Romanoff:Aren't you amazing!? This is the first time I am able to grasp a thing on this subject matter. I had to read through multiple times as some still flew over over my head a bit. But I really do understand now. Knowing this feels like an achievement right now. Thank you! |
Romanoff:This is the most difficult thing for me to keep up with in the world. I didn't even understand a thing. |
IgweBUIKE1:I like your sense of humour. Buenos Dias! ![]() |
juliusijidola:Does the said Fidelis have an Airtel number? If yes, post it. I will get his full address out within 5 hours. |
Top active international goal scorers against top 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 teams, according to FIFA coefficient at the time... Apparently, Brazil is missing in Messi's stat.

marsman:Exactly the problem. The dynamics is lost on many. I am quite sure that the Federal government refused to listen to the Biafra cry because it will open the door to other regions too to push for their independence. Else, the idea of Biafra would have come a long time ago and the government, knowing other Nigerian territories run around the 5 Eastern states will just sit back and burden the life out of Biafra. The idea of a country within a county is unthinkable, a calculated attempt at humiliating secession areas and beating them under subjection. What is the use of living in a flat when you will still carry a bucket outside of the apartment just to bathe? |
Conrod:Largest ethnic group in the South South? Are you jonzing or something? |
MrBONE2:The day Nigeria plays Portugal is the day Ronaldo will be labelled as disrepectful. I can only imagine the unfortunate goalkeeper that will repel his screamers and wicked freekicks. Messi has played fairly well with Nigeria and has enjoyed more penalty kicks than regular goals and I am talking senior national team and not the young shall grow tournament of Mikel and co days. |
IgweBUIKE1:"Take away goals from Ronaldo"? Are you tripping Isn't the essence of football in the first place to score or plant the ball at the back of the net? Messi is a forward which means he should be involved in goals. Ronaldo was a winger whose major role was to support attack from the wings but he ended up creating the blueprint for what a winger should be? After he left United, about 3-4 players donned the famous 7 shirt and they couldn't score a combined goal of 20 in the shirt! How can any rational football person ask that goals be nullified for forwards to prove a point BBC announced Ronaldo as the most complete footballer on the planet some years ago. Earlier this year, Pele chose Ronaldo as the most complete footballer. I am sure the likes of BBC and Pele only thought of goals before announcing Ronaldo.By right, Messi does not come an inch near Neymar, Vinicius and Robinho when it comes to dribbling. Messi's major technique is the body feint. So, what other thing stands him out apart from that and his diminutive stature? 1. Messi does not inch close to the likes of Ronaldo when it comes to aerial ability. 2. Messi won't even come second best to Ronaldo shot-power-wise. 3. Messi is a great passer compared to Ronaldo. 4. Messi is not better than Ronaldo at freekicks (short and long range). Before you argue this, note that he only started adding freekick goals to his tallies recently. 5. Ronaldo is a far better leader on the pitch compared to Messi. 6. Ronaldo is more decisive than Messi can ever be and will likely upset the opponent before going out. Messi won't, has never been. 7. Ronaldo obviously has more power as required by modern day football. 8. Ronaldo is near ambidexterous and his supposed weak foot outmatches Messi's by a mile. Meanwhile... -100th goal for Man Utd was a free kick. -Last goal for Man Utd was a free kick. -1st UCL goal for Real Madrid was a freekick. -200th goal for Real Madrid was a free kick. -100th International goal was a free kick. How then is Messi better than Ronaldo if we do not factor in goals? ![]() |
ElasticStone:There is no such thing as an easy country in football. Recall Ronaldo singlehandedly carried a nameless Portugal squad on his back and across several tournaments till the world started noticing them. There is nothing spectacular playing this generation of Brazilian team. Amazing forward, good midfield but horrible defenders. Spain is the more compact team with talent in every area. All of that didn't prevent them from conceding three goals against Ronaldo alone at the opening group game of the past World Cup. The other goat couldn't even bury a penalty kick past Chile's goalkeeper at two Copas ago to win Argentina an international trophy. Add respek to the name "Ronaldo", please. |
joshjc:Iran is Middle East while Hungary is Europe. |
samwash:It isn't a case of maybe anymore. Messi is phenomenal but there is no way international success will be discussed and he will mentioned in the same breathe with Ronaldo. He has always been tethered to Barcelona so much so that he performs woefully and fail to lead his national side at almost every Copa. Messi is incredible but Ronaldo dwarfs him all round. Back in Argentina, Messi isn't considered a legend as Barcelona fans see him. You need to see how Argentines boo Messi when he plays with the national team. The exact opposite describe Ronaldo. a legend at Man United, a legend at Real Madrid, gradually working out his legendary status at Juventus, a legend in Portugal, Madeira's very own hero and a legend in Europe for being the first to reach a 100 goal mark. You can't make this records up. An attribute of an all-round player is performing everywhere. And Ronaldo fits that description effortlessly. |
101 goals and not 100. He scored a brace tonight and the first moved him to the century. The second moved him to 101, 8 shy of the Hungarian. Plus, he is the only European ever to reach that mark. |
omenka:So that they will learn the hard way? The current geographical area of the five Eastern states will put them at the mercy of Nigeria. At best, they will get Biafra by name but will heavily rely on Nigeria for almost anything. |

HedwigesMaduro:No one has the monopoly of violence. However, the one with the bigger stakes will suffer and lose out the most. Ask yourself how many Hausa folks have built and invested all of their lives in the East compared to the number of Igbos who have come to call the home North. If you factor this, you will realize fighting with the North will send the East back by 5 years. |
Kanu should be called to order before he riles up the North to a reprisal! I pray this isn't true in any way because if it is, the likes of El Rufai and staunch bigots in the North will be given the perfect excuse to empower their people to a reprisal. |
Bannylove13:This might look strange but I totally agree with you. Yorubas are amazing at politics which is why they do well, from BAT, down to Fayose and even FFK. Criticism is always swift and direct even when it is tainted. However, their excellence at politics will no doubt be rewarded, now or later, which is why we cannot expect them to remain in the opposition. It is left to others, particularly the PDP to continue where the APC stopped but that isn't happening soon. Atiku would have done well by being a politician this period but he is criticising from Dubai when he, Wike, and others should be at the front leading others. We all saw how Dino Melaye protested and turned it around. |
Anago55:Bash, probably but hate? That's a very strong word. The PDP isn't even making any noise. The camp is dead and it is important that a we have an opposition in any government. Sadly, we won't find one in the PDP. The APC, even while in government continues to act like an opposition while trying to win some states but the PDP with little stakes, states-wise have gotten so comfortable. In the end, Wike and Secondus will run the party aground before they know what hit them. |

I am forced to believe there is a need for the PDP to truly die (I mean die) in order for a worthy opposition to stand in its place and truly serve as pressure group cum party to the APC, Buhari's administration and the anti-people policies this government force down our throats on a daily basis. Over the past few weeks, a lot of Nigerians have been agitating for protests (not Revolution Now protests, please) via social media platforms but the fear of a "nobody" leading the protest would mean that security agencies will be given the permission to use the five rusting bullets they have each been give on protesters while they test their range and shooting skills. Some are claiming Buhari detests protests and will disperse protesters the moment arrangements are made but Jonathan was no different with 'nobodies' leading protests across the country. It has always been that way and the APC saw through this prior 2015, which was why heavy weight politicians within the party championed protests against the then government and it paid off. What's the essence of this piece, to ask the PDP heavyweights to hit the road and protest? Well, no. Since the APC came into power, a worthy opposition capable of serving as a pressure group had gone missing. The PDP's silence and absence of solidarity has in a way empowered Buhari's regime to do more evil and painted the former as a desperate party only interested in regaining the seat it lost. The APC was desperate prior 2015 and did an incredible job at playing the opposition by constantly criticizing Jonathan's government almost at every turn. As if that wasn't enough, the APC found a prophet in Lai Mohammed to foresee anti-people policies, decisions or moves of Jonathan's-led administration, whether true or false. Playing politics with Boko Haram (2014) In 2014, Buhari, Amechi and John-Oyegun piloted a protest in Abuja, with thousands of faithful in the protest. The sin of the then government? The APC accused Jonathan's administration of 'playing politics' with Boko Haram. Today, the greater politics is being played with series of lies and cover-ups, and worse, the service chiefs still have their jobs while the main opposition is missing in action. Rather, the likes of FFK have taken it upon himself to act as the PDP's publicity secretary even though more than half of the information he dishes out are false and grossly exaggerated. And then there is pastor Wendell-Simlin Reno Omokri, who safely is hiding 'in the abroad' but finds it convenient to release 'Galala' dance songs with the intent to insult non-political office holders. Atiku, most likely returning as a presidential aspirant, periodically tweets from his Dubai resting place rather than lead from the fore like Buhari did before wrestling power from the hands of the PDP and Jonathan. With the recent expose on Boko Haram by a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafiya, about a Northern governor being a commander of Boko Haram, one would think the opposition party would have rented the present government to bits but no, Obadiah Mailafiya has been invited by both the police and the DSS on several occasions and nothing has been done in the opposition camp. If the APC were to be the opposition, protests would have been going on across the country for Boko Haram alone and the likes of Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, Buhari, Amechi, Fashola and powerful politicians in the APC would have joined in in making demands. Occupy Nigeria (2012) 2 January 2012 – 14 January 2012 Perhaps the biggest and longest protest ever in Nigeria. The occupy Nigeria protest started on the 2nd of January 2012, following following subsidy removal on Sunday night, the day before, by the Federal Government of President Goodluck Jonathan. Here are some things to note with the protest: 1. It was spear-headed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just roughly a year before the formation of the APC. 2. Major politicians in the opposition were involved. 3. It was a nation-wide protest that took place in some cities of the country including in the cities of Kano, Ojota (part of metropolitan Lagos), Abuja, Minna, and at the Nigerian High Commission in London. 4. The likes of Sowore and other activists made sure the protest gained prominence in the US and the UK. 5. The protest lasted 1 week and 5 days before the Jonathan-led government sent in the military and the DSS to disrupt the protests across the country. What was the protest all about? The price of petrol had increased from N65 naira per litre to at least N141 naira in filling stations[7] and from 100 naira to at least 200 naira on the black market. A similar thing is almost playing out right now and no one in the opposition is bold enough to bluntly criticize and take to the street. Rather, the PDP and its apologists have been digging up posts of Buhari, Tinubu and Lauretta Onochie old pictures when they joined in protesting against the past government. What many have failed to realise is that these individuals are now part of this administration and won't do or say anything except there is a fall out. Atiku has been trying to play the opposition from Dubai, either by inciting others into protest or by rejecting certain policies when he is far from the realities of Nigeria. The PDP in itself seems to be far away from touch and the people they intend wooing. Opposition is crucial to any sane government and the lack of one in this present time is one reason anything is thrown at Nigerians. Call Buhari a power-drunk tyrant and you won't be wrong but he is nowhere responsible for the absence of a sound opposition in Nigeria. Opposition died with the APC and it is the truth. Lalasticlala

Unified07:They are both Igbos. What could be more than tribe than that? You should be speaking up against the Osu Caste scourge and not what it is you are on about. I don'tunderstand why someone will consider another human as a sub-human. Ironically, you share the same colour, speak the same language, eat the same delicacies, evendo business with them but when it comes to personal relationships, families kick and forbid it. |
loosecanon50:Not in some but ALL. Ignore the social media facade for once. The Osu Caste system isn't going away anytime soon. |
OO77:I believe you're up to some mischief. The question was posed to you at 10:41AM but you didn't answer. I checked your profile and saw your last seen at the time which was past 12. You totally ignored the mention and didn't answer. You came back to the thread, ignored the question on who your escrows are but won't stop name calling to cover up and avoid answering the question. Interestingly, you were quick to call the moderators to slightly claim the innocence you don't have. I know a scammer when I see one and you are just one who subtly understand the art of deflection. Again, WHO ARE YOUR ESCROWS? Modified: Your last seen... But difference in time zone won't make you respond.

debosalau:You should have written them on Twitter. And I am not talking privately in the DM, I mean publicly. The handler will quickly ask you to send them a message and then ask you to reach the nearest EFCC office in your state. Doing so corners them and you can always call them out if they fail to do anything. |
Afam4eva:The difference: Ronaldo's fee wasn't neck-breaking. This is football and we know no club in the world can sign a €700 million player without violating the FFP rules. Heck, City, as a club is not that wealthy to splash €700 million on signing players in a single season. NOTE THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CITY AS A CLUB AND ITS OWNERS. It has been established time and time again again that Messi is nowhere marketable compared to Ronaldo. No doubt, he will make the club money with increased fans, jersey sales and possibly a rise in stock but City won't recoup the €700 million on Messi alone, not even in 2 seasons. And there is the issue of his jumbo salary. City will definitely be running a deficit but it is obvious they don't care as they want Messi at all cost. Barcelona knew from day one that no club will be able to afford the €700 million release clause. It was only an attempt to keep him at bay, which is why Barcelona is obstinate, to date. Other than the fact that he is aging, at least he can get to hide under the canopy of Kevin, that is if he doesn't have issues with pairing like he did with Dybala in Argentina. Guardiola is obsessed with reuniting with Messi. A wise club knows waiting is more profitable here and signing him with whatever salary next season will profit them, knowing they won't be breaking the bank. No club in the world has the financial muscle to splash €700 million on signing players in a single season without violating the FFP, not even Real Madrid, the world's richest club and no player in the world is worth €700 million, not one. |
He could not challenge Ngige, Arthur Eze and his suspended handbag Ezes that were embarrassed at the Villa, he couldn't challenge Mbaka who has toured the villa than most cleric but thinks Pastor Adeboye owes him anything. And this is coming from a man who bolted out of Nigeria when he felt a little heat. Kanu is a cruise. ![]() |
