Premier is a busy clinic 4 top women,hard 2 see d cmd but he is humble man. Dr Essien is a usa trained n retired consultant 4rm teaching hospital. he attains 2 u anytime with enough jokes n smile.so just pray n choose one.but also go 2 teaching hospital or st lukes hopital n register,dat is where u enjoy antenatal jare.cheers

This Dr Essien is sounding interesting o. I registered with premier when ms wanted to finish me and i stuck with them. I actually like the place, my doctor takes time to answer my questions and joyfully too. As per antenatal, the matron talks till you understand, just that most times i just want to scan and go home jare.

At 8 months, let me just stick with them jeje. Maybe next missionary journey will be with Dr Essien.

Story of my life, am a first time mum and am 11 weeks gone, I used to work with a movie production company but had to quit cos my boss told me due to the stressful nature of my job, I had to quit.

I recently just got married too and I had plans to work atleast 6months before I start thinking about babies, but we all know God always has a different plan from ours.


I've been sick and not been going out although I don't vomit, hobby leaves home as early as 5am and comes back sometimes 9pm,

Anyways lemme not bore you all, I've been craving seemingly unhealthy foods like zobo, pineapples,abacha(African salad) nkwobi, isi ewu and the likes and I've been told not to indulge in them cos of some active ingredient in them which can cause miscarriage, am scared cos I can't eat. I hate vegetables I can manage fruits but I want sth stronger that can help curb my spitting frequent sickness I've read stuff on line and my fear is 2x more.
Please I need help and I can't start ante natal until am 3months gone.

Pele my dear. During my own time, as early as 7weeks, i was really sick, constantly throwing up, I couldn't even drink water, everything irritated me, couldn't shower regularly, my sister was cooking for the house. I was a mess.

One day, i was breaking down with fever, hubby got scared and off to the hospital, was severely dehydrated. Was given drips upon upon. The only thing i could manage then was apples and pineapples.

My dear, about those foods, i still ate them o when i felt better but much later. I started eating them during second trimester and i still do. I lost weight during first trimester cos it was just fruits, every other thing went to the toilet when i throw up.

Maybe you should speak to a specialist as per what you can eat.

Mamas pls I have a very serious issue at hand and it's affecting my mental health. I had my baby 5weeks,3days ago and I was given a cut which was stitched imm baby came out but I've not been healing up. During bowel movements, I noticed my stool is always hard and have to be forced out. D main issue now is that my episiotomy site still hurts like hell, so I summoned some courage to check it out and found that d site is actually swollen with some lumps and extra flesh around it, there's even an open wound close to d vjay sef would have love to post pics but I don't want to corrupt d virgins on dis thread

I am sorry about your bad experiences there. What i heard about the place wasn't all bad if not i woulddn't have recommended it, i even use it in my early months of marriage. The options are just limited in Uyo or is it that i don't know about other places?...I will even love to see a gynae myself but the most viable option is the one my office uses and when they send their bill in, they list out your diagnosis (if any) and i am not really comfortable with that. I pray everything works out in my favor.

Options are really limited here, i only went to that one cos u recommended, besides i'm new in this town, just one year here. Maybe the hospital was better when the owner was still alive. The doctor even told me to do HSG then and i was like, just like that? No hormal assay, which he said wasn't necessary, that i and hubby were too young to have hormone issues. I jeje told him no to that.

I know of "Our Lady of Lourdes" at Ekpanya Street but i learned the owner died so i don't know how it is now. @Eka..shiloh, your help is needed ma.

That place no be am jare. I remember you recommended that place to me last year, got there and wad told the owner had died but met with a young doctor who was just interested in beefing up his pocket. Tests i and hubby ran were inconclusive but we decided to treat infection. Doctor totally ran down the drugs in the hospital, saying they got it from an unworthy source but he could treat us as outpatients and use his own drugs. Hubby sha agreed and we paid A LOT for that, treatment lasted for 7days, he would come to the housr every morning to administer the injections.

What made us severe ties was he prescribed one drug for hubby and more than tripled the price plus he didnt really know what to do with me when i complained about my own issue, just gave me clomid when vit b6 jejely sorted me out.

Going by that description he is treating you of malaria not presenting it! Still I think you need to consult him again for proper clarification or seek another opinion.

Sometimes this doctors mix up patients prescription without knowing.

I was given dis drug at my last Anc and dat was because I had a ++malaria after a malaria test. Dat drug is strong and I don't think it should be given as a routine drug. My doctor actually increased my folic acid and fesolate dose cos he said d drug wuld weaken me and it really did. And I took it for only 3 days,2 tablets daily. Pls complain to ur doctor ASAP.

Thank you so much, my prenatals were not increased and i did not do any malaria test. Besides mine is 4tablets as a dose and twice daily, i.e 8tablets in 24hours.

Your Antimalaria, I doubt if it is the culprit.
Had my 3rd dose antimalaria same time as you. But mine is 1 dose of 3 Fansidar at once.

Nah. Not stretchmark, started using ori immediately i missed my period and i have been using everyday, twice a day.

You know those big black ants that used to disturb those days when we uaed rugs at home, that when u kill has this unique smell. When they stinf ypu, ypu know how that spot swells somehow, like your skin becomes raised, thats what i have all over my stomach with crazy itching.

I have not taken my morning dose today and no itching but those spots are red but not swollen again.

The routine malaria drug in pregnancy is a single dose(3 tab) taken twice at one month interval. So you only take two doses all throughout pregnancy. It usually taken after 16weeks of preg Except you are being treated for malaria, that is when I know that you might be given such drug. For the reactions, I suggest you relate with your doctor cos swelling and itching are rarely from antimalarials. You also need to consider other drugs or food that you are on.

I'm not on any other drugs, except for my normal prenatal of fesolate, bco and folic acid. This is my second malaria drug, first was single dose. This one is 24 tablets to be taken over 3 days (4 tabs, twice a day).

No changes in my food or anything like that.

Routine malaria drug that I know of is taken as a single dose! Unless there's another I'm unaware of. I'd say consult your doctor and report the reaction you got from it asap.

Please i need help, i got my last routine malaria drug this past week, prescribed and dispensed at my hospital. Started taking it two days ago but i notice i have this allergic reaction to it. The first day i took it, after the first dose, i didn't notice anything. But upon taking the second dose, i woke and had this swelling on my stomach with serious itching, i thought it was something else. I took third dose and it took all my willpower and hubby's encouragement not to scratch my stomach. I had my bath, put ori and was rubbing it, it itched me thru the night.

Name of drug is clartem. Don't know if i should stop as my next appointment is in two weeks.

Awesomemama and other mama's that wants to increase breast milk production. I hust got a new way, you can use scent leaf (efirin) Tried, Tested, confirmed and Trusted. You can try it too. If it works for me it can work for you too

From what I've learned on this thread, pineapple core contains some sort of enzyme that may cause the womb or something to contract, which they claim could cause miscarriage. Hence most people take the core after ovulation i think, to aid implantation, not sure. From this thread, people take it after ovulation, everyday for 5 days.

But as for me o, even from my first few months when MS gave me extreme sour mouth and i couldnt even eat anything or drink water, watermelon and pineapple was all i could eat. And here i am, 8 months gone. I guess it is just different for everyone.

As per bottles et al.. I didn't buy too even with my first. I don't have any bottles till now. After 6 months, I switched to cup, plates and spoons. I also did exclusive breastfeeding but for the first few hours when lactation is still been established, ur baby will need to feed on something hence the Nan 1. My hospital does that successfully with Cup & spoon or syringe.. Formula in my hospital is very expensive so I bought mine already.

Hmmm. I don't know the deal with my hospital as regards that, I will need to ask during my next appointment. They just asked me to pack cup and spoon.

I got some washable diaper too, its machine friendly and i believe its pocket friendly but now my baby is past 3 months old and i have not used them.... After delivery i couldn't stand extra work, now I just they fear to wash shit. When his bowel movement becomes a bit predictable then i can start using them..

I'm an expectant mom, with about 8weeks to go. I've done majority of my shopping, I'm left with diapers and wipes and co.

So i was doing my research online on diapers and stumbled upon washable diaper clothes, not the old type we used as kids o.

My question now is has anybody here used it? How is it like? Is it really machine friendly? Cos i need it to save diaper cost o. Pls just enlighten me.

From my small experience, when there's fluid in the pouch of douglas, it signifies infection/ PID.
