seun pls use lyngsat to get sats but here are some you can get wit yur 2:4 m dish , thiacom, apstar , abs1,intelssat 7;10, intel 902; 906 paksat arabsat w4 w6 rascom , w2a w3a sirius 4 intelsat 10-02 atlantic bird 3 nss 7 nss 12 nilesat just to mention a few. All these are yours if u have 3-in-1 lnb setup

if u are motorized blindscan nss 12cband for football action whenever match is on

@sholasong, u can use internet dish, but u must get the focal length right.
note that most internet dishes are off-set . once the focal lenght is correct, the dish will throw up signal

@olason, this box must be a wonder, i hope the programmes on it are not preloaded- no dish, no antenna? pls furnish us the price, so we can add it to our fta setup. thanks

pfolo, crtv is ok on 12600v3250, since you had tampered with your dish use multitv 12551v19512 to track and then input crtv freq. am very sure it will turn green.

dvb-s reciever can be likened to our old vcd player and dvb-s2 as the dvd player. you know dvd player can play dvd, vcd and cd but vcd player can only play cd and vcd and not dvd. so dvb-s2 receiver will open dvb-s1 and dvb-s2 channels.

what we need is mpeg4 dvb-s2 reciever which can decode not only multitv but all future hd channels

You can use your strong to track both multi tv and daarsat. it was strong decoder i used to discover multi tv then before posting it on the forum. For multtv, the signal will turn green and give you audio only. so if u input the freq into hd decoder, the picture comes out. to track multi tv use crtv freq 12599v3250 in your mpeg2 strong decoder .

BUT for daarsat, let me share my experience. i put the daar freq 11555v30000 into strong and faced west, what i got was nss7. So i now input daar 2nd freq 11675v30000 and could not hit green, but i noticed that at a point that as move the dish the signal level (though RED) increases. So i decided to lock the dish in that position and now connect my cable to daar box and input the freq. Knowing fully well that is mpeg4, under freq edit menu, i switched to dbs2 8QKP and viola, the signal jumped out. Clicked on scan , the stations rolled in.

with this experience, i was able to use daar box itself to track, but i must confess it is not easy to use, strong is far far very good for tracking. The daar box will not show any signal at all on its signal bar. but when you get the satellite, the signal now pops up unlike strong
therefore more patience is needed when using the box to track

PLS & PLS beforeyou buy daarsat ENSURE that it is not costumised oooo. TEST It by powering it on. It should give you the installation (wizard) menu

and if you must connect to daarsat. Do not accept upgrade. Go to system setup and click on Do not upgrade.

Don't loose sleep over crtv, it is not mpeg4. It is MPeg2. it is multi tv that is MPeg4

if you are limited by space as i do. try get mpeg4 decoder and log on to astra2b with your small dish, you will get lots of american movies from crtv and joytv.

let me add my bit on mpeg4 decoder. daarsat decoder can be used for mpeg4 FTA. am presently using it for astra2b without inserting the smartcard. At 18k, its a good buy

you can not have 50% signal strenght without hitting green. the beam is just too strong.follow the tips i posted above. am very sure you will hit green.

by the way, what dish size and lnb did u use?

use 90 or 60 cm dish.

ASTRA 2B is at 28.5E. it has a beam on nigeria(check lyngsat maps). You wont find its frequences on lyngsat/flysat etc yet. I only took the discovery made by adewest, toxnaija and pitodenz a step further.

TIPS TO TRACK
1. use 12169 H 27500 to get euelsat w4 (dstv)

2. hold your dish in place and input 12599 V 3250 for CRTV

3. move your dish a little upwards and a little shift to your right.

4. You will hit green. the signal is very very high. Using hitv lnb on a strong 60 cm dish, i got 95% signal

i did tracked ASTRA 2B african beam yesterday. The sat looks promising and the signal strenght is very high. I tracked it with 90cm dish but eventually settled for 60cm dish.
