Try this and see if it will make some little sense: God forgives when you sincerely (He's omniscient, right?) beg Him to. The forgetting part means He never holds it against you again (like wiping your slate clean as if you never did those horrible things). Even if you did go back to sinning again, He doesn't roll back your previous record but condemns the present one you're doing. That's fair, don't you think?

God throwing people into hell? No! Actually people choose to go there. Again some little explanation: this earth is so messed up by humans that God who created it has decided to destroy it and create a new one. Instead of creating new beings to inhabit the new earth He is making, He decides to give folks on this earth a chance of migrating to that new one. The only clause is zero sin because that's what messed up the one He plans to destroy and if it's allowed in the new one, it will destroy that one too.
How can one have zero sin? Impossible so stop struggling. Once you acknowledge my Son as Boss, He gives you power to live right and will eventually be the one to introduce you to me on your arrival.

God isn't bribed by our praises to give us babies. That is not scriptural. We give God praise because it is right to do so and not because of what we hope to get from Him. It is attitudes like this that bring the Christian faith to ridicule: believe in Jesus and tomorrow, you will be a millionaire, all your enemies will be dead. No! Jesus is not a magic wand to get rich quick, get adorable babies and find a husband! He is Deity! He deserves worship.

For me to believe that you can do faith healing you must take "otapia pia" in my presence, handle a spitting cobra and if no harm comes to you, I will then believe you can heal the sick. Anything else is pure deceit.

I see that many people are confusing miracle with magic. God will never do magic to satisfy idle curiosity or to show approval of higher powers bestowed on any individual. When Satan asked Jesus to take a leap, he argued that after all God has given His angels charge but Jesus answered that you shouldn't tempt the Lord your God. If snakes are mistakenly stepped on, or something dangerous to health is mistakenly ingested, God can, in answer to the prayer of faith CHOOSE to spare the person's life. But to willfully endanger your life and expect that God should perform magic or as a show of great faith neither glorifies God nor edifies the church. That attitude is ungodly. It equates God to an idol that you can mumble some things and he begins to do magic. All powers belong to God and He won't share His glory with anybody else.

God heals today: when He sees that it will give him honour and encourage somebody's faith. The steps to receiving healing are laid out in James 5: 13 -15: first pray for yourself, next ask for the elders of the church(not a miracle-worker) who will anoint you with oil and pray over you and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick.
Does God still heal? Yes! I have been healed countless times in answer to prayer. So have members of my family. But I prayed to God myself and in a few cases, requested prayer from the elders as instructed.

The person who mentioned speaking in tongues, let me tell you that people are still receiving the genuine experience: speaking a language which a native speaker will understand and which was never previously learnt, neither is it gibberish.

If you want the real manifestation of God in your life, you will pay the prize: confess and forsake your sins and live a holy life. You won't need any miracle worker but your communication with God will make miracles normal everyday occurrences in your life

Just to help you a little: we Christians already know that Jesus was crucified for claiming to be the Son of God. Being the Son of God is an acknowledgement of His deity. It is still the great controversy till today. People will readily accept Him as a great teacher and a pure moral force, but refuse His deity and deny Him worship. But there is salvation in no other name and one day all knees shall bow to Him and all tongues shall confess that He is Lord!

It was touted as what Yaradua had used to neutralize the conflict in the Niger Delta and even though it angered Nigerians, the Fed govt still went ahead to set up the committee.

Are you saying the government should fold its hand and watch helplessly as BH keeps wasting lives and properties? Last week it was how many policemen.

How is this dialogue and peaceful means different from what the government has been doing for the last two years and yet the casualty rate keeps rising?

I don't support high bride price. Many times, it's not the girl's family that is putting the pressure but the husbands-to-be. They want to show off. They want to impress the girl's family. I attended a wine-carrying in Awka and instead of just buying the things on the list (chewing stick, snuff etc), the young man added so many things so that the MC announced that their daughter was marrying into a wealthy family.
I know of a town where the elders actually placed a fine if you bring more than the mandatory items on the list but the young men will go and pay the fine ahead of the traditional marriage date, just to show off to their friends that they have arrived. They like to boast of what they spent to get married.

The good side of it all is that Igbo marriages really last.

I came back last dec for my cousin's wedding, I had earlier booked Arik air from Lagos to Enugu for 7am, thinking that I was gonna make it out of Murtala Muhammed airport earlier. By the time my luggage came out( that reminds me,those thieves working at the airport really dealt with my luggage. they ripped one of them open, took all my......well lemme save this for anoday day)it was already 9am. I then decided to take the next available flight which was Aero. God, God, God, I thank God we made it to Enugu.
The plane was out of date, noisy and seats offer less space. While trying to relax myself when a steward, bumped my right shoulder without apology.For a moment, I actually thot I was in one of primark's factories in Bangladesh. The noise coming of this coffin(plane) was horrific. The plane was shaking like someone suffering from severe epilepsy, while simultaneously their staff standing around selling stuff, beer, rice, beans, gala and co.That was how I started praying, binding, casting, my heart was in my stomach till the plane touched down.Then there, right there, the touching down was anoda horrible xperience on its own. The plane landed on the tarmac, GBAM GBAM GBAM.......I was shouting Jesus, blood of Jesus, blood of God, I peeped thru the window, and said to myself, if worse comes to worst, I will just jump out thru the window and land on top of somebody's house.
I thank God we finally landed!Then on arrival, we had to stand in that scorching sun for anoda hr, before they brought our luggage in one rickety lorry.This was no doubt the most uncomfortable and dreadful plane journey I have ever experienced!Infact I don't wanna rem it again.

Meanwhile, on my way back to Lagos, I quietly joined my brother in his car.Yea, it was a long journey but at least I had my heart in its normal position till we got to Lagos.

Different strokes for different folks! Aero is the preferred airline for my family. They have over 50years experience of safe flying especially in the Lagos-Port Harcourt turbulent route. Booking flights with them is easy and cheap. Their customer service, by phone, is also easy to access. Their planes are a different model from Arik but they are not too old by aviation standards.
Travelling by road is getting easier with all the on-going repairs. Still patiently waiting for faster train services
