I still don't know what my baby weighs or time he was born. Just happy he is here and we are well. He came this morning at 37weeks, sometime around past 3. Vaginal delivery with small tear. Has been asleep since, although fed him formular around 10am. Is it time to eat again? I'm all alone here, no help yet. I just ate peppersoup now now, courtesy a friend.

I brought it here when i started having contractions on Wednesday night, as JJC, i no sabi anything, especially because i went for antenatal on Tuesday and was told all was well. The contractions were quite subtle and just off and on and irregular.

On Thursday night, same thing. Continued all thru the day. I managed it till it became severe on friday. I quickly arranged some things and went to the hospital in the evening around 6pm. Saw doctor and he said to check me to know if i was in labour ( just like that? But luckily hubby shaved me that morning).

Doctor checked ( i hate it) and said i was 4cm and needed to go get my things .Lol, hubby confused. All the while contractions were coming o but very bearable. Got home, carried bags, bought a few things, then got admitted. Meanwhile i had only eaten around 10am that day o.

Around 10pm, doctor checked again, 5cm. He suggested i climb stairs, i did like 5 times and got tired. I went to lie down and contractions came knocking. I didn't shout or anything. I'll sleep and contractions would wake me, then I'll squeeze hubby's hand.

Then all of a sudden, contractions became x10, i no shout o, all d while was lieing down. The strongest one came that felt as if baby's head was coming, hubby asked to call matron, i said no. Second time, in less than 3mins, with greater force, i told him to call the woman, i tried standing but felt like baby was falling, i told d woman, i want to poo and that baby was pushing me, she said don't push o. I enter delivery room, that's where i saw stars.

All the contraction was child's play oooooo. Jesus. I kept shouting, she said don't shout cos she was chooking hand and it was paining me. I felt one contraction, she say make i push, the woman dey laugh me say i dey play. I stopped.

Second push, she kept pulling my perineum and telling me to push, i did, she was like good, good but the pain was baaaad. I stopped.

Third push, one assistant ( God bless her), gave me a pillow and raised me up so i cld look at my stomach to push as the matron dey threaten to cut me. I said no no, ill push. Lol. I gave this my all, i swear at this point, it felt like my soul was gone, i was seeing bright lights, i didn't even know baby was out till i heard him cry.

Plenty things happened in that labour room that i can't type. Anyhow i got cleaned, placenta came out, stitched and was just lying down.

I give God glory cos it wasn't me in there. In my opinion, contraction weren't thaaat bad, painful but bearable. You see to push ehn, with d way the woman dey drag the perineum down, dipping her finger in too, i saw hell. I was in pains but baby is fine and thats all that matters. I dey ginger to go house tomorrow, here don tire me.

It is not even consistent. Sometimes 15mins apart, sometimes hours apart, sometimes 20 sef and pain isn't increasing.

Is this what they call Braxton Hicks?

Sorry about that. That's how i left my books when i got married and they burned them with the excuse that i dindn't need them again. Someone use to bring the books from Lagos but he is no more doing the business. I buy from supermarkets if i happen to see a good one (mostly they have romance) or i read online (I do this a lot but be prepared for medicated glasses if you indulge in this) on goodreads.com or just google free reads and use any of the options.

Please for those of us in 37/38 weeks, please did you guys experience this painful cramps? From way below my belle, i experienced this contraction that wants to tear my pelvis. Like a strong pull down there.

I had it all thru last night, comes and go. I only slept when it stopped and i wake immediately it starts, all thru last night o and continued all thru today, couldn't sleep. Although it got better this afternoon but immediately i cooked, it came back.

I complained about my spotting to my gynae on Tuesday , after all, he said i was ok and it is to be expected. Although it stopped sha and i think i saw it again yesterday but he said i should come running if i start leaking water or see bright red blood.

Please answer o. I beg you

Shaki/cowleg can be bought from Akpan Andem Market but you have to go early (from 12 noon). Just ask for directions in the market to where the meat line is.

As for hang out spot, my dear, i'm not the outgoing type. Give me a good novel and constant light and you won't even see me outside. But i have been to karaoke night at Le Meridien (someone from work had a get-together there so i branched). It was fun though i can't remember which day it was. You may wanna check it out.

Thank you. I went to Akpan Andem to check one time, where i was told to go to was far. I kept walking in and they kept saying 'keep going'. At a point, i was tired, bought goat meat and chartered keke home. I can't do wahala with this bele.

Where do you buy books? I've been disturbing hubby to help me. My old novels can fill must go bags but all in lagos.

The 'dangerous' part of the pineapple is actually the core. So if you can cut that part out, you can do whatever you wish with it. All in all, moderation is key.

From me, I'll say you need to worry less. I was in your shoes too. I never used ovulation sticks but from what i learned here, a positive doesn't necessarily mean you ovulated, it means there's a surge in lh or so, which indicates that you are about to ovulate.

As per hubby staying away from sex for one week, hmmm, my doctor told me different. Sperm dies or weakens after a few days, say 4 to 5, if it isn't ejaculated. That is, if after 5days and no se.xx, that Sperm isn't exactly ' perfect' but after that, the next one to come is. I hope you understand sha.

All in all, keep doing the do and see if there are any other changes in your system.

It will end in praise.

Eat it but with moderation. People say it causes contraction but not for me, i ate from beginning till this moment.

Sexx may cause it. Its also very normal to start losing your mucus plug once you reach the 37th week (term baby)
Drink lots of water and talk to your doctor.
Also check if you aren't losing amniotic fluid.

In all, your baby is getting ready to see you, may be sooner than you anticipated.

Its the sex! Tiny blood vessel in the vagina bleeds due the friction on sex. Its usually no cause for alarm and stops after a day or two.


Though if you are bothered please see or call your doctor .

You are almost 37weeks, just go to the hospital for checks, you already paid for it in your rehistration. Don't wait till ANC day.
I guess your hospital is 24hours opened.
It's not a panic situation, bit what will it cost to be just sure.

Mamas help me o. I don't want to make a big deal out of this, since baby is moving and i just believe all is well.

Last night, i wiped and i saw this tiny thick blood (sorry, tmi), very red but just tiny. Then this morning i saw another one, tinier than yesterday. On top of that, I'm spotting, very very very little tho, if no be say i wear white underwear, i might not have noticed.

I'm a FTM and I'm 36weeks plus. Next appointment is on Tuesday.

Google suggested that se.xx might cause it and we did the do yesterday, different style sef.

What do you guys think?

Good afternoon doctors and aspiring mothers in the house... Pls we have an issue at hand, an ultrasound scan gave a report on the 16th of march 2018 of a baby being 20weeks +-2weeks Edd is 03/08/18.. Its been causing an uproar and disagreement of last had unprotected sex between the mother and the supposed father cause the husband said he wasn't around as at the month the wife mentioned... Pls by your experience and calculation what date/month is the said sexual intercourse of this particular scan would have come about... Thanks in anticipation

It is worthy to note that most times scans do not accurately state the exact EDD, hence that +-2weeks. That is to say you can calculate 2weeks ahead or before. Also scans do not say when conception took place exactly. By the time a woman misses her period by one day and has a bfp, she is already 4weeks preggy.

So pls get the woman's last menstrual date and make necessary deductions. From the EDD given, it can be assumed that conception took place around November 2017. 40weeks behind is 3rd nov 2017.

Oh so that's the pain i'm feeling. Mine goes and comes and isn't that painful sha, it hits me when i walk for a while, i feel this immense pressure down there.

My tummy has dropped too, i don't have a big pregnancy tummy sha. I can even pass for 25 weeks but na 37 i dey now.

Yea, i also noticed less vigorous movements and i figured it is cos of limited space now.

Can't wait to meet my baby. It shall end in praise.

Lol. Na your baby you dey call rat abi. Very funny sha. How far gone are you? At an early stage in pregnancy you will feel flutters, like something swimming lightly. At least i felt that.

Before i realised i was pregnant, i noticed my skin was getting bad, i thought it was change in water/ environment cos we just moved to a new apartment. Over the course of the pregnancy, my skin became totally damaged. If you see me, you go run sef.

I've used plenty things, no improvement. I have blackheads and terrible spots. It is bad.

Please what can i do? I need to slay again after baby comes next month.

Welcome to my club. I only console myself with the fact that, according to google, it is quite common. Mine started in 3rd trimester. Before when it started while sleeping, I'll scream and massage and massage.

Now ehn, i am always conscious of how i stretch my leg while sleeping, if i stretch too much, i must get muscle pull. Now i just dey always manage am and i just try to place my feet on the ground immediately.

Using two private clinics (one of them a catholic hosp) the catholic hosp dr says I shud relax that it's nothing that from 30 weeks there wud be a great difference, I was confused, 2day I went to the other one, the same reduction by 1kg tho, but chief dr wasn't on seat I had to leave to return on Monday. Kinda confused & not settled, thanx all the same, will seek for help from another clinic. Appreciate!!!

So long as baby is healthy, mama is healthy and feeding welll, i don't think there's any cause to worry. If your doctor gives you the all clear, then it's all good.
