netotse:Hi Netotse, Which network are you using ? What kind of modem do you have ? Whats your connection speed ? Does your network support Evdo Rev. A ? I have found out that the key to getting good speeds depends on you tweak your settings a little bit and you will achieve great results. |

Chairman !!! ![]() Everybody is an ethical hacker in Nigeria as long as you dont get caught. Do you know how many languages there are in nigeria ? O.k, let's say you have a complete dictionary in Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. What if the sys admin is an ijaw man or nupe lady and they incorporated parts of their language into the system ? What can you do ? Every network is special and its up to you to do your homework and find its weakpoints. As they say, there are many ways to kill a rat. Try Social engineering. ![]() |
Guy. why do you want to hack somebody's wireless networks ? Dem chop your money ? Dat being said, i have a 10GB wordlist dictionary that can permutate and bruteforce wpa keys. Add that with a fast cpu and lots of ram, you are in business. For the rest, google is your friend. |
And what has that got to do with the price of garri in the market ? ![]() Did he invent the technology ? We have plenty high speed cables in Africa (check out WASC-SAT3, Main-one, Glo-1, SEACOM) etc. What have they done for the common man ? NEPA alone is enough to kill his dream unless he can find a way to generate and sustain power in the country. |

Hello Sagamite ,I could use some help and advice from you. I have a B.sc in Business Administration with a Second Class Lower Division (2:2). I want to do my M.sc in either Information Technology, Management Information System, Advanced Computer Systems or Computer Science. Since i dont have a first degree in computer science, i have dedicated myself to acquiring I.T knowledge by undergoing trainings and certifications at globally recognised instituitions like NIIT and APTECH. I am an Oracle 10g Certified DBA (OCP), a Mikrotik Certified Network Administrator (MTCNA) and am about to write the Computer Professionals Examinations 1 (CPE1) of the Computer Professionals Of Nigeria (CPN). The CPN is the equivalent of the British Computer Society (BCS). What do you think are my chances and what universities do you recommend ? I have a scholarship so funding is not an issue. Thank you and God bless. |
Whenever somebody tells me there is no job in nigeria i feel sad because it is not that the jobs are not there, its that it goes to a select few individuals with tight connections. Mind you, people with connections are not necessarily 3rd Class or 2:2 graduates. Its just that there are more deserving individuals with mouths to feed than somebody who can afford 3 square meals and a ride. Go to any of the top ministries or companies and you will see it happening. Getting a job now in Abuja must be accompanied by a note from a high ranking govt official. It sounds preposterous but sadly i have seen it a number of times. Some ministries do not even advertise for vacancies e.g Min of Foreign Affairs. The jobs are there plenty plenty but the elites want their children and grandchildren to continue ruling us. Few people get jobs on merit and usually its not a high profile job. God help us. |

Has anybody been short-listed or contacted yet ? Any info on how to take the exams will be appreciated. |
baybbootz:@baybbootz, let's just say, to the "average" nigerian girl MONEY TALKS. You see it everyday at school, campuses and workplaces. Therefore, how can i cry for such a girl If you are rich, every girl wants to be your baby mama. So, what do you say baybbootz, have a baby by me and be a millionaire. |
texazzpete:@texazzpete You are right on the money. I love the Mac OSX software but the hardware and price certainly deserve the critiscisms. Apple (like all business out to make a buck) will never give you a total solution to your needs ergo the bland GPU's, SD slots and HDMI output. Price is also a critical factor in the equation. I will gladly pay any amount for a product if i am satisfied of its quality and fulfills my needs. Just check out the line up 13-inch: 2.26GHz 13-inch: 2.53GHz 15-inch: 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Intel Core 2 Duo Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB Memory 4GB Memory 4GB Memory 160GB hard drive1 250GB hard drive1 250GB hard drive1 SD card slot SD card slot SD card slot Built-in 7-hour battery2 Built-in 7-hour battery2 Built-in 7-hour battery2 NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics $1,199.00 $1,499.00 $1,699.00 15-inch: 2.66GHz 15-inch: 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB Memory 4GB Memory 250GB hard drive1 500GB hard drive1 SD card slot SD card slot Built-in 7-hour battery2 Built-in 7-hour battery2 NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB $1,999.00 $2,299.00 17-inch: 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB Memory 500GB hard drive1 ExpressCard/34 slot Built-in 8-hour battery2 NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB $2,499.00 Source: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro?aid=AIC-WWW-NAUS-K2-BUYNOW-MACBOOKPRO-INDEX&cp=BUYNOW-MACBOOKPRO-INDEX Now, compare these prices with what you are getting in return. Do they match. The lowest is $1199. Go to Ebay and see what kind of system you will get with that kind of money. To me the Mac is becoming elitist in nature and is not geared towards the average consumer. Thats why its rare to see them here in Nigeria. |
texazzpete:@tex Haba now, why you dey fall him hand now ?? ![]() |
The Girl that will make me cry has not been born yet. She will also definately not be a Nigerian. |
Let me start by sending out my heartfelt condolonces to the families of the murdered people. As human beings, nobody will want to wish such a violent death to his enemy. Even Saddam Hussein was hanged in a humane manner and he was a well known murderer of his people. Having said that, let's settle down to the meat of the issue. I have always said and will continue to say that Nigeria is the most lawless country in Africa. The Nigerian Police and Army are nothing more than common thugs and murderers in uniform. Any standard which the Nigerian Army claims to have is a blatant lie and an insult to our intelligences. Mind you, i am talking about the common soldier and not the Officer Cadre. Combine that with the bloodlust, barbarism and blatant stupidity of the black man and you have Zaki Biam, Odi, Jos, Boko Haram etc. How many students have MOPOL killed in student protests at universities ? How many drivers have Federal Highway Patrol extorted money from ?? How many danfo drivers have been killed (shot like fowls) over common N20 bribe A typical policeman cannot write a simple application for leave talkless of expressing himself in a gathering. Its only in Nigeria that a serving Attorney-General of the Federation and Min Of Justice is murdered and nothing dey happen. I can assure you that its only in Nigeria that you can shoot somebody in broad daylight in Ibadan and go to Abuja or even Lagos and act as nothing has happened. Have you ever seen a wanted poster in nigeria ? As long as the nigerian army, police continues to recruit the morally bankrupt individuals of our society, NEVER trust any nigerian uniformed personnel. |
One thing which everybody i know agrees on is that Kaspersky is very good at dealing and detecting viruses. Though it can sometimes delete files it cannot recover but hey as long as you are virus free its a small price to pay. Mcafee on the other hand, i have no idea about. Also, this is news to me that kaspersky is a resourse hog. I though KIS 2010 was a very good revamp of the program. Most systems have 2GB of RAM or more and have Core 2 Duo processors therefore i dont see it as much of a problem. |
Baba Lynx, pele o !! Dis una speeds go change very soon. For all MTN users, my source informs me that MTN is having an upgrade and regular maintenace on the network. Also, their fibre optic network was vandalised as usual in 3 places which forces them to use redundant backups. When they will sort it out only God knows. This will affect especially GPRS and EDGE users on the network. Just cross ur fingers and pray they get better soon. Me, i don buy Etisalat sim, we will see how it goes. |
It seems boys have been very busy. No mind me, i go my hometown where its only MTN and Etisalat that have EDGE networks. MTN is so bad and unstable i had to buy an Etisalat data sim just to survive. Will be posting screenshots soon. But note, its EDGE. |
But if virus nab ur system nko ?? What's its virus, trojan and malware detection and cleaning rate ![]() |
I am sorry to say this but a 1st class in Nigeria is not worth the paper its written upon. Everybody knows that its your background and family connections that get you places. However, there are a few people blessed enough to forge ahead in life without this handicapp. Therefore, whether you have a 1st class from Unilag, ABU, UNN, UI or anywhere, if you dont have the brains to back it up or know the right people to open the doors for you, you are out of luck. Let me give you a typical scenario, you are a brilliant , hardworking person from a humble family. You bust your ass off reading through school while a lazy, rich man's son bribes his way through the school (the lecturers are already hungry with ASUU strike). At the end of the day, you both graduate with a 1st class. Who deserves it more Again, you graduate and start looking for jobs, holding your credentials and posting several CV's on the internet while rich man pikin already has a job waiting for him. I knew a guy who studied Hausa Language at ABU Zaria and graduated with a 3rd class degree. Trust connections now, he;s now working with BBC Hausa in London. I heard he just started doing his M.sc there. His mates who had 1st class and 2:1 are still marching on the road looking for how to survive. The Nigerian University system has decayed in such a way that i really dont trust people who have 1st class or even some people with 2:1. I take it with a big pinch of salt. Its when the chips are down and you have to defend your degree, thats when you know whether a person is 1st class material or not. God Help Us. |
