KIKO720: Greetings nairalanders, Let me get straight to the point. I am a student, ALL OF A SUDDEN this semester i started noticing Numerous bed bugs in my room both on the walls, curtains, and some other places which i cant mention all, FUNNY ENOUGH i ddnt experience anything of such since my 3 years in the school.I wondered what, how and why it happening now. Please nairalanders HELP ME WITH POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS and prevention. and maybe any Insecticide that is very useful. thanks Anticipating for your help all Lol, it's funny but a norm in places where u have multiple pple cohabiting esp in hostels etc. Just go to the store and get the bottled Baygon with a dispenser attached then get Sniper, all together it shouldn't cost more than 2k get a manual sprayer from guys selling pesticides on the street. Mix both at a ratio of 5:1 with baygon being the majority. Spray on foams, corners etc especially in places where you see the bugs, spray directly on them as much as u can and all hiding places and leave the room for at least 4-5hrs, that sh*t is strong. Repeat every 5days till they're totally eliminated. "That's what my guys used in the hostels back in the days". Enjoy |

Im2Busy2Bother: The level of charging current you see is dependent on the SOC ( State Of Charge) of the battery. The more depleted the battery is the HIGHER the charging current will be.
To achieve the maximum charge, you have to totally drain the battery ( that is use it till it goes off), then try charging back and see if it will hit the maximum rated charging current which is 20A for your set up.
Gracias Gracias Papi, I totally agree with you, don't mind me, I was trying to compare it to another charger I have "sterling power ultra charger" it's 24v 30amp and it maintains a straight 30amp till it goes into float, then it begins to trickle charge; it is only at this stage that the amperage begins to drop. Oh well it's 2 different technology based on the same premise, so it'll definitely not be the same. Once again thanks boss, ur post was insightful I do appreciate |

ceejay80s: I told him that u were the one that bought the brand new inverter battery for me, he shouted and said why I no tell am on time ,make he greet u very well. Its ur turn to teach us about the 24v smart charger, U guys with 24v ups or 1.2kva ups are u ready ? Lol ceejay80s abeg I no fit laff na real "greet me well " oh well nothing spoil, the charger can do both 12v and 24v so u can choose what u want; but like I told him, he could have ordered higher amp capacity chargers doing 24v that way he'll broaden the market. He said he would try, but his problem was that the last batch of 24v chargers didn't sell at all. So we're hoping that with the level of sales now, he'll improve on his wares. |

Leopantro: Sorry I was busy then. It shows green when the batteries are fully charged. If left for a few days and the charger is reconnected, the light will turn red for a few minutes then turn green again. In my case I had to charge the batteries while the UPS was disconnected from the batteries for it to work properly. When fully charged I reconnect the wires to use it. The problem was from the UPS.
Sadly, I don't use it any more, my setup got burnt from an electrical surge. Also burnt my two generators close to it. So sorry about your loss, God will surely aid you in replacing ur losses. Remain Blessed. |

After testing the charger I only have one reservation, the LCD indicator only showed 10.9amp at fast charge when the charger is supposed to be a 20amp charger. I was thinking it would show 20amp. For those using the digital versions pls does ur indicator show the total amp capacity of ur charger Looking forward to ur responses. |

iamawara: Thanks so much for the reply. I know of the battery. It OK, the only doubt is the 2 ceiling Fans, do they consume much charge pls? I don't know the number of wt they work on. But as stated the appliances I just listed, with a very good 100ah battery will it last me for like 10 hrs after a successful battery charger? Each of the ceiling fans has a power wattage of 45 watts each making 90watts, the TV will be like 100watts and the bulbs, decoder, laptop and phones will consume a total wattage of almost 100watts. That total load on a 100ah battery will definitely not take u more than 5hours; that's if it takes u that far. My opinion sha. |

iamawara: This is the best post I have ever seen here. And am glad, I will love to set up one of this inverter for my house. But please you guys should help me answer these questions.
1) I have 4 energy saver bulbs 2) 1 LED polystar TV, 1 startime decoder 3) 2 ceiling Fans 4) my laptop and 2 mobile phones.
I have a 1000watts inverter, and planning of buying a 100ah battery, please since I have that inverter must I buy the blue gate UPS? Plus and for how many hours will my fearly used 100ah battery will last. Thanks and God bless you guys Welcome boss, best decision u'll ever make; on ur question it'll on depend on a number of factors ranging from how good ur battery will be to the level of charge and of course the most important being the load u'll putting on the setup. As for the UPS u don't need it since it serves the same purpose as the inverter. But depending on your type of inverter u could either skip the smart charger if it comes with an inbuilt charger, or get a smart charger if it doesn't . |

billyG: Oga ceejay,i hail oo! I bought d 20A,12v charger frm yur guy @ chidi sam ventures, but discovered it cannot charge my ups which is24v, 1500va,use 24v batteries in series inside making it difficult to use a 12v battery charger,i told d seller i will return it for a 24v or 12v/24v battery charger which he said he dnt hav b/c pple dnt demand for that he wont order for only one item, culd u use yur good rapport with him to convince him to b supplying d 24v charger, since it will not b inconvenient 4 me to be disconnecting/connecting batteries to charge in parallel anytime phcn bring light. I'd advise you save urself the stress and just get a 12v UPS without battery for #1500 or max #2000 and keep ur 24v UPS for now, I got a 24v charger on konga, the worst 25k i've ever spent, the charger is more manual than my manual grinding machine. It's just sitting down doing nothing cos everytime the lite goes u have to reconnect it all over again and the process na jamb form. So do urself a favor and get a 12v UPS or if u can afford it get an inverter, u can get in computer village for about 18k for a 1kva 12v series just ask around. Jah Bless. |
Nairaland General › Re: Hidden Truth About The Fall Of The Naira by saint2ace(m): 10:06pm On Feb 25, 2016 |
ikbnice: Please let me explain to those of us who don't understand Economic terms. Dollar has not increased since Buhari became president.
1. Dollar is not our currency so dollar should not be our business.
2. Our problem is not the government but our problem is our importers and consumers.
3. Naira has remained at 197 naira to 1 dollar since Buhari became president.
4. Buhari has promised not to devalue the Naira and he has maintained that promise.
5. Both at CBN and at interbank rates, dollar has remained 197.
6. However because we are too lazy to produce what we use in Nigeria we import even toothpicks and matches.
7. Buhari does not like the importation of luxury goods because luxury goods is the reason for most corruption, that is why he banned 41 products from having access to forex.
8. However when Nigerian importers insisted on importing those 41 products, FG asked them to find their dollar at the BDCs parallel market also known as black market.
9. And to discourage the pressure Nigerians are mounting on the Naira just to get dollars for importation, CBN banned DMBs from selling dollars to BDCs.
10. To survive the pressure of excess dollar demands, BDCs resorted to sourcing for dollars from neighbouring countries through illicit money laundering routes.
11. Because of the risks faced by BDCs to source for dollars, and because of the increase in demand for dollars by importers because China just resumed from their business holidays, BDCs keep increasing the price at which they exchange dollars to naira and now it is more than 300 naira to 1 dollars.
[b]12. However that does not mean that gov't has changed the exchange rate because if our genuine importers go to CBN and fill Form M to import raw materials for local production, they will get dollars at 197 naira each.
13. So the problem is that we love to consume luxury foreign products yet we are too lazy to manufacture them here.
14. For example, you will see a dull girl using iPhone 5 without even knowing simple physics and computer engineering part of how that phone was produced.
15. I want Buhari to ban every foreign product from Nigeria until Nigerians learn to produce and use Made in Nigeria products.
16. Let us stop complaining about dollar as if dollar has become Nigeria's currency.
17. It is even bad enough that most of those complaining about the high exchange rate of dollar do not have 1 single dollar in their purse.
PLEASE USE MADE IN NIGERIA PRODUCTS... God bless 9ja.

TeOwl: I am interested BUT isn't there risk of explosion when you convert a normal petrol (gasoline) generator to a propane generator?
ceejay80s, saint2ace, bishop4life and pato405 what do you think about this stuff? The technology has been around for awhile but have u asked why it's not so popular? Obviously it cleaner and quieter than using a petrol gen and only involves changing the caburator to the one that channels the propane gas, or one that can use both; unfortunately the cost of using gas still outweighs the cost of petrol and that's the singular reason it's not that popular. The only cost efficient reason to use one now would be that u're connected to the gas grid and get it at a very cheap price. Note this is just my opinion. Cheers |
