just before you give me a call,if you have installed the same OS shipped with the laptop(as in you re-installed home premium with home premium)then its simple,turn your system upside down and you will find the original license key there.remember your home premium key wouldnt work with an ultimate OS,

deji,pls inform the general public correctly, you can only make a cd/dvd bootable using softwares like roxio,nero etc

obviously the partition table is bable is bad or bad sectors, do a low level format using DARIK'S BOOT AND NUKE software or ACTIVE KILLDISK to do the format
and for the badsectors repair, use this lovely tool HDD REGENERATOR(not the free version)

hello,here are some important checks u must make before attempting a hard disk recovery,
1, ensure the hard drive is not physically damaged, how?when you connect the hard drive to an external enclosure,if you here a clicking sound then the hard drive 'may' not be recoverable,
2, ensure the partition table is not damaged, if it is,use special tools like "FIND AND MOUNT" to mount the partition and temporarily transfer data out of the hard disk to another location, NEVER MAKETHE SOURCE HARD DISK THE TARGET HARD DISK.IE THE HARD DISK MUST BE RECOVERED TO ANOTHER SYSTEM TO SAVE THE FILES(why?when u delete data from ur hard dirve,its location is not completely erased but cant only be accessed until the data has been overwritten, that is why data can be recovered! only wen u use a FILE SHREDDER can data be totally deleted
3, ensure that the hard drive is not having bad sectors, when a hard drive has bad sectors,data becomes difficult to be read/written from that particular location and eventually resulting in a freeze,bluescreen, ex when ur boot files are stored in a bad sector,the system hangs on startup because it cant reference that location, use special tools like HDAT,HDD REGENERATOR(MOSTLY IN DOS MODE for me,i do it in linux mode so i can violate every microsoft rights/security and have full priviledge to the hard drive,
4, lastly,use the most reliable/efficient recovery tools ACTIVE RECOVERY,STELLAR PHOENIX, mind you,anything free doesnt work efficiently,these are all commercial softwares,

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. At the Computer Management click on Disk Management and at the right hand side you will see all your Hard Disk volumes displayed. Then right click on the driver D and select Change Driver Letter and Paths for System Reserved and follow instructions through to add drive letter and highlight format and click to format. After formatting it will display your drives D among the others for you to see. Do the same thing to I. Then close the Computer Management. "

Abeg helepe me oh any body.i trued copying some file from an external hard drive.na since then my trouble start!!a message wiith WINDOWS EXPLORER HAS STOPPED WORKING,WINDOWSIS RESTARTING is displayed.the desktop then freezes,restarts and then it begins all over again.i've done system restore,scanned the system,regedit,diskchk,disabled third party servces,scan disk,updated windows EVERYTHING.BUt still no changes.Any techqies in the house that can help.PLEASE!!!!

ur system has become infected with likely a trojan(not virus)only trojan r capable of propagating itself maliciously>>moreso,it wld be difficult to heal a system completely from inside the infected sytem(its like a thief dats already resident in the house and watchful of the police trying to capture him)best solution:reformat the sytem completely with a clean installation cd (not even the recovery partition,chances are ,the recovery may have been infected too)
or
2, remove ur hard drive and insert it into an external harddrive enclosure and scan from "a clean system" with a "strong antivirus or just remove ur files and scan only ur files and perform a clean format, wen ur done>>u can now transfer back ur files only wen u can verify its been disinfected,
if ur unsure,pls just re-format else u will compromise the whole system again
