drberry:Obviously you are the only one. And truth be told, it's not important to post since you have nothing meaningful to dish out. Perhaps you would have been so deep in this if you had a soldier as a relative. For crying out loud, we're talking about the single-handed råpe of a country by some so-called bigwigs cum miscreants who have shared the Nations' money like some sports bet winnings. The evidences are stronger than it was and the ground seems to be crumbling from being a well to a lake. For all it's worth, I'm beginning to see reasons PEJ was worried about her husband languishing in jail. Olisa Metuh has since kept shut because he understands that this is not just a propaganda. NOI who used to run her mouth anyhow has played the role of Pontius Pilate; GEJ is mute and has been roped in already as by NOI. In the words of the president; "Don't fear me, fear the consequences of your actions." |
Lionsclaw:Dino calm down. We are in the enlightenment era. Soon, politicians will start taking the masses seriously. That Sahara exposed you does not mean they're on a witch-hunting spree. Why did you choose to be a witch in the first place knowing you'd be hunted ![]() ![]() Leave Sowore to do his thing. Yesterday he was close to you, today you're sworn enemies. We all know his present sponsors will one day become his enemies but for the time being, let us bask in the euphoria of your corrupt practices. ![]() |
Vikky014:Arochukwu or not, you seem to be missing the most important detail here; fijk's mother-in-law to be was not married the proper, which makes the late husband to the MIL to be a thief, according to custom. Normally, the woman's kinsmen anticipate moments as this to remind such persons that their daughter was never married to him. Hence, they control and dictate the life and affair of the children. Bearing this in mind, say the man was alive, it would be impossible still for any wedding to take place because the said church you mentioned would also want the approval of the father and mother of the girl who's about to wed. It would spell greater shame and humiliation at that time should the girl's mother family say no. The so-called father would be useless in this regard because he failed to do what was right and the entire drama would end up being a greater shame to the poor girl who was supposed to get married without hassles. |
If you don't understand that passage, it would have been better you threw it out so it could be better interpreted to you! Judah wanted Onan to continue Er's lineage after being slain by God. Onan consented to his father's idea and went in to Tamar, the wife of Er. The idea and instruction of Judah was simple; lie with her so that she may conceive. But Onan had other ideas; he withdrew just before climax and spilled his semen on the floor. The implication was clear; he never wanted to continue Er's generation and at that point, the concept of responsibility was removed and it became that of fornication/adultery. What is wrong with you people Don't bring rubbish here just because you were not properly guided into understanding what happened. Don't turn the Scripture inside out to make some absurd point. I just hope it's not some half baked pastors who handed this theory to you.Lalasticlala, Oga Seun, please help investigate every topic before pushing it to Front Page for the whole world to see |

thamarvelz:Unfortunately, I think he is. And to think that he cited countries dominated by Islam makes it obvious. Religion has a way of messing one's life. |
Miggs:This your ideology is crude! Haba!! That a young lady clearly expresses her views on sex does not mean education on the female folks are a disaster waiting to happen. And to think she gave a rejoinder that subtly kills your belief is most disturbing. Her response not only shows she is educated but also enlightened. Yorubas would describe her as "Eni ti o ka iwe, ti o tun ka ogbon ori". The world knows that men in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan, with all their wealth, are nothing but inferior and insecure. Hence, the reason for relegating their women to the background. I hope you change this 15th century mentality and see that males and females are the same, gender wise. We're Africans but the world is not where it used to be. The earlier you start telling yourself this, the better it would be for you to come to terms with the fact that what makes us is not what was passed down to us but what we understand, believe and have adopted as true and sincere. |

viickerz:"Sigidi" means effigy in Yoruba language. What you're referring to is "Egbere"; known for its endless, annoying cries before being seen or spotted. When a child cries continuously in Yoruba land, such a child is said to cry like an "Egbere". *Then there is the myth of inviting snakes when you whistle at noon. *Another myth is that of the broom being used on a male child. Belief has it that such a child's joystick would shrink ![]() Can't remember most for now though. Damn! An Urhobo guy deeply rooted into the Yoruba culture ![]()

aminaadamu:NEVER count Urhobo as a part of the Biafran Struggle, please don't. Ohaneze has always conducted itself like a lapdog and that they stayed mute over the killings is an indication that the group fears the government. I don't blame them. Those who defied the NA's orders to protest knew what they were getting into. |
Truth is, the situation is very messy and complicated. Even if your mother-in-law to be has the money, she cannot be her own bride price. And for your wife-to-be's siblings whom you think don't want to do it, they cannot pay their mum's bride price, never. Even if they're wealthy to high heavens, tradition does not allow. They didn't marry their mother; their father did. The same applies to you. You cannot pay the bride price because that would mean you're your mother-in-law's husband. The best thing to do at this point is for the girl and her siblings to look for their father's relatives. Hopefully, if an older brother is around, then it would be easier as they could plead with him to clear his late brother's (their father's) mess. Betterstill, the siblings should locate the person acting as the head of their father's family to gather his people and pay what their late brother owe. It looks simple but then again, it's complicated. PS: For those asking you to pay, ask them if they have a representative that would stand in gap for the late man because it's not about the money now. A mini-ceremony would be conducted just to make everything formal. |
Truckpusher:It's not about the parents, trust me. As a teen, the world was thrown at our feet every Christmas. We get all we ask and dream of. I could remember we would go to the beach then, visit other members of the family and so on, but time and age have taken those things away. I sleep like no man's business during Christmas now (if I'm not watching a movie in the house, that is); it doesn't freak me one bit. Unfortunately, the same does not apply to most people who leave their families to make ends meet. They have this weird mentality of "I will show them when I get home". Hence, the reason for stooping so low to do whatever just to brag when they get to their villages. Other than eat and watch movies, Christmas is just a fanfare. Those who carry it on their head like afro are nothing but kids. |
kings09:They don't sing FOR Nigerians, neither do they sing to them. They sing FOR God and to God. What they only do is to create an atmosphere. Trust me, not everyone is moved even during worship sessions at The Experience. |
Acidosis:I've always known you to be dumb and illogical but this is just so the height of it. The likes of you go to the Redemption Camp acting like the Pharisees, yet you leave empty despite the many prophecies and heart lifting moments. Yes, there are many Rastafarians as you called them but then again, "the gift of God is without repentance." so says the Scripture. Perhaps you need to broaden your horizon and get off the comfort of Tope Alabi and co. Paul was Saul, a persecutor of Christ's people until God had his time; Peter was a liar who outrightly denied Christ, still, God did not hold back from using him. David was murderer, a cheat and selfish man, still, God did not end His relationship with him. Kirk Franklin was a street thug; did drugs and lived the thug life. Today, he's one of the best as far as worshipping God is concerned. Donnie McClurkin was gay; today he is one of the best worship tools in the world. My point? It is not in your place to determine who God uses and flows through. Perhaps, Judas Iscariot would have become the greatest Apostle in the Bible if he wasn't so hard on himself and chosen to commit suicide. People like you are the sham in Christianity. Worship is all about preference; I'd rather listen to Kirk Franklin or Shevelle Franklin than listen to Don Moen. And thank God you're not Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Your righteousness robes must be bigger than that of Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Samuel and Jesus' combined. Yeye dey smell ![]() |
I'm tired of seeing Donnie McClurkin and Don Moen. Wish I could make it to Lagos to see just one person tonight - Hezekiah Walker! |
I think it is rather unfortunate that Nigerians have come to terms with brandishing and embracing corrupt practices/corruption. At the end, he'll get a discharge certificate claiming he served with "vigour" and "enthusiasm" when, in reality, he served his pockets, touring the world. I honestly wonder how South Africa pushed us from our corruption spot. |
sameer1212:They'll attack Northerners sooner or later and that would be the last straw. I'm presently in the South East and I've witnessed a confrontation between a woman and an hausa porter (the first); then a man and another Hausa porter (the second) all within the same place in Enugu. It's only a matter of time... |
dammytosh:Not just any journalist. This is the handiwork of a Biafran sympathiser. Notice the emphasis on the JTF assaulting "unarmed peaceful protesters" who ended up regrouping and destroying vehicles. I don't support the killing of any 'sane' Nigerian; they have been warned before now by the Nigerian army and they seem unfazed. Let no one cry victim at this point. So sad about the lives lost. No struggle is worth dying for. Good to be back though. |
The four should produce the rest of the group. This is really troublesome. OP, please take Menix's advice. Cc Yokiti Lalasticlala |
