Now Sir, are you absolutely sure the Cbn doesn't print the naira equivalent to fund the fed's acct cause I'm wondering why he(Boyo) would make such a grave mistake which is pivotal to his suggestion.
I'm interested in your views cause the last thing I want, is to be backing a suggestion based on a faulty premise.

Rev King and Pastor TB Joshua are both Nigerians Their action both led to loss of human lives Rev King was immediately arrested and remanded in prison TB Joshua has failed to answer several court summons
I repeat, I don't have any say for justice neither am I worthy to stand in the presence of God due to my sins, but I will always say: what is good for the geese is good for the gander. Nobody should be treated higher than anybody in the face of the law. Look up terms like 'chain of event' under our criminal justice system, then decide when a loss of life is classified as murder, manslaughter(voluntary/involuntary) or simply a civil case if/when exonerated, TB Joshua was not even charged for a crime, if I'm correct, he failed to appear in front of an equiry right? The first step is to get him to appear, then if indicted, he'll be charged for an offence and then will the court pass a judgement, which he may still challenge..........bla bla bla......... |

MRBrownJ: what has that got to do with "doing the RIGHT thing, and abiding by work procedures?" the slave mentality is people like you who want to do something WRONG and are quick to try to blame others as racists etc.
well then, he asked his direct manager and the man refuse to give him the day off, and instead asked him to talk to the MD directly. there were 2 choices here: A) accept that the request for a day off was refused or B) talk to the MD. the foolish OP decided to take the day off while disregarding his manager's request... who does that?! if not a very disrespectful and insubordinate employee. yet here you all are talking about slavery mentality but the hard fact in this matter is that the OP made a grave error, and should subsequently pay for that. go cry a river all you want, and blame whoever you desire, but WRONG is WRONG
BWAAAAAAAH!!!! who forced you to stay in such miserable jobs?! the reason why such employers dont respect people like you is because YOU dont respect yourself. when someone tells you such nonsense (and obviously treats you like a modern slave) then it is YOUR duty to leave such disrespectful place of work. but the minute you decide to STAY in that job, is the minute YOU would have gladly accepted to become a slave (and i dont give a damn what your "excuse" is)
you either listen to your immediate manager or you dont and go take the matter with his superior, but lets be clear on something...the immediate manager's answer was: NO days off unless the OP asked the MD, how difficult is it for you to understand that?! in what language do you want me to write it for you to understand this very straight forward answer?
he DID, and the OP decided in lowering himself by begging instead of gladly accepting to never work for the people he regards as monsters.
here we see the true slave mentality: whether the man is Lebanese or not, whether he is in his country or not, WRONG is WRONG. do you believe that a Nigerian boss can therefore assault their Nigerian staff? i think not, and therefore bringing this man's nationality to this discussion is a joke! we can clearly understand that many people on this thread are deluded, and simply against the bosses because he is Lebanese. even if the boss is Nigerian, this employee MUST be dismissed! and even if the boss is Nigerian, they should be guilty of assault! here you all are talking about this man as if his nationality has ANYTHING to do with the subject of assault?! this is the real slave mentality here, the person who is quick to talk trash and point fingers at Indians/Arabs/Asians employers in Nigeria but yet are quick to accept jobs from these same employers. if you dont like the way these people treat black workers then DONT WORK FOR THEM, but if you do then i suggest you do your job according to the contract you signed, and subsequently STFU! but trying to bring their nationality "now" as if it has any relevance to the case of DISMISSAL and/or ASSAULT is today's biggest joke on NL!
regardless of their nationality the boss is guilty of assault while this employee should be dismissed, end of story! Dismissed for being assulted? In your own country, you can't assault a foreigner in London, even if you'll love to, stop thinking like 'that' man, emancipate yourself from mental slavery man. |

HungerBAD: This Story is very troubling.
Troubling in many facets. Although the Story itself is confusing with the beginning saying a DSS member fired the Weapon, but the bottom of the story now reverted to the shot being fired by a Soldier.
That said.
A shot was fired and in front of a visiting Diplomat, who coincidentally comes from a Country where an "Unofficial Fatwa" has been issued to all of the Country's top official, by the Taliban for the Mohammed Cartoon, even makes it suspicious.
How does pointing a gun face front and shooting makes it accidental? how do you even accidentally discharge a weapon? and it always amuses me when i hear people use that word "ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE" as an excuse for killing someone. Especially if that shooter is trained on how to handle weapons.
You don't "ACCIDENTLY" kill people, as every weapon needs the tip of the finger to pull the "TRIGGER".
This shooting is very suspicious, and the shooter had other motives for the shooting. Thank God the Diplomat was not killed, as the blame would have been pushed straight to Buhari by mischief makers, who would have called him a Muslim Fanatic that ordered the diplomat to be killed.
But even at that, this is very troubling. Although uncommon, an automatic firearm can indeed be accidentally discharged by a trained personnel, safety-on/safety-off position requires the trigger finger to be placed in different positions in and outside the trigger guard and all you need is someone who's terrible at their job to mess up standard procedure, its a fact that not every employee everywhere got employed due to proven competence, not least in Nigeria of all places(regrettably), and having said that, I'm not in anyway insisting there might not be a foulplay, just that part of your arguement I disagree with. |

kindredspirit: Insightful.
Question for you though : Help me, exactly what " manufactured goods " would Nigeria be exporting to " other countries "?
I'm scratching my head as I try to think of something we manufacture that we could put on those ships and export. Or did you mean Raw materials like Agric, Solid minerals ? What " other countries" ? China and India? Those countries simply add value to the our "products" and sell to us.
Manufacturing goods in Nigeria, with the challenge of power, infrastructure, high cost of doing business.... at some point, it became even cheaper for businesses to set up factories in neighboring countries to produce goods for our market. Also, it became somewhat cheaper for businessmen to import from China rather than produce in Nigeria.
For the life of me, I don't know how the government can fix the issue of Power in Nigeria. Obviously, our quest ( maybe dream) of becoming a country that manufactures for export is tied this. Do you honestly see the government taking care of this in the next five years or so? If you remember what happened with Local manufacturing of cement during OBJ administration, laws were made and enforced to make it profitable to manufacture cement locally, It's a standard measure in economic policies everywhere, let in the tide and every boat will sail, you dont scream murder just because you don't have a boat or yours is powered, on the other hand, when a government signal its intentions to let in the tide and everyone build/buy a boat if it then change its mind, that will leave a bad reputation and discourage future boat building, Dangote said years ago in an interview, that his investment in cement factories then could have bankrupted him if government reversed its policies then. Now is the time for us to support this government with its policies, it will take months or years for some of the dividends to materialize, it's better than being a dumping ground. |

Everybody wan go heaven but nobody wan die! It's a phase people, let's grow some balls and endure, first time in decades we have a patriotic leader with determination to go the extra mile but we'll rather harrass his team than support him, we just keep playing into the hands of leaches who built their empire and future on a unjust system designed to favour just a few. I get it, importation is tougher than it used to be, but ESSENTIAL items were favoured, those considered non-essential were advices to seek parallel market to secure dollar to pay for their import (they were not banned outrightly), sounds fair to me, a a nation like China will consider a van more suitable. The main issue now is the parallel market for foreign currency is unstable and almost twice the price of the official rate, which mean imported items will be too costly for consumers, guess what? Consumers should buy Innocen motor and other made in Nigeria products, if for any reasons, like me, they favour Puma and Nike, then they should pay the price, I have a right to enjoy a lifestyle of my choice, however, the future and progress of this nation is far more important. Luxury consumer goods are affected, foreign student school fees are not, this speak volumes. Let's focus out criticism of this administration on stuffs like the handling of the budget, which was mishandled, let's support a policy that will benefit out future. |
