Imagine such sensationalism of journalism |
oya awon he hates us. the floor is yours. |
Good at least we are debating issues and not people or calling our selves names. this is the way to go. Just to add, just because Niger is not exporting now doesn't mean it wouldn't in future. Nigeria is the shortest route to the sea for the oil regions of Niger. The Beninnese are already thinking of a pipeline through their country but they dont have the money and are banking on China. The Chinese have suddenly developed frugality as it regards to financing African projects. Nigeria needs to seize on this
|
money121:so what have you got to say |
Agbegbaorogboye:I give up, nothing gets by you lot. At least admit you didn't have all the facts. I see you've made up your mind to look down on your country, I have chosen otherwise. |
Emvico34:Let's continue pray for them and constructively criticize them |
Agbegbaorogboye:Just because Niger doesn't export now doesn't mean they won't in future, or that the Beninese are not planning to dispose Nigeria of this opportunity collaborating with the Chinese (see below), even though Nigeria is a shorter route. Nigeria can even use its muscle to corner any Nigerien oil export through our territory and Benin wont dear to whimper Let's drop our pettiness and look beyond ourselves. That Nigeria is not what its supposed to be doesn't mean we destroy it or not make strategic decisions.

I must say Buhari might be frustratingly slow, but he is definitely a sure deal who means well. I am not from the south of Nigeria but I must say this project "sweet me die" May Allah continue to guide our leaders right, coz na we go hear wheeen if they are not
|
obaaderemi:I agree with you. but I think the safety and security of such an endeavour (the pipeline) through Nigeria is what they may have considered (given we are having problem using our own pipeline networks beyond lagos) Rail and road would also serve multiple purposes (unlike pipelines) of transporting goods and people. I saw this interesting video of pipeline being transported for the AKP Pipeline construction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45T3kgY3rg |
Although true he said that, but I feel punch is emphasising the sensational part over the economic reason he provided which is a fair point. Niger has no access to the sea and if Nigeria gets its act together infrastructurallyn, we will be the preferred route for Nigerien oil (and uranium). Imagine the attendant jobs and revenue that will accrue to Nigeria as a result of this. Not to speak of the geopolitical influence. China is currently reviving the ancient silk road that connected East Asia and Southeast Asia with South Asia, Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, East Africa and Southern Europe through road constructions, seaport development, railways etc. in central Asia countries, Pakistan, Iran and even Europe (read about it) If Nigeria were to get her acts right we should be reviving the ancient trans-Sahara trate routes strategically building influence in the countries that currently occupy those routes (Timbuktu, Agades, Tripoli etc) non of these North African countries or middle eastern countries would have "nothing on us". But we are to busy fighting ourselves to see the potential in ourselves |
That is blatant distortion. I watched the interview. why not discuss issues, salient ones he raised; 1.Governors were elected so they shouldn't expect the center to solve everything 2. Why have the governors killed the Local Governments 3. Rather than complaining about debt why not discuss how any country can develop without infrastructure 4. average crude production was around 2million bpd and average price of $100 between 1999 to 2014. Yet no roads no rail no power. compare that with average production and price of the last 6 year. How do you expect us to fund infrastructure 5. On the Kano - maradi (Nigeria - Niger) railway and road. Niger just discovered oil - we expect Nigeria to be their route for exports (sea). Do we want Benin republic to get that business (Buhari' word) This are just some of the issues he raised in the discussions, but trust Nigerian media - sensational sound bites and frivolity is what they will highlight. I think our problem is we always want someone to blame for our problems |
@OP reasoning with stark illiterates see their comments? All you did was ask a question using an analogy. All they can do is insult you. A real case of "...deaf, dumb and blind, they are void of wisdom" |
See the actual statement of position. But imagine the innuendos being reported by Nigerian "tabloids" about what happened. |
Amusing...
|
hmm |
yorubarere:Poor dear, I am not Fulani. but in your fickle mind you think anyone that is not "you" is "them". No wonder most blacks are where they are - it's a mindset issue |
Jalinspy:You will be surprised that I am not in support of this government. And destroying the country to get to the administration is not a strategy - But that will only make sense to you if you're not a secessionist! |
kaluxy007:You guys are hippocrates. Nobody is delighted at killing of humans anywhere. But going by your twisted logic the 80 people killed in Kebbi State 2 days ago which I did not mention here, does that mean I support their killing?, or were they igbos or yorubas? why are you guys incapable of having intelligent discussions? |
vanunu:Do you know the massacre that ensued immediately after the announcement by the British of the separation? |
its hopeless having a complex discussion with simple minds. |
I dont know why I have this gut feeling that there are plans by external forces to destabilise the country using some myopic few. From social media projection of potential warlords (igboho, Kanu), to amplification of ethnic strife, killings and reprisal (igangan, etc). And some online accounts/minions which instigate people against each other, you wonder are they really Nigerians or agents commissioned to sow chaos? Those keen on observation of trends will know that this route leads to no good. Ask Uganda, Libya, Iraq. In all these countries they killed themselves, they never achieved what they fought for and the wealth from their natural resources kept on flowing outside their country - Precious stones for Uganda, Oil and gas for Libya and Iraq. But Patriotic Nigerians let's wake up before we sleep work ourselves off the precipice (edge). |
NwaAmaikpe:Now that my friend is analogical reasoning. (I hereby upgrade my u-perception on NL to R; "reasoner" ![]() I for one am one of those who have been aching at the lack of direction of this government and see 2023 as too faraway to remedy the situation. But at the same time I refuse to help outsiders burn down the house to spite the head of the house. It is these varying shades of grey (opinions)that most people that view politics in 2-tone fail to appreciate. Hence the word unsophisticated |
How many Nigerians are on Twitter |
Valid questions for country-confused minions
|
yes it is what it is |
infer from it what you may. it's a parable |
There lived 3 chicken in a pen, also in the pen were 10 eggs about to hatch. But Slithering outside the pen were hungry reptiles of all sorts. They knew if they were to feast on the birds and their eggs, then now rather than later was the time for it. For if the eggs hatch and the chicks grow into chickens, then the mere numbers of claws that will scamper at the sight of snake could injure the snake, thus the reptile will have to find a new food. The chickens are the citizens and the pen is Nigeria while the slithering reptiles are drug lords (who have turned nigeria to a transit hub), the extractive corporations (who will gain when government is distracted), the war merchants (who will run guns to the most populous black country) Imagine an ingenious plan by the snakes to sow division and conflict by exploiting something as flimsy as the colour of the birds feathers (you are red and the other is white so each of you should get its own pen house). A great argument happens between the birds and in the conflict that ensue the pen house door is broken, letting in all the creepy reptiles. There are a thousand ways this could end, but most certainly not as the birds hopped |
