Idle talks. PISA like assessment accross countries have been done over the years - and Kenya kids are only competing with Mauritus in Africa. You compete as always with Somalia and Burundi...though you beat them in number of kids out of school...in streets begging.
obaaderemi:
If Nigerian kids sit for exams in Kenya, the pass rate would be close to 100. If your kids are failing exams simply because they are asked to analyse stuff, then it shows they've been poorly prepared and frivolous on their own part.

Same goes for your nurses, who struggle to pass basic literacy exams. grin Kenya's education is bad. Simple.

Mad cow it's how Ghana measure electricity access - if a community or village has some wires - then you declare everyone has electricity - dont worry India has similar methodology smiley smiley - it's very misleading

For this reason, although MoP estimated electricity access in 2010 to be about 72% (meaning 72% of Ghana's population lived in communities with access to electricity ...

What is the plan to sell cement - about 3 times lower like Kenya. Otherwise this good for Rabiu & his few employees- and bad for Nigeria. It's better if you were to continue importing - for surely manufacturing something that is almost 4 times more expensive than global prices is crazy

I was taking my niece to college recently - and I asked her about exams - and she confirmed - Kenya exams since 2015 changed from Nigeria type crap (List or Name this) - into analytical exams - she told me in all subject except maybe CRE and Agri.

If West Africa kids were to sit for Kenya exams - failure rate will be close to 100 percent. In fact I recall reading getting kids scoring an A in Kenya biology (should be one simplest STEM) has become so hard..medicine courses have issues.

In short - you get what you measure - I am sure kids in Burundi and Nigeria pass their easy exams - but when will you make the turn for better and really measure that critical thinking skills?

obaaderemi:
It remains to be seen if this will stem the woeful failure Kenya's final year secondary school students always encounter.

If we used Ghana method of measuring electricity access - we would be 100 percent - because you basically count community access - as electricity access smiley smiley

Between 2014 and 2016, the government of Kenya embarked on an extensive electrification project targeting all schools. Schools near the grid network were connect to grid electricity while those further received solar photovoltaics. This increased the share of schools with electricity from 56% in 2014 to 94% in 2016

Then we have supplied 99 percent of all schools with digital tools

You are too slow..like Nigeria. By time you're done...Kenya would have build 3 times more projects. PROJECTS NEED TO BE EXECUTED ON TIME, ON COST AND ON QUALITY. That mean you only begin a project when you have the money and you hire competent firms.

Dont be Ghana - my peace corp friend told me - it mortuary of failed projects all over the country.

Look at your SGR - you're now going into 6yrs - you began in 2017 April - and it still far from over - you may ride that train 10yrs later smiley

Kenya we pulled SGR In 2yrs almost - 18 months ahead of schedule - started in 2014 and by 2017 it was operation. And it MSA-NBO - twice your Morogoro project smiley - that will be completed in 2027 smiley

Look at Nairobi Expressway - almost one year - nailed.

Kazikazi:
....and Tanzania is building more projects than Kenya.Just on railway alone,we are pouring more than 14b for Africa's longest SGR project!
I can't mention little stuff like road constructions and gov buildings, that is too much, imagine in Dodoma alone,we have about 5b worth of projects.

What makes a country part of a region? DRC the biggest Central African country just joined EAC or say Great Lakes Region or Sub-Sahara region or Supra-Sahara. It also factual to say XYZ is biggest in East, West and Central Africa - or simply say outside South Africa in Sub-Sahara Africa - or even to say north of Limpompo river and south of Sahara desert? All those are innocent geographical constructs that should not make you angry.

You should contribute to substantive issues - not tangential issues - in an argument

AfriqueDuZuid:
You cannot be biggest in West and Central when you are not part of those regions.

It's impossible for a Ukraine to say biggest in East and West Europe while it's located in East Europe.

So Kenya cannot claim biggest in Central while its not in Central or West regions
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 5:44am On Jan 27, 2022
Usual nonsense.Your budget tells us everything.Kenya is building things all over the country and at faster rate than Nigeria can dream of.Dont console yourself with its only tiny CBD.To match Kenya you need to do things four times..more.
68816419:
man, on a serious note, there is nothing spectacular about these projects, these are types of projects you find in smaller states in Nigeria. Our major issue with Kenyans is the fact that , %90 of your projects are concentrated at around Nairobi CBD. In Nigeria, take Borno state for example, the state just recently completed a huge flyover/underpass bridge , while the second one is ongoing, the state is also expanding it's sporting facilities and dualizating all it's roads, mega schools are also been built across the state and not only at Maiduguri(state capital) .kaduna buit massive 5 flyovers bridge in spate of 2 yrs,63+ dualized roads, massive sports centers among other massive projects, Ebonyi is also building 7 new beautiful flyovers, New international airport, new stadiums, massive road projects, and one of thelargest mall in Nigeria.
Rivers State is a no go area, the state is about completing it's 9 and 10th massive flyovers Bridges, akwa Ibom state is another state with countless flyover Bridges projects, new International airport, new stadiums...
I wouldn't dare to even mention Lagos and Abuja trust me,the projects in these states are mind blowing. Just today the state starts another massive flyover bridge at around Ojota asis of Lagos mainland, 4th mainland (34km) bridge is about to begin, 15km alternative lekki region road is getting completed, 6 lanes lekki epe express way is nearing completion as well,30km+ 10 lane oshodi expressway will be completed very soon, and countless other projects
Man, Nairobi can only compete with states like kaduna or even Borno when it's comes to road and highway Infrastructures.

Here some of such projects in northern Nigeria

Borno recently commissioned projects

Use future tense. Eko City is currently a lonely white elephant in the corner of Victoria Island.
samorobo:
Look I know a lot about waterfall city and most development in SA owing to the fact that I watch “livinginSA”. So yeah I can confidently tell you that waterfall is yet another menlyn city, rose bank, sandton and the likes, nothing futuristically impressive.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zVMC0F3B5s

The canal is an advanced transport option created to ease traffic and faster Urban movement in peak hours.
And your gautrain is just a drive through or stopover at the city,EAc has its own private train moving throughout the entire city not sharing with the rest of Lagos .

Waterfall like the rest of sandton and South Africa is anything but smart.eko Atlantic is 21st century city with cutting edge technology .you are basically replicating more previous south africa not future South Africa ,get the difference.
EAC is an energy efficient smart city that has a mandate for all its building to meet the “green EDGE standard”,same cannot be said fir sandton ,waterfall or the rest of SA likewise Europe and US.For starters no where in SA is even a smart city just some basic 20th century stuff.

https://www.ekoatlantic.com/our-green-commitment/

And I said eko Atlantic development phase 2 couldn’t take place so they sold it off to new developers which has incorporated airport, stadium into their city planning and its just adjacent eko Atlantic, nothing seperares both. Once they both developed it would look like they both grew together not knowing they are entirely different projects with different developer.by extension of their closeness visitors, residents can equally use the airport if this other city to get to EAC.

Just in case you missed this infrastructural marvel. Watch.

Why would BH storm Lagos or Abuja when they control territory, drive tanks and levy taxes - appoint governors and administrator in Nigeria.
Alshabaab and jihadist have been in somalis for 30yrs.
They never dared attack Kenya
When they tried with small grenades - kidnapping tourists - we crossed the border - and kicked them out of large swatche of Somalia.
They were shaking in their booths denying they were responsible for kidnapping smiley but we went ahead and kicked them out

BIG difference btw Kenya and Nigeria - day and night..

GeneralDae:
US does not fight Bokoharam for Nigeria, they just assist with weapons and some technological know how sometimes in the use of the weapons (which we buy actually).
Besides, while Al Shabbab could stroll into Nairobi anytime attacking mostly Nairobi (and still can, left to Kenyan military alone), Bokoharam and ISWAP for the most part fight within the chad/Nigerian Borders and mostly some villages in Borno state.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 11:19am On Jan 26, 2022
US after being beaten blue by Somalis in 1990s will never put troops in Somalia. They only use drones to kill Alshabaab. Alshabaab unlike BK is not just homegrown terror - it has fighters from American and European citizens - and those are the ones that interest the US.

Dont ever compare your cowardly Boko Haram with Somalis - that send chill down the spines every Western Army. Somalia= Afghan - because they can fight and fight and fight.

Somalis fought US Navy Seals for 24hours non-stop - brought Apache helicopters down, killed the Navy seals and dragged them in the city. US will never dare go to Somali again...they just cowardly shot them from the air using drones from Lamu and Djibutti...and Kenya troops are on the ground.

GeneralDae:
Why do you need U.S to fight Al Shabbab, I thought you said Malians are Cowards?

We are fighting Alshabaab in Somalia together with US, Ethiopia, Uganda and Burundi. That is our contribution to global peace. That is why Kenya is rank top 5 in world for contributing to global good.

They are not coming to assist us fighting internal terror - like US did in Nigeria - and French basically babysit the entire region.

NAIROBI, Kenya

The US will send troops to Kenya in a bid to aid East African countries in the war against al-Shabaab terrorists, local media reported Sunday.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab terrorists have plagued East African countries since 2006, leaving a trail of death, injuries, and suffering in their wake.

In a letter to the US Congress, “President Biden said that he had approved sending special operations troops to Kenya, which are expected to collaborate with the Kenyan military in combating Al-Shabaab. The number of troops is not indicated," Kenya’s Nation daily reported.

My Ethiopian friend was based in Mali - he tell me the moment the Islamist attack - gov forces basically run south. He told me he's never seen such cowardly people. The french do a great job in your cowardly nations.

GeneralDae:
rvp2018 some French guys have been caught in time past selling weapons to terror groups. Ever since they established military bases in West Africa in 2012, terror groups got strengthened and ISWAP grew wings. Frances have their drones and Military base in Chad not far from the Lake Chad Basin where ISWAP operates, yet they do nothing, they've only been interested in maintaining the leaders they want in Chad even resisting democracy for Chad. Yes we cooperate with US, Isreal & UK to fight international terror - but we dont have troops on the ground babysit us. In Manda Island we allow US to fly their drones from there. In Nanyuki we allow British soldiers to train in Kenya. We allow CIA/MOSSAD/M16 to operate in Kenya and share intelligence on international terror. That is how we arrested Nigeria KANU and shipped him back home. We spend more than a billion dollars annually on defence budget - and total security budget of nearly 3b dollars. You build capacity by executing small projects well - and progressing. There are kenya contractors doing small raods. Chinese started from there - worked on delivering on time, on cost and on quality. You cannot climb the tree from the top like the shoddy Nigeria contractor who took 5yrs to do 4kms road - and in the end they damaged it's own reputation and entire Nigeria contractor reputation in Kenya road construction.

So how can you build your own capacity if you keep giving all the major contracts to foreigners?

You little Indians are always so gungho about anything foreign be it Indian, Chinese, white or even Nigerian. No wonder you gave a major road project in Nairobi to a Nigerian company.
