This is money laundering. They are trying to make this loot clean.
We need to have a cabal, well-chosen independently to serve just like an Aufsichtsrat/Board of directors in corporations, that can summon the president of Nigeria.
I can't believe this is happening at this age. |

Inasmuch as I don't want to conclude blindly, I concur with this piece and I also think that, the time EFCC spends on follow-through is not enough. If they gather concrete evidence, easy to proof before the jury, these criminals won't come out conquering the well-documented constitutions of a state. The number of criminals that win against the govt is high in Nigeria. Maybe 1 in 10 yahoo boys goes to jail. The peak of it all is that, some of these boys have security detail, some have become friends with those we expect should arrest them. SARS would go to burst a compound with yahoo-boys, in 10mins, they've reached agreements, like they're tax collectors. Nonsense! |

These guys (Secret Service) must have been on his case for quite a long while, waiting for the right moment to go in, the right moment to build enough evidence worth absolute justification to make the court case easier for the Judge (and Jury), no be our very own EFCC... Arrest without concrete evidence, grant bail tomorrow. Then the criminal makes friends on the inside...
If this whole thing is true, I think they should bring them to our Nigerian Prison. The prisons abroad I see in movies na enjoyment. |

I don't know when I'd completely learn python, I guess till I retire. Anyways, I'm more concerned with python for finance. Learning has been a little difficult because of ease of access to detailed materials. I prefer sources like Datacamp & Code Academy because of the interactiveness, but just yesterday, Datacamp's website came up with a banner ad I can't remove from my screen. I promised myself nothing less than 3 certifications during this lockdown, I have two now, just this last one... Do you use python for finance? How did you get through it? Any recommendations? |

lablonclacla: Lol......the editing has distorted the pictures. No doubt OAU has some of the most beautiful architectural buildings but due to lack of maintenance, they are becoming shadows of themselves. Most haven't been painted for decades. Reason is why UI and UNILAG are far ahead.
Take for example no hostel in UNILAG or UI can ever be this bad and unkempt like these ones in the first two pictures. Now compare this to the worst hostel in unilag Enijoku from the last two pictures and see what i am talking about. Make sure you modify this post. Those photos of OAU's hostel are really obsolete. OAU has since renovated her hostels plus redefine hostel policy. It looks beautiful now. I'm not there but I was at some of their hostels sometime last year, it's totally different now. |

Autos › Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by SamuelLoch: 9:59am On May 30, 2020 |
Jesterfly: Madam thank your stars, yours was battery and a recommended mechanic that didn't do what he was paid for, probably he dropped off the work for his boys who did a shaddy job on your car. Some of us here had it bad, but decided to keep our cool-the guy code thing. I paid for my Pontiac may/June last year, the car arrived August, it came clean both interior and exterior, admired by everyone who saw her on the road, but na only me wey wear the shoe know where e dey pinch me. Amdman claimed the car has no rust, in his own words "no rust at all", needs only a kick starter to start, no other issues. Omo, the issues wey that car get ehn, even devil go run leave am,had leaks from the moon roof, na so water go full inside the passenger & driver side whenever it rains or I wash it. I bought and took a kick starter (9k from ladipo auto market) with me to the port, got a mechanic there to fix it for 4k, alas the car didn't start after fixing it,obviously the kick starter wasn't the issue, had to tow it with 25k to my house cos allowing it to sleep in the port would incur more cost on me. I later got some auto electricians to make it start for 40k. That was the first phase of trying to bring the car to life, the next phase was fixing the rust underneath the vehicle, I've never seen so much rust on a car in my entire life. Fixed that too to an extend, before the car could stand to an appreciable standard for me. Every other month from August, I spend nothing less than 50k fixing one issue or the other on the car, the car was a nightmare to me. At a point I even changed top Gasket, cos it got burnt. I got tired of the car and sold it off at a give away price, when I called Amdman and told him I've sold my Pontiac, his first response was to laugh. I asked him to get me another (knowing fully well what I want & how to go about it this time around), he showed me 2 pix, but ignored me when I told him I want total inspection (underneath videos & pix, suspension, etc). So madam Codyella, fix what needs fixing and move on, you don't owe anybody a breakdown of what you've fixed or spent on the car, ignore that dingbat who was asking you to explain how you spent the 100k or shut up for life. Exactly my notion. If there's one thing I know for sure about this whole thing, it would be that she's not lying, especially about the car servicing saga. Codyella, please drop an update after today's check. Once your car is fixed, this whole thing would stop. |

I blame it on their financial advisor. Probably, their moved their cash into a liquid market, to cut down taxes. In finance, declaring bankruptcy or selling 1 of your many mansions does not totally mean you're broke, it could be a move to get IRS and some other agencies off your track. |
Family › Re: HELP! My Brother Is Too Dull by SamuelLoch: 10:45pm On May 29, 2020 |
Gundel001: Hi good day my fellow Nairalander please I will really need your experience about this issue. Please help me read to the end as it is a little bit long.
My junior brother is 14 years old and to be sincere I haven’t seen anybody as dull as him. I don’t know if it is natural but I just can’t understand why someone at that age could still be struggling with very simple arithmetic. My brother can’t write 1 – 150 correctly at 14.
He seems too dull; note he attends one of the best private school around our area, though I know you might say maybe education is not his way but even if you want to drop out from school you should know some basic things like money, time, multiplication and so on but my brother doesn’t know anything I must say, even to write his name correctly is a problem. It is making everyone unhappy lot of money is being spent on lesson teachers and other things for him still no improvement.
I am a student of one of the top federal University in Nigeria same as my other siblings even at both secondary and undergraduate level we were always above average so I can’t say his problem is genetic. I really wants to know what is the problem with him nairalanders. After I finished secondary school I once taught some pupils in primary school though there were dull ones too there but with time I could see improvement unlike my brother i always try to teach him from time to time but it kind of frustrating as he doesn’t even seems like he will ever grab anything and he doesn’t behave like he wants to learn anything.
He makes it seems as if he is not interested book or arithmetic at all …we all tried talking to him endless time to always read any time he his less busy but he never does except he is being forced.
He rarely talks, he loves to keep to himself always, he doesn’t have interest in anything unlike we the others that are die hard football fans, most times my mom will tell him to even go out to play and mingle he will not still want to go, he prefer to stay at home seating all day without reading or doing anything, even if it is to draw or play football he wont.
This matter is not making everyone happy at home we don’t even know the solution to his problem again, as in imagine having a child that is 14 years old that doesn’t know the difference between 17 and 71 it is just so bad…..
We don’t know if his case is mental or spiritual. please nairalanders I know there are child experts in the house or anybody who have experienced something like this before what do you think is the problem and possible solutions to the problem your contributions are welcome.
Please help me push this pleaseeeeee He's a damaged learner. There are three domains to learn something new, cognitive domain, affective domain and psychomotor domain. Getting a lesson teacher, writing and telling him encompasses cognitive domain. You'd have to explore the affective and psychomotor domain. Try teaching him through demonstration, simulation, an app or a place. You need to work on his self-esteem also, seems he has lost his confidence. |

OJURONGBE1: The lady should discard some of your advise. Motor craft engine oil (5w20/30) and motor craft oil filter are specially recommended for Ford cars. It cost 23k or so, don't just buy any road side 5k oil and pour inside your SUV ,na trouble you dey find so. Make sure you check the transmission oil too .Ford Mecron Lv should be used (it cost 17k). Also, get a trained Ford specialist mechanic to work on your car, if you give it to any tom ,dick and harry , that motor no go last 1 year. Follow these instructions and you'll enjoy your car. Codyella corrected me on this already. She said she got Castro synthetic blend. I almost forgot its not the regular... |

Codyella: I don't want to take this any further but I owe it to most of you on this thread asking me about the car I bought to warn you. Amdman sold me a car with a dead battery after assuring me of the durability of the car. I kept on asking him about the battery and he lied to me that its a new battery. His crew took stuffs from the car. I even paid them 22k for car service and the oil and filter wasn't changed. I reported all this to him and he told me expressively that it is not his problem. His crew just boosted the vehicle and brought it back. The car came in 4 days ago and its been parked at my garage cos its basically empty with alot of stuffs missing and it can't even start. So, buy at your own risk. Cos I'm NEVER doing any other business with this guy. @Codyella, about the item(s) stolen, is it any of these? Radio, AC knobs, jack, wheel-spanner, logo of the car or the rim cover. I've actually heard about this issue before. Help Amdman address this and improve his business. I'm awaiting your response. |

Codyella: I'm taking it to the pit tomorrow to check if the patch work is OK. Hopefully, I'm not going to work on anything else. At a point I had to ask myself, "did you buy direct Belgium abi naija used car?" it's well. For sure, you did not buy naija used car. I also hope there's nothing else to fix in the car after tomorrow's check. However, if there is, just think of it as getting your car up to standard. To a state where you won't have to worry anytime you're about to drive out. Don't think of it as Amdman's fault. Once all of these is over, you'd have great peace of mind about your car. What about the security of the car, have you checked that too? |
Autos › Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by SamuelLoch: 3:52pm On May 29, 2020 |
Codyella: Thank you for your concern. So far, you seem to understand my predicament. I worked on the transmission, compressor, bought a new battery, the tire stabilizer keeps hanging out of the car. I patched somewhere under the car that had rust, power steering too had issue. I bought a new oil, Castro synthetic blend, quite pricey not your regular oil though cos thats what the car uses. Mind you, I already paid 22k to Amdman for his mechanic to add it to the car. But he didn't. Amongst others cos I paid for them at once so these are the ones I remembered.
I'm cutting my losses and moving on. I was running away from extra cost by avoiding naija dealers. Never knew I'm entering from frying pan to fire. And now, after I've spent money working on the car, Amdman is texting me, asking me if I want to collect refund and sell.
I simply laughed. Man got no soul.
All in all. It's well. You've done quite a lot, I must say. Buying car in Naija could be worse than 50:50. Chances are that you would still work on these things. It could have been after a month or 2. Albeit, it's good to hear you say, you've moved on. So, is your mechanic now done or still at work? What's the status now? After working on these things, the car should be in good condition... |
Autos › Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by SamuelLoch: 3:21pm On May 29, 2020 |
Codyella: I have done my review. Amdman, you can keep the money. I'm done going back and forth with you on this issue cos I have clearly stated my point. You ripped me off in this car purchase but I believe that karma is real. We all pay for our actions one way or the other. I have learned a big lesson from all this and life goes on. Like I said to those that contacted me, buy at your own risk but hopefully he might improve after all this. I've attached the picture of the filter. It is rusted not dirty. I can only imagine what you've been going through all along. Clearly, you're not making this story up. I believe these costs are one time, and things like this happen in business. Let him challenge his mechanic who probably has caused this chaos. Prior to when he gets a response from the mechanic, don't stop work on getting your car to a driving condition in time. If my info is not outdated, oil filters aren't expensive. I can remember buying a Toyota oil filter for N600. Ford shouldn't be far different from this estimate. You can share with us things the mechanic has and is working on. We can provide good support here. |
