I know what you're thinking... I use hot water before and after use to clean it up.

Lol, my dear, i'm not thinking anything o. I've not been making purees cos i was scared of using my own blender as I cant get a new one now.

Note: I added sweet potato to the recipe to sweeten the meal.

Thanks dear rvpbae, it's a local flight and it's an hour 15 mins(Abuja to Lagos). So do I need to go with a baby carrier?

I have never used a carrier, that's why i said i make my hand luggage as free as possible, so i can shuffle him around and not worry about his weight. Some people use carrier sha but i don't know how they breastfeed or of baby is left in the carrier all through.

For now, I've only travelled locally with my baby, with max airtime of 1hour. I still actively breastfeed him, so i just take a bottle of water in my bag. I breastfeed and give water if needed. Dress him appropriately because it can be really cold. I also keep my hand luggage as free as possible, i only take one diaper and wipes ( which i have never used), his handkerchief and a thick shawl.

I equally request for a window seat to make breastfeeding quite easy. I also ensure to wear a buttton down top, so it's easy for me to feed him. Try to ensure u are breastfeeding when taking off and when landinf because of the ear thingy, it makes my son cry.

I took him to a pediatrician and without any test he told me he has sepsis cerebral palsy just cos he had serious jaundice at birth and had to do blood transfusion. I looked up for symptoms but he doesn't have any. he sat without support at 5months, his neck was fully controlled even before he was 3months n people were surprised, he rolls over, when in lying position he gets up n sits on his own, he claps, babbles, he put his legs in his mouth n his hands on his head, he kneels, jumps on his knees, maintains good eye contact n does not drool, he is a foodie eats anything FOOD. I'm just confused cos d doctor said he has cerebral palsy as a result of d jaundice but his bilirubim level was about 16% before d blood transfusion. pls any mother with this kind of experience?

Did you see a doctor just because he isn't crawling yet or something else was amiss? I don't see why that's a problem when you have a healthy baby. And hope you know not every baby crawl, some start walking instead. My niece didn't crawl. I don't know the kind of paed you saw o but pls seek a second opinion.

You shouldn't be sitting in hot water since you were stitched,you will end up loosening them up and delay the healing process( assuming it hasn't already happened). Use lukewarm water instead.

No dear, this is MMR and Chicken Pox vaccines. Before 2 years. Private hospitals tend to jack up prices on vaccines they know Govt isn't giving out (this includes Rotavirus and MengC). They have to make money somehow so I can't really blame them.

Can you pls post your immunisation schedule? The one i have is quite different from the one sourced online.

Pls does who give green peas, what type do you use? Fresh or frozen? Getting fresh here is something else, can only see green beans which i don't even like sef.

I read somewhere here that some babies react that way to Rota. Some mamas complained of such, although my son didn't react to it at all.

Good morning all. I'm not very happy o. I complained about spotting last week. So the spotting continued n was even worse as the Dr told me it's too early to give any drugs. So I went for another scan on Monday and I will told no fetal signs seen, blighted ovum /anembryonic gestation. That I should go for evacuation. That's how I lost my pregnancy at 7weeks . I'm so down. I don't know what to do.

There's nothing you can do. Doctor has told you the weight is fine, he is the expert here, so let it be. Besides these scan results aren't always accurate plus you have a month to go, baby will still add weight.

Please o, who knows if aju mbaise can be used in 1st week of delivery. My mom came for omugwo with it and I'm not too comfortable drinking it now. I thought it's for menstrual pain and conception? How is it that it's also used to cook ji mmiri oku. She got it for me in 2nd year of ttc and said it's for menstrual pain. I had less pain the month I used it though. Now she's saying it will make my tummy to reduce faster... Is it even safe for baby?

Yes you can take it. Safe for both you and baby

I just noticed sudocreme bleaches. It is effective against rashes but turned my baby to onye ocha just after 3days of use. I have stopped using it on him . I converted it to my own use and it is also working on pimples. I just noticed it is bringing out the blackhead inside the pimple b4 working on it.

You mean it brings out the blackheads and dries the pimples? You don't have to press it out? I have serious blackheads issue. Make me sef reason am o

My hubby said it was a doctor that prescribed abidec to help build his immunity since he is not being breastfed exclusively. He also said the doctor advised we change to wellkid as soon as he gets to 3months. That it will help him build immunity that exclusive breast feeding would have given him. The doctor is a consultant ( heart surgeon) and not a paed.

You said it yourself, a consultant, not a paed. What has abidec got to do with immunity? Isn't abidec a multivitamin?

Don't pump your baby's system with unnecessary medication. He really doesn't need it. Some people evem add ampiclox to abidec, that it cures jaundice.

mamatwiny your baby doesn't need abidec. Giving him every day isn't cool. Although my mum bought abidec too for my son then, she didnt give him everyday and infact i stopped totally at about one month sef.

Senior mums, i need help.

My son is 6months +, we just started solids, so far we do solids maximum of 2times a day. Sometimes, once and at other times, he takes just a few spoons and wants nothing with it.

Since we started solids, sometimes he poops once in 2days, at other times, twice or once a day. Now, this is day 3 and no poop yet. I'm yet to give him any food today, yesterday he ate solid once and 2days ago, two times. He drinks his water well and still on breastmilk.

Please what can i do? I'm trying not to be worried cos he farts ALOT and it is smelly, stomach isn't hard and he is his usual self. Can i give orange, maybe dilute it a little?

Pls answer biko.

Gud morning everyone, one of my friend is pregnant and she's at 38 weeks already and ds breaking water of a thing happened to her at 37 weeks up till now she has not labour.. Tell your friend to quickly check into another hospital. How can her water break for over one week and hospital is asking her to wait? Is she certain her water broke? Or maybe just a leak?

I was in a labour for a day and half and i didnt even know. Got to the hospital on the second day,dr noticed my fluid was low and in his words 'the baby has to come out'.

All in all, hospital asap and get a scan done.

Thank God for this thread, very timely. Now my issue, my son clocked 6months 5days ago. We did ebf but a week b4 he clocked 6months, i introduced water and homemade pap. Both of which he took very well, infact i was surprised because i was just testing the waters. When he was about 5months, i tried introducing formula to him in a bottle, which he absolutely rejected. Now we struggle with barely 30ml of formula. I still breastfeed actively.

For the past two days, it has been a struggle to get him to take the pap. Just a few spoons and he rejects it and this is someone that finishes the whole bowl. I tried another cereal, same thing. What do i do?

But reading thru your post, i see i have other options to choose from. Which is safe as a weaning meal because I'm sure he is too early for all that food combo. I also need to get a blender for him, so i can try the purees. I don't want an underfed child.

Lastly, is milo safe for him?
