Yes the USSR suffered the most casualties and the germans suffered their most casualties at the eastern front. And USSR captured berlin by ground invasion in one of the deadliest urban warfare, door to door...but you should know before the red army invaded berlin, u s airforce bombarded berlin couple of days before the berlin ground invasion. The u.s was fighting on three fronts; pacific, africa and western europe. Ofcourse the deadliest battle occured on the eastern front between nazis and the red army.
