gratiaeo: Why is it not priority to federal government, because of its geographical location. exempting federal government on their responsibility to blame the state governor. How maney state governor in your region is building federal road Beyond the usual victim mentality, why not look at it this way; how many states are there in Nigeria and how many federal roads are there in the country? Is the said federal road a major one or a less motorable route? Did Fayose not make a whole lot of noise just because he wanted to point out the ineptitude of the federal government by putting up a bill board saying he wanted to rehabilitate a federal road? How many years did it take the federal government to rehabilitate the Lagos-Benin-Ore road despite being a major route? Perhaps you are too lazy to read, perhaps not. No one is asking the governor of Abia state to BUILD A FEDERAL ROAD. The state itself is an eyesore because nothing seems to be working. I think asking a figure headed government to rehabilitate a federal road is needless since roads under his command are less attended to. |

Afam4eva: Those names are actually Cathjolic names though the history f the ames may have come from elsewhere. That's why most people that bear them are most likely Igbo and Catholic or atleast one of them. This is not true. Naptu2 is actually correct. The Catholic church is also known as the Roman Catholic Church and headed by a Bishop of Rome known as the Pope. Latin was the official language of the Catholic church and it is no secret that suffixes such as -um, -nus, -us, etc are gotten from Latin itself. Coupled with the fact that a handful of Old English, Greek and French names were Latinized all thanks to the influence of the Church at the time and the growing acceptability of Latin as the language of affluents, the educated, and the crème-de-la-crème. Bennett - Benedictus August - Augustus/Augusta/Augustina Paul - Paulinus Andrew - Andreas Anthony - Anthonius Clemence - Clementina Justin - Justina http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~oel/latingivennames.htmlWhile the Catholic Church has soft pedalled on the super importance of Latin in the Church, most staunch Catholics have not rested on their oars in passing these names, thinking or believing that they are 'Catholic names'. Igbos, who are dominantly Catholics also share that misconception. Sadly, Latin is now considered a dying Language with no native speaker. |

LadySarah: I think the op is being mischievous, you see a road named ph in Aba,common sense didnt tell you that its a trunk A road meaning the federal govt owns it. Even at that, a state could rehabilitate a Federal road and get its sum back. The problem with most governors and their people is having this false sense of doing nothing, and hoping the Federal government would be everywhere at the same time. The road is definitely not a priority to the Federal government but it would be the moment the state government decides to do something about it. |

Onyeka Owenu and I once boarded an Air Peace flight from PH en route Lagos. She was duly recognised that she was announced to be on board. She acted all sweet and motherly while being cheered but that was it. I saw a different personality the moment our plane touched down. Those who wanted to go close to her for snapshots were turned down.
Perhaps she must have been having a bad day as that remains the excuse we put up for celebrities with saucy attitudes, but it honestly doesn't take away the fact that stardom would never take away horrible attitudes away from humans. Best case scenario would be to conceal and pretend like they are never there but eventually, it would ooze. |

eyeview: The reference was not just about the present governors but their leaders in general and in history. You are just referring to governors of just two years apart from Rochas. Even with the present govts, give it to anambra and ebonyi. Enugu, Imo have had past govs who had clear blueprint for development I have never seen or known a governor who plays the media game like Obiano. Anambra had the potentiality to excel as a state but with a man as Obiano at its helm, believe me, it would be one vicious cycle. |

eyeview: I think the problem with most of you kids is that what you know of south east is limited to what you read on nairaland. Who told you that the south east leaders are not developing their zone. Rather they have developmental programs that has been running far longer than you know. And what you don't know is that the development in the south east are not govt centred but private sector driven too. Most of the infrastructure you will see in the east are not in anyway from the govt talkless of the Federal govt. Even down to the town unions in various cities tax themselves to fund capital projects such as boreholes, transformers, road grading, culverts etc. And when they are blessed with illustrous sons, you see them delve into more projects. I think you all should stop this bereft nonsense you post on NL that lacks depth and knowledge Not like the thread concerns me but the truth is that South East leaders don't have developmental plans, save for Umahi and Ebonyi state. I used to think Obiano had plans for Anambra but the man fancy propaganda beyond true developments. Abia state is a write-off despite walking the path of an economic state. Enugu state governor had just one mandate; maintain the good deeds of Sullivan Chime, but no, he towed the path of neglect and would rather organise fasting and prayer alongside every Phyno concert at the Stadium. Refuse dump centres are fast showing up in strategic areas in the only two developed local governments in the state and no one is saying a thing. Just recently, a sink hole surfaced at New Haven junction and forces all vehicles into using just a route. Rotary club fixed the road with all diligence while 'Gburugburu' came all out after two weeks to 'commission' the road! Imo... Well, I don't need to say a thing about that one. I don't know how else to best describe a people so fortunate to have been blessed with the kind of governors they have now. In plain English language, the South East has no developmental blue print. Umahi might have one but I sure as hell believe no other South Eastern governor has one. |

Politics › PDP Is The Reason Buhari Travels Abroad For Treatment – Presidency, APC by Sanchez01(op): 10:45am On Nov 03, 2017 |
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/femi-adesina.jpg
The presidency has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari never made a promise to Nigerians in 2015 that he would not seek medical treatment abroad if elected.
His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, yesterday disclosed this while appearing as a guest on Focus Nigeria, a programme on Africa Independent Television (AIT).
The spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, who appeared alongside Adesina, also said the much talked about promise the president allegedly made was false.
Abdullahi said: “I was the Deputy Director of the policy directorate of the campaign, I was there from the beginning to the end.”
“So many people came to join the group, some from even outside the country. Then one day, we were in a meeting, then one gentleman who heads one of the international NGOs in the country brought this list of 100 items that he was proposing that we should push out as the promise of Mr President to Nigerians.
“We circulated and asked everyone to study it and come back the following day so that we look at which ones we can own and which ones we need to reject.
“I remember that Number 1 on that list was to make the President say that ‘When I become President, I will not travel abroad for medical treatment’.
“And I remember we rejected that immediately, because we said we didn’t know what this man was dealing with; we didn’t know who his doctors had been, how could we say this for him?
“But you know what happened? One of us in the group just released the document.”
Adesina backed Abdullahi’s claim, confirming that the president was never aware of any such promise, let alone agree to it.
He said, “I can confirm that even the President himself, who was a candidate then, was not aware. The very week I resumed this assignment, I raised some things with the President. I said, this and this and this were promised, and the President said ‘When did I promise these things?’
“I said there is a document titled ‘100 things Buhari will do in 100 days’. He never knew about that document. He had to ask people to fetch that document for him, and it was the first time he was seeing it.
“So there were promises that people made during the campaign on his behalf.”
Adesina went further to blame the past administrations of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the poor state of healthcare in the country.
He said the situation was a major reason for the president’s medical trips abroad.
He said, “There was a time we could have afforded it, but the money was not properly spent. That’s why the President keeps lamenting that for a certain number of years consistently, oil prices stood at $100 per barrel, going as high as $120 per barrel at a time, and we were producing about 2.1 million barrels daily.
“Then when he (Buhari) came, oil prices plunged to $37 per barrel, so he called the Central Bank Governor and said, ‘Do we have savings?’ and the Governor said ‘No savings.’
“The question is, ‘What did they do with that money? Why didn’t they fix our hospitals in all those years that we had boom?’
“And you know that since 2015, things have been down and they are just looking up now. As things look up, if they ever ever get back to where we were, if we ever get back to $100 per barrel for oil under the Buhari administration, it’s doubtful.
“But if we ever get there, you can be sure that a lot will get done, because this is a prudent administration and the money of Nigerians will be used to serve Nigerians.”
DAILY POST recall that the president has made two trips to London this year alone to seek treatment for an undisclosed illness.
His most notable trip gulped 103 days, a medical vacation that caused public discontent resulting in many calling for his resignation from office. http://dailypost.ng/2017/11/03/pdp-reason-buhari-travels-abroad-treatment-presidency-apc/ |

Johnny Drille would have been a stronger male version of the Taylor Swift we never had but he died the day he agreed to Don Jazzy. Wande Coal started out with R&B, beating Banky to an award (can't recall now), but flipped because his 'producer' fancy songs in which he would air that annoying voice of his. I don't see Johnny Drille going places with Mavin. The young man should have stuck to wherever he was and sought aggressive promotions but no, he jumped like many upcoming acts would. Sad tale but true, save he leaves Mavin, he might not have the life he had long dreamt of, career-wise. |

Politics › Why Ohanaeze, Igbo Governors Sacrificed Nnamdi Kanu To Northerners – IPOB by Sanchez01(op): 4:49pm On Nov 02, 2017 |
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Biafra_IPOB_Nnamdi_Kanu_620x440.jpeg The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nwodo and South East governors sacrificed its leader, Nnamdi Kanu to appease the North in order to obtain political appointments.
IPOB noted that despite the sacrifice, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has belittled and humiliated people of the South East.
The group made the claim while berating the organization over the failure of the Federal Government to replace the sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal with an Igbo man, “despite lobbying discreetly and openly.”
IPOB noted that in spite of the “lobbying” Buhari still went ahead to replace Lawal with a fellow Northerner.
A statement signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful reads, “We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the greatest prophet, seer and visionary of all time, note with sadness and utter humiliation, the belittling of Ohaneze Ndigbo, South East Governors and the entire Eastern political class over the rejection of an Igbo man for the lowly position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by Buhari’s administration.
“Despite lobbying discreetly and openly for this somewhat inconsequential position of SGF for months, the entire political class in the South East were roundly rebuffed by Major General Muhammadu Buhari, who instead gave the position to another Northerner. This has left the supposed apex socio-cultural organisation to take to the pages of newspaper to vent their frustrations at Buhari. A very unedifying spectacle unworthy of leaders of a once proud and gifted race.
“To make matters worse, this public rejection of Ohaneze Ndigbo and repudiation of the values of the Igbo political elite by the Buhari administration is confirmation, if such were needed, that the hasty proscription and banning of IPOB was a costly mistake on their part. They failed to appreciate that without the impetus and urgency that IPOB provided, any request made to the Government of Nigeria to right the injustices meted out to Easterners is bound to fail.
“Chief Nnia Nwodo and the 5 South East governors should, without delay, apologise to the people for misleading them into thinking that sacrificing IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu will appease the core North to the extent of granting them their sole wish of Igbo political appointments into Buhari’s administration.
“It is imperative to state for record purposes, that it was the proscription of IPOB by Ohaneze Ndigbo and South East governors that gave the military the impetus to hastily tag IPOB a terrorist organisation. We must not also forget that it was this same request for political appointment into the office of the SGF that led Ohaneze and South East governors to sanction Operation Python Dance II with its attending deaths and imprisonment without trial of IPOB family members.
“Our ancestors will be turning in their graves to think that the blood of 92 young men and women- 28 of them killed in Kanu’s compound, were sacrificed for the promise of mere political appointment that never materialised. This is the worst humiliation our people have had to endure for nearly 50 years. A once proud race has been reduced, through poor political calculation, to trading the blood of their children in exchange for nonexistent political appointment.
“Hopefully this humiliating episode in the history of our people will teach all and sundry a lesson that leadership requires a lot more than making yourself acceptable to your enemies in return for material gain. Freedom is a painstaking and arduous process of sacrifice, even when it may appear expedient to take the compromised easy way out.
“With this shameful episode, the Igbo political class have now lost out on every front, because they chose to destroy the only hope of the people, IPOB, just to prove to Arewa core North how loyal they are. As at today, Igbo political actors don’t have independence, they don’t have confederation, they don’t have much vaunted restructuring, no second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway is not fully rehabilitated, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway is getting worse by the day, no infrastructural development and finally their much cherished SGF has eluded them too.
“They can now see that only IPOB has the solution to the plethora of problems bedevilling our people in Nigeria today. It is never too late for Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership and South East Governors to say they got their priorities wrong.”[/b] http://dailypost.ng/2017/11/02/biafra-ohanaeze-igbo-governors-sacrificed-nnamdi-kanu-northerners-ipob/ |

Please. Almost all present day themes, particularly WordPress' are responsive. And if the responsiveness of a template is not suitable enough, it is recommended you install the AMP plugin for your WordPress site. That way, your blog fits even a 5.1 inches device effortlessly. |

I'd suggest you list the features you desire. Peradventure you have seen certain features on some blogs, it would be fair to say you shouldn't use that as a measure for what you want since you are using the blogger platform. Blogger is quite limited on designs and features as opposed to the .org version of WordPress. |

It used to be a stereotype before but the narrative isn't the same anymore. The descriptions are quite funny. The first, as seen on UD; yoruba demon
A Nigerian guy (yoruba) who goes after a young lady's heart with no intention of loving her. They are typically met at parties, and would mostly wear white agbada (clothing).
They sometimes are seen in groups.
Example: Oladimeji is a known yoruba demon The second; A Yoruba demon is typically a young man of Yoruba (the Yoruba is a tribe predominantly found in South West Nigeria ) descent who has the uncanny gift to effortlessly make ladies fall head over heels in love with him. He is naturally a gifted smooth talker and Casanova and prides himself in been able to acquire a huge followership of female admirers and side chicks. He is also gifted at absolving himself of any responsibility in his relationships. Generally, he is a seductive cock-tail of sweet and bitter. There is no going back after you date a Yoruba demon, you keep coming back for more. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yoruba%20demon

YOU CAN BE A JOB CREATOR if you change your perception about certificates. You miss it totally. The point is, most Nigerian graduates are not employable. Being productive is one thing, getting good grades is another. Most undergrads channel their strength into graduating with 'strong' CGPAs, leaving other areas of their productive lives unchecked. Sadly, most employers look past grades as they understand it can bought cheaply today. For some, they would say one who graduated with a First class is intelligent. This goes without questioning but what matters the most at the end of the day is 'what else do you have besides the grade you have'? |
