My crystal ball is working Lol! If this happens, then we would sure proceed to the next phase of the tournament. I somewhat trust these players, save for the goalkeepers. |

baby124: Did you see the mother carry microphone? The girl simply wanted her wedding a certain way. Not everyone is like you or has your ancestry. Respect others and don't force your opinion on them. The wedding has ended, the couple have moved on. You should also move on with your life and mind your business. Are they your family members? I honestly don't understand the rationale behind the convulsion you exhibited. EVERYONE at some point have ancestors. That they lost their roots is a topic to be discussed some other time. |

laudate: No sir. They had just two - introduction (at the end of which bride price was discussed) because groom's family came from afar and needed to go back, and then the traditional wedding proper which took place a month after the introduction. I was actually referring to Banky and Adesua, sir. |
Celebrities › Re: Omosefe Woghiren: Things Banky W, Adesua Etomi's Family Didn't Do At The Wedding by Sanchez01(m): 3:16pm On Nov 20, 2017 |
laudate: Perhaps they thought about the convenience of their guests, which was why they chose to hold it in an event centre where there would be ample space and security??
Or perhaps they wanted to avoid the whole wahala of cleaning up their compound and fixing damages that might have occurred, the day after the festivities are over? Lol! The second paragraph would be a flimsy excuse of not having the wedding in her father's compound. Who chases her daughter out of her compound to wed in the traditional way just because he is Mysophobic or can't stand dirt? |
Celebrities › Re: Omosefe Woghiren: Things Banky W, Adesua Etomi's Family Didn't Do At The Wedding by Sanchez01(m): 3:13pm On Nov 20, 2017 |
laudate: Are you sure the bride price had not been discussed and offered in secret within the girl's family house, prior to the whole event? Even the chief complaining officer wasn't totally sure about that bit. One of my maternal second cousins who got married recently (her father is Edo) did something similar. The bride price was done the day before in the father's house, but it was returned to the groom's family in a rather symbolic manner. The whole action was repeated again the following day, during the traditional ceremony, with same results, just for the eyes of the public Bro, going by your assertion, this would mean they already have three parties; the introduction, the traditional wedding PROPER (which was done in her father's house), and the traditional wedding party (which was done yesterday or on Saturday). |

baby124: She still comes from two cultures. If her mother was Edo, then you can tell her what to do. At this point, she's a mix of cultures and traditional wedding is a cultural wedding that symbolizes where the couple come from. By the way, not all Edo grooms dress in Bini or Edo attire. I have seen many with agbada. She could be mixed but she remains her father's daughter and would naturally lean towards the father's tradition, save in cases of neglect. You are clearly arguing about something you don't know much about here. Is it any surprising that most would-be-couples travel to the family house of their soon-to-be brides I have never seen a traditional wedding ceremony in which a woman presided over just because her daughter is 'mixed'. The emboldened depends on where the bride is from. |

Born2Breed: I disagree with you. I know of a lady whose husband is not Edo but committed adultery and the man was so sick that the woman had to confess and performed the cleansing rites in the mans family house with the help of her family.
The man got healed immediately.
I was made to understand that its activated once the woman is placed on the groom s fathers lap seven times. No matter the tribe.
I stand to be corrected. This is my first time of coming across something is this. Where precisely was the man from? I'm asking this because it would still be activated should the man come from some certain areas of the South-South. |
Celebrities › Re: Omosefe Woghiren: Things Banky W, Adesua Etomi's Family Didn't Do At The Wedding by Sanchez01(m): 2:24pm On Nov 20, 2017 |
Born2Breed: Traditional marriages are always done the brides way. True, but then again, you are wrong. The infidelity rites performed on mostly Benin/Edo/Urhobo ladies are 'activated' when an Urhobo/Benin/Edo lady marry their own. No one cares about the fidelity rite should a 'foreigner' comes to marry their daughter. The kindred spirits are actually 'activated' on behalf of the man and not the woman per se. |

midehi2: maybe in yoruba land mother is the head of the family Lol. Interestingly, even the Yoruba culture does not allow for a woman to take the role of the family head during traditional rites. While I understand that education is necessary, the whole show could be considered an affront to the Edo culture. Some would say we should do away with these cultures because the world is fast revolving while Indians and Chinese folks are unconsciously teaching us theirs. Just recently, I celebrated Diwali with some Indian clients because they insisted. These guys go as far as possible to preserve their culture and the little we have is fast dying. I doubt even the father understood what was expected of him. I highly do. |

Born2Breed: When a Benin woman weds, some certain rites are performed to curb infidelity.
These rites are among what the twitter girl pointed out but were omitted because some girls don't want to be faithful to one man. Well, not in this case though. Banky is Yoruba, so it wouldn't matter. The story would have been different if he was an Edo or a Benin man. Not sure it's part of what the girl inferred. |

queenfav: I tire.. Even in Urhobo land, you can't pay bride price in a hall. It must be in her father's compound or family house. Even if na mud house your papa dey stay, you must set canopy for outside. That's why most trad weddings are done lowkey. Bless you! Perhaps the parents' house isn't too befitting and they actually thought the scenes would give critics something to talk about. We are Africans before any other thing. |

baby124: Adesua's mother is Yoruba... Yoruba don't pay bride price in secret. It is done so that the world knows the couple are married which is very important. We don't want our girl child's husband marrying in secret all over the place. So mind your business amebo. You should understand that most Nigerian traditional weddings do not really recognize the mother of the bride. That her mum is Yoruba does not warrant the huge cultural digression. The father or Head of the family (in the absence of the father), before the mother at all. |

SlimBrawnie: My mum is Edo, married to an Igbo man and she did not do all these drama you are stating here... Is this how you go about monitoring people's wedding?
Ye Monitoring Spirit ........Gerrrrout! She's actually right. Bride prices are not meant to be received in event centres or venues. Tradition is tradition and culture is culture. If you are saying your father didn't go to your mum's family compound to pay her bride price then something is amiss. For those saying 'it is no one's business', it becomes people's business the moment you involve social media. This is what happens when you are clueless about your people's ways. |

Are the boy's parents in any way alive? If yes, then they haven't done well, if no, why are his relations mum over him?
The boy has been exposed to so much ills already and it would take a superb series of counselling to rid him off the horrible shortcut mentality.
The so-called guy who claimed to be helping the boy found it funny that the boy still says he would take on cyber fraud when he comes of age.
Sadly, we don't have functioning juvenile/corrective institutions in this country. |

The very same reason why he inspects guards of honour when he visits foreign countries Don't say what you don't know. The Pope is a religious head and nothing more than a 'Presidential' religious head who is superior acknowledged by countries dominated by Catholics. Beyond that, he is seen as a political figure head, not in the secular realm but that of the Catholic church. |

You must understand that goal keepers don't just 'arrive' like outfield players. Any strong muscled player can play at the heart of defence, just as any selfless player can place himself in the midfield in no time. You cannot make a quality goalkeeper without exposing such to big names and big teams. There is no natural talent in goalkeeping. June is too close to train any goalkeeper to World standard. Take it or leave it, an experienced goalkeeper against big names as Messi, Aguero and Di Maria would have prevented the two goals from happening tonight as opposed to the exhibition of Akpeyi so far. |
