Christianity EtcRe: Kumuyi Offers To Resign Over Son's Wedding Controversy by salt1: 7:10pm On Jul 07, 2013
I am writing this for those Christians who are desirious of making heaven and are willing to pay the price. What Kumuyi is teaching and preaching is not man-made tradition. Other holiness ministries like Apostolic Faith and Charismatic Renewal are also vocal in this regard
. Can a Christian dress anyhow and still please God? No! Rom 12:1 and 2Cor 7:1 tells of the body. If going to heaven was that easy, the Lord won't say they are few that find that narrow way and straight gate. I have never heard of anyone turned back from the gate of heaven because he was too holy in his dressing but I have heard and seen those who Would have gone to hell over worldy dressing. What's at stake here is eternity. You can choose to believe what you like

God will not lower His standard for anybody's sake. God is of purer eyes than to behold sin and anything worldy in dress, attitude and conduct makes the person an enemy of God.Of course the inner man must be saved, sanctified and baptised with the Holy Ghost. When the inside is right, the outside will naturally line up to live a God-glorifying, heaven-focussed life

PoliticsShehu Borno Blames Insurgency On Marginalization by salt1(op): 8:23am On Jun 25, 2013
By NDAHI MARAMA
MAIDUGURI — The Shehu of Borno and Chairman of Borno State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Alhaji Abubakar El-Kanemi, has blamed the security challenges occasioned by activities of Boko Haram Islamist sect in the state on alleged marginalisation by Federal Government.
El-Kanemi said that Federal Government had marginalised the state for so long in terms of appointments at the federal level and provision of social amenities.
He spoke, yesterday, when he received members of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North, led by Alhaji Kabiru Turaki, Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, in his palace in Maiduguri.
He said: “It is unfortunate that Borno State has so many federal institutions such as the University of Maiduguri, Lake Chad Research Institute, Chad Basin Development Authority and College of Forestry in Baga town, among others, but none of the institutions is headed by an indigenous person.
“I, therefore, want to use this opportunity through this powerful committee to inform the Federal Government that we in Borno, our sons and daughters, who are intellectuals and professionals, are marginalised by the Federal Government.”
The Shehu also lamented that Borno State, being a centre for Islamic knowledge, had experienced massive influx of Almajiris from different parts of the country in the name of acquiring Islamic knowledge.
He added that most of them were not properly registered or properly guided, which, according to him, had aggravated to the security challenges.
According to him, in recent past, between 10 and 20 trailers full of Almajiris “entered into Maiduguri on a daily basis to acquire Islamic knowledge.”
“Most of them do not have where to go to or specific Islamic scholar to stay with or either registered or documented which is unfortunate and will no longer be tolerated.”

What do you think?
Christianity EtcRe: The Dangers Of Wilful Sins by salt1: 6:05am On Jun 24, 2013
Blink and co, no unrighteous person will inherit eternal life. No person sleeps on Delilah's laps and wakes up in Abraham's bosom merely because he acknowledged Jesus. That teaching that once you believe on the Lord you can never be desaved is from the pit of hell so that people can continue with their ungodly lifestyle.
I'm done with trying to reason with you. Don't blame your pastor if you follow wrong teachings and land in hell: YOU CHOSE TO BELIEVE A MAN'S INTERPRETATION instead of what the Bible and your conscience tells you.
I wish you a genuine repentance where old things will pass away and all things will become new.
Bye!
Christianity EtcRe: The Dangers Of Wilful Sins by salt1: 7:59pm On Jun 23, 2013
On sin: Gal 5: 19
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication .......of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things (whether Bible-believing or bible-doubting) shall not inherit the kingdom of God. God has the same yardstick for the whole human race: let him that nameth the name of the Lord depart from evil.
Rev 21: 27: and there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie

On eternal security
Ezekiel 18: 24: But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness and committeth iniquity......all his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned

Blink and co, ask God for the grace to teach and live by His word. If the Christian way was just as simple as give a mental assent to Jesus and go right back to your sins, Jesus won't have told us that the way is narrow and the gate is straight. Paul and others wouldn't have accepted death to defend such a faith.

God is of purer eyes than to behold sin. You need to understand the purpose of heaven. The earth we are living in is defiled by sin and God has purposed to destroy this earth. He is creating a new heaven and earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. One drop of sin will defile that holy place. God doesn't send people to hell, but heaven's gate is so programmed that the sinner cannot even approach it because it is holiness and righteousness. Instead of creating new beings who will inhabit that new heaven and new earth, it pleased God to offer opportunities to humans who will acknowledge their sins, renounce and FORSAKE them , believe on Jesus' righteousness and receive POWER (John 1:12) to live above sin and to continue to live a godly life till the end of the person's life. It will cost you something and heaven isn't cheap.
Belief alone isn't enough. Even Satan believes and trembles

lacasa: GEJ Has Ties to Terrorism

Shikenan!
Welcome back Lacasa. I've not seen you for sometime and I feared for you with this SOE.
Glad to know you've not shifted your position.
Just a few questions
1. How does the President of Nigeria shaking hands with a Lebanese delegation make him a supporter of terrorism?
2. Are you aware that Hezbollah has two wings: the political party and the terrorist group? I know this illustration may not be apt, but it reminds one that BH may be the military arm of ........
3. If the FG sponsored BH, why did the entire North not rise up in condemnation of BH but docilely watched and explained away their activities? Why are they now condemning FG's attempt to restore law and order in the region? Why did the North support amnesty for these criminals who are, according to you, on FG payroll?

I don't hold brief for GEJ but your conspiracy theory just doesn't add up. I can imagine him supporting Niger Delta boys blowing up pipelines to get more resource allocation but I don't know what he stands to gain by destroying the North. I am not very intelligent so I would like to learn from my superiors, so don't resort to insults.

I wish Jesus or the Bible said something this wonderful....Or the Moslems themselves follow these words. It is indeed sad that the so-called religious people (Africans, Asians and Arabs) are the world greatest racists; and the world most nonreligious nations (US, UK, Europe, etc) have long seem the pains and ruins of racism and tribalism and kicked against it. I will live by these message despite been a core-Day-Star member...I wish others could as well.
Just to add that the countries you mentioned as nonreligious nations had their cultures formed and moulded by the Christian faith. They were ruled by the Bible for well over 1900 years. Their rejection of the Bible is just an offshoot of the last century's theories of evolution which raised fundamental questions on their belief system. But even that cannot wipe of several centuries of culture.

No intention of derailing the thread. Just to address his concern.
Good sermon! How much better if practised by followers!

This is a negation of all that Kumuyi ever struggled for. As I said before, if the wedding was done outside Deeper Life and Papa Kumuyi went as a parent to support his son, all well and good. Rossikk: Do you know we are still a top cocoa exporter? Yet go in the shops. Can you see any made in Nigeria chocolate? Any made in Nigeria cocoa butter cream/cosmetics etc? Nope. We export the raw cocoa (maybe in cocoa pyramids too) to Britain and US. They convert it into chocolate, cocoa butter etc, then export back to us at exorbitant prices. We then pose that we're enjoying by chopping imported chocolate. I mean, when does this nonsense stop?
It's not nonsense dear. It's what makes us a global village. No single country produces things from start to finish. Even Japanese cars have million components sourced from the entire globe. We can't be self-sufficient

Who says the old days were good? With the illiteracy and diseases? How many graduates would want to do this back-breaking labour to earn money from peanuts?
For agriculture to be attractive in Nigeria, it must invent itself beyond the present subsistence level. We can't go back to the groundnut pyramids, the cocoa farms and the oil palm trade. Nigeria and the world have gone beyond that. We can't store them in this crude way. We have also gone beyond that.
By the way, exporters are making a kill exporting PKS(pal kernel shell which is used for generating biofuel), cassava etc.
The world is moving forward. We must move too because we can't live in the past

That Bayelsa route is becoming a death trap. Not because of bad roads but because of reckless drivers. FamilyRe: Should A Husband Forgive An Adulterous Wife? by salt1: 11:16pm On May 28, 2013
This is my understanding of the Christian perspective on this topic
1. Marriage is designed to be monogamous
2. Adultery is a grievous sin. It carries the same weight whether done by a man or a woman. It violates the sanctity and exclusiveness of the relationship
3. Divorce is permitted on the grounds of adultery but you can't marry another. The marital bond is only severed at the death of one spouse. So those who're screaming to divorce should know that you caNnot marry again after divorcing. So a better option is to make up
4. Marriage is not to be entered lightly. Great thought would've taken place.

Nobody enters marriage hoping to be adulterous so pray Lead us not into temptation
FamilyRe: Should A Husband Forgive An Adulterous Wife? by salt1: 4:46pm On May 28, 2013
plaetton: F..$$##@ng bullcrap.
Reserve that for your brother when it happens to him.

Its ok and encouraging to forgive simple and common misdeeds.

A woman catching her husband in the act is not one of those common misdeeds.
It is the very very worst of misdeeds. It is not an accident. It is a deliberate carefully planned and executed misdeed.
that is the point to am trying to get across to you people.
Pls tell in all honesty, if the woman through investigations, finds that the husband had been doing this for a very long time, would you still quote bible for her to forgive?
Secondly, if she also discovered that her husband has more than one lover, should she also forgive?
Thirdly, if she discovers that her husband had infected her with HIV/AIDS or herpes, or syphilis, should she also forgive him?
I would appreciate if you can answer these questions.

The sacred is breached. The dam is broken. It can't be repaired.

To forgive is not divine. Don't delude yourself with that crap.
It's either karma or hellfire (lol), depending on your religious beliefs.
I've edited this post to show our hypocrisy. Men want to live wayward lives yet expect utmost fidelity.

Whatsoever you would that men should do unto you, do so even unto others. That is the law and the prophets.

Who says once a cheat always a cheat? It is a lie from the pit of hell. People change at any given time and in varying circumstances.
Will I forgive a cheating spouse? Difficult as it is Yes and I can rebuild the relationship. How are you sure the next person you meet will not be worse that your present spouse? I've seen those that did it and their homes remained intact. In fact, the shame of being caught kept the woman on the sane track till old age
hey max-tit....lets keep this discussion civilized.

First of all, get your priorities right and step out of your shell-like existence and seething ignorance. I have NEVER tried to convince people that we are alone without God(s). I am not an atheist. I believe in higher powers/GODS. I am a PAGAN-TRADITIONALIST.

My fight is to destroy christianity/islam (for how they took advantage of my fellow Pagan tribal brothers and sisters' hospitality and instead of being thankful to us, they tried to destroy our beliefs, cultures, etc, by inciting others against us and our ancestors)

Also my fight is to save my country and from all the corruption, violence, etc., caused by christianity and islam respectively. all the tithing , boko haram, etc.

I want people to be rid of these barbaric, middle-eastern, cave-men like desert religions, and to re-embrace our true Spiritual Traditions of our forefathers, so we may all progress as a nation and put an end to religious war and strife that has torn apart our country like a dagger. Every tribe must follow his/her own GODS-given religion , be it Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, etc.

We must not worship man-made religions like islam and christianity. ALL Pagan religions have no man-founder.

I am trying to win more converts to traditional religion.
I have already succeeded a bit here on Nairaland. just need to work harder.

Yes it will be worth. If the dignity and integrity of our Nation and its tribes are restored, then HELL YES. ofcourse it is worth it!

I am not telling you to stop believing in God or start putting bullets through every ones head. All I ask of you is to drop the foreign way of praying to the GOD(s) and pray to them in your own unique way of your tribe. THATS ALL I ASK! wink

I am not Mr. KnowitALL. that is another Nairalander. My name is PAGAN 9JA.

Traditional Religion incorporates science into religion. In our beliefs, while the big-bang ,etc holds true , yet creation would never have taken place without the auspices of the Creator Force. its not that the Creator God, came down and molded everything with its hands. NO! However, the Creator God is the force that causes things to be created. It is a bit complicated. for more info, visit the Religous Section and ask me or else PM me.

Ill believe what I believe. I wouldnt mind letting your religion be practiced in peace. However you have converted ,many of my people through unfair means, and EVEN NOW, you preach in your churces against us. Until that doesnt stop and we get back our converts, then the war is on. However if you can gain converts through honest means, then it is understood.

Christianity does talk many things, but a the end of the day it causes all bad and wrong things to happen. there is something evil about this religion. it is the same story for past 2000 years.

why should I not open my brothers and sisters eyes, when they face dangers of negative-preaching by the like of you and your lot. NO! i cannot let my brothers and sisters slide down the drain. IT is my human duty to open their eyes.

It is not happening. stop dreaming. you need to stop inciting others against someone else, just because they share a different belief from yours.

umm...I am the ome spreading peace and truth, while YOU are the one spending time drinking , gambling and "doing babes".

So plz get your your priorities right and let us UPholders of Culture and Religious Integrity, do our job! cool
Pagan, is that picture really you?

Now you have just become my prayer topic. I think you are a searcher for truth. You sound really sincere in your pursuit. You won't be the first neither will you be the last. I wish you well in your search: that you will find the truth you're looking for. Please share the story with us when that happens.
But as for convincing me to go back to the idolatry, human sacrifice, twin-killing, ritual foods, anti-women practices etc which were part of my people's religion, with all due respect, sir, it is a CAPITAL NO!
