Rabinovitch says he has found similar checks in Western Wall charity boxes before, but they all bounced. He says most of them were written by people from Africa.

The rabbi says he thinks the check writers "wanted to give all they had to the Creator of the universe."

Wasn't it obvious in 2009 during late President Yar'adua's tenure, that a Northerner was being shopped to replace Professor Soludo? This was basically due to North/South principle of rotation, which in itself is a product of Federal Character. I have no problem with SLS's intimidating and respectable CV in the banking industry, but the truth remains that the Federal Character was used to nominate him as the CBN governor. but how come the principle of rotation was not applied after Paul ogbuma was succeeded by Joseph sanusi,who was also succeeded by a southerner Charles soludo,I repeat,sls becoming a cbn gov had nothing to do with federal character.

I have read through the post and am disappointed with the comments am seeing,sls was not appointed as cbn governor,based on federal character,but rather,it was base on merit,if their is a position in government that the federal character principle can be applied,its the cbn governor,you don't want to appoint someone without good economic and financial knowledge to be the head of your banking industry,cos the whole world is watching and investors will react to it.

What makes lagos unique is the population and diversity.
If all non indigents of lagos were to leave, the place would be scanty and the population that ensures huge sales and services that attracts investors would drop and the place would be scanty.

did u read his first speech @ the lecture?he never called for the sack of the civil service,it was just the media twisting his statement to sell papers,remember that none of the TV media reported him to have said that,I was a victim of his tsunami but the reality is that if he didn't do what he did that time close to 30% of depositors in the bank then would have lost their money,which will be disastrous to the economy,I never agreed with him on the 5000 naira note,and I dnt like the way he was arrogant about it,thank God the govt cancelled it,but we are all humans and sometimes we think we know best,but on the average I think he is honest and he has the goodwill of the nation @ hand.
