Politics / Jonathan And New Terrorist Group by samparian(m): 10:33am On Oct 11, 2011
his supporters will call me names
those in government will shout insults
but what i must say is the truth.
forget boko haram
forget MEND
MASSOB is childs play compared to this new threat to Nigeria.

yes, president jonathan has become a terrorist by saying his presidency will remove the fuel subsidy.
do you know what that will do to this country?
bomb scare, and invasion of foreign terrorists on this country will be nothing compared to the hardship we will be forced to endure.
once the price of fuel goes up, there will be 200percent inflation on everything from purewater to housing.
please, i beg my people, we must refuse Jonathan and his terror squad.

Politics / Why Jonathan? Why? by samparian(m): 7:09pm On Feb 08, 2011
In as much as i like and admire President Goodluck Jonathan, i find it difficult to understand why his administration takes long to put things in order.
Last year the president lifted the bann on some imported items including textiles, furniture and used cars.
He has misled some law abiding Nigerians into importing those items only for the customs to now claim that they've not gotten any instruction from the Presidency.
Is Jonathan trying to use his statement to score cheap political points with the masses?

this is a list of items on customs prohibition list.

Family / Re: Should Women Propose Marriage? by samparian(m): 2:10pm On Feb 05, 2011
In Naija, proposing to a guy will definitely freak him out.

thats meant for only oyibo girls. years back, my oyibo girlfriend asked me to marry her. i politely turned her down and that was the beginning of the end of our rosy relationship
Family / Re: Is It Rude For A Mother To Boast About Her Child? by samparian(m): 2:03pm On Feb 05, 2011
I think that is normal with some mothers. but i think its wrong. it's always better to let others the boasting and bragging for your children, When they've actually achieved something.

@ Garba Abu

i lived in North for a long time, attended school there. i even have multi million naira real estate investment which has been put on hold because of the recent activities in the north. my business partner has lost interest in the project.
i have witnessed first hand religious riots in the north, thank God i survived/

i saw this picture on twitter and then here and i'm very happy. i know the crises in northern nigeria are not just religious, they are political.

yes. lets ask ourselves these questions.
1. when did the sharia uprising start?

2. does this mean that Nigeria never had islamic fanatics before our democracy??
Foreign Affairs / Re: The West Finally Agrees That Mugabe Was Right by samparian(m): 6:30pm On Feb 02, 2011
i will use the words of President George W. Bush.
"History will tell if i was wrong"

Just as history judged Mother Theresa, Idi Amin, Fela and all past icons and leaders, History will tell if Mugabe is a saint or sinner by taking back those land
Foreign Affairs / Re: The West Finally Agrees That Mugabe Was Right by samparian(m): 6:12pm On Feb 01, 2011
Mugabe did what was right and taking back their ancestral lands.
The sufferings of his people were caused by the West who imposed sanctions on the people hoping that they would revolt in hunger and anger against Mugabe, but that was not the case.
Do you know that majority of the produce from the land was exported to Europe, leaving the people to starve in the midst of plenty.
how can you farm on my land and refuse to sell food to my people and expect me to keep quiet. Hell NO. i'd run the M++F+CK++S out of town

Romance / Re: What Are The Advantage And Disadvantages Of Arranged Marriage? by samparian(m): 5:51pm On Feb 01, 2011
The advantages of arranged marriages are great.

Remember, the couples involved are Not forced to marry. They are just recommended to each other, and if they like each other, they start dating and getting to know themselves better.

When i returned to naija after a 4 year sojourn abroad, i was really confused about who to marry, cos all the babes i knew were really into me and i spent one year jumping from one relationship to another until my mum and aunt picked my wife from a family they knew so well.
at first i was pissed off with my mum and aunt. Later on i ran into my wife in church and she had an appearance that tripped me. i liked her immediately and we got talking and later started dating.

we are now happily married.

you can always say NO if you dont like the arrangement. no be by force.  Everything is in God's hands.
Sports / Re: And We Keep Criticising Mikel by samparian(m): 1:08pm On Jan 31, 2011
in that tournament, Mikel played as a center midfielder and created vey good passes and made moves on goal. Nigerians said then we've gotten Okocha's replacement

now at chelsea, he's a defensive midfielder and a good one, though he doesnt score goals, he is vital to their defence.

you're quite correct. the town has changed from "Home of Peace" to Terrorist State.

though i'm sorry about the dead, i'm glad this act has gotten the attention of the high and mighty. Masses have been living in fear and complaining all these while and nothing was done about it.
Politics / Re: Beyond Rhetoric, Have You Registered? by samparian(m): 11:26am On Jan 30, 2011
Jega dey try a beg o.
i have registered and collected my card immediately.
the distribution of machines were checked with previous voting records in areas.
you dont expect INEC to send 20 machines to place that has only 10,000 voters on record.
my entire estate got only 2 machines and the lines were endless, but my home town got 12 machines because we had lots of registered voters in my town from previous elections.
i just travelled home and registered because i always vote in my home town
Politics / Re: Breaking News : Governorship Candidate Shot Dead. by samparian(m): 11:15am On Jan 30, 2011
at least in Lagos we are not talking about the governor and his immediate family.
ok, this is the history.

1999-2003: Ali Modu Sheriff - Senator
1999-2003: Mala Kachallah - Governor (Best man to the wedding of governor's father and his godfather as an infant)

disgreement between the two and Sheriff runs Kachallah out of ANPP and eventually the government house in 2003.

2003-2011: Ali Modu Sheriff - Governor
1999-2011: His father benefits from all state contracts

For the past 8 years the governor has NEVER slept in the government house. He stays with his father in GRA and rides to the office daily in a convoy of over 15 SUVs which include his precious 2 Hummer jeeps

And the ANPP candidate is killed and everybody is talking. Even the senate. shame. Are the lives of those killed on Friday worth more than numerous lives that have been wasted and ruined since February 2006 in Maiduguri?
Politics / Re: Breaking News : Governorship Candidate Shot Dead. by samparian(m): 1:23am On Jan 30, 2011
Baga road, baban line (electronics market), and bank of the north area (used spare parts) are the major areas where 3 igbo businessmen were robbed and shot. the motorcycle dealer survived.
Politics / Re: Breaking News : Governorship Candidate Shot Dead. by samparian(m): 1:19am On Jan 30, 2011
only igbo businessmen were robbed and murdered in their shops in broad daylight. that sparked the 3 day business strike which crippled the town. igbo community leaders had a meeting wih the governor and officially laid their complaint about the insecurity of lives and property.
Soldiers and policemen being killed have no particular ethnicity. They are killed randomly.

Politics / Re: Breaking News : Governorship Candidate Shot Dead. by samparian(m): 1:09am On Jan 30, 2011
i dey fly under the radar these days for security reasons grin no blame me.

things have been tense in Borno state for a long time. Nobody paid any attention to the killing of igbo businessmen, police men and military personnel. The igbo's in the state went on a sit at home strike for 3 days. Businesses were reonpened on Thursday morning.

any soldier or policeman that walks alone in the streets of maiduguri is a moving target. this has been going on since last year but it was kept out of the papers.
I'll say it again, Gov. Sherrif MUST know about the crises in his state. He wants to return to the senate, put his wife in House of Reps, His brother as governor and his father as chief contractor of the state
Politics / Re: Breaking News : Governorship Candidate Shot Dead. by samparian(m): 12:51am On Jan 30, 2011
i have returned from my sabatical leave. grin
ANPP of borno state know what is happening. this is an in house cleansing that's going on. SAS cannot claim ignorance. He and his family are too ambitous for their own good.

thanks for all your candid contributions.
as suggested, a third doctor has been consulted and i'm afraid the news is not encouraging. i'm also receiving treatment for infection she has passed on to me.
i honestly dont think i can continue with this.
i cant even afford the operation that is being lined up.
Blame me all you want but i cant continue.
what would you do?
Family / Re: Help! I'm At Crossroads. by samparian(m): 2:34pm On May 22, 2010
The infection caused all these illnesses. How can a man start a marriage on this note?
And the annoying part of all this is that she knew all this and lied to me. She kept it all to her self and now, i'm to foot the bills for all her medicals. The doctors won't even give clear details if she can conceive. They said they can only tell after the operation.

My fellow nairalanders,
what would you do if you were in shoes?
i just paid my wife's bride price a month ago, though we started making love in november last year.
we paid a visit to the doctor for all the usual tests before our wedding only to find out the following.
My wife has Ovarian cyst on both ovaries, fibriod, pelvic infection and an enlarged womb.
The doctor says its as a result of an infection she has had over a year.
I have spent over 50k on medical bills so far and i'm scared shitless.
Will she ever concieve? should i leave her and call off the wedding?
