PoliticsRe: Bill To Stop Overseas Medical-Treatments For Officials Underway by Samxiulee: 6:06pm On Apr 16, 2013
Abok1: apart from the fact that the bill won't go past the first reading, how do we sufficiently determine that a government official is funding his medical trip from personal money and not the tax payer's money? When the money in his account in the first place is the government money already looted.

We don't need any bill on health care, what we need is a focus on the development of the healthcare infrastructures across the country a feat that would encourage patronage of these facilities. Even if the elites chose to go overseas for their healthcare needs, the better infrastructures would serve the masses.

ehmmmmm liltle do you know about how govt works,no matter how much this guys loot, they still want more, hence the reason why they travel abroad on taxpayers money whenever they have headache.
@op on top,I really don't think the bill will see the light of the day,not with those senior thieves abi na senators, lawlessnessmakers we have @ the assembly.

PoliticsRe: Ghana To Re-open Nigerian Shops by Samxiulee: 1:44pm On Apr 09, 2013
Capnd143: I knew ghana was just trying to play strong, and i like them 4 dat, but i also knew when nigerian politicians get involved then closing down nigerian shops is history! The just wanted some attention to express their view on the issues of banning their goods e.g cement, bt why wouldnt GEJ Ban those when Mr.DANGOTE IS BUILDING FACTORY LIKE FLIES EVERYWHERE IN NAIJA. Its all about local content.
I like mr dangote, but this cement issues is against the laws in economics, they claim they have surplus yet the price didn't come down, they claimed that they have capacity to supply the Nigerian market and export the product, they didn't,am really confused cos I can see that, this same situation might play out if and when we have more refineries, either private or govt owned,if the cement from Ghana is cheaper abeg they should let it in.
btw when did Ghana start cement production?
PoliticsRe: Ghana To Re-open Nigerian Shops by Samxiulee: 1:35pm On Apr 09, 2013
We Nigerians can be funny calling others all sort of names anytime it suits us,small Ghana and yet our minister had to go down there before those shops were opened, this is also the kind of thread igbos and yorubas will unite and fight others, smh.

Utterly ridiculous....if a blogger want people to take him or her serious, then they should stop spewing fallacy earn credibility first, many members of this forum are very close to the people listed on the biog,a lot of people ib that industry are members of this forum, the standard of movies nowadays are improving, many thanks to the cinemas and pay per view cable channels, the producers are getting something and avoiding the alaba boys finally.
PoliticsRe: Is Amnesty The Solution To Insecurity, Terrorism & Boko-Haram Crises? by Samxiulee: 7:13pm On Apr 08, 2013
One question, does amnesty implies that money must be paid to the people?boko haram, mend and others?
Why must we always monetize everything in Nigeria,if fg want to grant amnesty, let them grant it without paying anybody.

PoliticsRe: Orji Advises Igbos To Leave North by Samxiulee: 5:23pm On Apr 04, 2013
alfaman2: He, like other mumus commenting here are trying to paint the Igbo victims of northern islamist madness as being responsible for their own misfortune by staying in a part of their own country.

Only south african apartheid regime had a system of internal segregation based on ethnicity, and even them made it official and supplied documents telling everyone where they can go or not go. There at least you may blame victims, foolishly, if they get maltreated in banned territory.

But this is one nigeria, where northerners own oil wells in the south, where northerners don't need visa to rear their cows in the south, where they roam free, and you want our own people to be quarantined in the east?

Coming from a supposedly Igbo leader makes it a highly foolish statement.
oga one Nigeria I beg oti to,e don do,spare us that one Nigeria thing,I am from lagos,a yoruba man a southern Nigerian before being a Nigerian!the reason why is simple, northerners don't get killed in the south here, their women here wears whatever they want to wear, they drink whatever they want, but if we should try that up there, they blow us up?I see my igbo southern brother as one don't mind us on how much we abuse each other,it doesn't mean we don't love eachother,or av u not seen where an egba man abuse an ijebu man?,truly our igbo brother are more enterprising but please they need to come back home, let's leave the north for them, please biko.

1forall: A good manager should know how to manage players' egos. The same thing happened with Osaze prior to the Nations cup, Mr Keshi needs to pay more attention to these details.
hummmm the best managers in the world mourinho and sir Alex don't give a hoot about any player's ego,as soon as u exhibit that, you are left on the bench and on your way out of the team.
PoliticsRe: FG Awards 13 Roads Contracts Worth N47.8b And N3.6b Satellite Map by Samxiulee: 4:00pm On Mar 29, 2013
Gabbysky:
My BRO, do you live in Lagos?
The Oshodi-Apapa exp.way, from Wharf to Ijesha Express has been completed (one lane), and second phase from Ijesha to Oshodi has commenced, being handled by Messrs Julius Berger.
Lagos-Ibadan expressway project is moving just fine, take a trip there yourself.

Though sponsored by the World Bank and the ADB, but greatly supported in no small means by the FG, the Lagos-Badagry expressway project is gathering huge praises to all involved.
These road rehabilitation don't come cheap, considering the 2013 Budget of the Min. of Works and they are FG Roads,
The Wharf-Ikorodu exp.way would have gone far too, but Oga Fash has asked the Min. of Work to keep off for now, but I know whenever the FG decides on that road, BRF will know he's just a boy.

All said, be it campaign strategy or not, this administration ain't that bad afterall, I have no regrets for my vote in 2011 and I plus many other Progressives shall do it again come 2015, God-willing.

God Bless Nigeria!!!
my Bro
I live in lagos,as a lere boy and someone who comes from badagry I think you are not well informed about things happing in lagos,
The two roads you mentioned apapa oshodi and badagry express way are not correct, firstly apapa oshodi road was awarded by yaradua govt not gej, badagry express way is funded by world bank loan and its being executed by lagos state government not the federal govt.the problem with most of this abandoned or uncompleted projects are funding, this govt officials won't complete one before they award another one, leaving uncompleted mess, litters all over the country
PoliticsRe: FG Awards 13 Roads Contracts Worth N47.8b And N3.6b Satellite Map by Samxiulee: 4:25pm On Mar 28, 2013
I really don't understand, just because Gej awards or re_award a contract for a railroad for lagos ibadan, does not mean that the SW should be excluded from the list, the rail road has being awarded and re awarded since abacha regime, obasanjo now its Gej.
The main thing is not the award of contracts but commission of those projects anywhere they may be in the country
There is nothing tribalistic in Musiwa's post. If you were bright enough, you would have realized that he was using the old Northern, Western, and Eastern regions in his illustration. Back then, Edo state was part of the West while Yenegoa was in the East. You sir, are the one who seems to be the tribalist.
oga pls spare us that,de all knew what he was driving at,the Old regions, but he was wrong,we all err sometimes, that's what makes us human,

CultureRe: Common Yoruba Words Borrowed From Arabic by Samxiulee: 2:59pm On Mar 06, 2013
Olayinkaoj: Good work there but I disagree with the following items:
5. Atele... A-te-le. If the word is broken down , same as I just did, one will see that it is a combination of Yoruba letters with meaning. Meaning A-We, te-le-follow, meaning we follow

7. Amo ....A-mo (in-addition) Mo means plus in Yoruba

8. Imale is a word from Imo-to-le meaning knowledge-that-is-difficult, there is nothing like Mali here

9. Iwaju, I think is a pure Yoruba word but I cant contest this much
Iwaju means I bi ti oju wa...where the eyes is facing..I dnt think that one have anything to do with Arabic.

Can we for once stop this tribal bashing? It doesn't make sense jubilating when this kind of a thing happens, funsho williams, bola ige, dipo dina, all this names are unsolved killings in the SW,am a Yoruba man and am disgust the way some of my fellow yorubas comment here on nairaland,we are not brought up like this,we should always led by example,if others abuse us and call us different kind of names,it doesn't mean we should do same, two wrongs does not make a right.rip to the dead.

I don't blame her sha. Some of the bastards (excuse my french) out there who invade homes & harm children...I would do the same if the circumstances called for it jor.

At the same time...so many accidental gun deaths...I don't know its the best to have guns around babies.
that picture reminds me of the Connecticut shooting, the shooter used his mother's gun to shoot people, mostly children, his mother and himself.at a point in her life she might have being a proud gun owner.
