There is no competition in the south because the south is already polarised between APC south west and PDP SS + SE, And there are 6 vs 11 states in South.

The real competition is in the north.

GEJ was already having difficulty paying salaries before he was kicked out. He even delayed NYSC allowance for almost a month(I was serving then).
