Chad showing these fools how its done.

Over 200’ Boko Haram militants killed in offensive

Gamboru - Chad said on Wednesday it inflicted heavy losses on Nigeria's Boko Haram, killing "over 200" Islamist militants in a border town that it wrested from the rebels in a ground offensive.Nine Chadian soldiers were also killed and 21 injured on Tuesday in Gamboru as regional forces took the fight against the insurgents on to Nigerian soil for the first time, the Chadian army said.

"This toll is provisional," the Chadian military said in a statement, adding that troops were still combing the town on Nigeria's border with Cameroon for lingering rebel elements.Around 2 000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles poured across the border into Gamboru on Tuesday after the African Union last week backed a regional force to take on the extremists.

The sound of automatic gunfire could heard Wednesday in the town, which has been abandoned by residents after a barrage of air strikes by Chad in the run-up to its offensive, an AFP journalist reported. While the operation in Gamboru continued, the town of Fotokol on the other side of the border, in Cameroon, came under fresh attack from the jihadists.

"The guys [Boko Haram] entered this morning. The fighting between them and our soldiers is very intense," a Cameroonian security source in Fotokol told AFP by telephone. The Cameroonian troops had managed to repel the attack by mid-morning, after Chadian soldiers crossed back from Nigeria to help defend the town.

You mean "paper" leadership as per written documents?

No, no one is pained by that. We are just marvelling at the real leadership being put in by Chad where it matters most...in the battlefield. While Nigerian soldiers run from BH, Chad makes BH run.

It goes without saying that you must have the paper leadership. Afterall, this is your problem. A problem you can't solve yourselves.

Shame on you!

Chadian forces scored a key victory over Nigeria's Boko Haram on Tuesday, wresting control of the border town of Gamboru within hours of launching a ground offensive against the jihadist group.

Around 2,000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles crossed the border into Gamboru from the Cameroonian town of Fotokol after days of clashes with the insurgents.

By Tuesday evening, the troops had taken control of the town, according to an AFP journalist in Gamboru, leaving scenes of desolation, with houses destroyed, shops gutted and trucks charred.
And a certain someone on here called them a rag tag army...ahem. They look way less raggy and taggy than the Nigerian army and their "tactical retreats" of last week.

NIGERIA’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY REMAINS INTACT

“The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in which Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad have contingents are part of the ongoing onslaught against terrorists in this region.

“The countries that make up the Lake Chad Basin Commission also had some understanding, which now enables a massive move against terrorists from all angles.

“Contrary to the impression being pushed in some quarters, it is the Nigerian forces that planned and are driving the present onslaught against terrorists from all fronts in Nigeria; not the Chadian Forces as is being propagated by some media.

“For instance Chadian forces have been deployed in Baga Sola, which is a Chadian territory.

“There have been some joint deployments and patrols around Kirawa, Ashgashiya and other locations in borders of Cameroun, Nigeria and Chad as part of these operations.

“Chadians and others are however keying into and working in concert with the overall plan for an all-round move against the terrorists as agreed.

“Nigeria’s territorial integrity remains intact"

The white man's report was false, helicopters hardly ever bomb, they rocket, does Rooivalk helicopter carry bombs? Helicopters with bombs are rare. A bomb run brings them too close too slow to enemy AAA.

The foreign media wanted to deliberately praise Chad over Nigeria and in the process mad himself a foolish white man who says helicopters were dropping bombs....he is just a foolish and fraudulent as you grin grin

Double fools tag team grin grin
.
This is probably the most stupi.d comment i've ever seen you ever say. Which says a lot. Chad helicopters bombed Boko Haram positions, using rockets fool.

It doesn't make English/grammatical sense to say "Chad helicopters rocketed Boko Haram positions". It's perfectly acceptable grammar to use the headline that they did. And most decently educated people would fully understand what the author meant.....i.e Chad helicopters have dropped munitions/explosives/rockets (in whatever specific form they take) on Boko Haram.

This was your big come back? This was the post you had in reserve to impress everyone? I honestly feel embarrassed for you. Shame.

Your unrelated google search photo is Chadian Mi-24 Hind armed.

Devluits photo and news media reports photo is Chadian Mi-8 Hippo unarmed weaponless transport.

Think you can fool us here? Ode
Hence i said i wonder if Chad would NOT use such assets. Just keep them parked in their hangars collecting dust while their men are at war, facing heavily armed opposition. So lets look at the facts....

1.Chad has the assets to conduct air strikes via helicopter (picture i provided)

2. Various news agencies report that Chad is conducting heavy air strikes against Boko Haram in Nigeria

3. But no no no let us not believe all those different articles and eyewitness claims. Let the world rather believe Agaugust here on this forum, because this ONE article doesnt have a picture of an attack helicopter. Hence making all other articles and eyewitness claims false.

Do you see how your logic is substandard? Sub par. Poor.

CANDLE NATION!!!....THIS IS YOUR WORLD CLASS INSTITUTION?

All apparently not well at the Infantry School

Written by Kim Helfrich, Tuesday, 03 February 2015
Alklegations of abuse at Infantry SchoolAllegations of assault and verbal abuse have again surfaced at the SA Army’s Infantry School at Oudtshoorn.

The base in the Klein Karoo town does not have the best of reputations as a military training institution and has been singled out by Sandu (SA National Defence Union) as “notorious for its bad leadership and high troop casualty count”.

It has in recent times apparently seen recruits, including women, humiliated, while a recruit was found dead, apparently of hypothermia. A punitive training session last year saw a board of enquiry set up to investigate whether officers or instructors went too far after several recruits reportedly had to undergo medical treatment following the session.

Also last year, an apparent confrontation between police and soldiers outside a shebeen led to another official enquiry. The incident allegedly was sparked by intimidation by a senior Army officer to have arrested soldiers released from police custody.

Now Sandu, in the form of its national secretary Pikkie Greeff, said it is “gravely concerned about increasing reports of recruits being physically assaulted and verbally abused” at the Oudtshoorn military base.

Complaints reaching the military trade union include instructors jumping on the backs and chests of male and female recruits, refusing medical attention to recruits with open wounds and racist verbal abuse.

Other complaints are that certain recruits have been refused the right to tender their resignations and are forced to remain at the base against their will. At the same time they are forced to take part in training and subjected to more abuse,” he said.

Greeff said the union has no problem with tough military training but “outright thuggery, verbal and physical abuse and criminal conduct by instructors is condemned in the strongest terms”.

He maintains the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) has done “very little” to address the Oudtshoorn situation. This is despite recommendations apparently made by the Military Ombud.

Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga, Director: Corporate Communication, said: “The SANDF is not in a position to respond to allegations made by Sandu in its statement without any verification of the allegations and/or facts”.

He indicated the defence force had seen and read Sandu’s statement.

Brown water navy? Nigeria has the best brown force in the world today !

When you see an APC in the ocean, they are going towards their own navy amphibious ships to carry them or they were dropped by their own navy amphibious landing crafts to go on to land invasion.

I said they fight across rivers and lakes

If we go abroad with army only, its Nigerian army amphibious armoured vehicles combination of Cobras, BTR-4, and others including our amphibious Sagaie Tank Destroyers with 90mm long range cannon that will wipe out any brown water enemy gun boat that shows up....oh, I just remembered South Africa has nothing like Sagaie amphibious tank destroyer, your unlucky SANDF is cursed to be a dry land only army for just homeland, sorry o ! grin grin

.
Why are u making the fight so easy for Nigeria and tough for SA. You mention force projection. Go fight in a land locked country thousands of km's from Nigeria, but with large inland lakes. Your brown water navy is useless. But your enemy already has well armed gun boats. You will be minced meat.

When your weak Soweto army travels and deploys overseas to another country, you carry bridges along inside C-130 transport?

Do you know the size and weight of those bridges and ferries?

When your army needs mobility on a battle field do you carry bridges/ferries around in every part of war zone? Your bridge men will be the first that Boko Haram will kill with 23mm cannon grin

Also, those ferries carry ONLY 1 single vehicle at a time ! Nigerian army swims across the same river driving 100 vehicles at a time !

You cannot use mobile bridge on wide lake like lake Chad ! It is as wide as a whole village....try put mobile bridge on lake Victoria grin

Can your obsolete SANDF put mobile bridge across the mighty Atlantic Ocean ? See modern Nigerian army type of Cobra APCs in photo below !

If your army is in distant operation from base and suddenly meets a river between them and their target that must be approached urgently before the enemy arrives, SANDF will phone or radio base 100km away to send them bridges? While waiting a whole day for bridges the enemy has crossed the river and beaten your army to the target, they have operated and long gone away before dry land only army arrives to launch bridge or ferry and go see the ashes and ruins and dead bodies of victims left behind by the enemy that has amphibious vehicles like Nigerian army.

SANDF has ZERO force projection grin

Mandela built a dry land only army, big error, live with it forever grin

SEE MODERN ARMY LIKE NIGERIA SWIMMING WITH MANY COBRA APCs...SANDF CAN NEVER DO THIS ACROSS WATER IN 100 YEARS !
.
I'll leave my reply very short because i refuse to waste my time. Combat troops deploy with engineers. Engineers deploy with the necessary equipment needed in the region the troops will be fighting in. You clearly didnt do geograpghy because rivers and lakes dont "suddenly" appear out of nowhere. Maps of the area would have been studied, and necessary equipment needed to deal with the terrain brought along.

Amphibious vehicles are good, but a bad idea for very large bodies of water. Chances are your enemy will have a brown water navy. Their purpose built boats will tear your Cobras appart. So good luck taking your Cobras accross the Atlantic ocean....and watch your men turned into mince.

That Ratel IFV is NOT crossing a river grin grin

It is being ferried on a floating pontoon grin grin

SANDF has NO single armoured vehicle that can drive across a river in amphibious combat. Nigeria has 1,000 amoured amphibious vehicles.

Mandela built a dry land only army grin grin
.
So when you climb onto a ferry which travels from one end of a lake to another....you technically have not crossed the lake unless you get into the water and get wet? Nice logic

That is a picture of SA Army engineers executing a Ratel water crossing. You can deal with it and make peace with it however you like.

The project defined the concept of the vehicle, reason why the Badger design is an obsolete 18 year old IFV concept grin
.
No fool. 1997 a need was identified to replace the Ratels. Military top brass and Armscor put out a set of FUTURE requirments they want the item to have and put it out on tender. Companies bid, show what current technology they have and what future capabilities they will have. Once a company gets a contract (Denel Land Systems - 2010) the design will still change and morph with current technology up until all requirements are met. Very simple logic which you clearly dont understand. Do you think design are etched in stone?

Look at when the A Darter missile program was started. The designers knew they would be working to achieve future requirements and their concept would change as it went along. Hence the A Darter is practically the most agile air to air missile today. 90g turns.... very few missiles come even close.
