COMPAQ: Well said, but easier said than done. Left to me a coup in Nigeria is not a bad idea. Nigeria can't get much worse with a coup than it currently is.
Honestly, I just wish I could press a reset button and start this damned country all over again
COMPAQ: The issue is how do we "get to it"? I always say Nigerias problems as big as they are can be fixed reasonably quickly with a leader with a clear vision and political will. Give me 20years and Nigeria will be far better than it is today.
But we are led by useless people and the system makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE for sensible people to assume leadership.
Take it back.... if it requires force, then so be it. We are already approaching failed state status, so I guess it wont even be all too bad. We cannot continue like this for crying out loud. My grandparents complained about Nigeria, my parents are currently complaining, will I have to complain about the same issues after all this time? In the span of 60 years, other countries like Indonesia, India, China, and even Ghana have left us in the dust, while we can't even rise above stupid tribal sentiments to make a country we will ALL benefit from.
Farki: Remember what happened in October with the protest? Where the youths offered solutions and organised regardless of religion, ethnicity or ideology? Well the government disrupted that with the help of many stupid wastes of space both online and offline. The police even released criminals to justify keeping their jobs.
Many didn't want to endure to fix a bigger problem, they were complaining because it didn't affect them yet. Nigerians only learn their lesson when they personally experience the pain.
In the end the solutions were not implemented and things are slowly heading back to the way it was before.
We all know the solutions but are we ready to act on it?
Watch this for more information as to why Nigeria is the way it is
Thats another problem with the black man... we too like "ready- made". We always want to run away to already developed climes instead of putting in the work to make our homes better. I have seen the stories of some Nigerians suffering in fucking Libya just so they can go to Italy, France, UK, etc. Shame no dey catch us? When will we fucking wake up? Or is it when the white men with their Asian buddies start packing us like sardine again that we'll finally see?
Rugaria: I don't make excuses, I give you facts.. it's a long story, otherwise I will break these things down.. I stand with what I said. The ethnic politics and massive corruption that ruined Nigeria started with these guys. Before them, there were tribal issues in government. There were corruption cases but it was always the issue of ten percent.. Now we are talking of budget padding and funding of fake local governments! We are talking of herdsmen maiming millions while a president speaks in tongues..The military guys saw Nigeria as personal fiefdom and did their best to control the nations politics by playing one group against the other. Solutions? There is no thread on Nigerias politics here that is not full of solutions! Nigerians are not different human beings! Put the right leadership in place and changes will occur.
Okay then. Then lets stop fucking around and get to it. These men are on their fucking last legs. After that, they're all gone. We can still make something out of this country if we are serious about it. India was a gigantic shithole not too long ago. Today, it has a bigger economy than that of its coloniser, and is expected to be a world power for years to come. Same with China. In fact China will probably take over the world at the rate they're going. If they played the blame game, would they be where they are? No!
Rugaria: The class of 1966 destroyed Nigeria.. The Babangidas, the danjumas, the Obasanjos, the buharis, the Abachas.... That group is evil, full of vile, hatred and violence! Take them out of the equation and watch Nigeria start a slow movement towards progress! The biggest mistake we made this democratic term was to start with these same hoodlums again! Compare Obasanjo vs Yaradua.., then Buhari vs Jonathan! You can see the difference in style, compassion and motives... That class of 1966 woke up one morning and started killing their friends for power. They have managed to corner power with the help of foreign powers ever since but they absolutely can't do no good with power! Why? You can't give what you don't have...
Why do we blacks love to sit back and play blame game without offering any fucking solution? If you know what the fucking problem is, act nigga! Heaven helps those who help themselves. I've seen people blame Lugard, blame Zik, blame Awo, blame everybody. But no solution. Why?!
RuudVanNisteroy: Why are you making Awo to be a saint like Tinubu. If your hands are dirty then don't go into politics.
All politicians of the 60s were dirty tho. But, at the very least, the difference btwn. now and then is that those politicians actually cared. I saw that post you created about Tafewa Balewa. Do you think he would allow the North to be where it is today? Do you think Azikiwe and Ojukwu would be happy with the state of alaigbo today? Do you think Awo would stand by and allow Yoruba youths to become agbero and yahoo boys due to lack of employment today? Of course not. We can still see the impact of each of those men's work in their respective regions to this day.
RuudVanNisteroy: Why do Nigerians find it hard taking personal accountability?Who begged the Western leaders to rig elections, kidnap electoral officers, employ thugs and engage in corruption shortly after independence.
Do you not understand that Wetie was caused by interference from the Northern led FG? Why did they put such claims on Awo in the first place? It was simply a ploy to take Awo out of the political scheme.
RuudVanNisteroy: Watch the video again and come back and comment.
Yes I have seen the video, but that does not take away what I said about minority agitations and Fulani desire to lord over everyone. I'm sure you know about the military action against the Tivs in the 1964 elections
RuudVanNisteroy: Awolowo was a saint like Tinubu. He never touched public funds, I have heard.
I'm not saying Awolowo was a god, but it was widely known that NPC especially did not like Awo b/c they deemed him too progressive and saw him as a threat to their feudal culture and plans for domination of the entire country
RuudVanNisteroy: Did you watch the video?Regional goverment was a disaster and anarchy reigned in the Western Region.
It was a disaster because there were minority agitations in the big 3 regions. The West gave in, but the North and East did not. In fact, Bello told Awolowo that the Middle Belt were his "slaves". We still see this domineering attitude in Fulanis to this day, which is why there is no sense of national identity after all these damned years
RuudVanNisteroy: I found in the documentary Awolowo was indicted for corruption and diverting funds from the Western Region to fund his party, The Action Congress, by the Coker Commission. And he was also indicted for sponsoring a coup to overthrow the Federal Government.
Unification with Niger wont be of any benefit to most Nigerians... The best thing for Nigeria to do is continue to strengthen ECOWAS. And btw, the countries in Africa that we should be interested in uniting are Senegal & Gambia, along with Ethiopia and Eritrea. Ethiopia and Eritrea especially should be prioritized, as I believe that doing so would create a potential East African regional power
I agree with you but religion and tribe will never take a back seat, I hear Nigerian politician saying shits like by the grace of God we will build hospital, i mean, come on!! Where are the funds meant to be for building the hospital?
Tribes and religion are the main things Nigerian leaders use during campaigns, most Nigerian vote for who ever belongs to their tribe or religious group, that is if the people's votes counts in Nigeria.
The division suggestions is just my opinion, it may not happen.
Division, as enticing as it sounds, wont happen for obvious reasons. Which is why In order to redeem this country, all Nigerians must embark on the 3R's: Remembrance: How did we get here? What major events led to where we find ourselves today? I would say those events are the Civil War, economic crisis of the 80s, June 12, and the rise of Boko Haram Reconciliation: Once we have identified the causes of our predicament, we need to sit down as a nation and chart a way forward. Do we want to remain as one? If we do, on what terms? I would recommend a National Reconciliation Conference, similar to what South Africa did after the end of apartheid. Reconstruction/Restructuring: This is the part of the process most Nigerians call restructuring. Once we have a laid down plan, the next step is to follow it to the letter, like China did in the 80s and 90s. We can see the rewards of their patience today, as they are primed to take over the world. Obviously, that is a little far- reaching for us Nigerians, but with the right plan in place, we can definitely dominate Africa, and truly become the Giant we are supposed to be. All in all, reversing the path we are going down wont be easy. But if we truly get it right, we can build a nation that we and our descendants will be proud of. Thank you and God Bless Nigeria
Flytime: shut up and stop blaming the uk Did they not colonize the usa? Where is the usa now? Where they not in china? Where is china now? Where they not in Canada? Where is canada now? Don't they have a role in Canada politics? Is canada not still good? Ask yourself this questions
Africa isn't the only country colonized but of course the rest moved forward but africa continues to blame them
India may not be a good example of what a country should be but the uk robbed them of trillions of dollars when India was the richest country in the world in the past but guess what?,they are not complaining..they have moved forward, the uk left them poor and miserable but they are not complaining about the uk
It's only africa that blame the colonizers for their problems meanwhile counties like ethiopia that never got colonized is still the way it is
Asia and south america has forgotten about colonization but africa won't forget it an dmovw forward
The in gave us the opportunity to redraw our amps according to ethnicity but you g Of course they voted against it so why are you blaming them?
In fact I think India is the best comparison to Nigeria, very similar diversity, same colonisers, and same North- South gap...
This, ladies and gentlemen is what the West is trying to paint as a failed state with no functioning government.
The country with the most network of light rail system in Africa.
OP, you and I both know that Nigeria is absolutely failing in certain areas. Most of these pictures are from the South. Can you or I go to Sambisa or even Sokoto w/o fear of being kidnapped or killed? We have to admit that the govt is not doing a good job in certain areas, and discuss how we can improve, else we'll become a global laughingstock
GMBuhari: You are saying because ESN is armed Nigeria is in trouble , if You don't get Igbo presidency you will start a war is that it??
i hope ESN got 1M members because no matter how hard you try ,you can't defeat Nigeria , the north and the southwest
you try rubbish you see rubbish , AND DID you just confirm that LiePodians are members of ESN ? well that's good because any recognized member of that group is already a terrorist , Nigerian Army will use them for target practice
Is it me or do these people show their cards too early ? You can't blackmail Nigeria , Yes i support restructuring but if Liepodians are part of ESN
They will be dissolved pretty quickly and if the worst gets to worse and they become real terror group , they will only attack their own terrian, just like Boko haram has continuously ravaged the north,
if you come to yoruba land to try nonsense trust me , you'll be in the middle of Yoruba + Hausa cooperation
As a yoruba man, I can confidently tell you that should war break out, no sane Yoruba is fighting for Nigeria again. So, it is either we restructure or we go our ways. Choose wisely
There's no need to trade blames at this point, all hands should be on deck to rescue the sinking ship.
Granted that mistakes have been made, Buhari could live to expectations. I wish patriotic Nigerians join hands to rescue the nation first before coming back to the ineptitude of this government.
Yes, it can. I suggest you read on Indonesia and India. To avoid becoming a failed state, all we really have to do is embrace federalism fully and devolve power to the federating units. India did this in the 90s, today they are the 6th largest economy in the world.
Rebelutionary: Personally, despite the prevailing challenges, I tend to take all this "predictions" with a pinch of salt! 2015 came and went and we still dey!! We will weather this!
Yea, but it will take a lot of work... we cannot afford to mess up 2023.
Why couldnt the registration for NIN be done online? Or better yet, why not give a CENSUS and generate NIN from there? I swear Nigerians just like to overdo everything
IGBOSON1: Nigeria ain’t gonna restructure anytime soon...certainly not a full restructuring that’ll give each region/state/ethnicity full control of their destiny and resources so they can develop at their own pace! And the major reasons this wouldn’t happen are: envy; covetousness; lack of self-belief; and putting eye in another region/state/ethnicity business instead of facing front!
Some know the capacity for others to leave them for dust, given half a chance and the right conditions, so they want the status-quo to remain so they can continue to use ‘one Nigeria’ to hold these groups down and continue leeching off their resources (human and material)!
Well soon we'll have no option to. In fact, I reckon that the process has already started in the SW and SE with the formation of Amotekun and ESN, respectively
Dijita: If Atiku is ever going to be president 2023 is going to be his best chance. If APC nominate Tinubu and PDP nominate Atiku which is most likely to be the case since most Nigerians are full of it. They will complain and complain. Their complaint never stop them from selling their vote for a bowl of porridge. Atiku will most likely select a SE VP and Tinubu will probably select a VP from the North. SE will vote for Atiku. Yes, if the raise is between Tinubu and Atiku; the SE will vote for Atiku. The SW will vote for Tinubu. Atiku is most likely going to win the North. Tinubu is going to face the challenge of selecting popular VP from the north. Almost all popular VP candidates from the North are Muslims. Buhari lackluster performance and a northern Christian VP is not going to help Tinubu in the North and a Muslim, Muslim ticket is going to depress his support in the SW and in most minority states in the South
Like Awolowo vs Shagari in 1979... history has a funny way of repeating itself in this part of the world
sterlingD: This right here captures it all.It is so sad.
They kept on refusing to do anything about it, and made them comfortable with all this bogus negotiation and rehabilitation. What did they think would happen eventually? When you have an illness, you don't ignore the symptoms and continue denying your sickness until it becomes fatal. You treat the illness right away and then begin your healing process. Thus, I advise the North to treat terrorism like the cancer it is: do everything in your power to remove it, and then begin the rebuilding process once you are done
Arewa needs to shut up.... the monsters THEY created are responsible for this. As for ESN, I would advise them to seek the approval of ESN, so that it has legal backing like Amotekun did
Perhaps they've seen that whatever foolish plans they had have completely backfired... unfortunately I don't see most Fulani getting the goodwill of the country back once Buhari leaves in 2023
Iegendhero: Yeah it’ll be hard for them to have that kind of foothold down south coz they can be easily distinguished from the natives.
The only way they can penetrate the south is if they do that colluding with the natives and the Southerners I know enjoy life over death especially we the SW’ner.
I should now go and blow myself because I want to convert people to Islam or establish a caliphate when my own mother herself is a Christian and my dad brother is a deacon? When my gf herself is a Christian and Baba Awolesi my dad close friend is an Ifa worshiper.
Walahi it’ll just be double wahala for Boko Haramu!
God forbid they ever come to SW, but if they somehow do, it will immediately become a tribal thing, just like what happened in Osogbo between the Fulanis and Yorubas
StaffofOrayan: Please spare a moment for the southerners that have not yet the left the north before 2023, Do they need a pastor/iman to tell them what's coming?
