Well, here I guess sendin an SMS is quite expensive than the rate over there. So we tend to abbreviate as many words as possible in order to convey more words in a page.
This is also well used in chattings here (yahoo mess, pinging, 2go, whatapp, nimbuzz and d likes of them)
I wanna believe that the guy must have been carried away while posting here, since there is no per alphabet charging here!

But, u too worry sha!
It really is annoying to try and read it.

ZUBY77: Week 20 - BY now, it has occured to me that watching Manchester United is no longer in our programme. First in line is Magic Africa, followed closely by some gossip station which i cant recall the name right now
That is why I believe in 2 TVs in the home.

Watch your Eastenders in the sitting room and I will watch my football and news in the bedroom.

ZUBY77: and finally the Emmanuel Tv by a man called TB Joshua (the station i hate with passion). This station was forced down my throat by mrs zuby. My anger is that each time you open this station, this black man is healing someone, cripples, mad people, deaf people, dumb people, people with aids etc etc. C'mon even Jesus cant do all that.
This na one wey I no go fit tolerate.

If she no fit watch am online with airphones, or something like that that would not lead to me being tortured, then everytime she sits down and changes the channel to watch this, I would get out my calabash, staffs and beads full of concusion and place it in the corridor of the house surrounded with black candles.

She would then hear me chanting in low voice from the background.

Took me much longer to comprehend it than if the negligible effort of writing in good English was used.

If that is the culture in Nigeria, I don't want to be part of it.

It really does not make sense. It is not justifiable. It is not an improvement.

All the opposite of things I aim for in life.

dominion angel: nyc thread. am learning nd hope no mata d storms, il ovacome. thumbs up poster
My God!

Can people just type in English for heavens sake.

I first thought how did this become a New York city thread (nyc).

What is so hard in tpying "nice" instead of "nyc"?

What is so hard in typing "and" instead of "nd"?

What is so hard in typing "matter" instead of "mata"?

What is so hard in typing "overcome" instead of "ovacome"?

This is just self-degeneration at its best when one needs to be aiming for self-development.

HellaBella: Some of you people sha...
Those criticizing the OP aren't doing so because he recommended his brother. Read his post, the OP did not mention anything about recommending his brother to the office. Rather, people are taking issue with the fact that the OP seems to have this false sense of entitlement that a job that was once his can now be allocated to his brother. This is the problem with Nigeria. The OP should have been asking for tips about how to best talk to the management about employment opportunities for others (in his case, his bro). The OP even commented that he doesn't want the post to go to someone he doesn't know. Well if that's the case, then the OP should keep the damn job. How dare he!

Nothing wrong with looking out for his bro's best interest, but please, the entitlement needs to go.
Thank you!

Well said.

jobfront: the traditional bangles given to me by my father-in-law and mother-in-law, plus pics, and several other cultural and traditional evidences should be able to convince them that i am married to the lady. i dont want a girl who never knew how i suffered to mke money and wealth to come tomorrow to claim my sufferings in the name of being my wife. she will only enjoy my wealth when she stays with me, if i die, she gets nothing cos she must be a suspec, so that she will be praying for me to live long life and not planning to kill me to inherit my wealth.
This guy is obviously a person illiterate. grin grin grin

I wasted my time asking him how he passed in school.

jobfront: UNESCO was formed to promote and recognize all united nation member countries' culture and tradition,
and to also preserve them, and Nigeria is a full member. what am I trying to say? They need to recognize and respect our culture and tradition the way we respect theirs. when an american living in Nigeria wants to bring his white spouse to Nigeria, do Nigerian embassy force him to go and perform an african traditional wedding to show that truly he is married to the woman he is bringing in? This shows we are inferior to them, that our culture & tradition is inferior to theirs, which ought to change now. They need to start recognizing our Traditional marriages since it is recognized and respected by us. And this should also be applicable to our courts. I wonder what the ministry of culture and tradition is doing, sighs.
What a dumb arse rant.

Was UNESCO formed for one party to recognise another party's culture and tradition?

Or was UNESCO even formed for one party to be forced to help another party promote its culture and tradition?

What was your point with this UNESCO rant? Did you use your brain before you vomitted this?

this would have been your argument if you were to right an academic paper?

Honestly, I wonder how some of you passed exams in school with zero thinking. Talkless of critical thinking.

If you can not accept US rules, show you are not "inferior" by refusing to go to their country.

silvaspecs: Can Someone Else Replace Me In A Government Job?

Hi Nairalanders, I got this government job last month which is permanent, after my documentation and waiting for posting, I got another one which had more chances and professional prospects. Now my question is, I have a brother who studied the same course the same year and also from the same state I wanted to suggest to them to replace him with mé in my first offer, because even if I don't show up there again, the slot for my state will be vacant and maybe replaced by someone else I don't even know. Please guys, is this possible to have my brother replace me? Can it be done in the civil service? Thanks for your replies...,
You are a cretin!

So the job should go to someone you know?

Who hired this person?

I thought Nigerian pastors claim to give deliverance? Why is this guy in this state?
FamilyRe: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by Sagamite(m):
davidylan: threads like this are good for those of us on the sidelines. The only reason i havent married now is because of paralyzing fear . . . fear that i might make a mistake, fear that she may not be the one, that i may stop loving her after a few yrs.
I have learnt in the last couple of yrs that indeed no woman is perfect, that the type of woman we envision in our heads exists only in the realm of fantasy, that loving someone is not so much a feeling as it is a conscious decision, that you know you truly love a woman when she has the ability to change your outlook on life and you find yourself developing an uncommon patience for her many flaws, that communication is even more essential to a marriage than sex! shocked

So in the interest of my mother's emotional stability, i have decided to be married in the next 18 months max. grin
Personally, I would not say I have a fear of marriage. I would rather say, I am comfortable being single.

I would do whatever I need to do to make sure my life is a happy one. And I will only change the current status if I see a woman that makes me judge being with her would make me happier than being single. Not because culture/society expects me to be married at a certain age or a girl I am seeing is desperate to get married.

Just saw US CBS news yesterday, only 49% of marriages survive beyond 20 years.

I would not waste my youth and be in my 40s wondering how I can get it back. I shall be a happy person for majority of the rest of my life, no compromising that. No plans to quarrel consistently or compromise on my lifestyle because of some silly vows. If I married someone, I am sure they would not be perfect, but hell, they have to be well-rounded and worthy of marriage based on personality, attraction and compatibility. Otherwise, for me, there is no point or sense in getting married when being single can give me happiness.

Jenny Agun: here in Naija, the Man's family beleive that they bought the wife and they should treat her like a tool for thier use whenever they want.
I think the husband should have a brain to tell them to piss off.

Tradition/culture my arse.

I dare anybody to come and try that shyt with me.

Jemibee: The most painful part came after i gave birth. They started talking about some type of sacrificial food i must eat because they are from a royal family(royal family without a palace/people)!! Guys, i almost lost it. The food had thais serious smell and was cooked without maggi/salt. She also said i musn't eat anyother thg for 1week. I suffered!! As a new mom(my mom had passed a yr before and my siblings all live in the US), it was really tough on me. I'd cry all day and she began acting funny because i objected to eating her concortion.

My hubby is the very loving type but unfortunately has never stood up to defend me in my presence. I stood my ground on this issue.

Honestly, I am less interested in the arrest of the killer. That to me is secondary now.

If I had the powers, my primary focus would be on the fucktards that were responsible for not arresting and charging him.

EVERYONE that was involved in the case, from the investigating officers to as high up the police rank for officers that (1) know about the case or (2) should have know about the case and did nothing about the decision, SHOULD BE SACKED!

That would be my primary focus. Fucktards should not be in the police force.

Spare me all your babbling crap . . ..Alam just happened to be one of the convicted few among a host of corrupt individuals still holding sway in our political terrain . . . . .let me follow you on your shallow moral blabs . . . Now am seeking to ask your cretinous brain who seeks a principled president to make a public statement against corruption, that :-

A Principled president should not be seen mingling with corrupt individuals and corrupt party cronies whether convicted or not ? True or False

Does not sitting with Alams a convicted criminal . .make GEJ anti corruption stands acceptable even when party cronies are known to be highly corrupt ? True or false

If Alams was not in that picture .. . You did have no problem seeing GEJ with corrupt party cronies as decision makers in a ruling party . . . True or False

You are just a shallow brained dim eyed overgrown foolish kid . . .

Let me repeat myself once more . . .

Singling Alams out makes your moral hot air so shallow, idiotic, stvpid and silly . . . You should be advocating for GEJ not to be seen among his PDP cronies cos they are composed of individuals seen as criminals purnishable by the Law . .a trait evident in all political parties in Nigeria

You are a fcking cretin!

What power does he have over people that have not been convicted or even charged? All he can do is to make sure they are charged as intelligent people like us have been screaming, person!

On the other hand, Alams is a CONVICTED CRIMINAL without shame. For a President to be seen miggling and facilitating with him on party issues is an ABOMINATION, you cretin! He is being pictured for the nation. He can AT LEAST say this one is purely a thief and should not even be considered in this circle and Alams would not have a a defence, the others have a defence until at least charged.

There is a time for sane and intelligent people to be pragmatic, and there is a time to be real.

You think he would be a president without his party, you person? So he should not go to his party convention because corrupt people are there?

That is as daft as your moronic arse saying Obama and Cameron should not go to a G7 meeting because some bad leaders abusing human rights would be there. Fooooool!

Your daft arse sees nothing wrong with your president formulating party policies with a convicted criminal. You defend it. Name the state poly, foool!
