Christianity EtcRe: Why I Raise My Children Without God by sakaguchi(m):
I was born in the north and only spent 2 of my 23 years on earth South of the Niger, question is, if I follow the assertion of the bible to its core, then I will not be happy even in heaven, for instance, all of my close friends are Muslims, the few that I have who are christians are mostly from my state, my girlfriend is a Muslim and I dare say that she's better than most of the christian sisters I have seen going to church, this is not to say Muslims are all in all good as I have seen many many Muslim girls that are badt, so badt I could swear the fear of God is far from them, I find it difficult to tell my good girl that she's is going to hell simply because she's a Muslim, if she had been born by my parents and I was born by hers, I would have been a Muslim and she, a Christian, would that mean that I will go to the pit of hell while she enjoys in heaven? If that is the case, is the habitat called heaven not a place people go by chance?
Come to think of it, is Mahatma Ganhi ( a hindu) going to hell? For God sake that guy is Godly than many Christians and Muslim, why would God put Mahatma Gandhi in the same hell fire that Adolf Hittler will occupy?
I don't mean to cause any offense here but I like the lifestyle of Budha more than Muhammed, and I think that Gandhi is better than pope Francis, pope Benedict, Bishop Oyedepo, and pastor Adeboye combined. And all these are good men. I am sure that none of us here on this thread would be a Muslim or a Christian if we were born in Japan. Many people take the religion of the society and family they are born into, if the author of this piece was born in Saudi Arabia, she won't hold this opinion, If boko haram's shekau was born in Harlem (USA) he might have been a rapper. If that is the case, I think it is racist if one religion goes to heaven and the rest all go to hell.
I believe in God, I believe in heaven and hell, but I believe that all religion on EARTH are scam, well, that's just me thinking.
Heaven and hell is going to be judged with right and wrong and not by religion, this again is my humble opinion.

@Nyles and @Wittywizard I pray both of you school/schooled in Uniabuja, because that would torpedo a lot of impression I have formed while following this thread ever since the OP opened it. The write-ups and grammar I have seen here are just terrible, the only time you get to see articulate grammar that makes sense on this thread is when a certain dude Mrpresido and Richiez (I guess) COPY AND PASTE newspaper publication (apart from the copy and paste, even these duo are nothing commendable), every other thing here are eyesores and it is betoken of the fact that Uniabuja is gliding down the ramp to hit rock-bottom when other schools are soaring. Our school can no longer lure bright minds to it, I must say that the applicants here do not give me any reason to cheer and this malignant problem plaguing uniabuja is not the fault of the Government, why is it that the best of best of applicants would rather fill in Unilag, OAU, UI, UNN, Unilorin and leave uniabuja with the least of applicants in all federal universities, that means that our lecturers are also to be blamed in the collapse of education structure here and nationwide, afterall, no Nigerian University is among the elite institutions in Africa, Government and ASUU together with its affiliates (NASU, SSANU) are to be blamed.
January 2012 when ASUU
was on one of their many
strikes, there was this joke
circulating on twitter that
between (ASUU), matchstick
and thunder, who strikes
more? Funny as it sounded, it
only brought humour to an
issue that should be looked
into by our lecturers with a
sombre introspection. ASUU
formed since 1978 are yet to
learn how to combat the
Govt. over its insouciance on
Nigeria's education, in its 35
years of existence, it is yet
to come out with measures
that speaks to the Govt. in
the language they
understand while leaving the
innocent Nigerian students in
schools and in classes
learning the art of life.
Funny how all their industrial
actions are centered on #
MONEY with every other
issues being relegated to the
back-burner. ASUU cannot
claim to have the interest of
the Nigerian students at
heart while they are directly
culpable in adding additional
years to their stint in school.
Even if ASUU were to speak
on the quality of education
and infrastructures available
in our ivory towers, they
consciously avoid mentioning
those far more important
issues in the same breath as
their #MONEY.
Come to think of it, it is not
as if they are not partners in
crime in the deplorable state
of our educational centres
today. Our truculent
erudites are ever willing to
down-tool, a practice that
has seemingly become an
annual event.
Who for God-sake will go on
strike over the poor
knowledge delivery from our
lecturers, it is not new that
harassment of female
students have become a
perennial practice in our
institutions, just last month, a
scapegoat was caught by the
horn in ABU, but these are
practices that occur
everyday in every Nigerian
University.
Who will strike on these crimes committed by ASUU members?
Or that handouts are still
being traded in our schools
and lecturers miss lectures
with impunity.
Who will strike on this?
They talk of salaries and
allowances and yet some are
(unfortunately) barely
qualified to lecture on the
courses they teach.
Back then when I was in
100L, I was lectured in
physics and chemistry as do
many of my colleagues, I can
bet that we could easily swap
position with our lecturers so
that they sit and listen while
we do the talking.
Annoyingly, our knowledge of
physics came entirely from
reading textbooks in that our small library in gwagwalada are not from
our strike-happy lecturers
who with due respect could
do with some lectures
themselves.
So the question still
surface for the umpteenth
time,
who will strike over all
these impropriety by ASUU members?
That being said, it is an
embarrassment that we have
a president who is suppose to
have passed through a
university, if this assertion
is true, it is inexcusable that
he treats education with
such levity. Words on the
street is that he was once a
lecturer,meaning that he too
would have, like his peers,
down-tool severally over this
perennial quagmire, then why
would he display this boorish
actions over legitimate
demands from our teachers?
Ofcourse an easy-to-bring
answer to this last question
is that our leaders have sent
out their wards outside the
shores of this country while
leaving our barely surviving
institutions to plunge into
decrepitude.
So the ultimate question still
remain unanswered,
Who suffers in these
frequent and incessant
strikes ASUU embark on?... #
The Nigerian students
ofcourse...
ThankGod its only ASUU
that is embarking on strike,
not the #INTERNET, that
means our main and primary
source of learning is still
working.
When next ASUU decides to
downtool, they should spare
us the long rhetoric and
state the obvious, their
strike centres on their
already tumescent pockets
not on our best interest. Let
us graduate in peace and in
time and leave our fight for
us to take.
If GEJ who was once a lecturer acts this way, it
brings into askance if your
reason(s) for striking is
internecine among ASUU
members, don't be surprise if the current ASUU chairman (Faggae) becomes a governor and personally see to the death of his state university. @Wittywizard, these people are not sincere jaare,
one thing still stands out as
TRUTH, the Govt officials
are overpaid...
ASUU are (supposedly/
controvertibly) underpaid, so
too is the Military, Police,
Teachers, Nurses etc, if all
these are to down-tool
annually as ASUU is incline
to, I wonder what will be of
our country.
This same ASUU were in
UniAbuja while
administrative incompetence
which led to horrendous
hardship of Medical, Vet and Engineering students
festered right under their
noses while they carried out
their ASUU meetings
unperturbed.
Sha! They should Keep it up!!!
Federal Govt and its
partners in crime (ASUU,
Police and co) are steadily
fanning the flame and Embers of
revolution in this country.
.......Emmanuel.

nyles: Whatever the case is, ASUU will come back to classrooms, the FG or ASUU cannot truncate anyone's future. Both parties have no choice, they cannot keep us at home forever. it is still left to us to develop ourselves on our own if we want to succeed in life, ASUU or no FG! I HAVE FOLLOWED this problem for years and i know something is not right somewhere within both parties! This is the kind of post that takes away God and faith and hope from the hearts of men, instead, you should say positive things to encourage people in the face of this stand off! Please restrict your weeping, it is not for us! A man is fighting to cross a river of crocodiles and all you tell him is that wild animals will devour him even if he succeeds??!! We all are aware of the tense situation on ground but some of us have made a decision to stop complaining around and start maintaining determination. it is only us that can change things starting with ourselves. whether you like it or not, those who work, contribute and stay positive will rise above all this confusion and bring Nigeria pride and those who like to analyse without raising a muscle will fade into obscurity Please try to encourage people, you need to see what people post sad, no one will need to tell you that some are close to suicide, not everyone is strong that is why so many need words of strength; dont increase the depression index for our youths, we have a future by God's grace! angry undecided . Christianity EtcRe: Redeem Church Pastor's Daughter Converted To Islam by sakaguchi(m):
And this issue would spiral into controversy?
Why na? This girl is an adult for God sake, people should be allowed to take decision when they are of age.
SMH on all those Christians who say she must have been brainwashed, if a Muslim had converted to Christianity, it would have been the work of God abi? Or do you think Allah is not able to draw up converts to Himself? Do you all know that all of Africa are converts to both Islam and Christianity, the great grand father of the pastor would be disappointed the pastor is not worshiping the god of his ancestors. That is it, even the Christians of today are converts.
I may want to fault the girls impression on life, who told her she can't be a Muslim with her parents, would her new found attitude endear are parents to Islam if she is bent on drawing up controversy from it? My girlfriend of 6 years is a Muslim, I intend to get married to her, my family are strong practicing christians and her folks are strong practicing muslims. Every Sunday she calls me on phone and reminds me not to miss church, I encourage her not to miss any fast and every morning after her Sahur during this month of Ramadan, we spend the rest time with ourselves before the day starts proper. I love her and she loves me and our parents understands that, and I do not in any way intend to compel her to convert, if she'll remain a Muslim after our marriage so be it and if she decides to convert, it will surely not be because I forced her into it. The world we live in today should not be bordered by religious fault-lines because one thing I sure as h*ll knows is that, love conquers all.
If truly her dad is threatening her, then I don't think it is a sound advice telling her to go with him, as I still think involving CAN, JNI and shari'a court in this is equally not a sound advice. She should try her luck in school again and I'm sure that the Emir and the Muslim umma can fend for her education if they so choose. What goes around comes around, muslims convert to christians, so too do christians convert to islam, religious people become atheist and atheist become religious, that's the world we live in, when will people stop being surprise about this?

Foreign AffairsRe: "I Want To Export Gay Marriage Around The World":david Cameron(british PM) by sakaguchi(m): 1:25pm On Jul 27, 2013
.
PoliticsRe: British PM Vows To Export Gay Marriage Worldwide by sakaguchi(m):
There is something in the water Britons drink that we are benighted with in Nigeria, I certainly admire Cameron and indeed many other brits like him who have this mentality that the whole world is lying down waiting to take a cue from them, and somewhere the grey matter of most Africans, there is that submissive tendency in them, so the best we try to do if it does not favor us is arguing among ourselves.
See, I say this for the umpteen time, nobody can force a sovereign nation that knows her onions into accepting alien cultures which is out of tune with the norms in their society. If Cameron likes, he should talk from morning till night in that his small 10th Downing Street residence, the average Chinese man would not give a rat's arse about what he is saying, but should the Chinese premier speaks, many Europeans pay attention with at least one of their ears.
Cameron and his croonies are discussing on how to bring their phantasmogoria to life and we Nigerians (with our centuries of slave mentality) are debating it. Could it be that the reason why we and our senate keep debating this issue is because we are waiting to be convinced? I'm more than sure that if Gay marriage is legalized in Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican, it wouldn't be a month before we accept it without questioning, copy cats that we are.
Let's bring this argument home folks, if GEJ and an assemblage of ACF, OPC and Ndi'igbo are in the multi billion naira Aso rock conference room and are discussing how to export polygamy first to UK, then to France, then Australia, and indeed all corners of the world, I tell you something, no eyebrows will be raised in the aforementioned countries and they would not even debate it, if for anything, they would consider this not so unique culture of ours barbarous and a shear show of depravity. True, many funky nigerians who would like to take on the name of being "liberals" would look at our extended polygamous family system with jaundiced retina. If that is the case, then why are we now debating this European culture as if we have nothing better doing?
Situations, the way they are right now is as simple as could be, if the UK is the best place for being gay, then the cerebral Cameron should be thinking of IMPORTING gays from all corners of the world so as to make Britain a hub for faggotism and gayism (pardon my use of words). The idea of EXPORTING an unsellable idea to all corners of the world is not only uneconomical but would be time wasting IF and only IF Africans get busy doing important things rather than discussing this repulsive European culture.
AFRICA is indeed the HOME and ORIGIN of all kinds of MAN, HOMOsapiens, HOMO erectus, HOMO habilis but it certainly is not the home of HOMOsexuals.

PoliticsRe: No Age Restriction In Islamic Marriage – Prof Akintola by sakaguchi(m): 11:48pm On Jul 26, 2013
Child marriage is not bad in Nigeria na! Why is this thing being discussed everyday. Nigeria is not an Islamic country, neither is is a Christian country. If the Christians South of the Niger can not stand the site of Child marriage, then they should not give their daughters out to marriage while still a child. Leave those who have no crux on the issue be, if this professor and Yerima don't have problem with child marriage and Yerima give out his daughter which he sired from a thirteen year old girl to this wowo professor, how is it Stella Damuscus or all of you problem. Some people can form holier than thou too much. This is democracy for God sake, you don't like child marriage, some people like it, it went through a vote and the people who wanted it won, the democratic thing to do is to accept the will of the people, not trying to force your own minority opinion on everybody. After all, Prof Mahakmooood the (SAW) prick bleeped somebody when she was nine and he is the best man to have ever walked on earth (this point is still controversial though), then why must we crucify Yerima for even going 4 years higher than the greatest man ever? Please, live and let every other person live. This is DEMOCRACY in action.

Cut her out of your life and move on, thank God you noticed this before it got too far.
As for your cousin, he just bit your finger while you are feeding him, you don't really need to cut him out of your life but please, kick his but.t out of your house, I really don't like it when things like this come between family but their need to be lines drawn, make sure you stay clear of him afterwards. Investigate your friend well, if truly he did encourage your brother on this path of insanity, then therein lies the big disappointment. You get to choose your friends in life not your cousins, and if your friend could do this to you, worst still when he is not even the one that is pushing for it, then it is simply bad. Make sure your brother is not just covering for him.
Hope this helps...
