mustybrown: my dad hav serve that company 4 over 13 years and not even single dime was given to him as pay off. So shot upAre you sure? I have family there and they have all been paid. I hope your dad is not being economical with the truth so that you don't make unreasonable demands |
nagoma: You can be a consultant to show them the way to Italy, where your women go to sell puny.BH defender and e-warrior, how are you? You folks have been scarce on this thread. I thought you folks justified early marriage to save the girls from selling their bodies. How come 5000 out of 8000 are divorced? How come they are looking for men who can buy them at the rate of 4 women per man and even such services are unavailable? |
It seems some people are allergic to good news! They must look for something to gripe about! When I saw this thread, I was glad that for once in a long while, something good is reported about us. This thread confirms what I had read on Readers Digest that Nigerians are ten times richer than they were a few years ago. Looks like the Nigerians themselves prefer the famished, diseased look CNN was painting them to the team of private-jet owners that accompanied GEJ to a Kenyan tour recently. I am a rational optimist. I have benefited personally: the road to my hometown has been tarred by JUlius Berger, I have used the remodelled airports in Lagos, PH, Benin, Owerri and Abuja. I dropped the idea of the NGO I wanted to form because my target beneficiaries were already enjoying what I was proposing from the govt. Jobless youth? Fewer than when I graduated! Many are creating jobs and employing others. Food and transport aren't cheaper, but more people have the purchasing power. Things are looking up! It can only get better! |
bukatyne: This development is funny and not funny.. Why should Islamic bodies in the south be the one to educate them. Why should NGOs be the ones to spearhead this. They have a Governor. Those that went to help in schools and hospitals are killed. Corps members are killed. Their elite fling it in our faces that the Muslim woman is very happy with her lot and doesn't need any help. Why should others drink Panadol for another person. They ain't seen nothing yet. Let the north continue on its self annihilation course |
adamooye5: No fewer than 8,000 women on Thursday matched to the Zamfara Hisbah Commission, seeking the state government’s assistance to enable them to get married.5,380 divorcees out of 8,000 women? What is the meaning of this? Forgive my ignorance, Muslims, but why this high rate of divorce? I can understand the thousands who are widowed by BH but this divorce rate is staggering. Looks like marrying and divorcing is a hobby there |
The secrets of a Muslim woman will remain a secret. Is thaba1234 a man or a woman? Pls don't be angry because I can't really tell. I would like to know if s/he has the moral right to be posting this because who feels it knows it |
byvan: Most married women I knew in school didn't graduate too, some took marriage as an excuse to fail and fail they did. Some are weak, some are strong,i still know married women that graduated.Only Op can tell how strong she is.Your post is deceptively simple. There is no woman that can tell in advance how strong she will be in pregnancy! For some, it is a matter of life and death. How can you be so hard on your fellow women that they used marriage as excuse for failure? Who enjoys failing? Who enjoys passing out with a horrible certificate? How will a primi gravida(first time Mom) whose episiotomy hasn't healed and who is still bleeding write a 3hour exam with others and pass in flying colours? That it worked out well for you doesn't mean that others were lazy, please. You just had easier pregnancies than some other women. |
You want to graduate with P(Pikin) H(Husband) D(Degree)? It can be very costly. My niece who did that is currently doing an extra year in the university. She made 2 babies and her CGPA is woeful! A lady that I know eventually graduated with a third class. And she was very intelligent. She's so ashamed of her result that it gives her inferiority complex. Her friends who married after their studies have it all too: husband, children, good career prospects because of their good result and respect from their in-laws who never saw them as uncompleted projects which their brothers invested money to complete. There is time for everything: a time to be carefree and a time to bear responsibility. Enjoy this stage of your life. If you must marry, can you agree to postpone child-bearing till you have written your final exams? Remember, the marriage can go anyhow but with your certificate, you can pick the pieces of your life together and feed your children. Don't joke with this stage. It can make or mar you. A man in love is a very different creature from a husband. Advice from a very concerned parent! |
She's married! So happy for her. I'm glad she found time for her private life Her husband is soooooo handsome! |
joseph1832: - Sheikh Yaser BirjasFinally! I now can understand Maclatunji and Deols! This is the most rational explanation for their spirited defense of the actions of fellow Muslims |
tjpoet: Allah says: And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed.) (7:57)You can see that this thread is about CHRISTIANITY and Science. Could you please stop derailing the thread. You can open another thread on Islam and Science |
ifeness: What about Noah's ark?The point the op is making is that we have not heard the last word. What you call lies in the Bible can, as knowledge increases, be proven to be true. Even carbon dating is not 100% error proof. And who said the remains of Noah's ark haven't been discovered! And did the Bible say that the earth is the only planet? Don't discuss what you know little about No true science has convincingly contradicted the Bible! Many great scientists and inventors were Christians! Use Google |
Christianity made easy 101! The Biblical ChriStainity for which people were killed is far different from this 1. The founder said the road is narrow and can't accommodate sin and FEW they be that find it 2. He said the followers must carry the cross and follow the humble path He walked 3. He said it takes more than a belief, a mental assent. That belief must show itself in actions 4. He says that anyone that commits sin is of the devil no matter what you believe, because even the devil believes and trembles 5. He said he that endures (not believes) to the end shall be saved Op I think you're trying to give Christians hope which is very good. I want to advise that you pick the Bible and read for yourself. Don't just the daily devotional prepared by one leader. Read the Bible because scripture interpretes scripture. It is still true that 1. The soul that sins shall die 2. God is still a consuming fire But 1. It's the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom because in His house are MANY mansions |
To the law and to the testimony! The Bible is eternal and complete. A Christian has a personal relationship with God and can depend on God for guidance. As many as are led by the Spirit of God(not a pastor) are the sons of God. A pastor can give advice, many times telling you to pray and know the mind of God yourself. The pastor will answer for himself the last day. And so will each of us |
chigoziec: God forgive me all my sins, especially sins of fornications and adultry is a general sin, married men acknowledged that it is the same pussy other girls are carrying,we singles should stay off married men because the beautiful ones are not yet born to avoid heartbreakFornication and adultery are general sins? This is a lie from the pit of hell. It's a ploy of the devil to deceive people by telling them everybody is doing it. Not everybody is doing it! In fact, you'll be surprised at the great number of people who honour God, respect their families and value their bodies too highly to engage in riSky behaviour. Btw, sin is SIN |
We live in hope. There is expectation and longing especially when we see the evils and insecurities around us. Then we yearn for His soon return to set up His righteous reign. We also live in fear, lest we fall short of the expectation of making heaven. We know that our Father is not an indulgent father: He is both the embodiment of love and a consuming fire. He is of purer eyes than to behold sin. Those pastors who're telling you to fear God's judgement are doing you a favour. You can't warn people enough. There must be holiness within and without |
yusufogrin: let me break it down in a simple way. .Must you judge? People have preferences and persuasions so why all these name-calling? Some of us, a significant majority as you can see from the responses, hate chains/necklace on a man irrespective of whether it's worn by a politician, a pastor or a trader. It cheapens the wearer. I don't see men wearing chains/beads in a corporate environment. Those that wear it look gaudy to me |
coogar: pregnancy is not illness. This your comment is so puerile and aggravating! As if those pregnant women, for whom the pregnancy is a matter of life and death, chose to be sick and nauseous. Go and check the infant and maternal mortality rate where she is and compare with your own country. She can afford to do this because there's a medical support team that can handle any emergency her foolishness can cause. |
adeokunade: Dear NL, please I need your response on this question, does wearing necklace or a chain makes a man look or perceived to be irresponsible?Yes. In the same way as speaking bad grammar will make any person appear an illiterate! Now edit both the topic and your question to "does wearing a necklace or a chain MAKE a man ........" Do so now that the topic has hit fp |
. fashrola: Toothpaste can be applied to Boil under armpits or Bum Bum, works effectively. I have tried this and it softens the boil fast. Macleans toothpaste is the only one that works well with it |
Stegomiah: Obviously, he is dead, if not he should have come out to dispatch the Nigerian millitary's death claim about him. I wish i could share your optimism but this so depressing. Lagos is building skyscrapers in eko Atlantic project. Enugu's celebrating international flights and an aviation college and the north east is counting corpses. Even when the war is over, rebuilding takes time and money. I knew the civilian jtf was risking their lives and that of others but do you fold your hands and allow animals terrorize and destroy you? Let this bloodletting end soon! |
haibe: 1). Thanks for replying but Jesus said "that where i am, there ye may be also"(John 14:3), so doesn't that mean we willl be where Jesus is? And i know Jesus is in Heaven(God's abode). Where Jesus is, it's heaven there. Paul talks of third heaven so there are realms of heaven. There is paradise whose torture equivalent is hell. I wish us all the first resurrection! |
JMAN05: the rich man and lazarus is a parable not literal.bible scholars generally agree that this is not a parable but a real thing. In other parables names are not mentioned. But the man in paradise has a name. You are right in the second issue. No one will resurrect earlier than the first resurrection. The wages of sin is death. Death is not the sleep which people do now which we erroneously call death. Death is eternal separation from Jesus |
Poor girl! Looks like they singled her for mockery! Pageant was held in a shopping complex! Chai! To win a paltry $2,200! The motive is also wrong. It smacks of inferiority complex. People should be comfortable in their own skin, not find relevance or validity in others who don't even care that you exist |
haibe: To be sincered with you op i have found the eschatological events a bit confusing, i know there is a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness, so i don't understand the idea of going to heaven, anyone can enlighten me please, also i know the bible talks about the lake of fire and hell as a place of suffering but i have not perfectly established the difference and who would be in hell and lake of fire, someone who has the undertanding can enlighten me.I don't know it all because we know in part and understand in part. But see if this will help you 1. when the righteous die, they go to paradise : think of Lazarus who is on Abraham's bosom; the thief on the cross whom Jesus promised that today, you will be with me in paradise. We generally call all the place where the righteous go HEAVEN. But even Paul talks of being caught up in the third heaven so there are layers and realms. On the first resurrection, their souls are brought out from this already beautiful place, reunited with their bodies and after the marriage supper of the Lamb, brought back to reign with Christ for a thousand years. At the expiration of the thousand years, there is the Great white throne judgement after which new heaven and new earth is created in which the righteous will live eternally. 2. when the unrighteous die, they go to hell: think of the rich man. There is torture but even that is not all. They don't resurrect until the white throne judgement when hell will release the souls in it. Then all the unrighteous living and dead people will be thrown into the Lake of fire which is the second death |
pof600: Sadly, there's no hell & heaven. Your little god in the sky doesn't exist either. People with low IQ are more likely to be religious than people with high IQ. Now this is not a coincidence is it?People with far higher IQ than you believed what you now believe but experience has taught them better and they have eaten their words I will be waiting as this unique experience happens to you too! |
Sagamite: It appears you will be sitting at the gates of heaven for another billion years waiting for the world to end and judgement day.The heaven described in the Bible is cheap at any price! Even if I have to wait for a billion years to get in there, it will be more than worth the wait |
Uclloyd28: What will one have 2 do to make heaven please? Going by what I've been told, majority of people won't make heaven and if that's the case, why did Christ shed his blood for our sins then. I really need answers pleaseYou're right. Many people will not accept God's offer but don't be discouraged for Jesus said there are many mansions. The steps as outlined in the Bible are very simple 1. accept you are a sinner 2. Confess those sins to God with a determination not to go back to them again. That means you promise God on your knees that you will not do those evil deeds again 3. Receive God's offer of mercy offered in jesus name. Don't think your sins are so many or so hideous that God cannot forgive you 4. As you pray with a broken and repentant heart, God will lift the condemnation you feel and replace it with peace and joy. You will know that you have been forgiven because you will literally hate to do anything that will hurt God. If you were a chain smoker, the smell of cigarette will be nauseous to you. Try it! You can kneel by your bedside this night and pray the prayer of the publican: God be merciful to me, a sinner! God will forgive you and you will know it |
pof600: I'm sorry to inform you heaven doesn't exist. That is the true reality. Anything else is not true. You stand better chance of living a very happy life than a miserable deluded person if you manage to reject religion. Heaven & hell doesn't exist. You are wrong dear. Even your conscience tells you that man is more than a physical being. And who told you that my faith makes me miserable? Go and read as much as you can on research. Those who have faith in God have been found to be happier, more focused people with better quality relationships and support networks. They also cope better with life's frustrations and are not prone to suicide. And to add to this is the hope of a paradise to go after here! Talk of bumper return on investment! Can't think of anything better! |
SwTonia: Talking abt death i lost ma sister yastadayJust yesterday? So sorry about your loss, my dear! May God console you and your family. I just whispered a prayer on your behalf |
