Good day house,

Fellow India/Nepal PPR clinchers, any good news?

Am not making any headway with regards to it. The CSE i raised came back that they have verified the information i gave and they have forwarded to the office in charge and they will get back to me.

I called Accra VO on Monday and they said i should mail the Canadian High Commission in Accra(which i have done but have no response yet).

I called Accra VO again this morning to find out if i can submit the passports, since they can verify and issue the visa. They said since it is specifically stated that it should be sent to India, they cant do anything about it. Either CPC sends a new letter instructing Accra or i send them to India as earlier indicated. 30 days is ticking

I asked how i should go about sending to India if that remains my last option and the agent wasnt helpful. He said he doesnt know. I thought Canada has designated VFS for passport transmission.

Fingers crossed.
Will update the house if i get any helpful information.

Congratulations on your PPR, please what number did you reach them on? Kindly share, thanks

Congrats man!!! Let this not pass me by. To corroborate this testimony, my wife also travelled in recently at 36 weeks plus few days to 37weeks and delivered our baby in Canada, although she didn’t get Alberta Health card immediately, she was only provided with her healthcare number at the Registry; which she used to visit hospitals. Mother and child are also fine. Howbeit, we’re still expecting our PR cards.
Congratulations!!!
I'm curious, which airline did you guys use?

Praise to the Lord the Almighty the king of creation!
Gather round people, it's PPR!

Below is my timeline
Decision to travel August 2017.
Family of 5
Visa office: initially London, moved to kyiv in August.
IELTS: September 2017.
My IELTS was written once and was perfect 9,8,8,8.
Spouse IELTS 7.5,7.5,7,7
ECA: Masters Nov 2017
Entered the pool Dec.
ITA January
AOR January 17th 2018
Medical Passed Feb 11th 2018
IP1 Feb 12th 2018
IP2 Feb 27th 2018
Then silence. Not even a single ADR.
Ordered 1st GCMS notes April 2018 everything looked perfect.
Then complete silence.
Ordered 2nd GCMS notes July 2018, this never arrived
Wrote Raplh who confirmed Eligibility and Security not yet started.
More silence, not even a ghost update
October 3rd 2018 ordered 3rd set of GCMS notes. Arrived Nov. 1st. Still same as April notes. My file had not been touched since March 2018. Eligibility and Security not yet started.
Wrote a 3rd mail to Ralph on Nov 4th who was gracious enough to respond (Ralph responds only once). He confirmed that my eligibility and security was not yet started and my application cannot be expedited.
Nov 8th, like a dream ! my PPR!

Checked email and profile this morning and saw nothing.

By 2pm during my lunch break, I saw a mail notification, I wanted to ignore but decided to check.

I saw a mail from donotreply@cic.gc.ca that I have an update on my profile. I was excited, that finally I am getting a ghost update / adr.

I logged into my cic acct and saw my profile was updated. I was so excited, thinking it was just a ghost update and that finally my file was receiving attention. I wanted to log out but I felt the nudge to proceed and click on view complete application which I did.

Nothing seemed to have changed, my background check was still in process, I was about to log out again, when I felt that urge to scroll further down to the mail section.

I saw I had a new mail, titled request letter. I already concluded that it was an ADR for fresh bank statement. Love and behold, it was the almighty PPR.

I wasn't expecting it to come without an ADR for updated POF since my application had been pending for almost 10months. I lost appetite immediately, and was was just screaming. I couldn't share the news with my colleagues, so I just lied to them that my husband got a new job!.

I am immensely grateful to God Almighty who did not put me to shame. Delay is not denial. Though it tarries, it must surely come.

Thank you all for all the love and support.

Off to take my pictures and submit tomorrow.

This year has been so challenging. hubby and I lost our jobs, all our money tied at POF, we were feeding from Hand to mouth and struggled to pay school fees. Infact this September, we had to change their schools to a very cheap school.

God bless you all.
Yay! Congratulations, so thrilled for you. The patience paid off!

Good morning people, can I copy the job duties under NOC and attach it to my reference letter as what I’m seeing here is exactly tailored to my job responsibilities or I should tweak it a bit to avoid it being disregarded for plagiarism. I’d really appreciate the feedback

I’m new here and I have a lot of questions. Thanks in advance

Tweak it a little, and also vary the arrangement. You could also add more or less!

Hi guys. I can imagine what you guys must be going through. To say the least, it's exhausting and quite painful to know that your applications are still pending. But guess what? Delay is not denial and it will definitely happen soonest. I advise you order your GCMS notes as soon as you can so you have an idea of the status of your applications.

As someone rightly said, ordering your GCMS notes might prompt them into prioritizing and processing your file. There are cases where applicants reach out to IRCC and they got their PPRs fast. If you can, contact them via phone or email, it wouldn't hurt to try.

And who knows? Anything can happen and we will celebrate with you guys anytime from now.

Cheers!

Thanks for your kind words, it means a lot!

Please did you use your UCI number only or with COPR to attend the courses?
I have the new UCI but still waiting for my PPR, will I be allowed to attend the courses? I need something to be doing to keep busy

You don't have to get PPR to attend the course. Any document that shows your UCI is sufficient. I completed my course in March. I'm yet to get PPR

Hey guys,

Thanks for being nice. smiley

I've got a friend who intends doing a short landing cos of some personal stuff to handle before returning permanently.

1. I know he'd have to wait until his PR card is ready before returning to Canada, I have heard of other alternatives but with sketchy details. Is there a way he can return even when his PR card isn't ready?

2. His goods won't be coming with him cos it's a short landing, on return will he be taxed for his goods?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

1. He doesn't have to wait until the PR card is ready unless he wants to. He can re-enter Canada by applying for the permanent resident travel document via VFS global. Someone in my WhatsApp also claimed the immigration officer he met during his landing told him his PR card could be shipped internationally if he wishes.

2. To avoid taxes, he should fill the goods to follow form.

Lmao. Same here. AOR is exactly 4days just like you.

I am a worry wart and made a conscious effort not to keep checking lest I loose my mind. Decided to pray, hand it over to God and go about my daily business occupying my mind with work and do a lot of research on the next step.

Still a bit clueless about registering for planning for Canada session on the site when it specifically asks for the documents that I don't have. But I see that people did theirs before receiving COPRs and stuff

You can upload your AOR document, as proof it's also acceptable even though it's not listed on their site

smiley It's an individual something. We see things only in part, so best approach is to continually give thanks rather than wonder why your case was not like someone else's.

You that waited for over six months, it's possible that its the grace of patience you needed. Or maybe you've always gotten things easy in life and you needed to understand how it is for those who struggle/wait for everything. It's even possible that God mercifully honored his request, simply because he would have lost his faith if his PPR had not been speedy as requested, and not because he had the right prayer points grin grin So many possibilities...

3 Gbosa for you! You took the ink off my pen grin

Planning for Canada session.

Send a mail to wekun@iom.int with your UCI number.

You can also add your EE profile number but I doubt if there will still be any space for the August 21 Session and unfortunately, I learned that the will be the last one.

For Abuja folks, there's an opening in October. The session isn't ending this month. Contact Wunmi to book a seat.

What kind of diploma have you done? I'm assuming HND. If you can max out IELTS and evaluate your BSc.and HND, you should be able to score 449.

Asking for my sister, as a married lady. Its advicable to use the name on your certificate for wes evaluation or use the husband's surname even when she has not done newspaper publication

That'll not advisable, since she hasn't formally changed her name she'll have to stick to her maiden name.

I was also quoted 10k... just wanted to know if it could be cheaper. Lol.

If you want it cheaper, download the forms. Thumbprint on them and send it with your passport photos to Lagos via nipost for processing. The certifcate can be emailed to you when it's ready.

I entered the pool today by 11.30am. Please will I be part of this draw? I need help please. My cut off was 444

As long as you got an acknowledgement your profile was submitted before the draw you should, As your CRS is above the cut-off tie breaker doesn't apply to you. Congratulations!

[quote author=Favoredme post=67195249]Our Landing Story...

We (myself, hubby and 3 energetic kids) booked our flight with Ethiopian Airlines based on the positive reviews gotten from this page and we left Nigeria on Wednesday last week. I'm glad we did because the flight was smooth, the food was plenty but bland and the in-flight entertainment was enough to distract the kids during the over 21 hrs flight.

Congratulations! Best wishes!

Good evening all,

Please i'd like to confirm since there are no points added for accompanying spouse work history, is it still compulsory to include work history for accompanying spouse. Incase you include it, do you still need to provide a reference letter, pay slip and all the other docs required for the accompanying spouse as well.

Thanks
You're right, as long as the work history isnt Canada based, no points would be gotten for it. If you include it, you'll get a place holder to provide work reference. Most people just move it to personal history to avoid having to go through the hassle of providing unnecessary documents.

Someone dropped a hack on how to mask food smells when travelling. Can anyone remember?

I can't remember the hack you're referring to but you can mask strong food smells by putting the food in a zip lock or using an air tight container, then use a masking tape to ensure it remains sealed. Alternatively, you can put the food item in an envelope, then cover with cling film.

If you are in the pool... Kindly log on to your profile. CIC have added a new field to the Study and languages Section. Under Official Languages, There is now a new question..

I don't see the point of this question, I thought IELTS /TEF was meant to validate one's level of communication?

Use the CRS calculator properly.

Good day house, please I need advice from all the gurus. I have done my ielts n I scored 9inR,8in L, 7:5in W and 7.0in S. I have 407 in the pool. Am 27, I hv only BSc n 4years working experience. Please what can I do to improve my score, because registering for masters will take another 2years. Thanks.

With the credentials you stated above, you can get 441 by improving your IELTS. You'll need at least 8.5L and 7.5 in speaking, assuming your reading and writing stays the same.
You can also register for a post graduate course as OP suggested, but if I were in your shoes I'll go with the first option. Cheers

I sincerely won't take it. What sense would that make, As a corp member I earn double that amount and I cant boast of having savings. I'll rather spend that amount of money on self-improvement courses or maybe go into buisness. Getting a job isn't a do or die for me.
