Hmmm. That means my mum is right then. She made and is still making me sit on hard surface, like wooden chairs and on the floor. No couch for now, for the same reason you mentioned.

Pls ehn mamas, do babies smell breastmilk? Or do they know when mum carries them? As soon as I'm close or carry my son, he starts turning head and looking for ni..pple but when grandma carries him, he comports sharp sharp.

Ok mama, thank you. But i have a challenge, my son doesn't always burb. Sometimes I'll rub and rub for sooo long and nothing still. I noticed when he was on nan1 for the first few days, he would always burb.

What am i doing wrong? Or is it that he doesn't take in air since he latches well as opposed to being spoon or bottle fed?

Lastly mamas, i think one of my stitches is out o. I put to bed 2weeks ago, what should i do?

Mamas pls how do you feed your los? My 2weeks old son eat a lot. His tummy ia always big. I know he wants to eat when he starts eating hia hand or turning his head from side to side. He is on exclusive now. Just want to be sure I'm not overdoing it.

Mama pls just stop the clomid, that thing should be taken with caution and it just doesn't agree with some people's system. Besides sometimes clomid causes hyperovarian stimulation when taken repeatedly Let your body rest and it will be alright.

So nursing bra get padded version? Does it come with underwire? I read wired bras aren't good when breastfeeding.

I abandoned my manual breast pump cos I didn't get the desired result maybe I should try it again.

It does require some level of technique but it works. I got it cos my son wasn't sucking in his first week. The more you pump, the more milk you extract.

I just purchased lanisoh electric breast pump (double pump) but I can't seem to get it to work, I believe I'm doing everything right. It suctions but nothing comes out after fitting the flange to my boob's.
Mothers that r familiar with how electric pump works pls assist with the necessary steps before I take it back to the point of purchase.

It takes time. When i got my manual pump, i tried it that first day and got nothing, i just assumed i had gotten a fake. The next day, after i had my bath and did hot water massage on my boobs, i tried again and it worked.

So just allow it run its course first.

My dear. Circumcision is barbaric and should be regulated that some pain relief be administered. Jesua Christ, immediately they took him in, i started crying. Chai, my boy was screaming and i just wanted to enter inside and collect him.

Seriously africa should do better. I read how it is done in developed countries and it isn't as cruel as ours. These babiea are too young to experience such pain, I'm sure some babies go into shock.

Abeg they should join their foreign counterparts jare. Anyway he got the plastibell type and we were told not to apply anything till it falls, then proceed with penicillin. We were given vit c and paracetamol as well.

Don't worry we are all jjcs at one time or the other. about circumcision it depends on the method that would be used on ur baby. The plastibell was used for my son. They would place a very tight plastic round his penis.i religiously applied olive oil every 20mins and made sure his diaper was very loose. I sometimes leave him butt naked because i didn't want him to be in pains and I also gave him paracetamol drop thrice a day. It fell of on the fifth day. But don't worry your baby would be fine.

About the sitz bath, please do not use Hot water ,ur stitches can come off. Use warm water(not cold water o) then add detail or salt.some people used both. Make sure the area is always dry. Change ur pad regularly, take ur medications too. Weeing and poopong is another topic for another day

There are different types of circumcision please follow the instructions given by the nurse who attends to you as care varies by type. My son got the ring method and he cried briefly after it was done. And that's it. No fever, no effects till the plastic cap fell off after about 5 days. I was instructed not to put anything on it and I did just that

I had CS but from what I heard during ANC the water should be warm and you need just the warmth (not even steam perse)

Your lo should be fine after a day or two but the healing process may take a week or less,and moreover they may prescribe drugs for him,that depends on the hospital
lol how will you sit in the water,make use of a potty or plastic like custard rubber(2kg),u need just the steam,hope you understand?

Yes it really hurt,(the cry is not for the faint hearted o),it usually takes between 7 to 10 day to heal,do keep the area clean.Apply vaseline on it to avoid discomfort when he wears diaper.also follow the advice that will be given to you there,wish you all the best.

Oh my goodness my poor baby o. Shouldn't they give them something to numb the area first?? God help us tomorrow. But does it cause them to wiggle in pain for the 7-10 day duration?

About the sitz bath, i understand you but will the water touch my vagi.na or i need just the steam? I need to sit in the water abi?

Pls i need clarifications. My baby is over a week old and i had tear while having him and doctor told me not to sit on hot water for 2weeks cos of the suture.

Now, this sitz bath I've been reading about, what exactly is it? Is it that i just need the steam from the hot water or will the hot water touch my vag..ina? Do i need to add anything to the water? Pls don't mind my many questions, i be jjc.

Lastly, baby is going for circumcision tomorrow, pls does it realllyyyyyyy hurt them? Will he cry all day? All week? How long will it take to heal? What pointers do i need to know?

Breastfeeding is hard!!!! How do you guys do it My nipples are sore cos my bab latches well sometimes and doesn't at other times, as per learner.

Please is there anything i can apply on my nipples to make it feel better??

Well done mama, another hurdle crossed. The proper latch is vital for baby to get good quantity/quality of milk and for you not to suffer bruised nipples.

In my own mil even termed it and said my baby is irritated that's y she preferred expressed milk but everything is story now. The only way to help him is to allow him suck more often as practice makes perfect.

Sorry ma'am, I'm sure other mamas would have responded but let me chook mouth too since my baby was like yours too.

The only solution is to keep putting him to breast when he is not too hungry so he can learn how to suck. My daughter didn't suck on her own till after two weeks breastfeeding leaves the two of us frustrated that I had to put it in prayer.
Just keep expressing and putting him to breast till he becomes a pro. Don't let people's talk get to you cos that's one of the things that frustrated me.

You see that talk ehn, is what frustrates me. I stay in a town with no relatives from either my side nor my hubby. You can imagine the way i get calls daily to ask if he is sucking.

Anyway i have a testimony my ds sucked today . All day has been breastfeeding day oo, i woke up today, prayed about it and said today is today. Although he is still learning to latch well but I'm glad there's progress. How can i help him latch better?

my baby was like this o,she was used to been fed with syringe(easy life),when I put her to the breast she will cry and cry,it was so serious o and I was so unhappy my BP went up sef(i was been accused of not wanting to breastfeed sef) one day I made up my mind that she must latch,I hid the syringe and formular sef.when she is hungry I will force the breast in her mouth,she will remove mouth nd cry,I tried not to let the cry get me and continued o,when she saw I meant business she started latching small small,afer the 3rd day she became a pro.my dear don't let him get used to bottle or syringe o,continue trying when he is hungry put him to latch,do it throughout the day he will know you mean business.

I'll keep trying. When he is hungry, i put the breast in his mouth and squeeze, he will just close mouth nd suck the milk that's coming out but wont latch.

I do this battle every feeding time o, that's like 8-9 times a day oo. I'll try nd try nd try, i just leave him and feed him. Or should i not just give him food and let him go hungry?

Everybody will now be calling me and asking if he is sucking

Hi dear..while breast feeding him, try inserting the nipple and a major part of the areola(that's the black part surrounding the nipple) into his mouth.... Tickle him with ur nipples first and once he opens his mouth, insert as much aerola as possible and hold his head still till it seems like he has latched properly...

If only you know how much I've tried. When i insert it, he screams and cries. I noticed he doesn't like being forced. When i try the first time, i press the milk out and he just sucks it like that, from the nipple surface but he can't feed that way. I lactate very very well now.

I don't even know again. I just cry and give up. It is depressing.

In other news, i don't know why but I'm not exactly happy. I cry unnecessarily and i feel exhausted.

Mamas why won't my baby latch? I'm sad and depressed it really hurts. I've tried and tried. I express to feed him but i want him to suck himself.

I got a manual pump but that's harddd and i combine with formular. I know with electric i can manage to go exclusive.

After much hot water and pepper soup and very tiny effort from ds, I'm lactating but he isn't latching. My boobs are hurting already.

Pls help i beg you people. What can i do? Boobies are hard sef. His lips are just too tiny, he came exactly at 37weeks and he is just so small.
