SportsRe: 5 Reasons Why The Golden Eaglet Will Not Lift The Trophy In Chile. by Sagamite(m): 11:58am On Nov 07, 2015
Christmasdon:
,hey, friends, statistics or may be history is so vital when it comes to playing football. Now here are the three reasons why we (golden eaglet may not be able to win/won the trophy)

1. The malians are unbeaten in this competition. They have won 5 of their overall matches and drew one, while the eaglets won 5 and lost one. you see that the malians have high odds of beaten the eaglets.

2. Remember, the golden eaglets are the defending champions UAE 2013 ,so lifting the trophy back to back may as well witch haunt us, like that of the Uefa Champions league, no team club have lifted it back to back, you know what i mean,

3. The Golden eaglets and the Malian teams are two big rivals, remember when the pair met at the under17 African championship finale, they comfortably did beaten us hands down on a penalty shoot-out and hence won the Trophy. If care, is not taken such scenario may repeat itself.

4. This is the first time the Malians are getting their hands near a trophy on the international level, and they may not likely want to let it slip off their hands. Malians are very dangerous opponent, bring on any other team at this level, i would say yes, buh! Malians fear them.

5. The golden eaglets have won this trophy 4 times, the 4 trophies were mainly won on the ASIAN SOIL or continent, so, the golden eaglets have never won this competition outside Asia. So you see where the malians have their advantage over eaglets. So, with this stats you see that the malians will do better in this competition. So, as a Nigerian lets pray very well to make sure we beat the Malians, Meanwhile , defiling all odds of this stat. Thank you. Lets support the eaglets.

MALI17 VS NIGERIA17 on sunday (i.e tomorrow) 8th november 2015. Kick-off time. 11pm.

PoliticsRe: MTN Wants $5.2bn Fine Slashed By 80% by Sagamite(m): 11:55am On Nov 07, 2015
Ovamboland:
My brother why are you so uninformed?

Go and check the fines imposed by US authorities to companies convicted of paying bribes in Nigeria inlcuding Siemens, Tecnip, Halliburton.

Tecnip a french company payed to US government 240 million Euro fine for paying bribes to secure NLNG project, the amount is 200% the profits it made over the years it ran the project. And this in not for a crime that has direct security implication to USA.

I can't understand how Nigerians so undervalue ourselves that we are quick to join the side of law breakers.
Many lives have been lost due to MTN's refusal to disconnect those lines, the Falae family and many others had to pay kidnappers to save the life of their patron due to this infraction. Yet some Nigerian defend them for violating our rules, talk of very low self esteem.

Go to South Africa and violate their laws and see how many SA citizens will call for you to freed from paying for your crimes.
And where did I call them to be freed from paying for their wrongs, fooool?

Please tell me the magnitude of the fine of Siemens, Tecnip & Halliburton relative to their total market value and Nigerian revenues and profits.

You have given part. So Tecnip was punished by taking the profits it made from the specific project? How does that compare to this?

Look at all the cretins talking from their moronic arsse where their brain is located.

Cretins that cannot understand the implications of actions. All they know is "Us vs Them".

Moronic fuuktards!

A country that is currently broke and in dire need of investments to create jobs, in environments where these same cretins don't have jobs or are underemployed, has some fuuktards in NCC helping them to destroy their future.

I have never been so shocked in my life when I heard the news of the fine.

How can fuuktards fine a company about 20% of its total market value?

How can fuuktards fine a company about 75% of its total annual revenue in Nigeria?

How can fuuktards fine a company more than 3 years of its annual profits in Nigeria?

All for an offence that was not even market manipulation?

That is not heard off.

How is that going to be encouraging to foreign countries that want to enter Nigeria?

To these NCC fuuktards, a fine is suppose to completely cripple a company?

This is a company that is one of the largest foreign direct investors in Nigeria helping to diversify the economy. The company that has been the lead case study in showing that the shithole called Nigeria, despite all the bad portrayals it has, is a place you can invest profitable outside of the Oil & Gas sector. If they are being treated like this, how can it encourage others to invest and create jobs?

This fine is going to already lead to thousands of job cuts and more people (previously well paid) on the streets looking for job.

The Nigerian CEO of MTN Nigeria and the Corporate Services Executive are goners for sure. No Doubt! They are going to be sacked after this is settled.

When foreigners don't invest. You will have more Nigerian-owned companies where Baba Salas and products of a failed education system treat people like animals and cannot apply best practice.

Unlike Nigerian banks, do the likes of Stanbic IBTC, Citibank and Standard Chartered send young girls out as ashawos to attract deposit calling them marketers? And the CEOs of these Nigerian banks are calling themselves "Bankers". Awon fuuktards!

Do foreign lecturers behave like Nigerian lecturers? Another example of what happens when you have Nigerians running things unchallenged by foreign competitors.

Fuuktard people!

The directors of NCC need to be sacked ASAP!

The fine should never have exceeded more than 50% of annual profits (EBIT).

GEJ has finished destroying the economy, public sector salaries cannot be paid, the country is broke and yet you are rejoicing that cretins in the NCC are chasing investors away.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pains Of A Recruiter / HR Mgr by Sagamite(m): 7:39pm On Nov 06, 2015
Gold45:
As an international Recruiter,
I have noticed some things that hinder my recruitment in Nigeria, it is heart breaking when someone comes to me and says I'm relocating to the USA or Canada or wherever, what placement can you get for me and just by chatting with the person, I know that it will have to be a menial job despite the diplomas and degrees.
There is a reason why I have Recruited over 50 expatriates from some unimaginable countries into Nigeria where they got perks like:
3 bedroom furnished apartment in the Lekki area a few bus stops away from the company
2 domestic staffs to do the cleaning, cooking and driving.
Comprehensive health insurance
Approx. 10M annual salary
28 working days paid vacation
3 working days paid leave
Approx 3M in other allowances
Return annual paid tickets to their home country annually
In some cases a lesser paying job for the spouse is guaranteed.

I have facilitated the purchase of some Multi Million houses which Companies bought for their expatriate staffs. The minimum being 700M for 20 units of 3 bedroom flats, and some up to 2 Billion just for these expatriates.

You must be thinking why, below are some of the reasons in my opinion.
1. Education
Our universities don't help matters, they split one course into 3 units for students to study and graduate and use 20 years old techniques / syllabus to teach. As a result, fresh Nigerian graduates and even West African graduates can not stand fresh graduates from other parts of the world until they have experience or go for more classes. I begin to ask, what is the craze to get admission and graduate for?

2. Lack of seriousness on the part of the students
As if that isnt enough, many of their results were bought in the sense that in a new setting, they can't defend this result. A Bsc Econs holder couldn't pass an exam to place her in a 200level equivalent in the USA. While in school, a lot of them joined cults and turned to private prostitutes just to get the good grades. News Flash!!! Recruiters are fully aware and can't be deceived.

3. Inability to speak good English
What breaks my heart now is that many of them can't speak good English. They are well educated in the best schools but nothing to show for it. If that cert. goes missing today, and they have the opportunity to write another exam to receive a new result, 80% won't pass. Yes, English isn't our mother tongue but when you want a job in a company where English language is spoken, you have to speak English too. Your command of English is highly important. It can speak a lot about you even before you present your certs.

4. Greed
Now, once in a while, I see a graduate who has ticked all the wrong boxes still forming "I know my worth and wont settle for less". I'll simply tell you to call me next week as that's when I'll be recruiting for the big fishes and that will be the end. The bad part of these incompetence is that you never know you have them. Hence, there's nothing to lower those over inflated egos.

5. Nonchalant attitude
Some feel once they have gotten their certs esp. the 1st class and 2nd class upper, they have tried abeg. Cut them some slack, give them a break. But they don't understand that its just the beginning. You must seek more exposure by all means. Keep reading, keep find ways to polish your trophy, keep learning from those who are there.
For example; I can say, 90% of graduates, cant write a standard cover letter, 85% cant write a standard Resume / CV. My mum looked at an applicants cv one day, laughed and said, My CV was as naive as this when I applied for my first job. Meaning, that CV was in vogue in the 1970's!!! I'll talk more on the CV later.

6. Unrealistic desires
Okay, we all know you didn't spend years in the Uni for nothing. You didn't go to Boko Haram infested areas during your service for nothing etc. But baby, its time to wake up! Life isn't rosy anymore. There is tight competition out there. There are over 2000 people better than you graduating every year. The best tool you have when job hunting is experience. I daresay experience is more valuable than degrees in some cases. Start where you are as long as i can recharge your phone, transport you to and from work and pay your basic bills, it will be worth it.
Learn from Dami:
Dami (not real name) ticked 3 wrong boxes and due to the strict requirement, could never see the light of the job. What did Dami do?
He wrote a new application letter volunteering to work for free only asking to be allowed to benefit from the Company's transport as he lives far. 2 years later, Dami got a job in that company as an Assistant Mgr.

7. Lack of Packaging
You are a brand, you wish to be the face of a company, how can you sell the company in a good image if you can't sell yourself? Start with your CV and cover letter.
I don't care where you are from unless the job specifically asked for candidates from a particular region. telling me you have an experience as a waiter in a 7* hotel when applying for the post of a teacher will make me shove your resume in the bin.
Indicate all that apply and leave out the unnecessary details. I skim through 80 - 100 Cv's in 1hr or more. Meaning at a glance, I want to see what I want shouting back at me in your resume. Keep it straight to the point and Brief. Don't lie! Be creative, learn new ways to write a cv. Always ask someone who likes you to proof read for you. Always run a spell check. Don't have one CV. I have more than 8. Always create a new CV to fit the new job. Indicate in the section for skills, all your skills which was listed as a requirement.

8. Failing to test all spirits
Apply to all positions you feel you are qualified for.
Secret: You don't need to have it all. Hr Managers are there to brush you up!

I have to stop now.
Below is the cv of a guy with just WAEC ( I edited it for him )

I've been offered to study Master in Durham (Global Politics) and Birmingham (Intn'l Development). Durham based at SGIA (some notable international relations professor such as David Held, James Piscatori) while Brum at IDD (QS top 30 in the world for development studies). How do you perceive my choice (reputation, employment prospect etc) above? As I am aware that I will be back to my country soon after finishing the degree. I'm from Asia anyway smiley smiley
Hi mate,

Good choices but I will say it has to be Durham.

Durham is as good as Birmingham in this area (according to the 2014 REF assessment), only thing there is that Birmingham is likely to have a bigger department.

Durham also has a longer history, superior current reputation and employment prospects (generally, not necessarily in the field). It even has a better reputation in Asia.

Furthermore, considering Durham's medium size and financial strength, I think Durham can maintain this superiority on the long run.

Birmingham is not a bad option, but I just think Durham is a better option.

The only reason I would pick Birmingham over Durham is if I prefer a city life to a village/Univerity-campus-only life.

@Sagamite, nice tips you have given up there. Please i want to ask about securing admission to an ivy league school either in UK or US, is it possible for me to use My ACCA 'Oxford brookes' Bsc in applied accounting (will be rounding up middle of next year with a 1st class honours) from UK rather than my naija uni result to apply most especially to US ivy leagues?
If you get a 1st class, then I don't think you will have too much of a problem in the UK if you can pay the fees.

The reality is that getting into the top universities at postgrad is much easier than at undergrad because there is just less competition for places.

If one has a top grade (especially from a first world university) and can afford to pay, it is much easier and one can easily enter any of the top 15 universities bar Oxbridge as long as the application is good.

Even a 1st from top Third World/Nigerian universities like OAU, UI, Unilag, ABU etc would open shitloads of doors at postgrad as long as you can pay the fees.

UK universities are public universities and are keen on the funds from foreign fees and even local fees, so it is quite easy at postgrad.

As for America, the top universities really do not need the money considering the are mostly private universities and their huge billion dollars endowments. So I can't say it would be easy.

kannymoore:
But countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkey are predominantly Moslem yet they aren't technologically backward in any way or are they?
First of all, have you thought of how advanced they are in comparisons to advanced countries and their peers?

Secondly, have you thought about their governance system to understand why they are more advanced?

In Turkey, Ataturk (their legendary leader) banned the input of Islam in running the country in the 1920s. Not only that, they supressed Islamists and women were not allowed to where Hijab in schools or government buildings.

This was after they lost all their Ottoman Empire power due to their religious restrictions letting rivals overtake them and overthrowing them. Ataturk decided, fck it, "I am going to imitate the West. Keep your Islam in your home and mosques".

The Malaysia you mentioned, how does it compare with Singapore?

Let me inform you that Singapore is a mere city that is in the middle of Malaysia. It is what is called a City-State. It was part of Malaysia but decided to leave the Union.

It is like Lagos State leaving Nigeria and then forming its own country.

Singapore's former President, Lee Kuan Yew, (regarded as its founding father) utilised the city-state's multiculturalism better than Malaysia to develop the economy. He turned the place from like a Nigeria to an advanced country in less than 30 years because he did not believe in religion and forced society to abandon it in public policy. Hence why Singapore is more advanced than Malaysia.

Singapore is first world. Malaysia, which has Islam as centre of its governance, is second world. Same country, same people. It is similar to the remarkable difference you see between Southwestern Nigerian muslims and Northern Nigerian Muslims.

The SWners are more relaxed about religion running their lives, they even inter-marry with Christians and keep their religions to their homes. They are the model of Muslims people like and can co-habit with. The North see Islam running their lives as virtually the only option. Guess which of these 2 Muslims is more advanced?

Even the Christians in SW cannot claim to be more advanced than the Muslims in SW.

Even in the Malaysia you mentioned, the people dominating the economy are the 25% Chinese citizens of the country and making it the advanced country it is, despite it being a Islamic country. The Muslims are busy doing Allahu Akbar.

Also go ahead and compare India to Pakistan.

Indonesia is really nothing to write home about in regards to advanced nations. It is barely over the threshold.

Also you might have missed the point. I never said countries with predominantly muslims cannot progress. I said:

When you bury yourself and life in a religion and let theocracy (especially one like Islam) be a major influence in your policy-making and ways of working, it is highly likely to impact your economic activities and hold you back (both economically and mental-development-wise).
When they let their religion be centre of policy-making is when they have problems/limitations.

That is why the West overtook the Ottoman Empire.

That is why SW muslims are more successful and advanced than Northern muslims.

That is why Singapore is more advanced than Malaysia.

That is why India is more advanced than Pakistan/Bangladesh.

Merde! Circling, yet again.

Although I remain impressed that you've room for an exotic word like Kismayo, especially considering your limited depth on ordinary elementary-level English vocabulary terms like "business-oriented", there is no "Kismayo English Dictionary" - nor would that make any more sense than, say, the existence of a Beijing English Dictionary, Guadalajara English Dictionary, Mykonos English Dictionary, and ETC, seeing as Kismayo is a port city on the coast of Somalia, and not a language (or publication). In any case, I'm not from Kismayo, and I most certainly am NOT a product of your 'failed education system' (Are you? That may explain a few things??).

Your entire argument relies on a wanton attempt to play around with the edges of a word's definition. Since you refuse every explanation and continue to argue FACT, my advice to you remains the same: if only for your own benefit, CRACK OPEN A DICTIONARY! undecided
Fuuktard, you are so freaking thick, you are too dumb to know when I state "Kismayo English Dictionary", it is a disparagement to show that you are using the wrong source to learn your English. Not that I believe one exists. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Damn! You are thick! grin grin grin grin grin

I am poking fun at you that that is where you got your definition of business from, no wonder it is warped.

For you to call LinkedIn "business-orientated" means your grammar must have been from a fake source without authorisation or the competence to teach English. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

If you were Nigerian, I would have said "Okrika English Dictionary" (like the one the obese monster calling herself Nigeria's First Lady uses).

By the way, before your dumb arsse goofs again, I know you are not from Somalia, I just felt Kismayo solds better than Djibouti. I could have used Baidoa too.

As for my knowledge of Kismayo, don't be impressed. I have said several times on NL that I have dated Somali girls without their Aabbe and Hooyo knowing. grin grin grin grin grin grin

Now back to the point, fuuktard:

Based on your Kismayo English Dictionary, tell us what "business" takes place on LinkedIn for it to be Business-orientated?

1) There is hardly commercial (i.e. business) activity being undertaken on it.

2) It is mainly for individuals (i.e. professionals), not corporations (i.e. businesses).

So, fuuktard, how is it business-orientated? grin grin grin grin grin grin

You thought you could manufacture rubbish to butress your moronic stance? grin grin grin grin grin

PoliticsRe: IGR: 5 Reasons Why Northern States Perform Poorly by Sagamite(m): 5:29pm On Oct 26, 2015
Martins301:
The purpose of this thread is not to encourage states in the Northern region to continue to perform poorly in terms of Internally Generated Revenue, but to identify factors that are causing the problem: with a view to eradicating it, and also to inform Nigerians so they can have a balanced perception. So here are the reasons:

1. Insecurity
Businesses can only prosper in a safe and secure environment. It is from those businesses that government can raise revenue through taxation. With the activities of Boko Haram and dare devil Herd's men, we have seen a dramatic deterioration in the security of lives and properties in the North. Hence, businesses activities have declined there and so also has IGR. Improve security in the North and watch investment flood in and watch their IGR skyrocket.

2. Poverty
It is no rumour that states with the highest level of poverty are in the North. If poverty is high, how can their state government raise revenue from the people? Eradicate poverty and watch their IGR rise.

3. Emphasis On Crude Oil By Government
Since 1976, successive Nigerian governments continue to see crude oil as a cheap and quick means of raising revenue. The result is that, development, improvement and investment in agriculture (this is where Northern states have comparative advantage) has declined over the years and so also has revenue that could have been gotten by state governors in the North from the agricultural sector.

4. Underdeveloped Tax System
Relative to the South, tax system in the North can be described as underdeveloped. All factors listed above also contribute to this.issue. With an ineffective method of collecting, remitting and accounting for taxes collected in the Northern states, expecting their IGR to grow is like expecting a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.

N.B
That the West, East and Southern states have high IGR is pointer to the fact that their tax system is improving. However, an IGR that is fuelled by double taxation and all other sorts of parasitic means of raising revenue by state government of these regions is totally unacceptable.

5. Capitalism vs Socialism
I have observed that much of the IGR of the non Northern region is contributed by the private sector. This means that capitalism is gaining root in this region compared to the North. Although there is the inherent tendency of exploitation in a capitalist society, Northern state governments should continue to encourage private sector led growth in their region while providing an enabling environment for businesses to grow. This will help boost their IGR

Feel free to contribute meaningfully to this thread.

You forgot one of the most important ones:

Religion

When you bury yourself and life in a religion and let theocracy (especially one like Islam) be a major influence in your policy-making and ways of working, it is highly likely to impact your economic activities and hold you back (both economically and mental-development-wise).

It affects your economic activities through the narrowing of the breadth and progressiveness of your policies and work to a myopic level. It also reduces the quality of education you can give and is receivable by your people (the workforce) to help develop the economy.

If you go to the North, many of the higher-skilled jobs in the private sector is conducted by Southerners. Just the way you will have it even in Dubai.

Lets be blunt!

He obviously did not say such considering none of the reputable media houses have reported it.

It would be hard to believe he would say such. If it had been reported that Sagamite said it, then it would have been more believable as this is the kind of blunt truth I would declare.

It is evident the write-up is true considering the fuuktard OP that posted the link and the fuuktard moderator that put it on the front page, could not be bothered to check the veracity and reliability of the report.

Another bunch of black fuuktards!

I would have added these to the report if I authored it.

- Blacks also know how to dance and go to the gym, but definitely not the library.

- Blacks would rather believe in some moronic God/miracle/juju/etc rather than use their brains to think through things or make discoveries.

State IGR contest today data and presentation from nbs, I have always been of the opinion that Enugu is one of the most developed city in the South East and South South Region,if not the most developed, this again proves that the abundance of natural resource or heavy allocations from the federal government is not enough to kick start the ground, states like Akwa Ibom get 3times more than what Enugu gets get federal Gov,but take a visit to both states and see which looks richer, comparing adult literacy, access to basic amenities, hospitable and general workabilty of the city. Enugu bu Obodo Oyibo!
WTF!

Who is the ediot that created the pictorial?

Why are the size of the circles different?

If one is going to use different sizes of circles then, in the educated world, it would be a reflection of some difference in size of the figures to aid the quick visual grasp of the message by the audience.

How come this fuuktard used the same circle size for an IGR that is N2.7bn (Borno) as that which is N17.4bn (Ogun)? And then the fuuktard used a smaller circle size for Jigawa, a state generating more IGR (N6.3bn) than Borno?

When they say most Nigerian graduates are unemployable, some people go dey vex. undecided

Simple things you learn in high school here in the UK, no one in the whole of NBS that got involved in this work noticed?

Au contraire, you're incredibly transparent. Hence the reason I expressed exactly why I wasn't responding to your repetitious tirade directly BEFORE I shoved your pathetic red-herring down your throat where it belongs. Your attempt to strong-arm your way out of the position you're in is almost admirable. But alas, you're not as observant as you should be, nor are you, even remotely, as smart as you think you are.

When the futility of your stance finally dawns on you, the "rubbish" you actively refuse to accept will be right there in any dictionary you can get your hands on, above reproach.
You are a cretinous fuuktard!

I should investigate and fact-check for you an opinion you made?

You sound like the product of a failed education system we have abundantly in Nigeria. grin grin grin grin

No, you are a cretinous mooron who just cannot defend her daft statement.

Remember that I don't use the Kismayo English Dictionary, so I will understand the meaning of business and can differentiate it from professional. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Do you understand the meaning of business? grin grin grin grin grin grin

Do you know the difference between business and professional? And between fitness and sports? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Hahaha. So destroying the red-herring argument you so desperately presented = I, Enlightenedsoul, deviating?? Perhaps you should fact-check your sources from here on out. Perhaps you'd have better luck engaging someone who isn't up to snuff. Someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Someone like yourself.
You are a cretinous fuuktard!

Destroying?

What did you destroy?

If I read it and get into it, as usual, I would destroy.

Cut the crap and answer the waiting questions you are struggling with and trying to deviate from. grin grin grin grin grin

As I said, I never let cretins deviate.

This is your red goat. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

On what basis did you call LinkedIn "Business-orientated"?

What "business" is being done on LinkedIn?

What proportion of people with profiles on LinkedIn are on it to do "business" or actually do "business" on it, fuuktard?

Lol all this grammar cos you have given up on marriage? C'mon accept the fact some people still enjoy it and see the beauty in it.

Permit me to digress a bit, God is the one that ordained marriage and in my opinion if u are not in a relationship first with that God then marriage is a waste of time and effort cos it can never work talk less of being enjoyed without the same God. It becomes that 'failed institution' when is not done in the 'right way'. #myopinion #mystand #nobeonlymewakacome I know I am not the only one smiley.
