You're in for a surprise dude.
I'm a Barca fan and I even want him to go...it's best for Barcelona's future
He is halfway out as it stands. Worst case scenario, both parties will go to court and battle it out. But know this, in the event that that happens, Messi will definitely not play for Barcelona even if the club wins the case.

As it stands, he is headed for City and it is almost 40% through.
Business › Re: Jeff Bezos Becomes The First Person Ever Worth $200 Billion by Sanchez01(op):
As at yesterday, Jeff Bezos net worth was $199.7 Billion. Today, his net worth is $204 billion, meaning he made $200 million in 24hrs; during a pandemic when the world has been halted and most businesses impacted.

Populism benefits the rich, no doubt. Amazon doesn't give warehouse workers paid sick leave. Cost for 2 weeks sick leave: $480M, or 0.6% of fortune Bezos added this year. It cut $2/hour hazard pay. Cost: $140M/month, 0.2% of fortune added.

A disturbing trend is the the federal reserve, which sets the precedence of inflated stock market prices, and account for most of Jeff Bezos' wealth. Abolishing this will beat down inflated stock market prices and prevent this grotesque figure. Getting wealthier during a pandemic looks like something that is realistic only in sci-fis.

This backs my concern...

The fact that Jeff Bezos became the world's first $200 billion man at a time of unprecedented human pain and suffering is morally grotesque.

No. Billionaires should not be allowed to make $800 billion during a pandemic.

Our job: Tax the rich and expand Medicare to all.

Business › Jeff Bezos Becomes The First Person Ever Worth $200 Billion by Sanchez01(op): 10:45pm On Aug 26, 2020
The world's richest person, Jeff Bezos, is wealthier than he's ever been. Early Wednesday he crossed a milestone previously unseen in the nearly four decades Forbes has been tracking net worths: With Amazon stock edging up 2% as of Wednesday afternoon, Bezos' net worth is up by $4.9 billion, making the 56-year-old the world's first-ever person to amass a $200 billion fortune.

As of 1:50 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, the Amazon founder and CEO is worth $204.6 billion—nearly $90 billion more than the world's second-richest person, Bill Gates, who's currently worth $116.1 billion.

Even adjusting for inflation, Forbes believes Bezos' fortune is the largest ever amassed. The person to come closest: Bill Gates, who was the world's first-ever centibillionaire. Near the height of the dot-com bubble, when Microsoft reached its then-peak in 1999, Gates' net worth surpassed $100 billion, roughly $158 billion in today's dollars.

Fueled by the change in consumer habits as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon stock is up nearly 80% since the beginning of the year, and Bezos' net worth, which was roughly $115 billion on January 1, has skyrocketed in tandem. Bezos’ roughly 11% stake in Amazon makes up more than 90% of his fortune. He also owns the Washington Post, aerospace company Blue Origin and other private investments.

Bezos would be even richer had he not gone through the most expensive divorce settlement in history last year. When he split from ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, last July, he agreed to give her 25% of his Amazon stake, a chunk of stock now worth $63 billion. Even after giving away $1.7 billion in charitable gifts earlier this year, Scott is currently the world's 14th-richest person and second-richest woman, behind L'Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers.

Bezos isn’t alone among tech titans with fortunes surging to massive new heights. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg ended Tuesday as a brand-new centibillionaire, worth $103.1 billion after adding $3.4 billion to his fortune in one day, on Facebook stock gains. That surge continued early Wednesday afternoon, with Zuckerberg up an astonishing $6 billion just on Wednesday as of publication time. He's now worth $109.1 billion.

There are now more centibillionaires on the planet than ever. Joining Bezos, Gates and the newly crowned Zuckerberg is LVMH chair Bernard Arnault, who first joined the 12-figure ranks last year. Though his net worth slipped to about $80 billion at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in March, Arnault reclaimed the centibillionaire title in May and today is worth about $115 billion. This makes him the third-richest person on earth–$90 billion poorer than Jeff Bezos.

He claimed to have looked up the handle and that he doesn't trust it. He then claimed he was busy at work and that I could just send money to him so that he could just go ahead and take care of my checkout.

I turned him down straight away and wished him well, not knowing he is a scammer. I had my suspicion and it wasn't wrong. Choi!

Resist the urge, bro.

Why Ronaldo left isn't the problem. How is the focus here. Ronaldo would have been branded a failure if he left without winning three UCL trophies in a row or any at all. Recall Messi had bragged at the start of the season that the UCL is returning to the Camp Nou?

Question: Would Messi be fighting to leave if Barcelona won the Champions League? Would Messi be fighting to leave if the scoreline was just 0-2 and not 2-8? grin grin grin grin

Bayern Munich has no respect. If they were gentle with Barcelona, this episode won't be happening. But this isn't the first time Messi is running or quitting after losing. It isn't even the third sef grin

Ronaldo left after back-to-back-to-back (3) Champions League trophies while Messi is leaving after a horrible 2-8 show. Messi is good, no doubt but definitely not half the leader Ronaldo or Ramos is.

It is one of the reasons he should leave because he has no business wearing the captain band but the politics won't make anyone admit it.
Sports › Re: Quim Torra Bids Messi Farewell by Sanchez01(op): 8:24pm On Aug 25, 2020
Messi leaving the club will be the end of Bartomeu's political career and the move will cause a major shake up at the Camp Nou, from the board down to the players and possibly janitors and ball boys.

The Camp Nou politics runs very deep and it is riddled with corruption the size of our own government. Messi, seeking to play away from Barcelona is probably the best for him but it won't solve the issue at the club.

Anyways, I have to be thankful... I can't wait to see a Messiless Barcelona run around the field while Eibar and Osasuna show them. grin

President Of The Government Of Catalonia Bids Messi Farewell Amidst Rumours

Joaquim Torra i Pla, known as Quim Torra, the current President of the Government of Catalonia has taken to his Twitter account to drop what Catalans and Barcelona fans an emotional farewell message amidst the rumour that the Barcelona Star has handed in a transfer request that will see him leave the club immediately.

According to Torra, Barcelona will always be home to the aggrieved footballer who wants out.

His words in part read:

Catalonia will always be your home. Thank you so much for all this time of happiness and extraordinary football. We have been lucky enough to share a few years of our lives with the best player in the world. And a noble athlete We will never forget you. Leo Messi, St. George's Cross.
Meanwhile fans have started gathering at the Camp Nou, calling for the resignation of Josep Bartomeu, Barcelona FC president, hoping his resignation will keep Messi at the club.

Torra's tweet is coming shortly after major sports outlet reported that Messi sent a fax to the club's board, explaining that he wants out immediately. The likes of Carles Puyol have reacted on Twitter while soon-to-be retired players at the Camp Nou have all shown solidarity with Puyol.

Messi looks set to be joining the likes of Vidal, Rakitic, Pique, Suarez and Umtiti as players who won't play in the Camp Nou as Barcelona players in the coming season.

Sports › Ronaldinho Freed After Agreeing Guilty Plea Over Fake Passport by Sanchez01(op): 11:56pm On Aug 24, 2020
The 40-year-old former Barcelona and AC Milan star had been detained with his brother, Roberto Assis, after entering the country with false documents

Ronaldinho is free to return home to Brazil after five months living under house arrest in Paraguay with his brother, Roberto Assis.

The pair were arrested in Paraguay in early March after using false passports to enter the country.

In April, they were released from prison after lawyers posted a $1.6 million (£1.3m) bail on their behalf, and they were placed under house arrest in a hotel in Asuncion to await trial.

The pair had faced up to five years behind bars if convicted.

Both brothers have pleaded guilty to entering the country with fake passports as part of the agreement. Ronaldinho has paid a fine of $90,000, while Assis has been fined $110,000.

While Assis will now have a criminal record in Paraguay, Ronaldinho will not.

Assis is not permitted to leave Brazil for two years, and must periodically present himself to Brazilian authorities in Rio de Janeiro during that 24-month span.

The former Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG star is now free to return to Brazil and reports claim that he can leave at any time if he makes officials aware of how long he will be out of the country.

Ronaldinho and Assis were initially detained after producing the fake documents having travelled to Paraguay to take part in a number of promotional events.

They spent 32 days in the maximum security Agrupacion Especializada prison after being arrested at the Resort Yacht and Golf Club Paraguay.

Ronaldinho said during a televised interview in late April that he and his brother has not realised their passports were not legal at the time.

He told Paraguayan network ABC Color: “We were totally surprised to learn that the documents were not legal. Since then our intention has been to collaborate with the justice system to clarify the facts.

“From that moment until today, we have explained everything and facilitated everything that has been requested of us.

“It was a hard blow, I never imagined that I would go through such a situation. All my life I have sought to reach the highest professional level and bring joy to people with my football."

Videos of Ronaldinho taking part in a series of prison football matches went viral at the time, but friends and family spoke of the toll the experience had taken on the 40-year-old.

“Ronaldinho is not happy at all," former Paraguay international Nelson Cuevas told CNN Radio in March after visiting his friend in prison.

"What distinguishes him is his smile, his good energy, his way of being but today, due to the situation he is going through, that smile is lost because he is in prison which is a place he is not accustomed to.”

The most hilarious turn of event in the history of football!

Barcelona messed up on two different occasions; firstly, there was no clause preventing Coutinho from playing against Barcelona should both teams meet and secondly, the "Champions League" trophy win which was never specified.

No club is useless after all. It is either they are used as good or bad examples.

The Barcelona board is a cruise! grin
