of his family hosting the number one enemy of the Nigerian youths. What an eye-sore!! What a social miasma!!
The same Tony Elumelu is alleged to have weaponized his huge influence at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to morph up the millions of scarce new notes which Tinubu deployed to rig the 2023 presidential election. This brazen sleaze took place at the time the ordinary customers of the bank were sleeping 24 x7 at its premises, begging to withdraw a few naira to feed their families.
