The Bible addresses the first law of thermodynamics (known as the Law of Conservation of Energy), which states that while energy can be changed from one form to another, it can’t be created or destroyed. This law disproves Sir Fred Hoyle’s ‘steady state’ or ‘continuous creation’ theory, which has been discarded by scientists. Hoyle stated that at points in the universe called ‘Irtrons’, matter (or energy) was constantly being created. But the first law of thermodynamics states the opposite: there is no ‘creation’ ongoing today. The Bible says, ‘Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them’ (Genesis 2:1 KJV). The word finished in the original Hebrew indicates an action completed in the past, never to occur again. The second law of thermodynamics says that in all physical processes, every ordered system over time tends to become more disordered. In other words, everything is running down and wearing out as energy is becoming less and less available for use. The psalmist wrote: ‘You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You will endure…they will all grow old like a garment…But You are the same, and Your years will have no end’ (Psalm 102:25-27 NKJV). The more scientists learn about life on earth, the more they discover the truth of what the Bible has clearly taught for centuries. And Job’s friend Elihu said, ‘Behold, God is great…He draws up drops of water, which distil as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man’ (Job 36:26-28 NKJV). The idea of a complete water cycle was not fully understood by science until the seventeenth century. Yet more than two thousand years prior to the discoveries of brilliant minds like Pierre Perrault, Edme Mariotte, Edmond Halley, and others, the Bible clearly explained the water cycle. The truth is, your Bible is inspired, inerrant, reliable, and more up-to-date than tomorrow morning’s newspaper. Every newspaper has a correction column acknowledging its printed errors. To say that true science and the Bible are contradictory is simply not so. If there’s even one chance in a million that God, heaven, and hell are true, wouldn’t you want to know? After all, one day you’re going to die. What then? And furthermore, since our children and grandchildren are increasingly exposed to secular teaching, don’t you want to be able to answer their questions when they come home from school or college, and steer them in the right direction? Well, guess what? Science proves the Bible true! For the next few days let’s talk about it: 1) The Bible tells us the earth floats in space. There was a time when people believed it sat on a large animal or giant. Seriously! But fifteen hundred years before Christ, the patriarch Job said, ‘He…hangeth the earth upon nothing’ (Job 26:7 KJV). Think about that: you can’t even hang your hat on nothing! When hear about the baptism of the Holyspirit alot of questions arise in my mind and am always quite troubles because i truly want to be a partaker.
Firstly, whats the criteria of been baptized by the Holyghost.
Secondly, can you have the holyspirit and not be giftes with the speaking of tongues. Am quite sure ive given my life to christ. Though sometimes i doubt myself and even pray for a sign that am truly saved.

Here are the qualities of the 120 that received Holy ghost baptism in the upper room of Acts 2: they were disciples of Christ, they had been with Christ. They were also in one accord. No disunity. They had been praying and waiting for ten days. So the criteria are: a life of victory over sin, unity and peace with man and prayers of consecration. Otherwise you will join those that repeat gibberish and go back to a life of sin and immorality. When the disciples were baptized, they spoke in languages which native speakers could understand, not gibberish. I have heard an Igbo praying in fluent Yoruba and I know of a white lady who spoke Ibibio. Read Acts 2 and sincerely ask God for that type of experience. It may require you making restitution/apologies to those you offended. You may need to spend some time in earnest prayer seeking the experience. My experience: I had asked God to forgive my sins and God did just that. I had/have the joy of salvation. I spent time asking God to so thoroughly clean me so that I would be a worthy vessel for His Spirit to dwell in and I felt His cleansing power. I noticed that I wasn't committing the sins I used to commit. I asked Him to baptise me with the Holy Spirit and heaven opened. I can't describe it because I felt like going to heaven that day. I spoke a definite language but no one was around to interpret it for me, but it was definitely different from the gibberish I had spoken before confessing and forsaking my sins I hope this helps |

Honestly, no one has all the answers.You'd have to find the little details out through continuous and dedicated research on graduate schools in the U.S(this thread and the visa thread would suffice). But on a general note, my advice would be:
1) Don't even let the voluminous materials overwhelm you loo, you'd be needing just a few. I'd suggest you study these for ur GRE (in no particular order)
*The ETS official guide to the GRE (I think there's a new edition out now,if you can get that, good for you!)
*ETS verbal and quant guides
*Manhattan 5lb
*Manhattan 8 series
*Kaplan is pretty good for strategies on tackling the verbal and AWA sections
*Download the ready4GRE app, magoosh vocab flash cards and the memrise apps
*visit vocabulary.com too (Vocabs may be a little overrated though,but u'll have to learn 1000 words at least to build confidence)
*Miscellaneous materials like RC 99 and NOVA math bible would suffice.
2) For schools that waive TOEFL, I'm only sure about Tennessee tech and Cleveland state uni cos I know people that studied there and didn't write TOEFL. You'll have to find this out yourself, it's explicitly stated on some schools' website, you'll have to contact the admission office/grad advisor to find out about others'.
3) Lol... Best time would be when you start hitting 340/340 consistently on your practice tests.

Status! Honestly, I understand where you're coming from, it's just natural to feel so.
Story! story!! story!!!. I have a brother who started making real money at a very young age, he built a very beautiful house at home while still a bachelor, became a landlord at Aba few years later, had numerous properties within and outside Aba,all thanks to his booming shoe business. Life was really good, everybody was happy.
Fastforward to earlier part of this century, the shoe biz became bastardized, the "ogas" who couldn't compromise like the "apprentices" did were virtually fighting to remain afloat. To crown the mayhem, mysterious fire engulfed his shop, razed every damn thing therein.
Man must wack! After mourning his loss, Big bros threw status into the thrashcan, started travelling to Edo State to buy pineapples,snails, Ogbono seeds and what have you.
On his return, he displayed them on the ground in front of his shop, carried bell and started "sales evangelism'. Luck continued to frown at him, the last trip nearly cost his life via a fatal accident.
Man no die, man no rotten! Upon healing, he rented out his residential house, relocated his family down home, started life on a fresh note. Enrolled into biz apprenticeship at his fifties, I mean as full-time salesboy ( or rather salesman). After the tenure, he sold some of his landed properties to start the biz.
Today, his "status" is more than ten times what he was before the shake. Had he dwelt in fool's paradise, maybe, after selling his properties to attend to daily needs, he'll sell me in addition to maintain status quo, just maybe.
It's up to you to choose what gets to you. Remember, success has so many relatives, and failure, an orphan.
My Senior friend once told me " money made from carrying feaces, does not carry the ordour of feaces".
Like Karin rightly said, the distance between your dreams/ plans and reality is action. Stop fantasizing, pull up your sleeves and get down to work.
I'd say, DROP EGO, get down from the high horse, face your fears, you wouldn't know the quantity of water in a coconut until you break it. Nobody takes "status" to the bank.
