Patience and Prayer

Patience and Prayer are the best ways to deal with any bad thing that happens. Being patient sometimes means to do nothing except wait for Allah to remove whatever is bothering us. Sometimes it means not to give up your belief and stand firm; not to be shaken. Whenever we need extra help, we should turn to God and pray. And if we are true believers, we won't only do this when we need something, but we will pray everyday. Then we will be closer to God, and know that He will always be with us when we need Him.

Belief, Love and Peace for All

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all live together on earth in Peace? Imagine, there'd be nobody stealing; nobody hurting or killing; no one shouting or swearing or calling names, people would love and look after each other. Wouldn't that be like heaven on earth?

Well. That's exactly what the Last Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was sent to teach us: how people, all over the earth, can learn to live in peace together, without fighting each other, and enjoy all the good things God has given us. How?

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "You will not enter heaven until you believe; and you will not believe until you love one another. Should I not guide you to a thing that if you do it will increase love amongst you? Spread "As salam' (peace be with you)"

In this special saying of the Prophet, he mentions three important things: Belief, Love and Peace. Each one is important and they are all linked closely together. If we want to enjoy peace we should believe and want happiness not just for ourselves but for others as well. These three life-altering things could really change our world, if only people could practice them. Maybe it's because some, are just not looking for them in the right place, they look everywhere but sometimes forget to look at themselves, in their own hearts, where belief, love and peace begin.


So Abunna, If you’re truly what you claim to be, you should “love for others what you love for yourself”. May God forgive every one of us.

Ramadan is the name of the Muslims' fasting month. Ramadan comes approximately every 11.5 months (10 to 12 days earlier every year, because the Muslim month is 29 days except for Ramadan which could be 29 or 30, and February in the normal calendar is almost always 28 days while the other months are usually 30 to 31 days such as July). So fasting could occur during the summer and during the winter:

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle took an oath that he would abstain from his wives, and at that time his leg had been sprained (dislocated). So he stayed in the Mashruba (an attic room) of his for 29 days. Then he came down, and they (the people) said, "O Allah's Apostle! You took an oath to abstain from your wives for one month." He said, "The month is of twenty nine days." (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Divorce, Volume 7, Book 63, Number 212)"

The Muslims start the month of Ramadan by sighting the "new moon", which is the crescent as opposed to the full moon, and they end it by either sighting the crescent again, which would appear on either the 29th or the 30th day, or by fasting 30 days. If the moon for any reason doesn't appear after the 30th day, then Muslims must end their fasting.

Muslims fast simply because Allah Almighty commands them to do so. We fast from sun rise to sun set; approximately from 5:45 am till 6:00 pm. The time range is shorter during the winter because the sun sets earlier, hence, making the fasting days shorter. No drinking or eating is allowed during those times.

It is quite unfortunate that many of us behave rationally and so negligent with our speeches. Truly I’m just a new person to this page, and I felt highly disappointed that most of the respondent are not seeing reason; that will must all tolerate each other, and try to fight the indecency within our society and the world at large.

For every good friend of Islam or the believer of God, greeting to Muslim is SALAM ALAIKUN (Peace be unto you) or congratulate him/ her on witnessing another Ramadan by saying RAMADAN MUBARAK or RAMADAN KAREEM.
