Panter215: Is 55m not still much. 55m poor people is like saying everybody in Ghana are poor. The whole of people living in Togo, Benin, Niger plus Chad are poor. My people wake up.Will you help us wake them up? They say more than half of them live in NE and NW. And I think so. Even though the richest African, Dangote, is from the North, their apathy to Western education is not helping matters. Can you imagine if 100,000 had just a tiny fraction of what Dangote alone controls. Those two regions spoil all Nigeria's stats on education, health, wealth and security Will you persuade them to accept Western education? This is not just about getting education to secure salary jobs, but to improve on their health, agric practices etc. |
500GP: OF COURSE INNOSON VEHICLES IS PARTIALLY SEEN IN SOUTH LEASTInformation Sir! I have seen an Innoson Bus at Maryland, Lagos Not to make you change your mind, but just so you know I learnt they are not meeting up with demand. They also export to Ghana Don't buy them! That is even if you got the money |
aflyingbird: op, good post. one of d reasons my ex cheated on me was cuz i didn't want to have pre-marital sex. his other reason... he didn't like my quiet personality. he confessed all these himself. i told him my beliefs right from when we started dating n told he he didn't hv to stay with me if he was looking for a relationship with sex n said he was cool with it n would wait till marriage. i told him i'm a quiet person too. instead of him to break up with me n let me go jeje, he chose to cheat continuously for a year. he was a good actor cuz i had nooo idea. there i was thinking he was sooo patient, sweet, faithtful n honestPlease let me help correct this impression. Adults do what they choose to do. It is unhealthy for you to feel that you are responsible for your ex's decision to cheat on you: every adult decides what he wants to do with his life. You know why he wants to come back to you? Because he has realized that you are a gem. You have principles. You have strength of character! The girls who will follow Sweetlemon's advice are there: 2 for N20! But a principled and beautiful young woman is rare to find. Please stick to what you believe in and at the right time, the person who shares your value system will come into your life and it will all be worth it |
Sweetlemon: Mr Salt1 you need a full collection of Macmillan primary school reader (book1-6)ASAP.Sweetlemon, can you buy those readers for me? Oh No, you shouldn't because I am a block head who needs deliverance and may not even understand what I am reading if you bought me the collection. Thanks so much and God bless you. Now back to your IMMORAL post. I may be very daft, but this is what I understand from your post 1. You are above 30, desperately single, desperately seeking and desperately willing to mingle 2. You are answering back those who have been telling you that if you had closed your legs a little and lowered your skirts, you would have landed yourself a husband And your answer is basically this: from my experience with all the men who didn't think I was a marriage material, I have learnt that the man who will love to marry you will marry you! It doesn't matter if you have slept with 5 or 50 men, if you have HIV/STDS, if you have the reputation of a slut, if you have committed multiple abortions etc. In fact, the "badder" you are as a girl, the better your chances of landing yourself a "good" husband! After all, Kim Kardasian etc all married "good" husbands! Why didn't you add Maheeda? Is she not a role model and didn't she get a rich husband? I mean, wouldn't your brother have been proud bringing her home to introduce to your Mom as her future DIL? The entire post, which ridicules decent girls who are keeping themselves chaste, and promotes immorality, is seen as a fact! I can only smh at you and the promiscuous men who liked your post. Continue to promote immorality! Continue to laugh at purity! That one million flies eat shit doesn't mean that shit should be eaten. I wish you luck I stand for decency! And purity! And yes I am married and I have very meaningful and fulfilling relationship with my spouse. |
To add more things 1. Ebonyi has limestone. Currently limestone is being mined (actually exploited) at Amasiri, Akpoha and other such places 2. The coup plotter, Dimka, was arrested at Afikpo 3. Their patterns of migration are strange: Ehugbo people travel a lot to Yorubaland. Some even answer Yoruba names. Amasiri people go to Cameroon (they claim Sam E'too has an Amasiri father and Cameroonian mother) and even marry many Cameroonian women, while Ohaozara people come to Lagos 4. Afikpo is a culturally "rich" area. They don't easily adapt to change |
onyaigo: don't worry my dear..let me not look for you when I get to heaven biko...I hope you didn't misunderstand me. It is Sweetmelon who is the OP that I was addressing, not you. Your post is diametrically opposed to hers actually buttressing my position on no sex before marriage. So sorry if you thought I was addressing you. I was inviting the op to read your experience and your advice that sex should be avoided till marriage. Thanks for wishing me heaven, tho... I am aspiring to go there |
vanndubi: The only relationship is that Ebonyi south (Afikpo zone) and Abia north were both in old Imo state and they both greet "Jökwa". Although they share common boundary, I think their culture and dialect are wide apart. You are wrong, dear. They are very culturally related. Afikpo, Edda, Nkporo, Item, Ohafia and Abiriba share a very complex set of relationships called Ikwu. Unlike other Igbos, they are matrilineal and the bonds span all these towns that I mentioned. An Amasiri person may not marry her Ikwu who is from Item. There are also several similarities in language: Jokwa and ka a. They also share several festivals like mbe and ikpo. I am from Amasiri and I studied our people's history and language Some people say Ebonyians are lazy. When you compare with the Anambra and Abia Igbos, this is painfully true. Our people are so laid back and not as enterprising. Truth doesn't hurt. Afikpo side isn't as enterprising and Abakaliki people are too crude. TRUTH! |
Sweetmelon, when i was thinking of how to respond to this your horribly ungodly post, i saw this from a thread on NL May God forgive you for calling evil good and good evil. Looks like all you and your fellow admirers like is how to trivialize sex. The most important sex organ is the brain. Read what you wrote on the first page to your daughter when she's 18. I stand with the person I quoted below onyaigo: Anyway...for me sha oooo....it happened when I was a teen,i took in immediately i got disvirgined.....it wasn't funny then....going to school,,,the stigma,,the gossip,,,,breaking my family's heart,,,emotional,,,psychological,,,mental trauma(na die)....thank God I never did an abortion(i for done die of heart attack)....today am a better,,stronger,,prettier,,,classier lady......its been from one blessing to another since then(i can't fit shout).........I have learnt that love ain't sex,,relationship is for the matured in mind,,parents know your kids in and out, make them your best friend.....my advice is,,,no Sex before marriage(u r entitled to ur opinion so don't give me dat look)..,,love is not a feeling but a choice u make,,,,if it is easy getting the right partner we all would have been married by now so chill and be the best you can be(your own dey road)......brb. |
cbrass: I saw it in the news too |
Today, the Arewa Youth Development Foundation (AYDF) led hundreds of youths to the palace of the Emir of Kano on a protest calling for the immediate dissolution of Nigeria. The protesters believed to be students drawn from tertiary institutions in Kano first paid a courtesy visit to the emir before commencing their one hour protest in front of the palace. They carried placards bearing inscriptions such as "Hold your petro dollars. Let everyone go his direction" "Southerners are not welcome here in the North" "Nigeria belongs to all of us not militants" "We say No to Northern identification in Southern Nigeria" "Southerners are militants, kidnappers/ritualists, armed robbers, drug pushers, terrorists, sons/daughters are products of baby factory". The group further advised non Northerners residing in any part of the northern Nigeria to relocate to their various regions of origin within two weeks to make room for accommodating their "Northern brothers" who would be returning home. Don't ask me for pictures! I was warned not to go near! |
blaise26abj: This is a reasonable line of thought. If the Govt or the contractor is slow, call the attention of the governor to it. OP made it seem like a major bridge collapsed. There is no way any makeshift wooden bridge wont collapse with that kind of flow unless it is a RC bridge or suspended steel bridge and the OP showed a pix of one being constructed right beside the temporary bridge.I struggle to understand you! The bridge had collapsed before killing 35 or so people. The Op sees it collapse again and raises an alarm and you say it's not major. How many people should be killed first before a good 'temporary' solution is discovered, pending the completion of the mega project? |
Nike Lake Resort Enugu is a beautiful place to go. They even offer discounted rates for honeymooners. There is a natural lake, quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle of Enugu and clean facilities My family has spent wonderful times there |
cne010: Fools so if they used the waec result to enter the university they should take by the certificate cost they used the resul, they should also remember to quit their jobs coz they used the same waec result.Don;t call them that yet. They have what you may never get: a clear conscience and peace with God That is LIFE! |
Restitution is scriptural. It is evidence of salvation. Old things are passed away and new life begins at salvation but God expects us to straighten things up to give us conscience void of offence towards God and towards man. God requires the past to be righted as MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE. There are certain confessions that must be made, forgiveness sought and relationship mended as we become born-again. I can't wear stolen shirt and preach to the person I stole from that I am now born again. I will return the shirt with apologies and explanation of the change in my life. To those asking about meat from soup pot, grown ups apologise to their moms for thefts and lies. Whatever will be a cog on your conscience is righted here: sins are exposed beforehand rather than let them follow you to judgement It is a high standard, but the Maker of heaven never promised an easy road to eternal bliss. You either pay the full price or ......... Few they be that will make it I say bravo to the fifteen who can now sleep with a clear conscience |
Stop Dissing Jesus yo!! ![]() or else, your eye go shine when Jesus go just show for your crib like play.. https://media.tumblr.com/0201d60b6ee88086b0d55c4d299108dc/tumblr_inline_micvw5lkNv1qe7mne.gif
Good advice even tho offered in jest! One day the entire godless and irreverent humans will stand SPEECHLESS before the God they denied His existence and mocked. @topic, the Bible is the final word of prophecy. I believe everything written there and I owe no one apologies for it. Soon this earth will experience cataclysmic events 1. The sudden disappearance of very godly people 2. A one-world govt headed by the anti-christ 3. Defeat of anti-christ and one thousand years' reign of Christ 4. Another attempt by the devil to usurp power 5. White throne judgement Better be on the side of truth. And right The mockery is a sign that we're right. Not a popular way cos a million flies will feed on shit |
How many nurses do they have in that health-challenged state to be sacking 400? This is unfortunate especially for the women and children who are often the ones in dire need of health care |
Help please! One wrinkled chicken I bought from op for N250 has escaped to a nearby church shouting "I shall not die, but live to declare the glory of the Lord!" Has anyone found it? A handsome reward of a gizzard awaits any person with info on its whereabouts. |
Truth be told, the men do look younger with the weaves. The change is dramatic. As for it's being right or wrong, that's for them to decide |
bellong: When it comes to Textile, I give it to the Turkish than the Americans. I would rather buy clothing materials made in Turkey than buy from the USA.You're right. The American wedding gowns are not just fanciful. Almost too basic and subdued. China made has various grades. Costlier never means prettier. I've seen gowns designed by Kosibah(hope that's the spelling) that cost up to N1m and yet were plain ugly or ill-fitting on the bride |
We're not a bad lot at all! See the number of us actually waiting to hear this good news! I've refreshed this page several times Op our thoughts are with you. It is already well |
Havila bridals at Ikeja and Benkol bridals are good but somewhat pricy shops. Benkol has tiaras too. But if you don't mind the stress, go to Azikiwe street, Marina. There are many wedding shops. You will buy the wedding gown at half the price, but it may be Turkey not American. Please don't blame the shops that insist you pay before trying. Wedding gowns are delicate. If sweaty people keep trying and taking off, the dress will look old and no bride-to-be would like to buy it I wish you a happy married life |
Exponental: Dont mind those holy-hath-thou people dat claim to be pastors. Wen d consequences of their asking start coming out, theY start apologising.I hope you won't be angry with my correcting you. Please take it in good faith. It is actually "holier-than-thou", not what you wrote there |
I love this! Those who have sworn not to laugh can go and gripe and quarrel in the politics section. We need jokes like this to remain sane. Now compare this Dog: humans give me love, food and shelter. They must be my god Cat: humans give me love, food and shelter. I must be their god. |
Poor snake! An endangered species |
The Depression Killer Exercise Today lets look at some of the physical causes of depression and what you can do to counteract them. These are not so much primary causes, but they can help get you into depression or lift you out of it. One thing is breath. Your brain and your body work best with lots of oxygen. However, when you work in a cubicle and don't get much exercise, it is easy to get less oxygen into your cells over time. This can cause you to feel despondent. So one thing you should be doing if you are curing your depression is to exercise regularly. 30 minutes a day of some kind of aerobic exercise. Walking, biking, treadmill. Not only will this help you feel more vitality, it will oxygenate your system. This can buffer you against depressive episodes in a short amount of time. Another thing is posture. Sitting slumped in a cubicle all day long derails your natural vitality. Slumped shoulders and hanging head contribute to feeling low. So notice how you hold your body, sitting or standing. Get in the habit of sitting more straight. When standing, throw your shoulders back some. It really does help. Regular exercise will help with posture as well. Your body is a finely tuned machine. Take good care of it and it will help you ward off heavy, depressive feelings. |
Curing depression naturally Now we are going to look at the Good News About Depression, including a 24 hour "cure" you can start today. The first bit of good news about depression is that it is a learning experience. The pain of depression motivates us to learn and grow. You're taking this mini-course is a way that you are going to learn and increase your emotional intelligence. In the long term, you will be stronger from having had to deal with depression. The second bit of good news is that Feelings Have Causes. I know this is not groundbreaking information, but you need to consider it. If you walk into your home and the music or tv is too loud, you likely get irritated. The irritation, that feeling, is caused by the outer circumstance of the noise. Too much noise equals irritation. Turn the music down, the irritation goes away. This is an obvious example. Okay, so it follows that depressive feelings have causes. Depression has emotional, spiritual, physical, mental and circumstancial causes. Today, we are going to look at physical or biochemical causes of depression that you can begin to heal today! Here is some powerful emotional intelligence for you. A lot of very powerful feelings are caused by your biochemistry. The firings of your synapses, the balance of your blood sugar, what you eat, etc. For this lesson, we'll focus on what you eat. It is high emotional intelligence to understand that many of your moods and emotions are caused by what you eat. You can test this out for yourself. Eat four or five doughnuts for breakfast and then tell me how you feel in an hour. No coffee, no stimulants with the doughnuts. Just eat the doughnuts. You'll likely experience the "sugar blues" within an hour. You'll feel tired, sleepy, listless, apathetic. Just from eating doughnuts. For example, you can have very dark mood swings that are caused by sugar. The first time I experienced depression I was 21 years old. I was having some very dark mood swings "for no apparent reason." I was in school, my life was good, but I felt awful at times. Black. Life seemed bleak and burdensome. I couldn't figure it out. A doctor told me I probably had low blood sugar, and had me stop eating refined white sugar. In 3 days, I was a completely new man! I had more energy and vitality. I felt much better about my life, and I stopped having dark, black, ugly mood swings from the second day on. Wow! Who knew that sugar was a culprit behind my depression? I had no idea that food causes emotions. When you eat sugar, it causes a spike in your blood sugar levels. Your body secretes insulin to lower your blood sugar. Too much insulin over too much time causes various bouts of low blood sugar in all of us. Low blood sugar often = dark mood swings. Now, sugar isn't the only cause of depression, there are many others, but it is a great place everyone should start. There are estimates that about a third of all depression cases can be healed by simple dietary changes. Junk in junk out can apply to depression. So, now you know a real depression secret. And you can test this out for yourself. Get off sugar for just five days. No sodas, no doughnuts, no cake, nothing with sugar in it. And see for yourself how you start to feel. Notice an emotional and energy shift. That there may just cure your depression all by itself. And it will likely help, in any event, reducing if not eliminating the frequency and intensity of mood swings. So can you do it? Depressing just to think about giving up sweets, isn't it? Well, you can still use sweeteners, just not sugar. Go to your local health food store and get natural sugars, like xylitol. stevia and fruit juice sweetened stuff. There's a lot more to biochemical causes and cures for depression, but this is a good start. You really CAN often cure yourself of depression. |
Let me share what I got from Treating Depression Naturally I hope it helps somebody Top 3 signs of depression Look, there are lots of lists of depression symptoms that can be interpreted in different ways. Here is the standard list Dark mood swings. Insomnia. Loss of appetite. Too much sleep. Loss of energy or fatigue. Lack of enjoyment of things you used to enjoy. Feeling despair or despondency. Feelings of meaninglessness emptiness. Suicidal thoughts. Let's discuss the top three symptoms, in my view: 1. Dark mood swings. This includes feeling hopeless, despondent, meaningless and empty. For me, it meant everything just seemed bleak in my life. I didn't feel that way all the time, but I felt it strongly at various times of the day, usually when I was alone or by myself before and after work. Work distracted me from depression, for the most part. Being alone seemed to generally heighten my sensitivity to negative feelings. If you have dark mood swings that occur once or more per day, and that last for 7 days or more, you are depressed, in my view. Dark mood swings can be vicious! Your whole world can start to look dark and threatening or unpleasant and burdensome. 2. Lack of energy/fatigue. Another major symptom of depression is low energy. It's hard to get out of bed. You may just want to nap a lot. You often just don't feel like doing anything, so you end up sitting around a lot doing nothing, which can be depressing in itself. If you have felt a loss of energy and a growing fatigue for more than a week, you are likely depressed (unless related to an illness like the flu, of course). Feeling like your energy is sapping away is VERY depressing. This depression symptom also includes feeling joyless or not getting pleasure from things that used to give you pleasure. It's almost like joy takes energy, and you just don't got much. Ugly, isn't it? 3. Suicidal thought and feelings. Remember those dark mood swings mentioned above? Well, when you're in one for long enough (which can just be ten minutes!), you can start to think suicide would be better than feeling this ugly and bad for much longer. Suicidal thoughts are clearly a top depression symptom. And let's be very clear. If you are having suicidal thoughts, and feeling sometimes like maybe you should end it all, you are depressed, and it is the disease of depression that is causing those thoughts and feelings, its not you! |
Marriage is a journey, not a destination. Sometimes bumpy, sometimes smooth. Sometimes pleasurable and sometimes downright aggravating! Love is a tiny fraction in the composition because sometimes you fall out of love, rally and fall in love again with the same person. It is a commitment. A test of maturity. Btw, I'm married and even though it's not "lived happily ever after", I am so glad to be married |
I think it's a cultural thing. No intention of annoying Yoruba folks but they value seniority and the titles that go with it. In fact, aunties and uncles are even identified, not by their names, but more annoyingly by towns of residence. Instead of Aunty Tolu, you hear her addressed as Mommy Ota (where she lives). Daddy Port Harcourt. But they swear it's a form of respect and we let it be. In some other cultures, a son will call his dad by his name and SURNAME as a sign of endearment during a conversation. This is notable among the Anambra Igbos where a son can call his dad " I know that you, Nnamdi Okeke will never stoop so low". And the dad will smile his approval Obviously this Femi must have vehemently disliked his tradition or been punished for erring that he swore to do it differently with his kids. Don't just try that aunty stuff with a Calabar woman! She will hate you for thinking she is that old! |
Fynestboi: Lagos — Eight students of Ajangbadi High School in Iba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Lagos went into coma after the railing of the two-storey building in the school collapsed. This Adeyeri's language is annoying. Only eight students! How many should they have been? Only one in critical condition! So they should have all died first before it's considered serious? Why do our people not value life? Why make such an insensitive comment? I am a parent and I can't imagine how it will be a consolation to me that only eight students were affected |
Looks like instead of watching the eclipse outside, we're all here on NL watching it. Is it an e-eclipse? |
