CareerRe: Radiography Vs Pharmacy. Which Is More Lucrative by sakaguchi(m): 10:10pm On Apr 26, 2021
To be honest with you, it's pharmacy.

There is this logic of being your own master. In any hospital, the head of pharmacy department and the top dogs in the department are all pharmacists.
In same hospitals, the head of radiology department are strickly doctors called radiologist. Radiographers are not radiologists. Radiographers expose pateotns to radiation of xrays, CT scan, MRI etc and that's where their work ends. This images are by themselves useless for clinical practice unless they are interpreted to help make a diagnosis. Only radiologist are entitled to interpret radiographic images. As a radiographer, you'll be under the shadow of a radiologist for life. Even if you venture into private practice, no doctor worth their name will send patients to you and rely on your interpretation. Whatever a radiographer knows about image interpretation, the average doctor knows and know even more. For more complex image studies, input of specialist doctors called radiologsts are sorted so as a radiographer, you'll still be under the shadow of the radiologists even in private practice.

If working for people is your thing, go for radiography.
If being your own boss is the idea. Go for pharmacy. Both pays. Some radiographers earn more than some pharmacst and some pharmacists earn more than some radiographeras it will profit you to know that the average pharmacist earns more than the average radiographer both in private and government agencies.

Those who enjoy radiology are the doctors called radiologist.

I hope this helps

zoba88:
As shared by Timothy....

'This is the last time I'd be doing this bullshit INEC ad-hoc nonsense.
Having disenfrachised myself in the name of ad-hoc staff, I was almost thoroughly beaten.
I was cowed into submitting the bulk of ballot papers for mass thumbprinting.
Well, I filled the incidence form and I hope the result would be cancelled.
I'm just angry with everything most especially for getting involved in the first place.
No one forced me actually.
First, this cardreader rubbish should be quashed in subsequent elections.
The whole aim has been defeated.
Out of about 900 registered voters in my unit, the cardreader could authenticate only 15.
The rest had to do manual accreditation, which opened more room for rigging. Quite sad!
This Prof. Mahmood has to resign immediately after this elections and apologize to Nigerians.
The extra 1 week he got did not prove anything different. In fact he's made Jega's INEC much more coveted.
As at 11am, we had not seen materials, the people were already agitated, thinking we were compromised...they started threatening to descend on us...luckily we escaped that.
Because we reported late at the polling unit, we were forced to extend voting time till around7:30pm.
When it was dark, this people requested for the remaining ballot papers, that is the tradition of the polling unit not to return ballot papers to INEC...before we knew it, the atmosphere became very tensed.
The short of it is that we allowed them to do their wish but I pray the result is cancelled.
The fact is, most of rigging is done in the rural areas. There, there is no electoral laws, anything goes... Party agents do the voting for people and you don't dare talk.
We must penetrate the grassroots if we must overcome this plague.
I'm glad I returned safely'

In medicine, there is something called Dyspnea on exertion. After walking a little, the patient has shortness of breath and find it difficult to breathe. This is same with Buhari, he spends all the money at his disposal to get himself fit for campaigns and then spend the 4 years in office having shortness of breath, unable to do anything. What you need sir is rest. By tomorrow, I will join millions of Nigeria who love you to vote for Buhari so you can rest. You need to rest sir. Apart from exertional dyspnea, you have senile dementia. We don't deserve this as a country and you don't deserve the stress too. Rest Baba.Rest.
Christianity EtcRe: Why You Must Not Speak Ill Of Men Of God by sakaguchi(m): 8:25am On May 06, 2018
OK, let's see what Jesus said of the men of God during His time

Matthew 23

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. [14] [b]

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

16 “Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18 You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. 22 And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[c]”

Jesus gave seven woes to the hypocritical men of God during His time on earth. How I see it, we as Christians shouldn't shy away of speaking truth to power. Woe on the men of God today, they are more hypocritical than the Pharisees of Jesus' time

PhonesRe: Whatsapp Introduced "Pin Chat" - See Features by sakaguchi(m): 8:24am On May 20, 2017
It was 2013, our car had just arrived Jos metropolis and we were greeted by the stinging cold that the capital of Plateau State is famous for. One would wonder that of all times I would have chosen to come to Jos unprepared - without a sweater twice the thickness of my duvet, I chose to make my entry that cold November evening. Maybe that was quite silly of me but I had to be in Jos that day and that time. You see, a relative of mine came from the village and "small Doctor" as I was fondly called then was suppose to take her to Evangel hospital (also called Jan Kwano or Bingham University Teaching Hospital) Jos. This is an "Emergency" was the assessment my 200L mind could make and my plan was for her to be in Jos as soon as possible. Alas, she had Obstetric Fistula also called Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF).

VVF is a surgical condition that causes a hole between the vagina and rectum or bladder of a woman. It occurs after a prolong obstructed labour in places where access to Caesarean Section are not readily available. It is caused when the baby is badly positioned, when the pelvis of the woman is too small or when the head of the baby is too big. It will interest is to know that while VVF is virtually absent in the Europe and America, it is commonly associated with poverty, lack of quality health care access, child marriage or early child bearing - hence its prevalence in Africa with Nigeria taking a lion share of it's burden.

The paradox in my story is that when I finally got to Evangel Hospital- I wasn't shivering again, neither was I cold anymore. I had been gutted with a fire of wonder and anger over the plight of several women who just like my patient have lived with the agony of VVF, this realisation stole the cold in me. Many of these women have had to live with VVF for decades, their stories were blood cuddling. I spent the better part of that night crying in my heart. These women have been isolated and treated like lepers by their spouse and family, most of them whilst still grieving the death of their babies that departed this world before their first cry. VVF leaves its patients with inability to control flow of urine or faeces, with this comes the well storied characteristic smell, isolation, rejection by family or spouse (sometimes), depression and suicidal thoughts usually ensues. If nothing is done to assuage their plights, these women come down with infection or failed kidneys.

Come May 23rd 2017, Nigeria will join the rest of the world in marking "The International Day to End Obstetric Fistula". This is an annual practice we have kept since its announcement by the United Nations in 2012. Though some things have been done since then, we are no where near where we need to be. Nigeria is still the unfortunate leaders in some of the worlds poor health care indicators - VVF inclusive. Out of the estimated 2 million people living with VVF worldwide, Nigeria is home to about 120 thousand of them with 12 thousand new cases diagnosed yearly. The horrifying reality is that only 5 thousand of these persons have access to treatment. These startling facts must be put to an end and there is no better time than now for YOU to instigate a demonstrable will to see this campaign to an end.

You can start by being part of campaigns like outreaches or among the many people who will raise awareness of this condition online by bringing to the consciousness of the government the need to upgrade the existing emergency Obstetric centres nationwide. Little as this may look, it will go a long way in reducing some of these appalling health care indexes. By talking about the scourge called VVF, we can get to educate ourselves as any of us can then identify and bring succour to that depressed young woman with VVF by just telling her the condition is treatable- free of charge in some centres nationwide. Help in this advocacy to disseminate information about obstetrics fistula and maternal care, join the the campaign for a better funding of the available centres we already have and be part of those educating and discouraging in it's entirety, the practice of child marriage. Little efforts as these will ensure our mothers and sisters don't have to face this leprous scourge in the act of bringing forth new life.

I've only been paid 4 x and all effort to get the prize for the last two years has been futile. Now in my final year, i complained with litanies of calls and mails to Mrs Oshikoya who wouldnt pick her office line even if her life depended on it. She doesnt respond to mail either. This unbecoming reality should be nipped at the bud as soon as possible as i suspect fraud.
