Politics › 2023 Presidency: Igbo Group Suggests 11 Persons From South-East by Sanchez01(op): 6:20pm On Aug 28, 2020
A political association, Igbo for President Solidarity Group, has suggested 11 politicians from the South-Eastern states that are “qualified to be presented as presidential candidates in 2023 general elections”.

The president of the association, Dr. Olukayode Oshiariyo, announced the names after the meeting of the congress in Abuja on Friday, observing that time had come for the country to produce a president from among the Igbo.

“IPSC has come to the conclusion that in 2023, a man or woman of Igbo extraction will become the president of Nigeria.

“IPSC will engage in consultations across the six geo-political zones, visitation to Emirs, Obas, Eze, Obi and chiefs, to discuss and examine the characters and integrity of the eleven persons suggested,’’ he said.

Among persons suggested by the group are Dr Ogbonaya Onu, Peter Obi, Dr Chris Ngige, Rochas Okorocha, Dave Umahi, Orji Uzor Kalu, Ike Ekweremadu, and Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Others are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ifeanyi Uba, and Kingsley Moghalu.

“Since 1999, South-West, North-West and South-South have produced presidents, conventionally, power rotates for equity and justice as implied in the Principles of Federal Character.

“Therefore, in 2023, passionate consideration should be accorded the South-East as the only zone in the Southern region that has yet to produce a president,’’ Oshiariyo added

@ Sanchez01

Just look at him. It's the same miccolo2 in action with his alternate moniker. He wants to build a financial app for just 80k. Who does that but a scammer. You are are webmaster, think. Read other comments on this thread from other webmasters. They say the op is getting rubbish for that price and this one wants to deliver that rubbish

Just look at him... shamelessly defending his fraud with a newly registered moniker that's not up to a week old.

You see the way he calling blackmail and criminal with authority? This is the same guy I paid money for a job he cannot do and left him alone when he couldn't refund that money. I left him alone partly cos I realized he is suffering from hardship. Look at the post below and see him fighting to a job with a pay of 100 mb data. That just 100 naira.

I really tried for this guy. He is the last person I will ever do business with on this website. Scammers are just too many but this new breed of legit scammers is maddening.
I actually saw through the handle that it was him defending his other account. Why I quoted him was because he tried exonerating PrinceOgun/WuzzyTech who is neckdeep in fraudulent practices.

A similar pattern with a sizeable number of sccammers I have come to notice ever since my first day on Nairaland is that they run large alt accounts to cover their tracks and stand for their main.

If I were you, I'll hand over the issue to those who manage this very thread. It won't be long before someone will call him out again, if indeed his hands are unclean.

Mr Eze2000, THIS IS NOT TRUE! You are trying to SLANDER an innocent man because he decided to help you out for a service you could not afford!
Why resort to this form of blackmail or slander against his name? Why?

Miccolo2 is one of the most sincere people i have met, and have done business with him time and time over again!

Looking through your conversations, he billed you 8k but reduced it further to 5k just to help you, which he made YOU aware before you started that it was not refundable and will be used to for handling the job expenses,AND YOU AGREED!

He started the job,and you wouldn't let him to finish!. It is clear in your chats that you opted out! Even the moderator tabbaz, asked you why you did so, but you kept ranting on excuses upon excuses, without sufficient reasons.

You said you gave him 3k, but later denied and that it is 5k. He spotted it, and brought that misinformation to our knowledge here on this platform , and you gave the excuse that you have forgotten. How can you forget how much you paid, but remember how much you intend to collect from him?

Is it wrong or a crime that he tried to help you with what you ordinarily could not pay for?

And then as usual, you started slandering him, pasting his bank details like you do others. You have a history here. He is not the first of your victims, neither the last. This is what you do to anybody that comes your way.

And what will removing the dashes do? Nothing! You just simply want to soil his name!

You've done that to PRINCE OGUN, WUZZYTECH and others. The list below shows how far you have come in your act!..This is criminal!

Desist from it, as it might land you in serious trouble. YOU ARE WARNED!

techmo:
You clearly know what's going on and their Strategies..

Unfortunately Malami keeps goofing on legality of the Amotekun issue, again Southwest lawyers backing Amotekun would simply flaw this new unconstitutional agency of NSA with Fire Arms Acts of 1990, and the duplication of Amotekun act by the 6 states of SouthWest

.
I don't play chess but what is going on now is similar to a game of chess. They have chosen to subtly tackle the legality of Amotekun by establishing a center to "control and mop up arms", meaning there are possible fears of losing to South West governors in court but beating them to the court victory would be the agency's move in curbing, refusing or mopping up arms already handed to them.

And in the event that the agency or others are sought to request for licences for arms, the agency will turn the SW governors down.

He added that when in full throttle, the centre will control the inflow of these weapons, while also working on mopping up and disposing of those already in use.
The move is way too predictable and typical of this government. They could not relocate the counter-terrorism center to Borno or recruit more tactical hands to combat terror related issues but created another to control and clean arms. The government just dealt it's hands, waiting for the SW governors to do the same.

Isn't this abit late with the amount of guns in circulation
The mop up aspect is not new. It used to be the function of the counter-terrorism center. This is coming in the wake of the rejection of Amotekun's-community policing merger proposed by the police and the recent showdown with the IPOB.

One thing the Buhari administration is notorious for is swiftly pushing certain agenda and solidifying them giving them legal backings, faster than most processes. They didn't waste time before proscribing IPOB and never did with Amotekun when the AGF hopped like a bunny to declare Amotekun illegal. Whereas, till date, Miyetti Allah is not illegal and the recent revelation about certain sponsors of the Boko Haram has died quietly.

Brace yourselves, people. I hate to sound like an alarmist but the pattern is obvious.
Politics › Re: Buhari Approves Establishment Of Centre For Control Of Arms by Sanchez01(op):
Jokers. I had initially thought the agency would be responsible for bringing up the proper gun law and see that people don't overdo it but it is a crass agency that is meant to monitor and mop up weapons (by my guess in the south) while the borders of the North remain leaky and easy for weapon import.

The NSA and Totem pole aren't focused on disarming Miyetti Allah and their baby terror faction in the North but their focus is to mop up. Why set up an agency to mop up weapons when there is a counter-terrorism center that should do that?

IPOB, Amotekun, and the militants in our precious creeks will be targeted while baby Miyetti will have a free day doing what it knows how to do best.
Politics › Buhari Approves Establishment Of Centre For Control Of Arms by Sanchez01(op): 2:22pm On Aug 28, 2020
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a national centre for the control of small arms and light weapons, the national security adviser, Babagana Monguno, said.

The centre will be domiciled under the office of the NSA and efforts are on to give it a legal backing, Mr Monguno told State House reporters Thursday.

He added that the centre will be similar to the counter terrorism centre and the cybersecurity centre, both of which are domiciled under his office.

Mr Monguno made this announcement after Thursday’s council of state meeting, which had past heads of state in attendance.

He noted that when fully operational, the centre will “work in compliance with already laid down international standards and ECOWAS moratorium on the control of small arms and light weapons.”

He added that when in full throttle, the centre will control the inflow of these weapons, while also working on mopping up and disposing of those already in use.

“Based on my recommendation to the president, he has approved the establishment of a national centre for the control of small arms and light weapons in Nigeria, to be domiciled in the office of the National Security Adviser,” Mr Monguno said on Thursday.

“This centre on control of arms will provide the strategic framework for containing the proliferation of small arms and light weapons especially those coming from across our borders especially within the West Africa sub-region and through the maritime environment.”

He said that the president has directed that there should be improved synergy between the armed forces and other security agencies in the country, to aid intelligence sharing and gathering.

“What this means is that there should be improvement in the synergy and collaboration between the Armed Forces on one hand and the intelligence agencies on the other hand while we simultaneously work with the paramilitary organisations,” he said.

He noted that the president has also given his nod to the procurement of more arms and ammunition to boost the fight against insurgency and other security challenges in the country.

To this end, Mr Monguno said the office of the NSA is coordinating the use of drones to patrol the vast lands where bandits and kidnappers operate.

At the heart of the security challenges in the country, which has left many dead and thousands displaced, is the free flow of light and small weapons, security experts say.

This is even just as the nation’s various security agencies have intercepted some of the criminal syndicates smuggling these arms to cause mayhem.

No fewer than 415 Nigerians were killed in various violent attacks across Nigeria in July, according to a report by a non-governmental organisation, Nigeria Mourn.

Messi's transfer is like a pregnancy. For now, ignore the certainty of destination City, because the drama in itself is yet to start.

Should Adidas step in, we will all be left with no option than to remove City as the destination. It is a political business.

This is not the handiwork of the printer. I am sure he only interpreted what was given on paper.

This is shameful.

Sports › Re: PSG Set To Beat City To Messi After Neymar Asked To Bring Former Teammate by Sanchez01(op):
Messi has become the fair woman that is being courted by both the gentlemen and the thugs and 'she' keeps courting almost all parties to the best of 'her' ability.

The story for Messi and Neymar is fast looking funny and strange. Both tasted European-level success when they played together and then Neymar broke off the union for being in Messi's shadow. It has been nothing but horror for both players since 2017 that Neymar left. Now they are both seeking to play together and possibly replicate the success they had around 2013.

The twist here is: Messi wants to play under Guardiola, and with Neymar in the team which is why he is pushing for City to sign Neymar. Neymar knows he cannot leave as he still has an active contract that will ruin his career should he attempt to terminate it or trigger the contract. His best chance is to whisper to the money bags in Paris to reel Messi in like a great white.

Meanwhile, City has offered 'two sacrifices' to ease and cushion Messi's asking price. The game changer here is not just where Messi wants to play or who he wants to play with or under. The one with the ace here is Adidas who sponsors Messi. PSG and City are Nike controlled, which is a stumbling block somehow. Manchester United and Juventus are both Adidas sponsored which is somehow favourable to both clubs if they show interest.

Why it was different with Ronaldo is because he outrightly chose Juventus and didn't allow to be courted like Messi. In situations as Messi's, the premium sponsors often wade in and help (in some cases pay a part of the fee) to see the said player signed to the club they have business deals with. If Manchester United show keen interest in Messi like City and PSG, Messi will most likely move to Old Trafford.

PSG look to beat Manchester City to Lionel Messi as they 'make contact with his representatives' after Neymar asked club chiefs to bring his former Barcelona team-mate to Paris

- Lionel Messi wants to leave Barcelona in news that has shocked world football
- A number of top European clubs have been linked with a move for Messi
- Yet Neymar has reportedly asked PSG about trying to sign the Argentine
- In addition, the former team-mates have spoken on the phone about a move
- PSG sporting director Leonardo has made contact with Messi's representatives

Neymar has reportedly asked his current club PSG if they can sign Barcelona's Lionel Messi

Neymar has reportedly asked his club Paris Saint-Germain to sign Lionel Messi, with sporting director Leonardo making contact with the Argentine's representatives.

Messi and Neymar, who played together at the Camp Nou from 2013-2017, have also reportedly spoken earlier this week, as the Brazilian looks to persuade his club to sign Messi, with Manchester City also keen on the 33-year-old.

However, according to Sky Sports, the Ligue 1 champions - who lost in the Champions League final to Bayern Munich on Sunday - are yet to make a formal offer for Messi, despite Leonardo calling the player's representatives to ask about the specifics of Messi's contractual situation at Barcelona, details a separate report in Spain.

The report in Spanish outlet AS says that Leonardo wanted to discover what the clause is that binds Messi to Barcelona still - amid uncertainty surrounding his current deal - and also what salary and length of contract Messi is looking for.

In addition, Leonardo reportedly called again to inform Messi's representatives that there are a number of elements PSG must consider before submitting an offer, particularly with regards to conforming with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Abiding by FFP rules will also be a concern for City, with both clubs having trouble with the UEFA regulations in the past.

Messi is currently on wages of £95m-a-year, with his fixed salary totalling £64m (€71m) but bonuses for signing, staying, and for winning trophies taking this figure well above that.

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2020/08/27/19/32469552-8671347-image-a-21_1598553995576.jpg
PSG sporting director Leonardo has made contact with Messi's representatives about a move

Just by playing 60 per cent of games until the 2021 date when his contract ends sees Messi earn on average £95m (€106m) a season. But the potential – if he were to win the treble and win FIFA's player of the year award – exists to push the final figure over the £110m (€122m) mark.

Barcelona captain Messi shocked the world of football on Tuesday when he effectively handed in a transfer request.

Messi, 33, has not played for any other team and his sudden keenness for pastures new has alerted a number of top clubs, including Man City, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

However, United are not expected to bid for the Argentine this summer, whilst City are contemplating a move which would reunite Messi with his former coach Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Messi and Neymar played together at the Camp Nou from 2013-2017 and have remained close

But Neymar, who has in the past year constantly been linked with a reunion with Messi at Barcelona, now wants his former team-mate to move to Paris, as the Qatari-owned club look to go a step further in Europe next season.

Neymar and Messi played together at Barcelona for four years and won a famous treble in 2015, forming a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez under manager Luis Enrique.

Yet the Brazilian, 28, moved to PSG three years ago in a world record £200m move, and has won three Ligue 1 crowns since moving to Paris.

But Europe's greatest prize - at PSG - still alludes him and the prospect of forming a partnership alongside Messi and Kylian Mbappe has persuaded Neymar to ask his club to plunge for the Argentine forward.

Neymar was devastated after PSG lost the Champions League final on Sunday to Bayern

Speaking after the final defeat to Bayern, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said: 'What coach says no to Messi?'

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu would step aside if Lionel Messi agreed to commit his future to the club, according to reports in Spain.

However, a separate report has revealed that the under-fire 57-year-old has tried to call Messi to bring about peace talks - but was ignored by the Argentine star.

Lionel Messi was close to leaving Barcelona in 2014 and 2016, two occasions in which a bad season and tax issues made him imagine life beyond the Camp Nou, but he eventually decided to stay.Much like when he announced his retirement from international duty with Argentina in 2016, he changed his mind. That is what is giving the Barcelona board led by Josep Maria Bartomeu hope, believing that the player may still remain at the club despite the burofax sent on Tuesday. In theory, Messi will train and undergo tests ahead of the new season and the club are adamant that they have time to turn the situation around. For now, we take a look at the previous occasions when Messi felt like leaving and then backtracked.

2014: The year of Tata

Tata Martino was in charge in 2013/14 after replacing the unwell Tito Vilanova and it was a bad season for Messi.Continual injuries, erratic form from the team, a defeat to a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, a loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals and seeing Atleti win LaLiga Santander at the Camp Nou was hard to take.Weeks before the end of the season, Messi visited the late Vilanova in hospital and floated the idea of leaving, but his former coach convinced him to stay."It was a time when Tito was at a delicate point and it's true that at that time Leo wasn't clear on staying," recalled Vilanova's assistant Jordi Roura in 2019."They met and, although I wasn't there, I know they were talking for hours."From there, he changed his mind and saw some things more clearly."I don't know what they spoke about, but Messi decided to stay and we hope he does for many years."

2016: Tax troubles

In September 2015, tax authorities asked judges to investigate Messi for fiscal crimes and this caused an earthquake in Spain, which Messi felt was a persecution of him."At that time I thought about leaving, not because I wanted to leave Barcelona but because I thought about leaving Spain," Messi admitted to RAC1 last year."I felt badly treated and I didn't want to be here any longer."I had the door open to many teams, even if there were no official offers because they all knew I wanted to stay at Barcelona."In that case, the situation went beyond what I felt for my home."It was a personal issue."Playing alongside friends Luis Suarez and Neymar, settled in Castelldefels and at the club and winning a double that season, he decided not to leave despite being handed a suspended prison sentence and fine.

2016: Goodbye to Argentina

https://english.cdn.zeenews.com/sites/default/files/2016/06/27/503238-messing-crying-grab-700.jpg

Losing the 2016 Copa America final against Chile on penalties was the final straw for Messi, who exploded in the mixed zone after the match."In the dressing room I thought that my time with the national team has finished, it's not for me and that's how I feel right now," he said at the time."We don't settle for getting to the final and not winning it."I tried a lot to be a champion with Argentina, but it didn't happen, I couldn't achieve it."In September, just months later, he returned to the scene."When I spoke with [coach Edgardo] Bauza and the guys, I couldn't not come back," he said."I believe in this group."We have been doing things very well despite the lost finals."At the time, we were very down."It was a very hard blow, another one, but afterwards I recovered."Now, Barcelona fans will be hoping there is a fourth U-turn from their hero.

My theory: The blood of a virgin, absence of adequate security at the church, which would have made the suspects seen her as an easy prey. Of course, they (assuming it isn't the wrong pick) must have known how empty the church was during daytime.

I feel it could have been anybody but unlucky Uwa was targeted for this.

That she could be raped and then mutilated tell her murderers had more than enough time to do what they wanted, no thanks to the church.

I know the NPF can be unreliable but when it comes to tracing phone numbers, every security agency in Nigeria have mastered the disturbing act of looking up the location of any phone and phone number, courtesy of their unfettered access to ISPs in Nigeria, which is why it would be difficult to rope in an innocent person in this particular case.

The number was traced to one of the guys and the buyer must have known the type of people he bought the phone from or the type of friends he has. The police barely misses when it involves tracing phone numbers, except they are acting on specific orders.

I honestly don't get it. Perhaps I might understand if the poor lady was killed out of spite, jealousy or to hurt the parents. Hatred, bitterness and envy are still some things that make up most vile humans but taking the life of another for ritual purposes is beyond me. Like there is an evil spirit somewhere that will release unlimited amount of money to you for taking the life of another.

Without mincing words, these suspects should be condemned to death after full investigation is concluded and then a slow, but painful death penalty should be metted out to them. The type that causes the body to cake and fall off little by little and then start falling off like dominoes.

Three months after the brutal rape and murder of Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the University of Benin, the Edo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded six suspects in connection with the crime.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the victim, Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level Microbiology student of UNIBEN, was beaten inside a hall in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City on May 13, where she went to study.

She died on May 31, 18 days after, at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.

She was 23 years old.

Suspects

Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Benin City, the state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, gave their names as Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Tina Samuel, Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.

Mr Kokumo said the police decided to intensify efforts in unravelling those behind the death of the student following public outcry and “the interest by the Inspector-General of Police in the matter”.

He said, “the matter was a great concern to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Muhammed Adamu who sent to us here in Benin, homicide experts to work with our policemen at the state criminal investigation department.

“What we are seeing today, is a result of the uniting efforts of the police to get at the root of the crime, and today, I announce to you and making public through this medium that the perpetrators have been arrested.”

Mr Kokumo said the post-mortem result revealed that Ms Uwaila was raped.

“The post-mortem results had confirmed that she was raped,” he said.

He said he had earlier told the people of the state and Nigeria at large that the police would do all in their powers to unmask those behind her death.

“I assured the good people of Edo State that we will leave no stone unturned to unravel the mystery behind this,” he said.

He said they (suspects) had made ‘confessional statements’.

"We got N1m to kill her for rituals"

According to the Edo Broadcasting Service Television, Uwaila's phone was sold for N17,000 to one Osaboyen who was tracked and traced by the police. Upon apprehension, Osaboyen admitted the phone was sold to him by one Collins who confessed to have participated in the murder said he used the church's fire extinguisher knock the deceased out while the other suspects 'engaged' her. The said Collins then fingered one Valentine and Blissing Ugbebor as accomplices in the murder.

Another suspect named Mary who was said to have offered the sum of N1,000,000 (one million Naira only) to the gang to kill Vera Omozuwa for ritual purposes was also paraded alongside the chief suspects. The blood of Vera was allegedly cleaned with a white handkerchief and then handed over to Mary.

Obviously a fraud. A newly registered account with an RC number yet no company name. Sentences are poorly punctuated and his number reveal some of his posts are hidden.

He even sent me an unsolicited email when he could have mentioned and said he had what I needed.
