What can I do to make a 16days old baby to poo

She only poo on the day she was born since then

Has she passed out all the meconium? Is she exclusively fed? Showing any signs of discomfort?

You can give him after breastfeeding if he seems not satisfied. I think you can start with 60 mls to observe him and also give water.
The instructions to mix is on the pack of the milk but it's usually 30 mls of water to 1 level scoop of formula.

My son doesn't like water so when I noticed he hasn't drank water for a while I give him water first before formula.

Ok. Thank you. How much water do i need to give pls? And is it at anytime during the day?

Absolutely necessary? I'm not sure. paediatricians seem to have two opinions on this ; some say first deworming should be at 6 months then next after 6 months interval while some believe first dose should be at 1 year.

Experienced mums pls i need your help. Been feeding my 5months old son exclusively but i think he needs more, he can suck for africa and way too frequent these days.

I want to supplement with formular. Pls how can i do this? When am i supposed to give it to him? How many ml should i start with? Also how do i incorporate water into this mix?

please is pelvic scan compulsory .dr is saying I should do it nextwk;my mom and MIL said i shouldnt that they did not do it in their time and they delivered safely.

My dear sister, please kindly endeavour to do a scan. The scan is just to ensure that all is well, it is a routine procedure.

scan did not see anything, even d PT that was positive b4 is now showing negative, she is spotting blood but not much and not clothed blood , she can feel d pregnancy but doctor did see anything, she has not been ttcing before

This is serious o. Let her check with a specialist and the masseuse should be questioned.

Thanks dear over here in akwa ibom that hanger is 6500 my friend bought it last month, wow how I wish I see someone that can help buy some things over there and waybill it for me, the expenses here is too high

According to the exchange rate as at today, that hanger is close to 8k. So the 6500 u got is cheaper. That being said, I'm in uyo and things are expensive here, ridiculously expensive. Although there are hangers of 5k.

What we do now is drive to Aba. We mostly get routine things here. Or i buy in lagos and my sister waybills to me.

I don't think you are. Is he gaining weight? You can offer more and see if he will accept.

Pregnacare contains just 400 microgram..It is not even up to 1miligram..

Exactly. If you are taking pregnacare, top it up with your normal folic acid.

If he's eating well and the consistency is normal just watch him for another 24 hours
Maybe he (you) ate something that isn't sitting quite right with him and he's getting rid of it

I don't think there's any need to be worried here since the poo is the same consistency and he's still feeding fine. You should be worried if the poo is watery or greenish with mucous like but since it's not no need worrying however, check what you have been eating recently or something you just introduced to him. He will be fine...

doctors Say pooping even up to 6times is normal.as long as there is no temperature and the consistency is normal

Thank you all. Must be those darn cornflakes i bought and took yesterday, that's the only new thing I've taken. I even took it again today. Haven't had cornflakes in moooonths.

Pls mamas abeg my son has been pooing steady aince yesterday. Today now he has pooed 3times, yesterday was more. He is 4months plus. No temperature, poo is normal consistency, he is still his active self and sucks more than ever.

Should i be worried? He has been producing saliva for weeks now, which people have attributed to teething.

And they asked me to see a gynecologist...pls is there anything serious in it....because I know our moms use to ask about children been born with their cord on their neck....and they said there is no big deal in it....

Still see a doctor. I know it can be severe in some cases.

DS is 4months and he produces saliva now, people say it is teething. But the spits end up wetting his top and neck area which i think is d cause of the rashes there, very tiny. Not much but visible. I wear bib now and change his top if i notice it is wet, i even started applying powder to absorb moisture. Sometimes it reduces, at other times it comes back.

At all, 8weeks isn't late. A woman came with her son for first dose and he was 6months.

We've taken the 6weeks shots on Tuesday17th except for Rota1.
We now have a proper immunization schedule card and satisfied with service delivery at the new place though time consuming(Gen Hosp. ish).

How do we go about the Rota1 thing? Where can we get it please?

Most mamas here, myself included got ours at Ambode Health Center at shomolu for free. I got mine at 7weeks, as rota wasnt available at my hospital.

Ambode immunisation days are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Search for ambode health center here, you will see the address and description.

Pls, mummies can I take apetamin syrup? It was recommended by my sis. I am just 7weeks gone and food is hell, intact, I don't eat or drink water, hence I have lost so much weight. So sis said the drug will make me eat and help me gain weight. About the malaria, Dr said I should endure till 8wks before I start treatment since the pregnancy is high risk. I don't know what to do, I just tire. God help us.

Mama see ehn, you just have to try. I was in your shoes and i waa miserable cos i could not eat nor drink anything. I also had malaria at that stage amd couldn't be treated too.

I had to check myself at the hospital when i felt worse. I was given drips to rehydrate me. I put iceblock in my mouth and allow it melt, that was the only way i could drink water. I eat very small potions and i avoid brushing when i do cos else i vomit it all. Mint gum was also a staple for me.

You just have to make effort, for ur baby's sake. It is tough but know it will only last a while. Consult ur doctor as per apetamin.

Atadyn was what my doc recommended as nursing mom friendly when I had the flu as a new mom. It has same components as piriton(antihistamines) though.

my daughter is 9 weeks now. and it has not been easy for me with constant sleepless night due to her sleeping routine. But I give God the glory for allowing me to experience the joys of motherhood.

Around last week, i noticed a slight pain in my left hand when i got up from bed. And I still feel it till now. Sometimes, I find it difficult to lift up my baby from the bed due to the pain. I don't know the cause oo. Is it in anyway related to childbirth?

Mama is yours on the wrist too? I woke up with such pain, it got so bad i couldn't brush my teeth well. But now, weeks after, it is waay better

Mamas pls can i take piriton for cold? I'm exclusively breastfeeding my almost 4months baby. If not pls what can i do for this catarrh to leave me sharp sharp. I dont want to risk infecting my son.

Breastmilk is the perfect food, gentle on their tummy, no potential allergens, nothing, just perfect
Formula is intermediate some babies react some don't - milk of which various brands exist with various natural and synthetic nutrients and supplements
Solids, such as pap is a whole other territory entirely - millet, guineacorn, soyabeans, jero, plus all sorts of grains - some people add ginger...etc etc
Introducing solids from exclusive feeding is jumping the gun in my opinion, A baby actually only needs milk for the first 6 months. Thats it, nothing else. A baby who was always combi fed can cope easier with solids at 4 plus months (so far the baby is sitting ok oh). Exclusive babies need more time

I always advise breastmilk and formula only for the first 6 months
If you have any specific reason to introduce solids (impatient mummy/baby not seeming satisfied) start at 5 months with age appropriate cereals only

I initial plan was to do EBF, still on it sha but i want to start shedding my baby weight and I'm scared that it will affect my milk supply. My DS sabi suck, as in he sucks a loooot

1. When his neck control is very good. Follow his cues but I suggest 4 months
2. No pap for exclusive baby biko. He needs to take formula first. You can start pap when you have established your formula and breastfeeding well (anytime from 5 months at the earliest).
3. Formula and BM is very ok up till 6 months sef

If i understand you correctly, are u saying exclusive breastfed babies shouldn't be introduced directly to pap? Any reason in particular? Or is it about the age?

My son would be 4 months soon and i planned on introducing pap to him then. Do i need to start with formular first, say till 5months, then do pap? Or just start pap at 4months?

If you must use savlon, just very very little is ok. I used wash cloth for my baby in his early days. Now we have graduated to a very soft foam.

It was based on the instruction by the matron. The issue is the pain he has to endure whenever I try to press the penis.

I have decided to halt the pressing and just wait till Friday so they can remove it themselves.

Plus the swelling is something else.

Please take him back there. I was equally told it would swell but i should watch out for anything outrageous. It didn't even swell after that day. Also stop pressing it. Allow ring to fall of b4 applying penicillin.

I think the pain is from the pressing or swelling cos my son felt better by the next day even. Also hope u keep the pampers loose and well lubricated.
