We are making progress eventually.
Thanks to the Mamas that made me understand it's a gradual process.

My baby now opens mouth by herself. Takes like 5 to 6spoons and that is it. I know we will graduate to finishing a bowl soon.

Am worried about water, her poop is now thick, what's the recommended water consumption per day for above 6months?

My hubby suggested i put my baby's food in a bottle. I tried it twice yesterday and he finished all. But I'm not sure I'll keep doing that sha, he needs to learn with spoon.

As per water, give as often as u can especially as the weather is hot now.

Have seen a doctor, everything came out fine except her throat that appeared redish and she prescribed some antibiotics. We are done with it still no improvement.

I used nestle nan, we have been on it since her 5th month , she take it, am just concerned about the quantity she takes per time. 120ml.

Do you think she will take more if I change brands?

As for food introduced so far
Apple puree..she took it at first, but rejected it few spoons.
Banana too.
Nutribon wheat_ that's the only one I can be singing and giving her and she will open mouth small.
Then just recently Ogi Baba which she rejected too.

We are in the same shoes. What have i not tried? 5 different cereal brands. Home made purees: potatoes, bananas, plantain, rice, apple, pear etc. Sometimes i wonder if i will ever lose weight cos i end up eating everything.

The only thing he manages well is ogi, even now sef he is doing shakara. Somehow he is adding weight still and i spoke to the paed, i was told to keep trying and as long as he still takes breastmilk.

My friend breastfed her daughter actively for 9months + cos she just would not eat, still her daughter is even fatter than my son. So my dear, i will keep trying, infact i pray about it these days.

Berger suya, is it the one at ajegunle? If it is, i won't try that area o, it is quite rough plus all those 1million boys wahala. Ago is fairly ok. Personally, i can't stay in ajah, water problems plus it is at the extreme end. I would go for ago, there are lots of schools there, especially at okota.

Amen, yes i asked my husband he told me the doctor said he havin low sperm count frm his result and he said he place him on drug which he is using, so today i was given an appointment at hospital and i met another doctor,the first thing he asked was my husband and ask me if am aware of his result i told him i dont know and he asked me why ?i explained to him that the last time we came to hospital that d doctor we met ask me to escuse him and my husband,d doctore was amazed and he was like it shouldnt be that we are in this together,he told me my husband does not have any speerm count and thank God we are in a global world ,i went online to check its azoospermia.This shouldnt have happen to my husband he is a very nice man and i love him and he ask us to nxtime that he will explain everything to us. please i dont know if there is anyone in the house that have experience this and conquor it please tell me what you use so i can try it with my husband.Thank u all

When is the last advisable time to go for scan,at 38 weeks or 40weeks?

At my hospital, towards the tail end of pregnancy, antenatal becomes weekly and scan is done at every visit. That's how my doctor saw that my fluid was reducing and i had my son on the exact day i was 37weeks.

I would also like to know if scan can detect cord round the neck. It is so sad.

omololaray did you ask your husband what they discussed? They are clearly hiding something. Why would a medical practioner ask the wife to leave when the issue is about both partners? I've never seen where that is done.

You know your husband better, talk to him cos you both need to resolve this together. Women know how to talk to their men when they need something, do what u need to do. He needs to be on your side and be open. You can equally run tests on your own at a reputable lab to rule out anything on your end.

Babies yoghurt is different from adult yoghurt. Probiotic?? Or probiotic? Get ur info right. Habib yoghurt in anyway doesnt qualify for a probiotic yoghurt.

Ve worked with many yoghurt, some doesn't contain any live microbes, some are just milk acidified with lactic acid, while some are just milk flavored thicken with gelatin and starch yoghurt.

Check those who make fresh yoghurt on IG and see what d cost of 1litre fresh is and compare

Anyway u r free to give ur child what u think is fine but I will advise

Ok, now that you have broken it down like this, i agree with you. But not to say yoghurt made from cow milk isn't ok for babies.

What formula are you giving him. Maybe it's the iron content in it. GB had similar poop at 6 months ish when we tried Gerber cereal, finally had to stop the cereal even tho she was taking it well.

Our normal nan, that's what he has always used. No diet changes.

No changes at all in his diet. No ewedu. Same old stuff we eat. But do u think i should be concerned?

Habib yogurt is made from our regular cow milk which children less than 12month cannot digest and utilize properly. Children start taking adult milk from 12months and same applies to yoghurt. I ll advise u get yoghurt made from baby formula

If that's your reason, then you are wrong. Cow milk is broken down completely. Yoghurt are a great first foods for babies cos of its prebiotic properties. Do your research.

Mamas abeg my son poop has been green for some days now, say 3 days. Since we started solids he poops thick brown smelly poop like once in 2 or 3 days ( sorry, tmi) but for 3 days now, its been green and he goes like 3 times a day. The consistency is almost like the yellow new born poop but it is thicker. No vomiting, no temperature, he is his normal self. Could it be teething? He is 7months + and no teeth yet. What should i do? Or is it normal?

my doctor travelled out before so he reffered me to another gynea that one also prescribed the same treatment,ma i dont understand the rhesus factor thing kindly explian ma.

There's no need sending me the results as I'm not in the medical field. I just felt some people might chip in a thing or two if they knew the name but I'm sorry i didn't consider the sensitivity of the issue. It is well.

Operation know your Rhesus Factor

I learnt about Rhesus factor in biology class but the full ramification never hit as the information in this post has. PHYSIOLOGICAL BLOOD GROUP AWARENESS Ifeoma got married in the year 2010, from that time till now she has been rocked with 10 heart breaking miscarriages. To her, she blames the terrible experience on the witches in her village, she doesn't know that she and the Nigerian dysfunctional system is the cause of her predicament. I will tell you how, seat back and enjoy this brief lecture. Have you ever heard of the word Rhesus factor? Rh factor is a protein that can be present on the surface of the red-blood cell. People that have the Rh factor are Rh positive +, those who do not have the Rh factor are grouped as Rh negative-. The + and - in front of the blood group is the rhesus factor. So we A+, A-, O+, O-, B+, B-, AB+, AB-. Rhesus factor is genetic, it's gotten from the parents emphatically the man. Now that we are clear on what Rh factor is let us move further to why I said Ifeoma is the cause of her miscarriages . If you are Rh positive eg (a+, b+, o+, ab+) you are safe, but if you are negative eg (a-, B-, AB-, O-) you are not. If are a male Rh - you are safe, if you are a female you aren't safe. If you a rh- woman and you get pregnant for a man who is rh- you are safe but if you get pregnant for a man who is Rh+ you aren't safe. Most people are Rh positive only very few are negative, the possibility for a rh- woman to find a rh- man is slim, that's where the problem lies. Let us assume Ifeoma is rh- and during her school days she aborted a pregnancy, the man who got her pregnant then was rh+, obviously her baby was rh+. During abortion, the rh+ blood came in contact with her rh- blood. That was the beginning of her problem. Once rh- comes in contact with an rh+, a certain antibodies are activated. This antibodies are activated to stop anything they think is a threat from coming into the body. E.g a baby. A rh- woman with an activated antibodies would keep having miscarriages, the antibodies would keep fighting and taking off any foetus. The woman might end up childless and if not properly informed might think she is under a demonic oppression, she will be spending nights in Churches out of ignorance. She may even think that God has forsaken Her. Women with activated antibodies are RH sensitized and once this antibodies are activated it can never be deactivated until the woman dies. Antibodies are activated in a rh- woman by abortion, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and child birth. During child birth of a rh- woman who got pregnant by a rh+ man, children inherit their rhesus factor from the man so once the baby's rh+ comes in contact with the woman rh- during delivery the antibodies are immediately activated so after that particular child birth the woman would keep having miscarriages because the activated antibodies would as usual fight off any foreign body. The antibodies can be stopped from being activated by administering an injection known as Rh Immunoglobulin to a negative woman . The injection is administered 28wks into pregnancy, 72 hrs after delivery, after ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion. If it's not administered and the antibodies are activated, it would never be deactivated. Because our dysfunctional health system doesn't promote proper rhesus factor sensitization, Ifeoma is left helpless after one mistake. Mothers tell your girls and sisters, a rh- girl must be extremely careful. Because of the very small number of rh- people, it's extremely rare to find a rh- man. The possibility to get pregnant for a rh+ man is high. Once she gets pregnant for a positive man and rushes to have a quick abortion, she might have as well jeopardized her future for life. Apart from this, a woman with a negative rhesus factor has no problem. it can however be controlled with rh Immunoglobulin injection. A rh- man or woman cannot receive blood donation from a rh+. it would lead to death as the blood would immediately clog and cake. Operation know your rhesus factor today. Check into any near by hospital and test your blood group.

For ur baby's age, u can blend the okro. Add blended crayfish, also debone Titus fish and add to it pls make sure u remove all the bone o

U cook it like u cook normal okro for adults.

This is how I cook mine

I put little palm oil in the pot. Very little o, I fry a bit of crafish, then I add the fish stock (when my son was that young i didn't add pepper but now that he older i add a little pepper) after adding the fish stock, if the water wont be enough I add a bit more, when it boils I add the okro and stir and leave it to cook on low heat. I add very little salt to taste. Very little salt o.

Then make the semo soft so it is easy to swallow

Garri, semo, fufu and the normal family soup, you only need to make sure there's no bone in hers and not much pepper. But to be extra careful, you can make hers too. Blend the okro to be smoother. Wash the fish yourself and debone thoroughly then cook the soup like your normal okro but no pepper,
just a little salt and no msg.

Have u tried semo and okro soup? My son doesn't eat either but give him semo and okro soup anytime and he will eat the quantity an adult should eat.

No need to be worried, you can do a blood test. Hope for the best

Thanks ma it was my doctor that prescribed d clomid for those cycles and all were monitored with TVS. Will look into d options u mentioned.

Pls be careful of such doctors o. Clomid for 6 cycles straight is alarming, very alarming.

Let me tell u what i do. I buy habib yoghurt, unsweetened one, then add any fruit i have to sweeten it. Most times i give like that or i add to pap. Nagari farm yoghurt is ok too but I just stick with habib sha.

PS. Your son is the real mvp for eating all these o.

Pls how can i give my son fried plantain and spaghetti? He is 7months +. My fear is how do i ensure he doesn't choke. Do i need to mash them up? Abeg chook mouth sabi mamas.

Give it one year now and you would be screaming 'Sorry, get up, I told you so' from the bathroom. No need to feel horrible, next time you would know to push him in and barricade with pillows before you get up, they operate like lightening.

Dalu nne. I barricaded him in the middle with enough pillows o, he climbed over them. I just didnt expect he would be that fast. Gave him pcm afterwards and so far he has been himself. I really thank God it wasn't serious.

My 7months old son fell from the bed. I feel soooooooooo horrible. He was watching cartoon and playing with my phone, i decided to use that opportunity to arrange his bath, next thing i heard was his cry . I sharply ran out of the bathroom.

Sorry o but if your baby doesn't end up chubby, won't you love him regardless? Your concern should be a healthy baby not a chubby baby. He is just 3weeks, feed him well and watch him flourish.
