Jobs/VacanciesRe: Questions Concerning Your Preferred Salary Scale During Job Interviews by Sagamite(m):
fabby26: If you're asked on how much your remuneration will be or you wished to be paid on a lucrative job interview for a multinational company or a big firm. Is this really a question or a test to put you through? I have a friend of mine that was asked this question by a white man after he must have answered all other questions. My friend feared to mention any specific amount but rather just declared intention of not putting remuneration at fore-front but rather more on delivering his role. He came out thinking he will get the job, but unfortunately failed.

So I ask What will one that is posed with such question say? Mention any amount(minimum amt in figures) or just wave this issue of remuneration like my friend did. Please I need a concise answer to this. Thanks
I am sure, it is not because of what he said about salary offer that cost him the job.

If someone asks you such a question, it is a pre-requisite to negotiation and haggling.

Your answer should be a range. E.g. I am looking for a salary between N12m-N14m.

You should have done some research yourself before you get to that stage. You should have found out part of the following (if you can) before the interviews:

- What is the average pay for that function and at that level in the city and country you are applying.
- What is the average pay for that function and at that level in the industry and a market player of that size you are applying.
- What is the average pay for that function and at that level in all industries in that country.

From these, you can then set your minimum and maximum.

Minimum would be (i) the lowest average of your research or (ii) the minimum you would take to avoid losing the job or (iii) the minimum you will take without feeling too cheated.

Maximum should be (i) the maximum average you found out in your research or (ii) about 20% above the average you found out or (iii) what you think is the maximum they can pay you.

You can also start by throwing the curve ball back before answering by asking them: "It was not made public, and I am not aware how much this role is paying, but what is the salary range for this level in your firm". Normally in the UK, if you have already gone through several rounds, they tend to answer you but if it is at the start, they might not.

When it comes to a job offer and they make you an offer, negotiate CONVIVIALLY by stating why you think you deserve more and ask for them to come up with an offer closer to your maximum. For example,

"I am already making N10m at my previous job and a majority of the other roles I have interviewed for have been of offers between N12m and N15m. I think an offer of N13m, rather than the N11m you just offered, is more reflective of my experience and the opportunities I have in the market environment."

Then you both can negotiate further to N12m if they are that inclined.

At the end of the day, it all depends on how badly they need you for the role, how financially buoyant the firm is, how much they were paying the previous position occupier and how much the salary decision-maker likes you.

ThaProphet: You accused me of advocating an eye for an eye. I then said how can a crime based on that have no motive or why would a police force with common sense not investigate or establish a motive? Whether or not the motive is justifiable depends on the courts but the motive still gets HEARD. Which has been my point the whole friggin time, man. You said disregard it, I say, it deserves to be heard.

"person's" motive still gets investigated and established not disregarded completely even if "person" ends up in jail.

Is constable trying to get a confession? lol. I wasn't advocating anything as repeatedly stated in my numerous posts. This started waay before your fixation on an eye for an eye by the way...it derailed long time ago. Time to give it a rest.
A motive getting heard does not mean the motive makes sense nor does it mean a decision is justifiable.

So I don't see the point of your "it gets heard".

Even Ariel Castro's motive was heard. And so?

People only get heard in courts not because they are making sense or have sense to make. They get heard because it makes it appear free and fair. At the end of the day, when they finish saying their moronic rubbish, they are still told it is rubbish and get punished.

An eye for an eye motive is rubbish and would be thrown in the rubbish bin.

Anybody saying a White African cannot represent their nation is chatting shyt!

ThaProphet: I thought you said an eye for an eye....how then can a crime based on an eye for an eye have no connection to another crime? huh The reason behind the "person's" threats will not be established? What is the motive? This has happened so many times in the "sane society" talk about. There are many cases where seemingly unrelated crimes/investigations have resulted in the opening or re-opening of cases.

It is funny that you substituted what the NPF would do with what the Metropolitan police would do, dude. NPF will lock people up often times without caring about what motivated their crimes while on the other hand the police force in a "sane society" will investigate every aspect of the crime and spend huge amounts of money doing that. This is ridiculous.

I did not know that this has been about an eye for an eye the whole time undecided
Where did I say an eye for an eye?

YOU were the one defending an eye for an eye but yet claimed you were not advocating an eye for an eye.

Whatever reason for person, who is not affected directly from a crime, threatening others of a crime WOULD get him nicced (arrested). He has no excuse in court for breaking the law, he would pay in a sane society. Metropolitan Police investigating does not mean they would listen to moronic reasons. They will smile with you and still book you straight up.

I am surprised you did not know. It looked very obvious:

Fortunately, I'm not in a position where women shout to my face, and the Kenyan governor certainly isn't hence his appropriate response.

ThaProphet: Really? Finish up the analogy and see whether or not police investigators ought to take into account the crime in committed in Neighbourhood B by someone in Neighbourhod A. This is getting silly, regardless of location, it is evident that all is still connected lol.

I see this whole argument has derailed from its original topic to whether an eye for an eye is morally right or not.
So YOU ARE "advocating an eye for an eye doctrine"!!!

That is my point!

Yes, a moronic police officer like the one in the NPF might take it into account because his brain is malnourished and he can not think critically as his brain is only used to "them" vs "us". In the UK, the person threatening others would be arrested by the Metropolitan police force and cautioned for disturbing the peace and threatening behaviour.

So location is not regardless. One is a sane society with great police force, the other is moronic society with trigger happy illiterate animals. And we both know which of the society is better.

When did I say a man should beat a woman? Please produce the text. I said I don't blame the man for slapping her, since she was all in his face, would he because its a woman just stand there and do nothing while an aggressive woman on rampage shouts to his face? Women want equality, that's part of the whole package. If you want to be treated like woman, behave like a woman. You are too stu*pid to understand.

Go and keep yourself so women can use you as a doormat, fu*king maid!!! I've seen the thread where girls humiliated you, it's unfortunate the women you blindly defend, don't even like you. Punk!!

ThaProphet: Lol. Are you trying to confuse me? Let's not employ fallacies here. My response was to your castigation of someone who thinks it is important to consider that rarity.

For example:

I killed my neighbour's cat and the neighbour threatened to kill my dog. Police investigators refusing to understand the reason behind the threats would be stupid. Also, seeking to understand the history behind the threat does not mean condoning the threat. Or does it? Stressing only the threats and disregarding everything else is flawed.

This, I believe sums up my argument without personification of the subject matter.

In response to this question however: "Why would I need to consider the "rarity of black women representing European nations to which they belong" when choosing a White African to represent an African nation..."

My answer: Because someone cried foul.
That analogy is a fail.

Let me improve it for you and make it more apt:

Someone from by 'Neighbourhood A' killed a cat owned by someone in 'Neighbourhood B', now another different person in the 'Neighbourhood B' threatened to kill any dog he sees owned by anybody from 'Neighbourhood A'. Police investigators refusing ......................

Can you see it is senseless and basically an eye for an eye?

So you are "advocating an eye for an eye doctrine"?

What happened between "Someone from by 'Neighbourhood A' who killed a cat owned by someone in 'Neighbourhood B'" has no relevance, in sane environment, to the ediot from 'Neighbourhood B' calling for blood.
