@Beaf Very few Nigerian leaders are able to command the love and respect of the masses as Buhari does especially in the Northern part of the country. ANY Nigerian leader can be found at fault when put under a microscope therefore i do not find much fault in his persona. Am yet to see any Nigerian leader that didn't chop while in office. If you dig deeper you will always find dirt on somebody. The reason why Buhari's own doesn't disturb Nigerians that much is that he's generally a low profile & humble person. I have had the privilege of meeting him when he came to my state for a wedding. He doesn't own BIG mansions in Maitama, Asokoro, V.I, Ikoyi etc. Neither is he extravagant in his affairs (spending lavishly on clothes, foreign trips, cars). Compared to his other contemporaries, Buhari is poor. Yes, i said it poor. I wish somebody will go to Yola, Adamawa State & see how many industries & houses Atiku owns. Not to talk of his & Obj investments in so many Nigerian companies either directly or through proxies. Enough said, but Buhari is a better man any day, any time. @OP Congratulations & Happy Birthday to a Well Deserved Gentleman (General Muhammadu Buhari Rtd.) May Almighty God continue to protect and guide you sir. Amen. |

lynxnoon:Yes, they still are. I regularly go to their office in Kaduna when i am in town. I am trying to get their Manager to include Fileserve and Megaupload in their reseller service. malone5923:I also like Digimon but the one i watched was the one on Nicklelodeon where they transformed into 2 types. There where like 5 kids taken from the real world blba bla. I can't remember the rest but it was tight. |
luffyhaki:Lol, ![]() puskin:hehehe, no mind me. A rapidshare account is a must for any serious downloader. It has definitely killed torrents for me. It's just N1400/150GB per month. That's why downloading from their dedicated servers is extremely fast. Make i hug pillow abeg. |
eehhhh !!! So, where is glo's own ? ![]() Why do these guy's always want to come last when rolling out a product especially if you have it first ? Infact, can anybody point us to a link where somebody has signed up on the glo-1 cable ? If you check Main-one's website you can see a list of their clients but am yet to see or hear about glo-1. |

Has anyone seen the new MTN advert of their Tele-presence service (powered by Cisco) ? You can see MTN is already rushing ahead to make use of the Main-One cable while Glo are still twiddling their thumbs. I can't wait for MTN to finish UNN's wireless network with fibre-optic backbone. |
At least, they are trying. U should see some of the ISP's websites in Nigeria. You would think a 100 level computer science student wrote it while high on garri ![]() |
It is good for consumers that Etisalat has acquired a 3G license. Everyone here agrees that Etisalat has the best EDGE network currently in Nigeria. However, rolling out an EDGE network and a 3.5G network are very different. 3.5G networks are capital intensive and require that some infrastructure be put into place namely a fibre-optic backbone. MTN currently is in the lead with about 10 cities with 3G network coverage. I do PRAY however that Etisalat continues with their innovations and customer geared service. We all know that foreign firms come into the Nigerian market and get infected very soon with the "nigerian virus" thereby offering customers poor services and generally not caring. |
God in his infinite wisdom ![]() What do you expect of an Art professor in Qatar ?? When hunger & poverty are killing us here in Africa how do you expect the common black man to be "creative" ? You cannot be creative when you are feeling hungry or have no money to feed your family or pay the utility bills. That is why our greatest and best minds flee the country and become innovators and captains of industry around the world. I am sure this Professor would not dare try this if he were at a Nigerian university. Chei ! |
Airtel-Ng is making a step in the right direction by reducing their call rates and Blackberry Internet Service. What they are doing is nothing new but just adjusting to their competitors (Etisalat & Glo). What Airtel needs to do next is also to reduce the price of their data plans and increase their 3G network coverage. Airtel has a lot of subscribers just that they migrated to other networks because of their lack luster performance over the years. They should be taking intiatives and not responding to the competition.

![]() @puskin, My brother, its not only the location but the base station that's in your coverage area. Where i stay in Abuja, there's not much traffic in voice or data therefore i suck up most of the bandwidth. I also get full signals. Also, i use a HSPA modem with a Qualcomm chipset. Its way better than all those Huawei or ZTE modems.
|
@ugo_2u Since you reside within Lagos, i would advise you to get MTN Fastlink. The modem is N8,500 and the 24Hrs, 30 day plan is N8000 with 5GB data limit. However, do confirm that you get 3G signals in your area before you buy. @everybody Hey Guys, Have you heard the good news. Etisalat just bought Alheri Engineering which includes a 3G license. Rumours however are flying about that Etisalat plans to launch a 4G network (which is unlikely in my opinion). Things are looking up in Naija. We now have 2 Submarine cables, a new 3G/4G operator and a new rebranded competitor.

xtremeidea:@xtremeidea puskin is merely voicing out what others have been saying for a long time. The moderators on the computer section have not been doing enough to ban and sanction the spammers on the section. Threads are created on the wrong section, spammers advertising their fake products and getting away with it etc. @ OP Honestly, i can't say that there has been any outstanding poster for this year on the computer section. @ cupid4ig Congrats dude ![]() I checked Slot's website and saw the phone going for N85000. I just recently received mine from the US but its white which makes it stand out more. Cost of the phone including shipping to Nigeria was total N76,000. I just sent the money to a friend in the US who bought and shipped it to me here in Nigeria. |
Hi Guys ,Just thought i should share this with you guys The 3 fastest connections i have personally tested for playing online on Xbox live or PSN are 1. MTN 3.5G 2. Glo 3G+ 3. Swift Networks MTN and Glo are mobile networks with coverage across most of the country. However, there 3G service is limited to mostly major cities like Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Benin, Port Hacourt, Kano etc Even within those states, there is no full 3G service coverage so check your area first before subscribing. Swift Networks as far as i can tell is based mostly in Lagos and provides Wifi services with blazing fast speeds i.e if you are within coverage. Both MTN and Swift Networks are now live on the Main One cable giving users low latency and steady connections. Glo also has their own submarine cable called glo-1. If you are subscribing to either Glo or MTN, i advice you to get the N7500 (6GB)24hrs or N8000(5GB) 24hrs plans respectively. As with most mobile networks across the world, they have a bandwidth cap hence no unlimited plan. Swift Networks however does not have any bandwidth limit but services are on a burstable bandwidth basis at different connection ratios. A different price list exists for Dedicated Bandwidth and Enterprise Class Services. I will recommend the SWIFT Business & Family(24hrs) N19,500. Now, i don't know about you but i have like 4 computers, psp and other gadgets that have internet connectivity. Friends also come over with their pc's, blackberries etc. Therefore, i bought a Linksys Router WRT54GL v1.2. It has 4 Ethernet ports with 802.11b/g wireless. I have a desktop which i use as my server. I connect my Alfa Fly 3.75G USB modem to the desktop, connect to the MTN/Glo network and using ICS (internet connection sharing) bridge my desktops lan interface with the modem interface. I now connect a normal ethernet cable from the desktops lan port to the WAN port on my Linksys router and voila ! You can now broadcast your internet over wifi or through the 4 ethernet ports available on the router. Also, NAT & UPnP are automatically setup. You can then use wifi or lan from the router to connect your PS3 or Xbox360. Sorry, i have to go now but will continue the remaining tutorial 2moro. Thanks and hope this helps. |

Hi Guys, ![]() Was checking around the glo website and came across their internet packages. Men, they have a good combination to suit most users out there. Now, if just only they get their act together and roll out 3G+ network across more states and more coverage in existing ones, MTN is dead. Just imagine these packages on MTN network.
