JGracious: Good. Ojuelegba is quite close to Ambode health centre at somolu where you can get it for free. I think its on Tuesdays.
Use uber/taxify if you're not going with a personal ride for comfort and ease.
its not too late to get it at 8wks. If possible after getting the first dose, stay for another 4wks in lagos to get the second dose. Ok..thank you |

lightedpath: I also need this information. The last time I went to UUTH for 12months immunization, the nurse told me they only give vitamin A cos they don't have those diseases down here and asked that I go to pharmacy to buy if I really want to. Eventually got the shot at Ibadan when I travelled. I'm surprised that the whole teaching hospital that should be models to others could say that. UCH in Ibadan will encourage you to get every vaccine possible.... Even when you have to pay. Imagine that. 30k for 2 shots is very pricey. Do you think i can take the vaccine much later? |

StrongWoman333: Mama's please o I have something bothering me. Since my pregnancy I've not been attending antenatal because it is every Monday's and I don't want to be taking permission for antenatal classes... the only thing I do is always see the doctor on every appointment, run tests and take tt injections. Now my fear is that I'm a ftm
1. I don't even know how to bathe a newborn hope I won't have any challenges when baby arrives?
2. I don't know if they teach mothers how to push in antenatal classes how will I do so when it's time? Will it occur naturally
And please what other things do they teach in antenatal classes? Hope I'm not missing much?
The only consolation I have is that there is always google, YouTube videos etc where I can easily learn those things. Hope I'm on the right path? Bebe calm down. Whether you go antenatal or not, as a ftm, when baby comes, you will everly encounter challenges. For me, i was taught how to push, how to bathe baby, still on still, couldn't bathe my baby till he was 3weeks. As per pushing, the first time i did, the nurse said i was just playing , someone had to lift my shoulder up. So long as u see your doctor and you are certified to be ok, then no ish. Just that antenatal will give u the opportunity to share ideas and ask questions. Personally, i never liked antenatal classes. I just wanted to do my scan, do tests and go home. |

I tire o. What of us that lick ice block? My baby is kicking at 6weeks here. |

36.anything °c is very normal. You should begin to watch it when it crosses 37°c and begin to worry only when it crosses 37.5°c. Your baby is very much OK, fret not. Thank you ma. Baby is ok this morning. |

Hi mamas. Pls this is urgent. My 6weeks old boy has been warm since morning, took his temperature three time today and I've had 36.7, 36.3 and 36.5 consecutively.
Pls is this normal or what is considered normal temperature? I'm a FTM and I'm thinking of going to the hospital. Nothing out of his ordinary in his routine. His forehead just feels warm to touch. |

Jessie21: Is it okay to bath a new born baby with dettol bar soap? I no get experience for that area but I'm not sure it's wise as it may be too strong for their delicate skin. Most people, myself included, do not use dettol disinfectant sef, we use savlon cos it's milder. |

hunniesuzie: Baby carrier, You don't need to pay for an extra seat (but you'll pay a little extra for his "ticket" . It's a short flight so you should be fine. For take off and landing they'll give you a belt extender so you can strap him properly. Dress him normally for the weather and take a shawl so you can cover him if necessary Nimi22: Yes you can breastfeed. He shouldn't be cranky but you know babies react differently. Thank you |

I wore him a sleep suit and body suit as usual, but since he's 8 weeks old you can dress him up properly I mean any clothe of your choice. I didn't pay for extra seat cos I used a baby carrier, he was strapped to my chest throughout. I can't remember how much I paid for an infant but it was less than 4k. Thanks so much. How about feeding? I'm breastfeeding, can i do that onboard? Hope baby won't be cranky sha. |

Well as for Abuja, if my mum's youngest sis (their last born) won't have time to come to uyo, then I'll just go perch there with them. So the two of them will take turns in doing omugwo. That's the best o. So you will rest cos trust me, you are going to need it. All the best. |

goldendollars: Hello Mummies!
Please i want to know the best lotion and soap to use for a newborn. Im a first time mom and am so confused... please i need suggestions. thank you. In my opinion, there is no best soap or lotion. The koko is for your baby not to react to it. I use boots products for my son and so far, it's been good. Although i don't use d lotion now, i use olive oil. I even have coconut oil. People here have testified to sebamed too, albeit pricey. Chicco, cussons etc |

BlessedDiva: Oh maybe they attend to pregnant women fast, if I go there for normal malaria treatment na so I go dey there o to collect result and see doctor Kwan, na war. When i was admitted there in dec, we were sharing bathroom with men haba now! Couldnt even ask for private room cos i was brought in by 1am and i wasnt seeing well. The next day i got better and asked them to discharge me kia kia. Then the last time I went there in jan b4 I conceived I left there without collecting my result because I was so hungry and tired. Me I no know ikpa. Was using athanasius hosp when we just arrived(I can have malaria ehn too much mosquitoes down here) their their case was something I can't handle, we changed to premier but they are all same to me. In fact I'm confused, may just do Abuja because I lived there for long and secondly for omugwo because 2 of my mum's younger sisters live there with their families since i dont have mum to come take care of me and baby again. Sharing bathroom with men kwa? Mbanu! Even the general ward is for 3 people with 2 toilets. Ive been admitted twice there. Maybe u used the semi private room, that one has the tpilet outside. Babes if u can, abeg go to abuja. Not because of anything o but u will need all the help u can get especial at a Ftm. My eyes see something cos my baby came at exactly 37weeks, no help, no experience. Thank God I had already boughy everything and packed my bags since. Infact i cried the day i was discharged. It was overwhelming. |

BlessedDiva: Mama that premier can take your whole day away from you abeg. I'm with Nissi specialist hospital now it's so very private and quiet, you stay with the doc chat as long as you want but I need to meet other mamas and share expeeiences since im a ftm so I would love another good clean hosp. Contemplating going to abj for delivery sha still discussing with dh. All those eatery and their foods don't really love eateries it's only Kilimanjaro coconut rice I have tasted and it's nice. Uyo doesnt really have very clean and high tech hospitals, the docs are always using one tiny screen for their scans unlike asi ukpo in cali, but you are so right uyo is calm and peaceful even more peaceful than cali. Moved here a year ago. I delivered in premier a month ago. Although their antenatal classes weren't so 'insightful'. The matron really tried, she would explain and talk till u understand but no clear guidelines as per what they should talk about. And me no send sef, cos it was my first time and i always just wanted to scan, see doctor and go. I no dey like all those clap clap and sing sing things, say what u will say, make i comot plus i had google, my mum plus sil to ask all my questions. Scans are on every antenatal days. I usually miss some days sef on purpose cos i was that uninterested. As per crowd, i no see wetin people dey always complain about o. You come early, you leave early. I get there, say 10 ish and i leave around 1ish. The lectures go on first, then u see the doctor. I liked my dr sha, dr Essien, he would answer all questions, was patient and jovial. My neighbour talked about another hospital she intends to deliver at, can't remember the name but she say e dey ikpa road side( abeg i no know where ikpa road dey). But she registered with premier for antenatal. I would definitely use them again if i still dey naija sha. |

In other news, Pls Is there anywhere I can get correct party jollof rice not maggi jollof rice oo lol Sister forget that party jollof rice o. Them no sabi cook am here. Moving here a year ago, food was a major challenge. I grew up in lagos, where food variety plenty, so you can imagine what i went thru. I used to like kilimajanro ofada sauce but now everything there tire me. I cook at home and eat, except for white soup with poundo, my hubby has one sharp place he gets them ( even now sef, the white soup don tire me). I miss my amala, ofada, smokey party jollof rice. Can't wait to travel next month. |
