You cannot claim to love your country and be jubiliating when you read bad news about it.

Yes, I campaigned and voted for Peter Obi too, but always rejoicing whenever you read bad news about Nigeria shows you never loved the country in the first place!

You guys need to check yourselves!
When the righteous is in power, the people rejoice. But when the wicked rules, the people grumbles.

Tinubu is a wicked man and you don't expect him to do magic. Whether you supported Obi or the man in power makes no difference. Allow people to mourn about this bad government the way they want.

Mere wishes can't change anything. It can't change the man in Aso Rock or his wicked policies. So, let that guy be.

Good evening, i really appreciate your maturity and sense of humor but i must tell you the whole truth: ppl are suffering, I'm not sentimental about it. This has nothing to do with tribe/religion ok, in the last 2 weeks, over 7 grown ups(adults) called me for financial help. Many have not receive June salary oh!

I won't be too fast to cast aspersion on PBAT but the way he removed subsidy must be condemned, no palliative, absolutely nothing to cushion the effects on the masses. Nobody has protested and believe that ppl will not hence if he "failed?" He won't blame it on the masses.
Let's call a spade what it is, sir. It's just a wicked form of leadership. He doesn't care about us and I'm putting it that way because the situation on ground suggests same.

Our hustle has been reduced to nonsense because of inflation. People are trekking long distances. Lecturers are packing their cars at home and using taxis to come to work because fueling the car would consume a significant part of their meager salary.

Mehn, there's serious suffering and I'm not happy. In my city, Calabar, kidnapping is now a commonplace. They now kidnap anyone that crosses their lane including Bolt drivers. The kind of hardship created by this government is creating a lot of evil in the land. It never used to be this bad.

that's the cultural set back am talking about. In the Hausa culture there's this thing of begging mentality instead of using one's God giving ability to source for wealth. While the South may not resort to that because of shame ,it may resort to 419 in place of begging. Begging or alm seeking exist among the lower class. And there's this I don't care attitude on building wealth like in the South. Most Northerners live on a day by day bases. From hand to pocket. It's just a mentality thing.
And these are the people that forms the larger North. That's why I said they are more tolerant to hardship. They care less. Even with the hardship, they keep giving birth like fowls, walking around drawing breast from front to back for their babies. These set of people don't fu*kin' care what the government does.

Every Nigeria is used to hardship. The North is contented with what they have which might make them not to even realize if they're suffering or not . Things are relatively cheap in the North compared to the south which means with less income you live a normal life here. If not for terrorism and maybe some cultural setbacks, the North is a Southerners dream. Most Southerners that comes to the North hardly wants to go back. The day I visited a friends wedding in Illorin capital, I had to appreciate what we have in the North. I hardly see a beautiful building in the capital, no any big shopping mall, furnitures and many other things necessary for day to day life. When I visited Lagos in 2006, the way we rush to enter car, the traffic jam, pick pocket and many other societal problem makes me want to get out of the city as soon as possible.
Well, I may be wrong. But with the way I see Northerners begging in the South, I feel they are more tolerant to hardship than Southerners because they hardly see that the government is suffocating the people.

you're a bloody lier to say Southerners are not suffering. What do you take the North for ? The rate of teenage and adult prostitution in southern part is overwhelming. Yahoo yahoo plus, baby factory, drug trafficking etc those negatives are what makes you know if a society is suffering or not.
I said we are not used to hardship as compared to the high level of poverty up North.

Good day, your second paragraph drew my attention to this thread. I know that ppl are suffering, no doubt about that; those who opposed subsidy removal during GEJ days are now preaching to us to accept it or go to hell despite there is nothing on ground to cushion the effects.

Please i advice you to give PBAT a benefit of doubt, i spend more now compare to the last administration but i choose to be positive. A better country is what we desire and i believe that Nigeria will be better, thank you.
Thanks for your comment.

But do you honestly think that Tinubu wouldn't have been able to put measures on ground before removing the subsidy if he had us in mind at all?

He would have been able to do that but he totally ignored doing that but went ahead to hit on the subsidy removal. That's evil bro. Soon we'll enter July, what has he done with June subsidy that he's recovered? Instead, he's busy suffocating institutions that have been largely helpful.

Soon, WAEC/NECO exam fees is going to rise because they won't be getting support from the government again. They'll have to fund themselves. All the institutions that the councils he just deprived support would begin to fund themselves. What would that mean for the services they head just like the WAEC/NECO example above?

People from the North or Middle Belt are used to hardship so you or your people will hardly see anything wrong with Tinubu and his style of governance. I'm a Southerner and I'm not used to hardship and I'm telling you that the man is suffocating us. Buhari was very bad, and Tinubu, if at all he had the interest of Nigerians at heart wouldn't have started this way.

Tell me one thing the government has done that has directly helped reduce hunger and poverty since the days of Jonathan down to Tinubu. I put it to you that the government doesn't have the people at heart. You guys are only hoping.

The arrest of CBN governor is a big one towards fighting corruption in Nigeria. By so doing the can of warm is now open, Dss have taken in others inluding EFCC boss, the former NSA name is now coming up.

The security Arms he put in place for the first time have no rivalry , never heard of retiring top officers to bring in a non qualify junior and and have receive a general applaud for him.

The truth is that if Obi were to be the one that remove the fuel subsidy which he said he will if elected, there could have been a total revolution or protest atleast but he successfully have ended it without much alarcrity even though we are expecting parliative including June salary that have not yet been paid even in the difficulties and Salah.

He was able to detect sharp practices and corruption in the IPPIS including salary padding in no time, this lead to immidiate dissolving of the rotted boards of chairmen in the ministries and parastatals which could have cripple his efforts if he try to do contrarily to the corruption they install in the organization.

Their is little or no attempt to influence the legislations obviously so far and other arms of government.

You appraise a government based on their ability to make life better for the people more than the way they met them. All these things you are typing here is mere sycophantic expression.

Ask yourself how your life has been better off more than the way Tinubu met it. The funny thing is that nothing is going to soften the present hardship in the land.

I don't know why people like you don't learn nor understand but you claim to be a patriot more than anyone else. How was the last palliative during the COVID period? Keep talking nonsense there and remaining small. Keep praising Tinubu because he's your kinsman.

FamilyRe: My Husband Wants Us To Relocate To The Village by samuelson06(m): 6:01pm On Jun 20, 2023
momsloved:
Good afternoon everyone, pls I urgently need your advice and suggestions on this.

My husband has been out of job since towards the end of last year. Almost the same time I had my second baby. The truth is, the same me nursing my baby has been the same person struggling to provide for the home.

Knowing that he contributed to his lost of job. He goes to work late, different excuses, doing the job anyhow that the management had to fire him. This is the second job he's losing due to carelessness.
He wasn't still meeting up with responsibilities even when he had those jobs. He was always complaining of TP expenses, deduction due to late coming, his salaries was not benefiting us.

Our present accomodation of 250k, one bedroom apartment is expiring ending of next month and I don't know how we're going to pay for the rent. The previous rent I have always contributed when I had the money.
Presently I have no job. I left my job during delivery, but I'm hoping to start looking for job very soon. Yet, I'm not idle. I'm still trying with little business to cartar for the house.

The issue now is, he has arranged his stuffs preparing to relocate to the village and he wants us to go together because he can't afford to renew the rent.
I told him I can't go to the village with him, we are too young to start retiring to the village. What about good school for the children especially my first child? But he has decided to go without us, leaving us with the whole responsibilities.
I'm afraid, I can't afford everything here either. But going with him to the village is also very scary. A man who ignore us when there's nothing in the house, waiting for me to fix, how can I trust him and relocate with my two children to his village? I can't speak their language and it's an interior village, How do we survive there?
He's not even considering all these.
Pls, advice me on what to do. I'm really fed up.
Don't go to the village with him. If he wasn't serious with his life in the city, it's not in the village that he's going to be serious. He's looking for a cheap life of rest.

Meanwhile, how do you girls get entangled with these kind of men? It's very clear that you guys have different approach to life. You seem to be the man while the man appears to be the woman.

Sh!t.

Well, the popular saying that your true colour will not be revealed until you have money, fame or power is a valid statement.
It has always been valid. You can't say someone is good when you've not exposed them to money. Certain attitudes and character is simply because of poverty. Give them money and they will show you the real stuff they are made of.

No Nigerian law permits any elected political officer to run a private business simultaneously with the office he’s holding, so Akpabio should explain to us the type of business that fetched him that huge amount as a sitting governor.

Such an amount could only come from kickbacks, contracts inflation and state funds.
Sadly, even with all we know is wrong about what politicians do, we can't still get justice. So whether nigga was sitting governor or business man, his money or government money, clean or dirty money, no need wasting time to talk about it.

Nigerian politicians have captured Nigeria. There's nothing you or I can do. Let's just go look for business and make it work for us. Nigeria belongs to the present politicians and their children.

They've messed up the economy and make life very difficult for the rest of us. Who's going to fight them? The middle class right now are struggling to drive their cars to office because the car would consume a significant percentage of their salary. Who can they cry to? Millions of Nigerians have been pushed to abject poverty and crime rate is on the rise. Who can we cry to?

They said subsidy enriches a few but, right now, millions are suffering its removal. Who do we cry to? So, leave these people. Let's see how we can make our lives meaningful through serious hard work because at the end of the day, we are aging cry

So many things were wrong from the onset.

The first time I heard that some security guards were sacked because they danced on duty, as an employer I felt the action was justified. How do you dance on a duty that required alertness and focus? But due to sentiments and victim mentality, many people castigated Chicken Republic and called them all sort of unprintable names. The OPM guy also jumped on the clout, justifying the silly attitude of the boys, as a MOG, he ought to have chastised them but he made it look like they were victimized and rewarded their irresponsible actions. He is now the newest victim of the boys, they have brought negative attention to him, to the point of him so provoked, he is laying curses on them. He didn't tell them the truth about their bad work ethics, those boys became privileged and thought their actions were right. They feel they have attained star status and would not want to return home even when the man said he could not afford their upkeep in Cyprus anymore. Since they have become stars, let their fans donate money for their upkeep. The lesson here is, never justify bad behavior, it's a monster that comes back to bite the enabler.
You've spoken so well.

You know, people feel they can just jump on something, especially, if they want to do good. The man of God has always been taking advantage of people's misfortune that hits the social media. It may appear like he's doing good, but is he going to tell us that there's nobody in his church or street that needs help? Why always jumping in to help people whose problem got reported on the social media?

That probably shows he loves the attention he enjoys when it's finally reported that he's admitted those people into his care program.

You see some wayward boys that got reprimanded because of bad behavior and instead of you to talk to them and also talk to their employer to take them back, (that's if at all you want to intervene), you went and offer them scholarship. Was it necessary? Did God say you should offer them scholarship? Or you were just doing your own as a man while using the name of God as your inspiration?

Now that it has backfired, let him also enjoy the backlash the same way he was jumping in to enjoy the praise. It's that simple.

Those injuries came as a result of continuous injection at same injection site.

The problem with some of the so-called health practitioners in Nigeria is that they want to handle everything health.

They don't know when they should administer drugs or call in a social worker. This problem would have been handled by a social worker successfully through the psychiatric hospital without all these damages.

Even when you have to administer drugs, it's not every drug that you should allow the patient to know. Maybe that would've helped this person to stop taking it when the situation was getting out of control.

Now, if God is not by his side, this sh!t may end in amputation.

How is that my business?

Ladies, roll with hardworking and responsible guys during your courtships, they say No, instead like moving about with hooligans, chewing gum boys and fuckboys whose only ambition in life is get little money from God-knows-where, buy the latest clothes in the market without minding what the future holds.

Men being lazy does not magically begins from old age, it starts from the youthful days, and I'm sure the wives didn't get to know their husbands from older age, and I'm also sure that they must have seen the red flag and signs of laziness from the very beginning during courtship and dating, but chose to ignore due to useless love that blinded their eyes.

This was the same reason why I didn't marry from my state. I lost both parents (may their souls continue resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen) at a very tender age, and as such, didn't have the time to look fresh like other guys because, I devoted all my time building myself and hustling to survive, raising funds for my tuition fees at Unizik.

There's this lady from my state that I would have married in those days, but guess what; she said I was too local for her liking. She started rolling with big boys in the hood and luckily for her, she ended up with one, they got married, I became devastated because I loved her as at that time, it also delayed my chances of getting married for a very long time. After about 4years into their marriage, the husband was traveling from portharcourt to somewhere in Abuja to deliver a consignment but nabbed by the NDLEA and consequently arrested by the agency. He was charged and jailed, but because he had strong legal backups, he was given a lighter sentence. He served for not up to 1 year and was out of the jail. Because he doesn't have any handwork, he isn't educated, in short, he doesn't have any humanly possible skills to start a new life after being released from the prison and his properties confiscated, he started roaming around the city, drinking excessive alcohol, spending time in lotto centers and betting centers while she caters for the wellbeing of the family and payment of bill.

One day, she became fed up and said enough is enough. she filed for a divorce and it was granted. She disappeared with her kids.
At what age did you finally get married?
