This whole discussion is a hogwash. Hunger dey wire people 4 naija and people are wasting time in the NA discussing this? How more foolish can we be? I personally think that both the NA members and the gay rights groups have lost their mind. Fix our roads and our schools people. Save the thousands that die on death traps called roads in Nigeria!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With regards to the system of govt called democracy Democracy protects the minority from the tyranny of the majority. So democracy works two ways. It has to protect the rights of minorities that may be disliked by the majority. This topic should not even be an issue in naija. Dead bodies litter our streets and we dey there they discuss crap |
There are 11,000 daily flights int he U.S. 11,000. just 2 keep things in perspective people. Sop comparing Nigeria 2 the US people |
Nigeria is officially a joke For your information guyz Countries in North Africa have roads as good as thse in the U.S connecting their cities Dont compare Nigeria 2 them My list 1 South Africa 2 Bostwana 3-7 North African Countries |
I think you guyz should take a look at this http://www.vanguardngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27957&Itemid=42 Nigerians spend N1.1bn on generator imports in one week Written by Babajide Komolafe Wednesday, 04 February 2009 LAGOS—IN apparent response to the worsening power situation in the country, which invariably has given unprecedented rise to the demand for power generators, Nigerian businesses spent a whopping $8.2 million (about N1.180 billion) on importation of power generating sets in the first week of January. Vanguard investigations revealed that 15 firms purchased $8.2 million in one week from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to import generators alone. This much was gathered from a CBN report on foreign exchange sales under the Retail Dutch Auction System (RDAS) for the last week in January. The firms according to the report are Jubaili Brothers Engineering Limited ($1,27 million), Indepco Limited ($1,217 million), Mantrac Nigeria Limited ($1,126 million), Cummins West Africa Limited ($1,026 million), Raybros Enterprises Nigeria Limited ($839, 500) and Challerams PLC ($697,100). Others are John Holt ($632,200), Cazneon Limited ($451,100), BL Chanrai & Co Limited ($385,000), Continental Agric Equipment Limited ($281,300), Wahum Packaging ($240,000), Stag Engineering ($146,300), JMG Limited ($161,500), Bencovik Nigeria Limited ($105,710) and Broad Crown West Africa ($148,000). The CBN report revealed that cumulatively US$672 million (RDAS)was sold during the week, representing foreign exchange sales to end users with demand from $100, 000 and above. T he apex bank and the market regulator had reintroduced the RDAS on January 19. The CBN said the forex sales were from January 19 to 28. A breakdown of the distribution shows that the CBN attended to forex demands by customers of banks as documented in about 700 Form M. The demands were also for the importation of various consignments. With the RDAS, banks bid for forex on behalf of their customers that have legitimate demand for it, unlike in the former arrangement (the era of the WDAS) when banks bought on their own account and sold to the end users. Last year, investigation showed that average residential expenditure (an estimated 60 million residents use generators of varying sizes) on fueling power generators had climbed to an all time high of N1.56 trillion (about $13.35 billion) per annum and similar level of expenditure on private power generation has characterised the affairs of industrial and commercial power consumers. Early last year, independent report revealed about half the figures outlined above. Last month, government also served notice it was going to be spending billions of Naira on procuring and servicing power generators, a clear vote of no confidence in the public power utility company. However, while speaking with the Vanguard in Abuja last week also, Mr. Bello Suleiman, the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) disclosed that while the power utility had been able to prime its facilities to generate 4000 Megawatts, there was no gas supply to make this possible. |
we africans are a stupid set of people. Look at the type of nonsense we believe. People turning to goats, sheep, cow etc. (i really pity 4 the people that say if you dont believe trash like this you are a yankee wannabe )and we wonder why westerners think we are subhuman and monkeys. The next time any of you who believe this kind of rubbish come out to show our ignorance to the rest of the world better capture when a person is turning into a goat on your cell phone and put it up on youtube for the world 2 see or just shut da hell up |

It was a day Governor Theodore Orji was inaugurating development projects in Ikwuano Local Government area and the robbers carted away unspecified amount of money. The PUNCH learnt that the armed robbers used dynamite to blow up the back of the bullion van, which belonged to a commercial bank. They carted away the money after allegedly killing all the policemen in the security vehicle and setting their vehicle ablaze. It was also gathered that the robbers, who first applied bullets to open the bullion van without success, later resorted to the use of dynamite and hand grenade. The robbery reportedly lasted for over two hours without any interruption, except when the members of the state vigilance team came to the scene and killed one of the armed robbers. Other members of the gang escaped with their loot, firing sporadically into the air to scare away people around. When contacted, spokesman for the police in the state, Mr. Alli Okechukwu, requested that he should be given some time to compile report on the incident. praise be 2 Naija. Things are really getting better ![]() |
Real Talk scenerios 1. Africans (Nigeria included) -grow up well right? ![]() Results- a decayed continent full of strife where human life is cheaper than chicken and nothing works 2. Westerners dont have culture and do not grow up well right? Results-- good roads, light, drinking water schools, safety, functioning social system etc NOW THE QUESTION REALLY IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH US AFRICANS not others. We have everyhthing we need and cant do shit with it. We should shut the F.U.C.KK up about AA or westerners and clean our shit up first |
honeric01:we Nigerians are a joke. How does all these things you list above actually help our country develop? get good roads? healthcare? security of life and property?, good drinking water? good sanitation? good schools? We Africans have twisted mentality. we have the "good" culture and the west has the "bad" culture or no culture right ![]() |
@arramyjay sorry 2 deviate from da topic but where are you located if u dont mind? |
make una leave talk jare go naija go do wetin ![]() |
@ asha funny name 4 OBJ but very fitting |
and guy im not sure you would want 2 go back 2 Aba if u leave You go miss the Joints, craziness and all but 1 you go discover say rolling up your trousers and removing your shoes in order to wade through dirty water 2 go home every day is non existent in other places. If you ae going home you put your car on criuse control and drive for hours on 4 way lanes without one single pothole 2 u go see say Aba dey like dumping ground and open refuse for middle of street no dey for other places 3 you go see malls come compare am to Ariaria, Ahia ohuru, Cemetary etc and you will be totally disgusted. Shiny, sparkling lovely malls vs brown dirty water 4 Ariaria that you have 2 swim through 4 you no go see dead body 4 street again. EVER Aba is in the 14th century infastructure wise. No sanitation, road, indoor shooping center, mall, facility etc Abeg Nwanne the list too long. |
@bigmodo looks like ur an Aba boy . Enyimba city 4 life . If Aba boy yarn u go know. The average Aba guy dey look 4 way 2 ja naija.Any new things they happen 4 our beloved city? Infrastructure wise? New joints in town in the past few years? Itz a shame that a big city like that doesnt have any roads despite the money it generates. Nigeria's 3rd commercial city looks like a dumping ground . I feel sad whenever i think about this.Cities and even tiny towns in other places around the world that have a population smaller than just one section ( Town or Ogborhill, or Abayi-Umungasi, or PH road, or Faulks, or Ossisioma or any single ONE of Aba) have more roads than all the east combined I feel sad when i see a town of 20,000 or 50,000 people having 4 to 6 way lanes with multiple flyovers, malls, recreational centers, 5 star hotels etc but a City of millions of people like Aba which is the heartbeat of Nigerias manufacturing has NO SINGLE good road and no sanitation. I love Aba but the condition is terrible SAD |
Nigeria A country where human life is cheaper than chicken. Where a simple intercity drive turns into a death trap im deeply grieved 4 the victims of this tragedy and their families |
guy if everybody move 2 lag, ph and abuja will it contain everybody? right now Nigeria has many cities that actually has over a million people. We should be like Brazil or Mexico at least with at least 25-30 cities which have amenities, good roads and skyscrapers where people can live. Ibadan, Illorin, Warri, Jos, Aba, Enugu, Calabar, Onitsha etc How many of these places have we developed? How many of them resemble a city rather than a sprawling shanty town? Guy we get big problems |
Up Milan ![]() Hopefully we can get a couple of defenders this break and se where it goes from there |
@ Napoli presidentsaw da Juve match. Amauri is a beast no doubt Come on Milan, lets trash Udinese and climb up |
meanwhile Ive heard Ibadan is pretty dirty too Any opinions on that? |
so why is Nigeria's 3rd largest commercial city and the heart of manufacturing in so much decay? Aba has more than 1 million people, making it one of the most populated cities in Nigeria and the whole of West Africa Aba has a 25,000 capacity stadium that cant be used for international events due to the appearance of the city. Im wondering if anybody has been 2 Aba recently Any changes to report on |
Hey guyz have there been any changes 2 Aba? ![]() Updates pls |
Aba ![]() Enyimba City. One in town |
Forza Milan Wolfsburg is going down |
Carlo Ancellotti needs 2 go period. He is out of ideas .Same shit, same tactics, same players regardless of performance. This game was painful 2 watch Any way i was able to catch Lyon-OM. Ben Arfa looked impressive. What da hell happened 2 Taiye Taiwo? I didnot see his impact in the match |
@tharma if i might ask what part of the country are you from? |
the day we tell ourselves the truth and admit that the culture of a place is not a seperate entity from its development and advancement is the day we start identifying whats wrong with us in our entirety. (Our respect everybody stuff even those who have not earned it, don't question or demand accountability from people above u, leave everything in the hands of deity rather than demamd aggresively and ensure that we punish thieves who are destroying the country regardless of societal standing and an unwillingness to evolve with times etc) guys the west was once a ceasepool of corruption and underdevelopment. The populace changed their mentality and changed their way of life for good till we start questioning the way we do things, our mindset, mentality and YES OUR BELOVED CULTURE we will keep wallowing in darkness LEAVE THE WEST ALONE. LET US CLEAR OUR OWN SHIT B/4 WE START QUESTIONING WESTERN CULTURE. OUR HOME IS A CEASEPOOL OF EVERYTHING BAD AND WE ARE HERE QUESTIONING THE CULTURE OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR LIVES ORDERLY AND ARRAINGED Sorry guys for going off topic. Now can we please get back to the topic ![]() |
guyz the day we stop using colonization as an excuse for our decadent society is the day we will start moving in the right direction. Asia and Latin America suffered colonization and many of them got independence after African nations is Colonization the reason why 1. We have dead bodies laying on our streets for days and weeks decomposing 2. we have garbage all over the place and live with it like its normal (when we hear that Prsident Bush is coming we sweep and clear the streets and then return to normal garbage heaps after He leaves 3. we dont have electricity 4. we dont have running water 5. our roads are death traps 6. our schools are dilapidated 7. no good hospitals 8 no effective mass trans system 9. ineffective judicial system and police force 100. No law and order etc etc the saga/list continues yes its all the fault of whites and colonialism (dremoney is a genius to figure that out while chiling with law, order and social amenities in Jand) |
@dremoney Without resorting 2 personal insults let me ask you 2 questions (we don't even know each other and i don't know if you slaved to be in London, ive had a totally different experience and its been a very lovely experience in the States) 1. Do you think that the total development of a place is removed from the culture of the place? Do you think that the cultural practices of a place plays ANY part to play in the development? 2. If you hate a place where they drink, smoke, party, do drugs and fork around etc why don't you hate Nigeria? Nigerian men spend a lot of their time drinking pamy and beer, smoking, smoking igbo, and fork around too, even the married men. Do you just hate the fact that western women can do what Nigerian men do in Naija? Is that what youhave a problem with? And a general question guys A place that is culturally decadent is completely developed and lovely 2 stay A place with "good culture" has dead bodies on the streets, people acting like animals, trash ridden environment, no value for life etc and no hope of change anytime soon. Do you guys really think that our culture, mindset and mentality does not have anything to do with our beign regarded as the scum of the earth? till we acknowledge the truth nothing will change. Lets keep decieving ourselves and see where it gets us. |
so sad our best player this season is out get well sonn Rino ![]() |
Western Culture is 1000 times better than African culture. The proof is there for all to see. Bogus Claim: people in Africa have better culture than westerners Facts on ground: Africa is the worst continent in the world and the laughing stock of the world. People acting like animals all over the place. Infact the whole continent is a big safari. So before you talk down Western Culture ask yourself these questions How come we claim to "have grown up well" (whatever that means) and have 'culture' and the westerners--not so much but we are the most pathetic breed of humans on earth and We are like scum of the earth? HOW IS IT THAT A CONTINENT FULL OF PEOPLE THAT GREW UP WELL IS CRAP WHILE CONTINENTS THAT HAVE DECADENT CULTURE IS WHERE WE ALL WANT TO BE. We Africans are fools and shit will never change because we can't even tell ourselves the truth. Let us get to the level of Asia and Latin America b/ we start comparing ourselves with Westerners. What a joke we are ![]() |
