I started to watch Football and the Champions league b/4 the DSTV era, when Broussia Dortmound could easily put a whooping to the best English side namely Man U and your Arsenal could not win the likes of Fiorentina

From 1990 since the english were reinstated into europe till 2005

Only one   English team could make it anywhere near the finals of the European Cup

Italy had like 10-11 appearances and Spain like 7. Even Germany had up to 3 i think.

dont bother yourself. Anybody who had really been watching the champions league for more than 3 yrs would not dare to make an argument about Arsenal and Chelsea beign European powerhouses.

That argument in itself would be foolish.

Just 5-6 yrs ago, the likes of Fiorentina, Lazio, Valencia and Broussia Dortmound trash the shit out of the mediocare english teams that dominate the EPL/premiership

But the EPL is very strong now, all a 3-4 yr transformation

Only 5ys ago Arsenal and Chelsea would consider themselves as having made a big achievement to survive the first group stage only to be eliminated in the second one

And by the way, i regard Bayern with a lot more respect than the hyped teams that have no history in the most elite competition of European powerhouses

This thread is an exercise in complete futility

The guy who started this thread has been shouting that women should stop making themselves sex objects

But he turns around and classifies women with their sexual organs ie virgins/non-virgins


So if he wants women to stop beign sexual objects, why is his idea of doing that primarily one that also classifies women using their sex organs state

Well the EPL has benefited from the influx of foreigners just like the La liga and the Serie A They have added quality to it. but at the detriment of the National game just like in Spain.

But sincerely speaking, who would have given a thought to those EPL teams ten years ago now they are a threat.

Imagine Chelsea eliminating my Bayern would have been inconceivable 10-15 years ago but it happened 3 seasons ago.

Arsenal beating Real and Juve en route to the final would have been a scene from a science fiction 10 years ago but it really happened before my eyes 2 seasons ago.

Whoever had predicted Chelsea playing 3 out of UCL semis 10 years ago would have won the award for the lunatic of the century _{beating jackal to it}

Or EPL teams in 3 succesive finals. Infact times have changed and we have to start accepting the fact. Though I wish it would be over soon so that the old brigades would come back.

I just hope Milan and Madrid would help the old brigade keep the tradition and they wont allow any new winner for the UCL till we( Bayern) come back next season

For people like us who have been following the champions league for more than 10 years, i feel very sad about what has happened in the past 3yrs

I remember a time when the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea could not beat Fiorentina, Lazio,Broussia Dortmound and Valencia talkless of the european elite

I remember the time when the champions league quaterfinals usually had only one english representative who were for the most part, supsequently trashed out It used to be a battle mainly b/w teams from Spain, Italy and Germany for the Cup

Eternal european powerhouses and elites for me include

Madrid, Milan , Juventuz, Barca, Bayern, Manchester United and Liverpool and to a slightly lesser extent Ajax and Inter


Sorry Arsenal and Chealsea fans but even Porto have 2 CL in the past 18 years so they have even been more heavyweights than those 2


And please, the english press sucks

As much as we Easterners castigate the Northerners, i some times wonder if we are not as babaric or worse than they are

In the heart of Igboland from Aba to Owerri to Onitsha, especially in Aba and Onitsha the number of dead bodies that have always been littering the roads is really mind boggling

And what makes me sick is the level of support these babarians like Bakassi got from Easterners. Whenever they gather able bodied men and women and start to cut them to pieces people gather in masses and cheer

That kind of mentality makes me wonder how we differ from the northerners that are called babaric .

WHat the HECK IS BAKASSI??

A blood thirsty babarian group who have been left to roam about (and had official govermental support for years) who have gone about killing Thousands and Thousands of Nigerians in cold blood in eastern nigeria without any due process of law.

Whomever they say is a thief be you an innocent bystander of a wrongly accused is slowly cut into pieces (the same way they butcher animals) in the middle of a busy intersection or street and then set ablaze and the body left rght there in the street.

They have the will to kill whomever they want whenever they want regardless of if you did anything wrong or was just chilling in your house and fingered by some miscreants as a potential or suspected thief

I can't even count the number of dead bodies and babarian styled executions i witnessed in Aba and Onitsha b/4, during and after he bakassi days.

Dead bodies set ablaze always litter the streets.

When people are stuck on his kind of mentality and people support these kind of actions, what hope is left ?

And the most pathetic is people that have the audacity to come here and talk about westerners not having morals and Nigerians having more morals than westerners

Bakassi sets ablaze two in Abia

UMUAHIA—THE Abia State vigilance group popularly known as Bakassi has renewed its operation in Aba with the murder of two persons in the commercial city at the weekend.
One of those murdered whose name was given as Wogu was said to be chairman of the youth wing of Eziukwu Aba Town Union, while the other person was alleged to be a criminal. 

The body of Wogu was set ablaze at Omuma junction, while the other person whose identity was not known was set ablaze at the Aba- Owerri by Brass junction in a typical Bakassi style. 

A relation of Wogu told Vanguard that the late Wogu was not a criminal, adding that it was one of their relations who was allegedly indicted for causing trouble in the their community that invited Bakassi to the area and in the process, murdered the youth leader. 

Vanguard gathered in Aba that the vigilance group has been regrouping in many areas following the increasing incidence of robbery in the town, despite its official ban by the state government last year
